Edit: photo of the room when we arrived I thought I had taken a photo of our room before 5 days of being here but sadly I didn’t. The rooms are a decent size with comfy beds. There’s a mini fridge and microwave. There’s a tv in the room as well with basic cable as well as amazing AC for the summer. Amazing location right outside of Clifton hill. The falls and attractions are within walking distance if you have a car, it can just stay parked. Staff are super friendly and helpful as well here. Parking is $20 a night on top of the room fees but it’s a secure garage with cameras and there’s always people around. Parking on Saturday night can be hard to find despite it being a large parking area. We were here for 5 nights - including the entire weekend - and had no issues with noise or parties. Quiet time is at 11pm but even before that there was no noise. Walls are pretty thick. The occasional loud car engine but that’s normal in this area / can’t be prevented. We would 100% stay at this hotel again in the future / are already planning our next trip around this hotel :)

Very disappointed. Last year I was pleased. But this year I drove into Niagara falls at 330am and had just flown in from Vegas. My phone died at the airport in Vegas so I wasn't able to book anything before arriving. Anyhow I tried to get a room at 4am at the front desk and was turned away. Money was not an issue for me. I was willing to pay for regular fees of the room even though it was 4am and checkout is 11 and pay 3 extra nights. But nope they shut us out and we tried couple other hotels that we couldn't even find a front desk clerk. Then I set my wife up in the backseat of the car so she could sleep while I kept watch from shady characters in the neighborhood. While she was snoring I called the Hilton and they told me to go to the front desk. Got a room at the Hilton was able to get my lovely wife a bed by 6am we were both safe sleeping at a hotel I can rely on. As for Howard Johnson shame on you. Never turn away business and especially never turn someone away. Very disappointed 😞 I will never bring my business there again.

Honestly I went by reviews when booking this hotel and the reviews didn't disappoint. Upon arrival, we were greeted and offered an upgraded room which was so unexpected but greatly appreciated. Hotel room was clean and large. Beds, although looked uncomfortable were just the opposite! I woke up without stiffness! Clean and quiet hotel! Location is great too, we could walk everywhere. My family and I normally stay at the Sheraton on the falls, but our last visit there was hell. The HOJO was a great hotel for us and we would definitely book again! Thanks for such a great experience.

I really liked the service here they were very helpful. The location is great within walking distance to everything. I was in the fireplace king suite. Really nice room shower and toilet room kinda small. Hot tub worked great. The pipe I think for the hot tub that runs along the upper wall is ugly and should be covered or decorated to hide. The mirror above the bed is a nice touch. Overall for the price a good room. Heat and air worked great.

After reading some unfavourable reviews, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in! Perhaps not all rooms have been renovated, but we had an updated room with very comfortable beds and clean, nice sheets. We did not get a chance to check out the pool. The location is great - easy walking to Clifton and the falls. Coffee in the lobby in the morning. There is some covered parking - parking lot is just large enough for 1 car per room, and seemed to fill up early (we arrived early, parked in the covered parking and enjoyed lunch at a nearby restaurant until the room was ready). We would stay here again!

Stayed here twice and I really like this hotel. It’s clean and has nice furniture. The jacuzzi in the room is clean and works well. The bed is comfy. My only complaint is you cannot open the windows. So in the middle of winter we had to run the AC at full blast to cool the room to sleep. The swimming pool is also very clean and fun! Gym has couple treadmills, some free weights, and an all in one gym machine.

The hotel was great overall. Good location. Room was big and clean. However not enough towels for 2 nights stay. We called down and asked twice for more towels while waiting to shower. They never showed up and we were nearing check out so we had to leave and shower at the next hotel we went to. First time Over ever experienced this

I like this hotel, rooms are nice for the price and clean. Bathrooms could use an update but generally I like it. My only problem is they don't really follow Wyndham rewards program. Yes you get points but that's it....the program base on what level you are has perks. I was not allowed to use my perks. I can totally understand middle of summer hotels are busy. I wanted to do early check in(Wyndham perk) but they wouldn't let me. Said 4pm is check in and I have to pay if I want early check in. Mind you it was 2:30pm when I asked. Just a shame they don't follow the Wyndham program so I'll check into another hotel that follows the program from now on.

