The local expat hangout. This is the place to go if you simply want to meet nice (English-speaking) people and have a cheap pint. It's not fancy and they don't serve food anymore but you'll be welcomed like an old friend.

This review is for the owners of The Snug and Cellar. You have a lovely bar that we’ve enjoyed for a decade. We will not be back. Yesterday, a staff member taught a master class in “How to lose a regular.” Ironically, it was a teachable moment I fear was lost on the young man. We were accused of skipping out on the tab from our previous visit. Mercifully, we had paid with a card and quickly proved our innocence. We received no apology for the mistake. That was not the problem, however. An apology could not have salvaged the situation. The accusation was the problem. To call someone a criminal…in public, one had better be damn sure a crime has been committed. We left the disputed amount as a tip on on what will be our final visit; that is, we left the cost of our business.

Avoid. Note to management: we found this place five years ago. Just about the only appealing thing was the great staff. So, you might want to tell your baldy 50-ish barman that, if he must ignore punters entering while he smokes outside, he could not smoke stuff so strong that he doesn't know what planet he's on when he eventually returns to the bar. Ridiculous.

We had a wonderful evening last week at this lovely pub in the old quarter. Great atmosphere and cheap prices. We were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped through the door. Will definitely be returning next time we’re in Nice.

We had a fantastic night out here on our visit to Nice. It was open mic night and there were some great singers, not your usual karaoke level, no backing tracks but real live musicians playing. The guitarist and drummer were amazing. We thought we'd call in for one at 8.30pm but had such a great time we didn't leave until after midnight. Great mixture of customers from Ireland, America, England and France. The landlord Paul was lovely and there was a great atmosphere. Luckily we didn't have to walk far at the end of the night. 🍻🥂

(Translated by Google) If you are British, you feel a bit like home, although Irish or Scottish pubs I have known better, whether at the level of atmosphere, service or choice of drinks (nothing solid on the menu, otherwise a poor ' packet of crisps). Here, we speak English and pretend not to understand French. In short, for a clientele of insiders. "ENGLISH version: this place is an abysmal dive: a sort of sinking ship (atmosphere, service, drinks ... no food except tiny potato chips bags). cheers! (Original) Si vous êtes Britannique, on se sent un peu comme chez soi, quoique des pubs irlandais ou écossais j'en ai connu des mieux, que ce soit au niveau ambiance, service ou choix de boissons (rien de solide au menu, sinon un pauv' paquet de chips). Ici, on parle anglais et on fait mine de pas comprendre le Français. Bref, pour une clientèle d'initiés". ENGLISH version: this place is an abysmal dive: a sort of sinking ship (atmosphere, service, drinks...no food except tiny potato chips bags). For the nostalgic of the tiny neighborhood pub, where you only feel welcome if you live in it! Cheers!

We came here to watch a Liverpool game and were pleasantly surprised at the service compared to some other places in the area. The barman was great and the drink was affordable. It lives up to its name as a snug with its nice small and cosy feel to it

Found this place while walking around the streets of the old nice !! Loved their live music night ! Sadly the bar gets quiet after 10pm . Since it’s a local , small bar , everyone is really friendly and nice !! Would love it if they had live music more frequently. Also they have some board games to play here :)

This tiny pub is found in the heart of old Nice and it is a friendly spot to meet people from other countries. I would consider it an Irish pub where the beer is reasonably priced especially for those Canadians whose $$ is low compared to the euro. Guinness was $5 euros and all other draught beer was $4...

We spent two nice evenings in this bar. The bartender is very nice and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Live music was a nice accompaniment for the evening.

Us Irish love a little home away from home and the Snug was just that, cold beer and warm smiles from staff. Great craic and good music. Great place to beat the heat in the sunny south of France.

Good place to meet and chat. Indoor and outdoor seating when we visited, although that meant cigarette smoke drifted indoors. Reasonable prices, unlike inflated drinks prices seen elsewhere.

We entered this place because it was raining heavily and we also saw happy hours were going on. The drinks were OK but the place was extremely dirty. There were small flies all over and everywhere you look there was dirt to be seen. That's not how a place should look like especially one that serves food and drinks. The place was quite buzy because of the happy hours that they offer. I would not be visiting this place again.
