    Shahjaman Dighi is about 230 meters long from east to west, and 130 meters wide from north to south. It was created in around 1650 to 1680, by Pir Shahjaman, after whom the lake is named. Pir Shahjaman was sent by the sixth Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for preaching Islam.