The Hotel and my room was as pictured. I was very glad and happy with our stay. Would stay again when we return to the falls. I had not stayed at a HoJo since I was a kid. Back then the hotel was not as nice as this one. That was a worry for me at the time of booking. After some research of reviews I saw alot of good reviews. I now see why keep up the good work. Staff the hotel was well kept by the staff members.

Perfect location, clean hotel and friendly staff. My only feedback to share is some of its age shows. If you have back problems, you could have an issue with the bed. Mine had indents where you had to roll into the most used sunken spot which left your body on on uneven angle (doable but my back was sore for the three days I was there). Our bathroom sink was completely slanted and everything rolled off (easy fix, just didnt keep anything on it). It would be nice to have two chairs in the room as we had lunch in room one day and one person had to sit on bed. Would I return..... yes.

Booked 2 queens, got 2 doubles, told bed choice is a request not a guarantee which was disappointing. Room was clean, a/c worked very well and was not too loud. Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Check in was quick and friendly. Plenty of parking and the location was perfect, very close to Clifton hill and a 10 minute walk to both casinos. Despite it being very busy on the street, the room was quiet. I didn’t get to use the pool but it looked great. Unfortunately guests don’t follow the rules about not smoking within 10 metres of the entrance and each time I tried to enter there were 10 or 15 people blocking the doors and smoking. The hotel should do something about this, like removing the benches and ashtrays.

Not a bad hotel, It is very clean and the staff are polite. If you are going to visit the falls or anything in this area, The location is not bad. The only issue I had was I was surprise they do not serve breakfast. But i guess that's their policy at this location

This basic motel is VERY unrated. If you are looking for a good deal, great location and a clean basic room, this is the place. We have stayed at ALL the large hotels in Niagara which range from 250 to 500 plus a night. A few of the larger ones are lovely but very expensive and additional charges such as 30.00 a night for parking are not mentioned in the rate. There are so many things to do in Niagara so we do not need a big fancy room anymore( usually our tradition until we found this deal) as we are always out and about. This is a one minute walk to all the best restaurants (Copacabana, Ruth Chris, Watermark etc) and the Casino. The room is very basic but the bed was very comfy with soft sheets and good quality pillows. I would recommend this motel based on price and location.

Great place to stay! The indoor/outdoor pool was nice. We stayed 9/4-9/8 and it was so hot. The pool was a nice way to cool off! This hotel is right within walking distance of Clifton Hill. The views were great! We already are booked for another trip in December!!

It's conveniently located, which is great. There was a weird smell in the room, which was handled promptly, so that's cool. My floor had a 'vending room', which actually only had an ice machine. I was hoping for a vending machine. The rooms are fine. They seemed clean. Blankets were thin, and the heater never came on. I had a friend in another room with identical art and decor, which is I guess normal for hotels? But not very interesting. For the price, it was fine. I wouldn't spend much time there except to sleep.

Our go to hotel! Also the reason why I signed up for Wyndham Rewards. Various members of our family have been guests here for many years. Pre and post renovations. The hotel is right across from Clifton Hill & very close to the falls and other attractions. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. This time we stayed for 1 night and got upgraded to a room with a heart shaped whirlpool tub. Karey is the best. We love it when she’s here. She always provides top notch customer service with a smile! We’ll be back for sure :)

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The walls and ceiling are due for a "facelift". Some of the wallpaper and ceiling are separated. The bed was comfortable. It was nice that we could open a window for a bit of fresh air. The fridge and microwave are always handy for a weekend holiday however the fridge did not get very cold. Our room had a good view facing toward the sky wheel but given the location, it was very loud at night (we were expecting that). Overall we had no complaints. We will return for can't stay.

I stayed for 4 nights and didn't have any issues. The room was very clean and had all the basic necessities and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet and I loved the location. Within walking distance to all the main attractions and bus stop, lots of food options close by.

