😠 So i posted a review few days ago with the pictures that almost all of the treadmills are broken for more than a year and somehow my review stopped showing " blink blink ". I have been going to this gym since the day it was opened and i assure you that this gym owner is the worst business owner i ha...     I was wondering why my allergies start when I step into this gym. I was shocked to discover that there is very poor maintenance inside. Staff room and ventilation ducts are covered in dust. Also, there are a bunch of TV's that are off all the time... Very disappointed in the management of this gym. Please, correct these issues as soon as possible. We are being charged always on time, but gym is offering poor conditions.

    I hate this place so much: I only do cardio and 75% of the machines are broken like all the time. I literally just went on 3 machines that didn’t have out of order signs on them that didn’t work. This place is trash. If it wasn’t 10$ a month and so easy to get to id leave. But if it’s not conv. for you to get to then find some where else. ( signs actually say out of order). Who ever runs this dump should be embarrassed .

    They literally stole $15 from me claiming a late fee when it was their clerical error and then they said they cant waive it. When I tried understanding what happened they blamed me and said it was my fault. Not only did their explanation make no logical sense but it was a third different excuse they tried to sell me. The staff/management are rude, condescending, and obviously not knowledgeable. So i took my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This isnt the time or economic climate to cheat someone out of money.

    The space wise this is the best looking location in the city in my opinion, so I got really disappointed to learn how PACKED it is all the time, even for PF standards. Another thing is, why are 12-13yo kids let in? It’s like kindergarten in there! You’ll see groups of 12 to 14 yo kids working out. It’s one of the reasons this gym is way more crowded than other locations. The pictures I posted I took late at night, close to midnight, so picture the crowd during the day 😳

    Because I am registered as a black card member, I have the benefit of using the massage chair. In my previous visits, when I went to the front desk to get coins, no one asked to see the QR code. I found this quite strange. Does this mean everyone can use it? (But its fine );Today, when I went to get coins, a red-haired girl named Morgan at the front desk asked me for the QR code, saying she needed to confirm my membership. Interestingly, it was the same girl, Morgan, who did not check last time. I asked her why she didn't check before. She told me that it's impossible as it's their policy. I am starting to suspect that their policy is targeted specifically at Asians like me. Because when the gentleman before me went to get coins, she didn't check him either. She also told me that each person can only take one coin, but I have seen several times where they give different numbers of coins to different people。 I have no problem with them checking the QR code, but this way of handling things makes me feel like they are treating people differently based on who they are. if this gym advocates for a judgement-free environment, then she obviously needs to learn more from her colleagues。

    Planet fitness is the worst gym now!!! But this particular location is the worst the staff have a huge attitude problem . Because planet fitness has stopped being 24hrs now everyone is rushing to get there before they close working out on top of each other . The wait for a machine is ridiculous, also they er started charging more very sneaky everyone month I’m paying close to $40 I use to only pay $20. More money less hours to work out something isn’t right !!

    No AC, this is now the second summer with out AC. The workers are also fed up, complaining alongside you when you ask why they do not fix the AC unit. Their solution has been to keep all the doors open. The gym needs a functioning AC… ITS A GYM & everyone is sweating obnoxiously. Also there’s been people getting impetigo and fungus from the mats. Avoid this gym. FIX THE AC, ITS NOT WINTER ANYMORE !!!!

    I went in today 11/10/23, to get a tour of the place because I was considering joining. The girl upfront refused to give me a tour . She said in my face I am not giving him a tour to the other associate. The gentleman with the braids was kind enough to explain what the facility held in terms of machines, but I still didn’t get a tour. I’m definitely not joining now, but the gentleman with the braids was very courteous and friendly.

    THIS LOCATION IS NICE, A COUPLE MOM AND POP RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA, AFTER YOU FINISH WORKING OUT, VITAMIN SHOP RIGHT NEXT DOOR, LOCATED ON THE 20TH AVE STOP ON THE D TRAIN LINE, WHICH IS LESS THEN 25 FEET AWAY FROM THE GYM.... THE GYM IS VERY WELL ILLUMINATED, THIS SPECIFIC FACILITY IS ABOVE GROUND, SO THEY GET GREAT NATURAL LIGHT... CLOSE TO CONEY JUST IN CASE YOU WANT TO TAKE A TRIP TO THE THEME PARK, OR A WALK ON THE BEACH FOR A PEACE OF MIND OR WITH YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER.... THERE IS LOTS OF SPACE IN THE FACILITY ,MODERATELY CROWDED NOTHING TO CRAZY , 2 LEVELS 1ST FLOOR HAS ALL THE MAIN EQUIPMENT, 2ND FLOOR HAS TREADMILLS , THERE ABSOLUTELY NO REAL SPACE TO STRETCH ,EVEN WITH THIS BEING SUCH A BIG LOCATION, THEY HAVE NO DESIGNATED STRETCHING AREA....     This gym is packed year-round, with this new summer program kids can workout for free, making the gym unusable for hard working, paying members! Also no air conditioning, ps bring your own air conditioning 😩😅

