It was lovely and quaint walking up to the cascade in the evening about 7pm. I felt safe (solo female) as there were still plenty of people around. The steps up don’t take too long but be prepared for the cardio and have good footwear. The views are beautiful and the mature trees give relief from the sun. There are lots of places to sit and rest on the way up.

Great views of the city and the waterfall is nice to have a look at and runs at the side of the street all the way down. Go all the way to the top for best views. It is a difficult walk for anyone with a pushchair or not great at walking but well worth it.

A must see when visiting Nice, however a word of warning, it's not always turned on, presumably for cleaning. We visited during the hottest part of the day, so allowing the spray from the waterfall to hit us was incredibly refreshing. The views from the top are spectacular too, we must have spent an hour and a half just admiring the views out over Nice.

You can see the Waterfall, on Castle Holl for free if you walk up the steps, or even take the elevator (also free) for most of the way. There may be quite a few people taking photos, so that can be a little challenging, but it is a beautiful spot, and so are the views around. For me, it was worth the climb, especially as I carried on up to see the rest of Castle Hill, including the architectural ruins site. You may get splashed a little, but not much, so be prepared. No need for a rain jacket though!

A bit disappointed as it was not running, most likely to preserve water, which is understandable, but was happy jusy to find it...the overall experience from the hike up is worth the super views!

Must see if you are in Nice! Easily accessible with elevator that takes you up, then light walk to waterfall. There you will have panoramic view over Nice.

Man made waterfall. Give a nice spray of water in the heat of the summer. Panoramic view of Nice from up here. Free to visit.

Beautiful walk to the waterfall. Up , up and up. Magnificent views of Nice from the hill. Every day at midday a cannon fires a shot. Every first Wednesday of the month they test air siren ,so do not worry if you here those things on the mentioned days.

The waterfall at Colline du Château is captivating by the sheer beauty and tranquility it exudes. The crystal-clear water cascades gracefully down the rocks, creating a soothing melody that will instantly put your mind at ease. Surrounding the waterfall, you'll find lush greenery that adds to the enchanting ambiance. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a serene escape, the waterfall at Colline du Château is a must-visit. Take your time, soak in the serenity, and don't forget to snap a few pictures to capture this magical moment.

Love it, very fresh with wind. But I made a mistake, so I walked in two different ways.

Well worth the climb up (or queue for the free lift). The view is amazing, the waterfall is impressive, and there is the bonus of a lovely shady park too. A great break from the busy old town below

A perfect place to see the view of Nice, however it is a bit tiring to go, since you have to walk for a long time and the weather is steaming. Trust, all the efforts are worth.

Nice view of the city and lovely walk. Lots of stairs so make sure you have good knees.

I enjoyed this view point a lot. It's a little hike up but from the top you get a view of most of Nice - both sides. There is a playground, shops and gardens at the top making it a perfect place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic on the cheap

While quite a high walk, not too difficult as the steps are short. Very pretty & well maintained, however look up from the main Nice beach before climbing, as the waterfall is artificial and therefore not always switched on.

Cascade Dijon is an artificial waterfall located in the castle park. A very beautiful spot to come visit and walk around. Highly recommend a visit and then walking and the views over looking Nice. It was constructed in 1885 and a lovely sight to behold from below and above. Currently, the waterfall is sustained by the Vésubie valley

A lovely place that's cool on a hot day, and beautifully located 90 meters up from the promenade and blue seas below

  • 3/5 steven n. 1 year ago on Google
It’s worth the ascent and has the optional elevator if you don’t fancy the walk. Can get busy with a queue for the 2 small lifts.
