I gave this a 2 instead of 5 for dinner only because we were told that we had to vacate our table after having dinner and drinks as the table was reserved for another group. This was only after being seated for 90 minutes. A 90 minute turnover is unreasonable...if the table had a limited sitting time why weren't we told when we where seated. Food was very good .. In fact I gave the Pizza chef a tip because but was the best pizza ever.. then when I returned to my table I was told we had to leave..I guess the business is just to greedy trying to create table turnover @ 90 minutes. Make sure if you want a relaxing even with friends you ask for a table with a minimum 2.5 hour turnover. Updated based on breakfast experience. I gave this a one out of five for the following reasons. Not enough staff...only one waitress..had to politely ask for our first coffee...kitchen slow turning out food...took over an hour to complete breakfast... potatoes rosti soggy not crisp. Sometimes A&W would have been a better choice. Quicker and consistently good bacon and eggs breakfast.

Absolutely delicious breakfast and dinner!! Fresh tasting, well made and well cooked. The pizza has excellent flavour, a soft but still crusty dough, well balanced with flavours that stand out and blend well. Dessert is highly recommended.

This place just makes me happy, clean beautifully decorated, wonderful staff. The food was fantastic. We ere here for breakfast shortly after they opened. I can't wait to come back and try their lunch and dinner options. The espresso specialty coffees were just what we needed. Drop in you wont be disappointed, the owner definitely cares about its customers and it business. I ordered the Smoked Pork Hash, it was fantastic, breaking from the traditional morning breakfast providing more then just a delicious meal but and experience I wont forget.

Absolutely Incredible, fantastic decoration and atmosphere, very accommodating to vegetarians, food was delicious excellent service, very friendly staff. Special props to the waitress; Paige for giving a free desert because of a chef mishap. All in all this place deserves an 11/10

I didn’t expect this restaurant gem in Nelson but was very pleasantly surprised! Both good and atmosphere on par with restos in most major city centres (TO, VAN for reference). The fungi pizza was exceptional, as was the pasta and wine selection. Service and atmosphere were great. Would absolutely go again

Wonderful freshly baked thin crust pizza with just enough delicious cheese, meat and tomato sauce! My friend enjoyed the beer that was recommended. Decor and ambience was lovely. Our server, Martin, was attentive and professional. We will definitely be back.

We had an amazing time dining here at Marzano. The food was very delicious and the service was amazing. Our server Erin was so nice and helpful. The GF pizza crust was so good and the tiramisu was amazing. Definitely would recommend checking out this amazing spot when in Nelson!

Excellent food, service and ambience! Marzano’s has become our go-to place because we know we will always enjoy our time there. We recently tried their breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our egg bennies. Highly recommend!

My favorite Italian place in Nelson! Delicious pizza and salads. A good amount of vegetarian and meat dishes. Really good cocktails and great wine selection. I've never had a bad experience here. The chili oil for the pizza is great.

It is good to have a tasty dish. Amazing to have two. Unbelievable to have all dishes shining like stars--and in their own rights. Mazarno has achieved the latter: each dish wowed us and the whole meal just seemed to get better and better. We have tried many excellent Italian restaurants in Vancouver, but this Nelson gem can easily put any of them in shame in all terms: ambience, service, design, ingredient, flavor, and presentation. Hats off to the talented chefs (and servers) at Mazarno. We can't wait to be back!

I love the thin floppy Italian style pizzas. Breakfast is banging as well. It’s fancy comfort food at its finest. I ate there for breakfast and dinner both nights I stayed in Nelson. It would be disrespectful to eat anywhere else.

Fantastic authentic Napoletano pizza! I travel to Italy serval times a year and they brought the taste of Italy to Nelson, especially by using so many local ingredients. A "must go" for sure. Well done, bravo!

This is THE PLACE to visit when you’re in Nelson. Some of the best pizza and caesars I’ve ever had. Gorgeous space and patio. Very friendly and attentive staff. Washrooms were elegant and clean. Had a Caesar with gin, which is highly recommended. It had a good spice to it and the tomato flavours really came out with the seasoning. It is the best Caesar I’ve had to date. Prosciutto pizza was fantastic. Damn that crust is so crisp and chewy. It holds its shape so well. Also tried the Burrata and Margarita, which were also phenomenal. Ate the pizzas too fast to take any photos. The carpaccio and meatball appetizers were so tasty. Definitely try the carpaccio. Will be back to try their breakfast. Really wish I had room for dessert.