    Pretty sure shouldn’t be stacking up garbage bags directly in front of the emergency exit. Cons: always crowded, people really hog the machines, lotta links. Pros: clean, cleaning supplies available, staff says hi usually Negatives outweigh the positives at this location. Don’t expect great workouts

    I’ve been a member with this PF location for over year. So far so good. However, I entered the facility early this week and found that the bathroom and showers were completely out of service. I’m not sure if any facility out there can operate without facilitating at least a working bathroom. There is a lot of foot traffic among members and it’s hard to imagine that one has to hold it in throughout their workout session just because the bathroom is closed off. The staff didn’t even have an answer. I hope this is just a temporary 1 day thing, otherwise I’ll just have to enroll in a different gym.

    I wish I could give less than 1 star. There is NO AC in this gym and it's always full specially because of free teens promotion. They put a sign on the door that they're fixing AC but that's not true.

    This Planet Fitness is not like others,I have been. Is missing equipment, you have to really struggle to have your work out done . Because you have to wait, longer than other Planet Fitness. And what makes the worst . It's that on summer break they have the kids from school. And for them it is like hanging in a park or back yard school. And the hold stations for hours . And please don't get me wrong. I'd rather see them at the gym . Then been out there doing the wrong thing. But I think the lack of missing equipment, also makes it more difficult, to get your workout. Also most of the equipment looks very old . I never saw them cleaning any machines. I guess Covi is over .. If there would be another Planet Fitness close, I would definitely not go to this one. And I love Planet Fitness, but it is much better in other cities.. So for now I have no other choice... UPDATE: Sept. 18th I was out front the gym for 4 days, they have posted a sign days before,they will close for 2 days. So today was my first day back. I was not expecting much. But they went over and beyond. I thought I just walked to a different Planet Fitness. I have to really look around. All the machines are new, new equipment, new floor... They did a wonderful job with the space they have available as well. So will change my prior review ... From one Star to 4 Star... So now it is up to us to keep it, just as it is... Great job... Thanks....

    I really like Planet Fitness! They recently upgraded their workout equipment and everything looks so modern and fresh. It's great to see them investing in the quality of the gear. I also want to highlight their commitment to cleanliness and order in the gym. It leaves a positive impression and motivates everyone to maintain a healthy atmosphere. I try to schedule my workouts during times when the gym isn't too crowded, adding convenience and allowing for more efficient use of the equipment. Overall, Planet Fitness is a fantastic place to work out. I genuinely enjoy my experience here!

    It's alright. People there help. But you can't expect a world class service. There are only 3 workers max. Dealing the whole gym. You can't blame them. Moreover you pay 10$. So don't expect much. Know your place.

    The staff are really friendly and are amazing at keeping the place clean. But the two stars is really for the lack of space and equipment in such populated community. It's almost impossible to ever grab the smith machine or the dumbbells you need. Please don't tell me to check the crowd meter, I have visited this location in both busy and less busy hours. It feels discouraging to go into the gym when everytime you go in, you're greeted by a large amount of people and no space in between to distance ourselves.

    Just started a membership a month or so ago. I’ve been a few times but have been pretty disappointed. This place is ok at best. The equipment is not always clean, some of the machines are out of order on the second floor. The biggest issue though is having to go through what seems like rigorous security detail every time I walk in. I have black card so I can bring someone. My wife and I go in and have been asked to show id on multiple occasions after watching them let through several ppl in front of us. I have even been told to leave if my guest forgets theirs. I’ve seen them walk around and just tell people to leave or ask for id’s in the middle of workouts. This seems kind of excessive to me and not really the kind of experience I want when going to the gym. Half the time I think about going and I’m like do I really want to deal with the people that work there? The answer is mostly no.

    Hear going shorten the business hour. Is this temporary or permanent? If permanent, as current member holder, will they get any refurbishment/money/ back or will honor the cancellation fee if going to cancel the membership due to this reason?? If business hour not longer 24hr, current rate that I’m paying doesn’t make any sense to. If looking a way back to regular member, $10, not black member, $25, are you going to waive certain fee?