My wife and I spent a few weekdays here to celebrate our anniversary. We had stayed at another nearby hotel for our honeymoon 15 years ago, and we liked being in the Clifton Hill area. Overall we had at great experience at HoJos. The location is great, with lots of shops, restaurants, sights, and activities in the neighborhood. The falls are about a 15 minute walk away. We got a deluxe room with a king size bed and the heart shaped jacuzzi tub. While the room could use updated, our bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning did a great job keeping the room cool. The indoor/outdoor pool was clean and nice. I think this is a good hotel for families, if you are looking for something inexpensive in walking distance to amusement rides and such. The staff was courteous and helpful. My wife and I don’t have young kids, but we’d like to bring our grandkids here sometime.

Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience with our room. We stayed in a King superior suite on the sixth floor. The pros: shower water was hot and the pressure was good. It’s a great location, very close to Clifton hill and the falls. Very friendly staff. The cons: the room was very, very damp.. the couch, the bed, and the floor. We slept on top of the blankets because of how damp the bed was. There was mold on the floor of the bathroom which smelled like mildew. The hair dryer was broken. The outlets by the sink were so flimsy, my hair tools could not stay plugged in. And finally the AC unit was so loud when it kicked in. Also, the food court was closed due to maintenance issues. We won’t be staying there again.

****Keep away from this hotel! They will cancel your room at the last minute and ruin your holiday plan!**** I must say it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. This review serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering booking a stay at this hotel. I have been to many different places and never had such as horrible experience as this place. I had my family with little kids, and we flew from the Midwest to Ontario to stay there. At the very last minute, around 10 pm, when we were heading to the hotel, I received a call from the reception that my room was canceled! We were terrified as the kids were exhausted. I had requested the reception, and they did not even apologize for why they had to cancel. It was so disappointing and disrespectful. Just a quick heads up for anyone thinking of making a reservation - you might wanna consider booking at a different spot. There's a chance that your room could get canceled last minute, and we wouldn't want that to happen to you! Again, I would strongly advise against booking a stay at this hotel unless you enjoy disappointment and frustration. Save yourself the trouble and find a reputable establishment that values its guests' comfort and satisfaction.

The only downside to the stay was no housekeeping. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Anytime you needed anything like clean towels, toilet paper etc you just asked and they were at your door in minutes. The hotel was very clean the rooms very nice. We had a balcony room and really enjoyed the people watching and views. Steps from Clifton Hill which was great as I use a walker. The pool and hot tub were clean and the sauna got really hot. Going back very soon.

It was our first time staying at this hotel June 26 to 27th. We booked a king deluxe room with in room Jacuzzi, and we’re very excited for a romantic night away. If you’re there to be a tourist, the location is great. The check-in staff were fantastic, but other than that it was a mediocre stay, and every area of the hotel has a different and super unpleasant smell!? as soon as we walked into our room 527 my husband stated, and I quote: “Ewww! It smells like an old foot in here.” The smell was so bad we Instacarted scented candles, and spray because it was so musty and off putting, but we didn’t want to switch rooms as we paid extra for the Jacuzzi tub. Upon first glance, the room was clean, but there was sticky glass ring stains on the bedside tables, super dusty alarm clock, hairs in the heart shaped tub (that the jets didn’t consistently work), towels felt damp etc… We did take advantage of the pool, which was fine, a little cool, but a really nice set up with the connecting indoor/ outdoor pools. Great family hotel but we aren’t kid people so not the place for childless couples looking for a romantic stay. We were able to see the overwater 10pm fireworks at the falls from the room, which was a nice surprise. We didn’t appreciate the worker who tried to enter our room at 11:05 AM. If I hadn’t had the security chain lock on the door, they would’ve came right on in! At least give us a chance to respond before trying to barge in! Over all we won’t be back but that’s because we have a different favourite hotel in the falls area but we wanted to try someplace new, again, great place for families.

Not bad overall, convenient location. Staff refused to comp parking for my birthday (worth a try). If you're on the ground floor, tons of noise in the hallway. Gym is tiny, but you can get a decent workout. Pool/hot tub is not bad but screaming kids galore. Rooms have high ceilings and are pretty nice. A bit expensive.