Update: had dinner tonight, they were pretty busy. Food & wine were great. We had appies, wine, pizza and dessert.. lots of options. Good service. The restaurant was really busy and had to wait for a table but it was worth the wait. We often stay at the Best Western when in town, so it's nice they have a great restaurant connected to it. Had an amazing breakfast here, love the decor, more open concept restaurant, great service, yummy food. Definitely need to come here for dinner, I've heard it's the best pizza in town. Lots of servers and modern feel.

It was a pleasant surprise. We randomly decided to stop in with a group of 10 for a early supper and ended up having one of the best overall experience dining out in a long time. The food was great but our server, Florentine was over the top. She was patient from the get go , helpfull and a great spirit. We will be back !!

My girlfriend and I wanted to come here for dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't plan very well and they were full. We opted to join them for a brunch and that was an incredible decision. Service was super friendly, even though we were "those people" and sat at the dirty table (me calling us that, not them). Food was incredible, I can't accent that enough. I ordered their house Caesar and it was so clever and delicious, I could have had so many more! Fair price and in a solid piece of the town. I'll be HIGHLY recommending this to everyone I know and we WILL be back. Stand up applause, you guys, and well deserved!

We hit up Marzano for breakfast after staying at the BW hotel that is connected. They did a huge renovation in the last few years, this place is clean and updated. Staff are friendly and efficient we had breakfast specials and it was well presented and very tasty. It was fairly busy by them time we left, but we did not have to wait for a seat, so I would think about getting here early during peak season. Thanks for a great start to our day.

I’m visiting Nelson from the states for just a couple days, and I am HIGHLY disappointed that… I won’t be able to come to Marzano whenever I want 😩😂 lol. I absolutely loved this place! I decided to eat here just based off the fact that the pictures online looked like the inside was so cute. And it is, I just love how everything is designed and decorated. One of the servers recommended the prawn pizza, and since I’ve never had prawn on pizza before I decided to get it. Oh my gosh, it was sooo good! Highly recommend. I also had the panna cotta for dessert, another recommendation to me, and it was also so good and had a great presentation. 10/10 recommend this place. I hope I can come back again one day!

Beautiful Italian restaurant tucked away at the far end or beginning of Baker Street with the best classic Italian pizza in Nelson. We didn't have a reservation, so chose the pizza bar and watched many pizzas being prepared. The passionfruit Italian soda was sweet and tasty - I recommend as a mocktail. I do wish there were fancier mocktail options to match all the complicated cocktails. For date night, we shared a squid appetizer. The sauce was great, but kind of wishing we tried the meatballs instead. The pizza stole the show, though. Dough is fresh, the sauce well balanced, and high end toppings make the difference here. The wood fired oven is carefully monitored and maintained throughout the evening. If you want a spicy add on, use the chili oil. Packs a lot of heat! To end the evening, we shared a tiramisu mousse. Creamy, thick, delicious and beautifully presented. Perfect date night. Update: made a reservation for a large group and it was a great success. Every pizza was perfect, and one person had spaghetti and meat balls (no picture, but it looked do good I think I'll try it next time). Guava italian soda was not very sweet, but good flavour. Prosciutto pizza had a lot of arugula, and prosciutto. I think I preferred the burrata from the time before. Tirasmisu mousse was just as creamy and delicious as last visit - highly recommend saving room for one.

Nice, high end atmosphere. It felt very clean and modern. Loved that you could see the fire pizza oven from your table. The pizza was sooooo good. Thin crust, nice combo of flavors (even despite the fact I had to ask for a modification for a dietary restriction) . Appreciated the complimentary sparkling water. Our friends said the gluten free crust was good too.

Some of the most beautiful and delicious food in the city. The restaurant is beautiful and modern with a stone pizza oven as the centrepiece. The quarter chicken was juicy and and glistening. The chocolate mousse dessert was to die for. Food here is home made, local and prepared with finesse. The cocktails are really great too. Marzano is a a food experience. Must try.

Came recommended for the pizza. Nice wood fired oven that produced a very nice crust. Well done. Good variety of toppings as well. None too heavy. 12 inch was enough to share with a salad. Overall, high marks. Great service as well.

I wish I had taken more photos of the food! Our dinner here was wonderful. Our party also ordered a couple different kinds of pizza and a pasta, along with the risotto pictured. And ended with some gelato (the pistachio is to die for). Our server was very attentive and and answered all of our questions about the wines and menu. Overall it was a great dinner experience and the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing too.

This place is absolutely amazing. A hidden gem that is easily overlooked. The service was excellent, the food was beyond amazing, better then any high end restaurant, and for an even better price. There is zero complaints about ANYTHING. The appetizers were excellent, we had the squid, the coconut cream sauce it came in was beyond words. The main was exceeding expectations and the desert was to die for. Not one of our plates was left with a single drop on it. If you are visiting Nelson do not leave with out eating at this place, you will not regret it.