    I have been a member of this location since February of 2016. This staff they have now is one of the best in some time. Alexandra, Isiah and Jada are all really nice, patient and kind. One in particular is Morgan. Always has a smile and a good word for everyone, no matter who they are. Always cleaning, picking up after janky members who are too lazy to pick up their paper towels or put their weights and cable grips back where they got them from.

    I'm not sure if the OWNER of this gym is even concerned about any issues. There are always broken machines that are not getting fixed. I mostly come for the rowing machines; however, in the past two years, they have been broken. I guess it's too hard to invest 200$ in the new rowing machine (getting both of them fixed might be a financial disaster for the owner). The next thing is tanning. Well, it’s been two years, again, since they are constantly one or both of the tanning booths are broken. And that's only one part of the problem. I highly suggest the owner finally change the tanning lamps. Otherwise, I will officially file a complaint to the Department of Health commissioner for the PHL non-compliance with section 72.-1.9: [(10)] (8) Defective or burned-out ultraviolet lamps or filters shall be replaced with a type compatible for use in that device as specified on the product label on the ultraviolet radiation device, or as recommended by the manufacturer. (d) Sanitation. (1) Ultraviolet radiation devices and protective eyewear shall be cleaned and then sanitized with an adequate disinfectant after each use; protective eyewear shall be cleaned and then disinfected with an adequate disinfectant after each use. We have no chairs or anything in the tanning booth for personal belongings. There are no sanitizing sprays or anything like that available for cleaning. Not to mention, guests have to clean everything ourselves with regular gym-cleaning alcohol sprays (if, of course, available). The Total Enchantment, or whatever is called machine, has been broken forever, noone is using it. Rip The overall cleanliness is disgusting, the restrooms are dirty, and everything requires repair or replacement. I can list additional misconducts here, but will see if there will be any changes first next month. If nothing is going to change, my friends and I, who are gym regulars here, will be starting to file official complaints. And Mr. Owner, as a legislative associate, I do know how to make a proper valid complaint. Please pay attention to your gym and start making it look like one. Better to keep an eye on and maintain it in a good place than see how it all falls apart in one shot. And one pretty important thing to point out here. NONE OF THIS IS THE STAFF FAULT! The guys who work there are amazing, pleasant, and extremely hardworking. The problem is they are clearly understaffed because how can you possibly manage everything if only 2-3 people are working a shift there? Ridiculous. P.S. FIX THE AC SYSTEM. People literally have to work out in this summer heat with no air conditioning system. What the hell?????? I’ll start making videos and photos and collecting feedback from other members for complaints’ evidence unless it will be fixed. And don't respond under this review with a request to contact you directly. Fix the issues. Other members' reviews below, myself included, have addressed concerns pretty clearly. The only person I will be contacting is the commissioner if all the misconducts are not going to get fixed. If you see this review as an entity - then it must be you to contact the owner or whoever is responsible for all this. It is not professional to inquire your visitors to complete all these unnecessary actions as you did in your previous review responses. In case you haven't noticed, not a single concern from my peer reviewers has been addressed so far. If the only solution here is to file official complaints - then this is the way. P.P.S. From the PF response under my review, you can clearly notice that they don’t even read it. I’m not going to waste my time and sending you emails, Planet Fitness social, it is your duty to respond to the reviews by the real actions. I’m contacting the doh instead. Thank you for your “response”!

    5 Stars to all Planet Fitness ! But one stars for 2007 86 Street Brooklyn planet fitness the Staff member refused to obey the public complaints and repairs from 6 years ago still not repair. Before the staff members out of control because there’s no supervisor or manager in the morning at the gym until number of peoples try to get help calling the main office. We was getting the run around calling all number.

    good place , like it , they have all equipments but The place is always crowded when I go there is not enough dumbbells for everyone so you have to wait for others to finish their exercise, I like the hydromassage, it was a good experience and I was hoping that a steam room would be very good for me

    Here's the deal: Affordable and clean with pleasant staff. Problems are machines take a long time to fix. This is a Brooklyn franchise and I understand one repair person services all of Brooklyn. A fly machine should not be out of service for 6 weeks. Also Smith Machines but no racks so one cannot get a real strength training work out and the Summer program for teenagers with free admission makes it too crowded and makes paying members wait for machines. Lastly, idea may be to sign ⁸up for Smith machines and limit them to their intended use, not people sitting on the benches doing curls or something else while people wait to do squats and deadl lifts or presses, as they are intended! Thx Update. PF responded asking me to speak to people at the desk. They are only able to tell me they expect machines to be fixed as soon as possible. Now there are 2 broken machines.

