    It's run by a very repressive religious group, The Twelve Tribes. They are considered by some to be a cult. All the employees are "volunteers" so most of your money goes too main church in Tennessee to set up more communes and Yellow Delis all over the world. There are many other amazing local eateries to enjoy, and you money will actually stay in the community.

    Adorable little resto tucked on a hill in downtown Nelson. The restaurant is part of a commune (some refer to it as a cult); they own a few farms that fuel the restaurants. Everything was home grown, homemade and you could tell was made with live. They have a limited menu daily and sandwiches seemed to be what they were known for. The staff were friendly and happy to discuss the farms in each community. Worth a trip for a true small town experience

    We visited and thoroughly enjoyed our sandwich & Vanilla Chai Latte. A very interesting environment & ambiance. Only later did we find out from locals about its apparent ‘cult’ background. Definitely felt a different vibe there but our experience was good!

    This place serves fantastic made from scratch food! You will be so happy. Not many places like this left…where the food actually tastes fresh and has flavour .

    We've been here twice now and both times the food has been excellent, the service friendly, and the atmosphere relaxing. We sat outside with our dog, enjoying the multiple levels under the maple trees, but the inside is also really cool. We'll always stop here when passing through Nelson, and will look up the other locations too (Courtenay and Chilliwack) now that we know they exist.

    We had dinner and breakfast here during our stay in Nelson. It is a really cool setting, with the restaurant in a restored house with nice outdoor patios. We all enjoyed our meals, the Montreal Smoked meat sandwich was awesome.

    Tried the Yellow Deli out today. So good and the prices are right! My hubby had the turkey gobler and I had the yoga burger, both meals were delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will be going back to try out other menu items for sure.

    Awesome Fresh Sandwiches, refreshing drinks, amazing Waffles with Fruit. Very cool location and set up! Definitely make sure you take in the Yellow Deli!

    Wonderfully tasting food, exceptional service, friendly staff that is pleasant to talk to. The atmosphere is very unique. The views from the peripheral tables are amazing. Will be stopping by again.

    Simply awesome, super location, great food, unbelievable service, awesome decor.... everything about the restaurant is outstanding. A must visit for anyone visiting Nelson.

    A lovely escape from the heat. Enjoyed the breeze while sitting on the outdoor deck. The hibiscus cold drink perfect, and the cheese and nut salad a perfect light snack before I hike up Baker Street to wander like a tourist.

    The atmosphere was unique, earthy and welcoming along with the folks that make this gem glow. The food was simple and delicious and the portions satisfied me. I highly recommend this yummy little hidden nook and I would eat there again.

    So delicious! The soup of the day was very good, the sandwich amazing and they have their own mate all the way from brazil. The chai tea they make is super good. Gidon took care of me, he is super friendly. They invited me to Shabbat and it was one of the best experiences in my life! I really recommend this place!

    Spectacular location, very cozy, simply beautiful. The Yellow Deli dishes are the most delicious prepared with great care, very organic, natural, handmade. Very attentive staff, located in the center of Nelson city in BC, highly recommended

    The sandwiches are absolutely amazing. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been to a Yellow Deli. It is consistent with all the other locations. Despite what their beliefs are the food is undeniably good.

    Loved the atmosphere. Service was quick and food was good. The server we has was very nice Despite their connection to a religion we were not treated any different than normal, it wasn't brought up, we weren't uncomfortable or felt judged at any point.

    The food here is astoundingly tasty yet wholesome. My favorite place in Nelson, easily. The atmosphere is so earthly authentic. Servers moves comfortably so I feel like I'm not eating in a hussle. Highly recommended.