No issues with this hotel! The location was great if you do not mind a little walking, and the rooms were exactly as I expected. The staff was nice with easy check in. The only thing I would note is how incredibly small the showers are in the rooms with the jacuzzi.

It's at a perfect spot. 9 out of 10 times, I normally stay at this hotel. They're clean but I'm hoping they would make some changes to the color scheme of the suit walls. I've been seeing the same thing for years and would like to see some changes. Otherwise me and my family like this hotel.

  • 4/5 Amanda M. 2 years ago on Google
The purpose of the room was for my husband and I and some good friends to get together after our wedding to hang out and have a couple drinks. Our room had a massive heart shaped jacuzzi that we threw all our pillows inside it and (no water) and sat in it most of the night. The jacuzzi was really clean along with the rest of the room. The location was pretty good but not enough parking , we had to make our own spot Kitty corner by the garage.🤷 I'd stay there again.

Perfect for families with kids. We loved our stay. Nice pool and hot tub area with towels provided. Rooms are clean, roomy and comfortable. We also had a great view on floor 6. Excellent value for the price. We will be back!

We had a great time at this hotel. The location was perfect, everything is within walking distance that you could need. We got the heart jacuzzi and it was adorable and spacious. If you are from the US, your cell service will work here, it will not work beyond this area. You’re a 10 minute walk from the falls, if that.

  • 4/5 Zosia S. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are spacious and well organized, we liked the fancy mirror on the ceiling. What I disliked is that there is no handheld shower hose to be able to rinse the bathtub or wash children after swimming pool etc. Also it was supposed to be non-smoking property but we could smell second hand smoke coming to our room repeatedly and when we complained to the customer service they haven't really done anything about it, so for this reason I have reduced one star. I believe the price is somewhat exaggerated compared to price/quality/location you get at other hotels in Niagara Falls, however it was pleasant stay overall

Very nice hotel. Our checking was smooth and the last was friendly. The room was clean and modern! We got a king suit with a whirlpool tub and we were very impressed. The tub is heart shaped and very cute! And the bed and pillows were extremely comfy!! There was a little fridge and microwave as well. The location is great! We walked to everything we went to! We probably will be staying here again!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the deluxe king whirlpool suite. This hotel is in an amazing location, as it was walking distance from almost everything we wanted to see. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the jacuzzi tub was a nice addition. The shower and toilet area are a bit small. It is an outdated place and could use a renovation, but we already knew that before staying. Overall the hotel was great, and I would recommend this!

Stayed in this hotel twice and every time it was awesome experience. If you are visiting with family, it may be one of the best options near Clifton Hills. Both times, I was greeted by Raj at the front desk and this guy is awesome. In fact, all the staff I dealt with were really good and welcoming. Heather checked me out and it was also a very good experience. In short, I will highly recommend this hotel based on my overall experience.

  • 4/5 Frank P. 1 year ago on Google
We had a Whirlpool room with a large heart shaped hot tub that fit two people comfortably. The room was okay. Clean enough. The bed was comfortable, the TV was good and the shower was a bit small. We had room 328 on the back side of the hotel. The View was an Indian restaurant and parking lots. If you like Indian food and I highly recommend this restaurant. It ranks among the best Indian food that I've ever had!

We visited with our kids, and didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a hotel. The rooms were newly renovated and beds were so comfy. My only criticism is no comforter, but we brought blankets just in case. The location is perfect as far as access to everything. We got a balcony room so we could step out while the kids were asleep, and turns out we could even see the fireworks from there. The AC unit wasn’t noisy like a lot of places tend to be. The bathroom is small, but that’s a concession we could make for how great everything else was. Staff was great. Be wary of the check in time, because everyone shows up at the same time. We had a room by the elevator and had no issue with noise. Really, truly, so glad this hotel was recommended to us.

I had a great time with a close friend over the Canada day weekend. The pool was fun to go swimming in and refreshing. The rooms are modern and up-to-date. The staff are very nice but my only issue is there was no early check in or late check out available because of it being a busy weekend. I still feel for Wyndham reward members they should honor some of the perks for their guests. Other than that I had an amazing time at this place the location's perfect it's right on the strip and it was only $15 for parking.