    The staff is great at hanging at the front desk and entertaining themselves. Meanwhile: * One of the chest butterfly machines has been broken for a month !!! * Tons of dirty paper tissues on the floor * They like to sound the annoying siren even with plenty of time before closing. * The place is VERY over crowded. if you want to use a popular machine, you have to come 20 minutes before closing. * Treadmills machines are old and clunky -- like from the 1980s. * I so wish Equinox would open in the area.

    I just had a rude experience today. A staff trainer kicked me off a machine even though I said he could workin with me. He did not care, called the manager and mentioned that the girls hes training don't know how to share. After that he threw out his age as if the conversation was beneath him. Sexism, Ageism, Abuse of authority, being rude and obnoxious all for a machine. As a trainer he could have used another machine till I was done. He wanted to be difficult and stubborn. The manager recited that staff trainers have the right to kick anyone off machines as they see fit. All this hostility because a staff trainer only knows how to use one machine. Think about this...

    Place is not large enough to have all these kids workout there's never any machines available all the benches are taken not enough free weights not fare for a paying customer not being able to workout properly. Place feels like a High schools kids running around definitely thinking of canceling my subscription will definitely not recommend this gym to anyone.

    BEWARE!! Everytime when you upgrade or downgrade your membership, it’s a new contract, it means from that day it’s another one year contract. Real experience: Started to be a basic memermer( $10/month) before covid, Upgraded to blackcard($24/month) on 03/2021 Downgraded to basic on 06/2021 again because me and my partner never go ( reasons: crowded and not feel comfortable), yet I still wanna keep the basic membership at that time. I came to the gym, there was a young lady helped me, asked me to sign on the digital pad so I signed and waited for the service to complete. 10 mins later, she asked another colleague to help her on the system, asked me to sign again, so I signed. Another 5 mins after she said I am all set and good to go. I thought everything was completed and she didn’t explain anything. So I left with NO DOCUMENTS. Until today 10/2021, I decided to cancel the membership because I never go. I finally checked my bank account, wanted to know what the payment date and found out they never change my package and still $24/month. So I asked for refund the $14 difference, they said NO WAY TO REFUND because there are no document to proof I did the downgraded. This is ridiculous that they have the proof for upgraded but no proof for downgraded. BUT THE FACT IS I DID SIGN THE DOCUMENTS. The club manager says she can only free two months' membership fees for me, which I do not want it cuz I do not want to come here anymore. So i said just cancel it anyways and forget about the refund, she said I still in the one year contract which ends on 03/2022. I have to pay the $58 buyout fee to end the contract. I was so upset and wanna to file a complaint. The club manager was nice enough to waive the $58 for me and let me go. End of the story: always PRINT the paper documents and check bank account. LOLLL

    OMG stop being cheap and turn the AC on. They have always full capacity and no AC and they keep the door open, try fans that never works. I think someone's gonna collapse and then this cheap owner is going to get sued and learn his/her lesson the hard way. Look at all the recent 1 star reviews because of over crowded and no AC.

    Wrote a review about the hydro beds and still this gym has not found a solution that benefits it’s customers. I swear instead of fixing things they just make things harder and make members not want to come back. Why advertise muscle recovery machines but lower the power of them. There’s two beds. One they can’t seem to connect to but if you have a code it works fine. The other one they turned down the pressure so that members won’t use it anymore or as much. Since my last review I’ve been using the other machine bed since I learned the code. Literally it does not bother anyone since the gym can’t seem to control it from the front desk. Now they completely unplugged it. What’s the point of that? What is the point of having something that customers are paying for but we can’t use it properly. Worst planet fitness I’ve been to. And then management is either not there or don’t want to hear complaints. They say just go to corporate. I’ll get their name next time. I’m not about to waste my money. AND PLEASE FIX YOUR CARDIO MACHINES.

    Cheap owner never fixes any broken equipment. Four smith machines and are always occupied people who think they own'em and use them for hours. Should be a timer set for those machines for maximum of 20 minutes allowed per person.

    Loved this location. Very spacious with lots of workout machines to accommodate the traffic and customers. Friendly employees that offers lots of help and keep place clean. Thumps up all the way, i will return.

