situated
at
the
Shibganj
Upazila
Headquarter
in
the
Northern
region
of
Bogra
District.
It
is
about
7
Km
North
west
from
the
historical
Mohastan
Garh
which
is
enriched
with
the
holy
memories
of
the
great
saint
Hazrat
Shah-sul-tan
Balkhi
(R)
It
stands
on
a
charming
place
covering
six
acores
of
land
washed
by
the
river
Karatoa.
After
liberation
in
1972,
the
foundation
stone
of
this
college
was
laid
down
by
Mr
Mozaffar
Hossain,
the
then
local
M.C.A
(Member
of
the
constituent
Assembly)
and
one
of
the
organisers
of
our
glorious
war
of
liberation.
This
initiative
of
founding
a
college
received
a
massive
and
spontaneous
support
of
the
local
people
interested
in
education.
Though
the
necessity
of
establishing
a
college
here
had
been
felt
for
a
long
time,
it
could
not
come
to
reality
for
want
of
a
proper
leadership
However,
at
lost,
the
long
cherished
dream
of
the
local
people
came
true
by
a
suitable
leadership
and
cordial
cooperation
from
the
people
of
all
walks
of
life,
The
college
started
its
end-less
journey
in
1972
at
the
very
beginning
of
the
academic
session
with
three
groups
Arts,
Science
and
commerce.
Later
an,
on
1987-88
academic
session,
Shibganj
M.H.
Degree
college
got
the
approval
of
B.A/B.SS./B.com.(pass)
course
under
the
university
of
Rajshahi.
In
1992-93
academic
session,
it
got
the
affiliation
of
National
University.
In
1995-96
academic
session
it
got
the
permission
of
admission
in
B.Sc
(pass)
course.
In
2012
Academic
session,
National
University
has
approved
the
admission
in
Honours
course
in
7
subjects-
Bangali,
Psychology,
Economics,
Islamic
History
&
Culture,
Political
Science,
Zoology,
Accounting.
It
is
no
doubt
and
epoch-
making
event
in
the
history
of
Shibganj
M.H
Degree
college.
In
1974
H.S.C
Examination
centre
was
approved
by
the
Board
of
Education,
Rajshahi
and
in
1992
Degree
(pass)
Examination
centre
was
sanctioned
by
the
University
of
Rajshahi
Now
is
under
National
University
the
college.
From
the
very
beginning
of
the
foundation
of
this
college
highly
learned
and
experienced
teachers
have
been
teaching
here
with
credit
However,
by
this
time
this
college
has
been
able
to
prove
its
worth
and
has
widened
the
path
of
higher
education
for
the
children
of
the
local
people.
It
has
already
earned
name
and
fame
both
locally
and
nationally.
By
the
grace
of
Almighty
Allah
and
the
selfless
efforts
and
support
of
the
local
people
our
college
has
already
male
its
bright
position
in
realm
of
education.
It
has
been
shining
like
a
star
in
the
backward
Northern
part
of
Bangladesh.
