Louis Majorelle was a furnitures designer of the art nouveau movement and this is his most prestigious villa. Unfortunately it was closed for renovations but if you want to visit inside then you need to book with Nancy tourism office. It will reopen in February twenty-twenty but unlucky for me I'll be long gone back home! It's really worth reading up its history especially the art nouveau movement which centered here in Nancy. It's walkable from the city centre and not too far from Cimetière de Préville, Basilica of the Sacred Heart and vestige of the tower of the Commanderie. It's absolutely worth visiting especially if you are a fan of art nouveau or just enjoy the eclectic architecture. Loved it even just looking from outside the gate!

Magic place in level with the houses by Gaudi in Barcelona. Definitely must see in Nancy. The house was recently restored. If you travel individually, the opening hours are from 14:00 - 18:00.

Apparently the pinnacle of art nouveau in Nancy. I expected a bit more from the garden. Very cool fireplace, though.

This is definitely where you should visit in Nancy!! Even you don't like museum like my friend, you could enjoy this visiting. Unfortunately, the renovation on 3rd floor didn't finish yet, but i will come back here with my pleasure ☺️

Must go as it was renovated around 2016-2017 if you love art nouveau

It is really beautiful place. You need to wear some protection on your shoes, so it becomes a bit more sleepery. For old folks not ideal. There are also a lot of people reminding you not to touch. There were very friendly, I just think it is funny, cause they were literally almost in every room. This place made me very happy. It was just beautiful. You can buy a ticket as a bundle with a museum and you have to choose an hour of the visit (it has lunch break)

We visited as part of a school group. This is an excellent example of art nouveau at it's finest from the beauty of the window frames to the delights if the balconies and guttering. It is truly an excellent example of how beauty can be brought into architecture. A fine example of the beauty in Nancy, France.

The Villa Majorelle was a wonderful introduction to the world of Art Nouveau. Reservations are required for an allotted time, you are given a guide booklet to explain the various rooms and the beginning of the Art Nouveau movement. A combination ticket for Villa Majorelle and Musee de l'Ecole de Nancy was 9€.

Nice place, but small, you can do it in less than 30 minutes even with explanations with a guide. Very interesting style and architecture of the region.

Une maison tres belle, un exemple de l-art nouveau a Nancy magnifique. Good museum, nice explanations about architecture, building history and details like furniture. Gorgeous mansion! Had a great visit! Better opening hours (till 6:00 pm) than many others…

Complete waste of time , first of all so difficult to book online - you go inside it's just a simple house where simple people lived - I don't understand what's the hype here . God bless all who visit this place

Very nice art nouveau villa, but closed for visit now till 2019, so we have only seen the outside, and that is already marvellous!

A must see Art Nouveau house. But currently you only go into 3 rooms, all downstairs. There seems to be alot of the building given over to offices. The path round the outside is so close to the house you're craning your neck up to try to see the exterior. Make sure you cross the street to have a proper look!

Exquisitely restored early 20th century mansion, a must for lovers of art nouveau.