    Terrible gym. Unfriendly staff. You go to the locker room through the hall and, accordingly, carry the dirt from the street with you, what's the point in the locker room. There are few dumbbells and benches, you constantly stand in line. There are no bars at all, only Smith, it’s easy to get injured on the press. but there are many treadmills that are constantly empty. Not a hall, but a madhouse.

    Edit: I wrote the review below thinking it was for the 439 86th Street location! I like this gym. I love the big signs that say "judgement free zone" and "you belong". There's plenty of cardio equipment on the first floor, and tons of weights upstairs. I particularly love the Black Card spa area. I used the massage chair last night after a work out and it was so, so, so, so good. For $22.99 a month, the massage chair alone is worth it haha. They also have tanning booths, and hydro massage beds. This is on top of the usual shower/locker set up. You really get a huge bang for your buck. I also love that you have to be vaccinated in order to get in. It's an enjoyable gym experience, which is really not common to say about gyms, I feel.

    I like this place very much. It’s very clean, the machines and its entire place. I see people clean bathroom all the time, this is very important in pandemic time. I have been a member for many years, even during pandemic, I stopped going there for more than two years, but I still paid them to keep them opened. The only short side, if they have a swimming pool will be much better. GOOD PLACE 👍, WELL MANAGEMENT 👍👍

    Go there usually in the afternoons.. Very busy time.. mostly do cardio and there is space for that. Weight and machines.. not a lot. But very cool space.. everyone stays in there lane and there is a lot of showing of respecting everyone's space.

    I love Planet fitness, i never had a problem. Every where i go there is always a Planet fitness near me. New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, New York i am a black card member and i love it. My family in California are member and i just referred my Girlfriend and my cousin to join:) i am a member since 2014 i strongly recommended. Very well organized. Well Done 👏

    It is very crowded and the equipment is broken or not working for a very long time and it is not repaired. We are waiting for hours at the beginning of 1 equipment because it is not repaired

    Great stuff! Sometimes can be dirty cuz it’s the only one PF in this area. People from different areas comes there so can be crowded and I can understand that when it’s crowded is hard to keep tidy all the time. However really friendly and caring stuff and they help a lot.

    The staff are amazing and would give 5 * but for a week I can’t use massage machine because a regional manager(that what I was told) has a key from the machines to get coins and staff is waiting for her come back and return the key.

    So i posted a review few days ago with the pictures that almost all of the treadmills are broken for more than a year and somehow my review stopped showing " blink blink ". I have been going to this gym since the day it was opened and i assure you that this gym owner is the worst business owner i have ever dealt with coz if you go through the reviews you will see that from the last year or more there are so many negative reviews about broken treadmills but the owner doesn't fix them. I just hope someday someone will get hurt while running on a bad treadmill and sue this owner so bad that he has to bankrupt coz that's probably the only way someone else would run the place and replace broken equipment. im attaching these pictures again and hopefully my review will show for the people to see this time. Edit : Response to owner , do you think nobody has told the manager and the staff regarding the broken equipment ? The treadmills are broken for almost a year now and nobody cares. Please stop answering here and do something to get the stuff fixed.

    POOR MAINTENANCE I am deeply alarmed by the poor state of the machines, particularly the machine handles and rubber pads. This issue has reached a critical point where it is causing serious harm to gym members, including myself. It has come to my attention that the rubber pads and covers on several machines have rips and tears, some of them are in such a state of disrepair that they pose a genuine safety hazard. This has resulted in numerous instances where gym-goers, myself included, have sustained injuries while using these machines. The lack of maintenance and immediate attention to this matter is not only disappointing but also puts the physical well-being of your members at risk. What is more concerning is the apparent lack of urgency from the management to address this pressing issue. I have noticed that despite repeated incidents of injuries caused by these malfunctioning machines, no steps have been taken to take them out of service until they are properly repaired. This shows a disregard for the safety and satisfaction of your paying members. I kindly request that you take immediate action to rectify this situation. It is imperative that the ripped/torn rubber pads and covers are replaced on the affected machines without any further delay. Additionally, I urge you to encourage gym staff to inspect the machines on a daily basis to ensure their proper functioning and safety for all members. As someone who values their health and well-being, I implore you to prioritize the safety of your gym members by promptly addressing this issue. It is crucial that you demonstrate your commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable workout environment for all members.

    Love it when they never fix treadmills but still raise from $10/month to $15/month plus don’t open 24/5. P.S. If you’re a runner stay away.