We come to Nelson once a year and this is a place we visit every time, if not every day! The food is simply spectacular. We sat up at the pizza bar this time and the pizza chef Sy put so much care and attention into every pizza, it was like watching an artist create a masterpiece.

We had the most amazing time at this place. We had pizza, salad, soup, everything was very very good, but the real highlight is the way the server approached the kids orders: she proposed bringing them a ball of pizza dough to play with (a 50 cent investment really, absolutely brilliant!) and pushed their orders through the kitchen with priority, so they had play, food, more play while the adults ate with comfort and relax. We ended up being in no hurry since the kids were entertained so we ordered a dessert as well, which turned out to be nothing short of excellent. Bringing kids to a restaurant is usually a somewhat daunting task and can end up being the low point of the day during vacations sometimes, especially if you ran late for it and kids are tired and cranky. In some places you get entertainment for the kids, but usually the experience is not as good for the parents, or the food isn't really good, it tends to be a short blanket: you cover your head and uncover your feet kinda deal, you never get everything.. Except at Marzano. Food is outstanding, decor is delightful and airy, pricing is not cheap but competitive given the high quality, service is absolutely SUPERIOR. This restaurant exceeded any reasonable expectation. Bravo.

Modern stylish decor. Friendly service. Trout was very good. Spicy salami pizza had excellent thin crust base, but was actually too spicy (for somebody who really likes spicy)... too many jalapeños. Recommended.

Don't go here if you like pizza. There's is so good you won't be able to enjoy it from anywhere else. Crab cakes are good to. And I literally payed $600 on a bartending course to learn how to make fancy drinks after trying some of the stuff they had.

I was there with my mom and i ordered the burrata. I absolutely love burrata but their dish was quite underwhelming. Beautiful restaurant, good wine list but wasn't too impressed by what I ordered.

Great ambience, beautiful room. Good friendly service. All of our meals were really good: my burger was juicy and flavourful, the soup of the day (tomato, black pepper, gin) was excellent and the spaghetti and meatballs were a hit. The salads were the only disappointment: not enough besides lettuce and not enough dressing. Skip the salads and you will have a great meal!

We had two meals, and one midday drink here on the weekend. Had the spicy salami pizza the first night. It was incredible. I clobbered the whole thing. Our whole table was super impressed with the food. Thank you! The old fashioneds the bartender whipped up for our wedding party was spectacular, he really put some soul into those drinks! Breakfast was slow Sunday morning, otherwise would have been 5. Thanks again!

I spent a few days at the best western next door. It was great to have such an awesome restaurant next door. I enjoyed a great breakfast and fantatsic dinner. Inside is very refreshing. Also very kid friendly

The gnocchi here is amazing! Lots of interesting flavours for pastas and dishes, and the pizzas are so light and crispy. Really nice ambience for a more formal dining experience compared to other restaurant chains.

went for brunch and other than a long wait for our food- delicious breakfast in a beautiful space. they leave their english muffins untoasted which I was intrigued by. but potato rostis? wilted kale? mm. I only wish I could have gotten a reso for dinner the night before so if you ever find yourself in the kootenays- skip not

Marzano’s tonight was outstanding! Amidst COVID-19, they’ve done all the right things...cleanliness-top notch and protocols in place to make everyone feel safe but also welcome and comfortable. The overall ambiance is relaxed but novel, freshness in everything from the decor and staff to the fresh herbs housed right in the restaurant! Food is like from right out of the garden onto the table...amAzing! We had pizza, caprese salad, olives, gnocchi, pasta with a tarragon pesto and yes...dessert! Not one detail was missed from the tender gnocchi, the crispy crust of our duck pizza was dipped into a zippy chili oil with the perfect heat and tangy-ness! One problem...we live 6hours from Nelson BC...but, the drive is going to be worth it and hey, we’ll work up an appetite for that delicious semi-fredo dessert!

There were 6 of us, everyone had nothing but compliments about the food. I personally had the Verdura and a side of roasted mushrooms, there were done to perfection. Place was very clean and neat. We had two ladies serve us (Karin & Brits), they were amazingly friendly and fast, the only thing was no one came to check on us after but we didn't need anything regardless, prices were a bit higher but expected for a place like this. Highly recommend this place.

Great food. We ordered take away, but the restaurant was really spaced out nicely for COVID, so you could feel comfortable going there in person. My wife had the fried mushroom salad which was reported as 'awesome'. I had a side salad that was anything but. Great size and a lot of flavour. For me the oven fired pizza was the piece de resistance. It was perfectly done. Would highly recommend and we may even find ourself in their restaurant or on their patio.
