Excellent for authentic western Kenya food. They have a BOGOF offer on Sundays for fish! A little undiscovered gem. Great for middle-older aged folk :). If you’re looking for a restaurant vibe you probably won’t find it here! Lots of quiet outdoor and indoor space. The restaurant was a home/house that was converted into a restaurant, so you get a lot of that ‘homey vibe’.. have an open mind and expect the best food out of western Kenya. African tea is excellent!!

Alot of reviews about quiet environment but not at all. Not considerate about the diversity of their customers at - staff also quite rude and unhelpful.

Authentic food, but some dishes are a bit bland. It was great to try local cuisine in this relaxed setting.

This is my favorite place for a tea and snack. Their samosas are delicious. The tea has a dose of ginger on request. Their fish and accompaniments is wonderful.

The service is awesome and the time taken to wait for food is less. The waiters are friendly, always have a smile in their face even if offended by a client and their fish is on top notch. You won't regret the food here.

The food was good, but the service wasn’t great. 1. Our server forgot to bring us certain parts of our meal unless we asked about it. 2. They charge a different price than what the menu says for certain foods (like the fish choma), won’t let you know until the bill comes, and be rude when you inquire about it. It’s understandable that certain foods are market price but they should make you aware before you order and generally not be rude. 3. Their google storefront says they close at 3 am when they actually close at 10 pm, so be mindful of when you show up since the food takes a while to arrive. We didn’t know this when we arrived and the server was being petty about us leaving despite the food only having arrived 20 minutes before they close and not offering takeaway. Overall I would’ve gone back if the service was better, but it left a poor taste in my mouth.

Nice spot. Has indoor and outdoor sitting areas. A fire place, a small garden, and good food.

Friendly staff, quick service. Clean and quiet environment to dine as you work not very busy.

Service was slow. Half the things on the menu were missing including common tomato sauce. The chicken was very dry. The dry fry was too salty. The chips and ugali were not fresh and the food was served cold. They've overpriced the menu to serve less than the bare minimum. If I could rate them NO stars I would. 100% do not recommend. Save your money and invest elsewhere.

Hidden gem for African food, but once you find it the restaurant is worth it. Food is delicious and the place looks amazing even with nice artworks for sale.

The first time I dined at K'osewe restaurant in Westlands with a friend I was mind blown by the location, environment and so much privacy put mind. It seems like a creatively used home space and that's what makes it special. It's as though you are dining at home. Special yummy Kenyan Cuisine served here and be rest assured it's to your filling. I had to come back with my family and they all loved the experience. Will be back soon.

We ordered food from here to-go so I can't comment on the atmosphere. But this is the first place I ever tried wet fried fish AND ugali! How very exciting! I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed the fish and the ugali together. Obviously I'm no expert but I liked the texture and the taste of the ugali. It didn't taste like much but the addition of the fish and sauce was really very delicious and the combo went perfectly. The cabbage and greens were also a nice side. And their sugar cane juice is sweet and refreshing!

Kosewe Westlands offers an exceptional dining experience in a tranquil and intimate setting. I was thoroughly impressed by their coconut fish dish served with ugali as a side. The flavors were outstanding. However, one issue worth mentioning is the restroom facilities. Since Kosewe is situated in a converted residential house, it still has a single restroom designed for residential use, primarily accommodating families or a small number of people. This setup can be impractical and potentially unhygienic for the restaurant's large clientele. It would be beneficial if they could address this matter and make improvements to provide better restroom facilities for their customers.

Very nice ambience. Quiet and cool space with fresh air... Ideal for a date, or luncheon with a group of family and friends. Food is skillfully prepared, very tasty especially their trademark dish of fish. Would highly recommend.

Super food, love when an African restaurant gets the flavours just right. Small garden is just right for the break way lunch or warm nights in Nai.

Experience, Kenyan - Western Kenyan cuisine here. All foods and ingredients are natural from cooking oil to locally sourced vegetables. Stewed fish from Kisumu, is what brings me here. The background music though, is all Western Kenya & Rhumba select.

Beautiful ambience. We had visited because of reviews about a Quiet Hangout for adults but on the contrary it wasn't - word of advice please cater to all walks of life - Keep the ambient music neutral. Ability to have conversation and piece of mind is important.

Visit this place for phenomenal fish and other African dishes including brown ugali, matumbo, managu, kunde, etc Celebs should stop hoarding the parking though

Nice and authentic african dishes. It's a but quiet as there is no sort of music around. The ambience makes it kinda boring. But the food is amazing and the location is easily accessible.

Not bad. Bit not fantastic. However, may be as for Kenyan restaurant it can be recognized as good. Though that was the first restaurant I attended in Kenya

Beautiful place. Fresh food, good music in the background. The mbuzi fry is all bones though, all bones (at least the portions I got), honestly a waste of money..customer care on the ground is great but the lady who manages the mobile line needs more training, can pass off as rude. Update: Back there again, great customer service, fresh, delicious food. The ambience is also great. Not sure the mobile customer service improved because I didn't call but the service has significantly improved on the ground.
