Used to love this place but thr qulaity of food has change so drastically and the cost went up which is shocking since the food quality down inversely. After today’s visit we are officially done there which is unfortunate since we used love it so much

I review many restaurants. This has to be the most RACIST restaurant I've ever been in. I'm standing in line and a Caucasian woman walks in, cuts line, pays for her food, and walks out. The worst part is that the employees were making the excuse why they took her money before mine. "She is a call in order". So I made a call in order, went to pick up and guess what.....THEY MADE ME STAND IN LINE. I couldn't cut line because I made a call in order but if I was Caucasian I bet I could cut another race inside this racist establishment. ZERO STARS and JOEY'S RED HOTS has better Italian Beef and BETTER SERVICE.

Everything that my friend blabbers about this place is true. He recommended and suggested that I try this spot, which I did, and the food was really delicious and definitely one of the best. The location is pretty nice. There is accessible parking everywhere near and in the restaurant. It is a small spot with some outdoor seating, which is nice because when I went there it was quite busy, so I was seated outside. The staff were very welcoming when I came in. Each of them is nice and friendly. They have a huge menu with a variety of options. The prices are fair and reasonable too. I just got myself the highly recommended Italian beef, some fries, and a drink, and the cost of all of it is quite nice. The service was also quick, and the food was served hot and fresh. The portion of the food was great, especially the fries, but it was thinner. Italian beef is very simple to describe. It is so delicious. It has a generous portion of flavorful, fresh, and tasty beef that definitely melts in my mouth. I love it so much and I will definitely order it again and again. I also highly recommend this restaurant. The Italian beef sandwich here is one of the best.

The food is awesome, but the service is poor. They forgot to double dip my sandwiches which were very dry. I called and asked what happened and a teen girl worker said they were supposed to be double dipped and then no apology at all just silence for ten seconds because she was confused. I think they should hire better workers with manners.

We ordered the 9 inch super italian beef and a malt. The malt was grainy and tasted like fluff the beef was bland no flavor at all. We got two of them, I got the traditional one and my husband order his without the bun which is pictured below. He had more peppers and onions then anything no meat for it to be a super. We wasted 35.00 will not recommed this place for beef, I would rather go to fat Alberts on 69th and Ashland to get a real italian beef.

We've been going here for 13yrs and noticed the quality of food has changed something awful. Beef very very thin on dry bread. More bread then meat. Today we got the weirdest looks from the young crew on how I placed my order. I quess they don't like customers to customize. The Italian sausage was so dry I could hardly swallow. It wasn't fresh it was just sitting there for someone like me to get stuck with it! Four young kids preparing food in back two girls taking orders, hardly any customers and they couldn't give me a fresh Italian sausage and put real meat in the beef sandwich. Not the same place, service, attitudes or quality 🤔. One girl in front was not polite at all! We won't be returning but will spread the word. Shame, Penny pinching pocket robbers! Shame!

Although the food was good, the overall experience was not. My friend and I went to Pops today as it was near our school and figured it would be a good place to get lunch. After we ordered, got our food, and left, we noticed our receipt was wrong. We also missed some of our food. We called back to inform them what happened and the woman on the phone was very nice and helpful - she offered us two solutions; a store credit or we could come back and get the missing food. We chose option two - however, this is where the problem starts. They only gave us the missing fry but did not give us the value back for overcharging our bill. We each got a large meal which was advertised as $5.99 (including a sandwich, large fry, and large drink). I got a spicy chicken sandwich meal which should have only been $5.99 but I was charged $6.70 for the sandwich AND the $5.99 for the meal. My friend got a wrap and also asked for the large meal but was charged al-a-carte. When picking up the missing food, the person who took our order explained that she actually "saved us money" doing it that way because the cost of the wrap, fries, and water (which was $0.25) was cheaper than the $5.99 meal. This is not true. We ended paying close to $28 for two meals and wasn't given anything to compensate for the inconvenience to come back for food we already bought but didn't receive. The lady who answered the phone was nice but when we got there only offered the explanation of the mix up being due to their new system....Although the food was good, we will no longer be going there due to feeling ripped off.

Always looking for a local spot and this was a great find so many menu items didn’t know what to choose- friendly staff suggested the beef sandwich and it was delicious juicy and a lot of food - large fries was LARGE I definitely recommend

I had to come back and change my review. Although I previously gave this place a 5 start rating, they've since changed their crew as well as their prices. Neither are helping bring in new customers or keeping regulars. By the looks of these review I am not the only one noticing the quality of this place diminishing. My usual order has more than doubled in price withing the last year with the portions getting much smaller.

When I first moved out here 3 years ago this was my go to spot for the breaded steak sandwiches. Over the past year the quality of food I've been served has gone down. I decided to give it another try today after not going for a few months and the breaded steak sandwich I got was the driest I've ever had. It BARELY had any red sauce on it. The steak itself was so hard it just wasn't an enjoyable sandwich by any means. Hopefully things start turning around again.

After requesting extra mayo at time of ordering, they gave my sandwich to me without the request not once but twice, and wanted me to place my own mayo on a order that cost $16 The manager's and clerks fixing the orders attitude was extremely rude to the point of racism. Won't be patronizing this location any more.

It's a rare thing for us to say an Italian beef was made right. Pops beef was really good. Really really good. Even at our favorite beef stand I won't take peppers and make my own. The sweet peppers were properly made too! This may be my new #1 beef place in Chicago.

Successful local restaurant. Strong local clientele. Lots of menu choices including one of my favorites, tater tots. Quick service with 3 counter ladies, a manager, and 4 folks in the kitchen area. Pop's is serious about their customers. No long wait because of staff shortages. Which is a big deal these days.

Pops is our go to for a tasty meal when we don't feel like cooking. Their chicken sandwiches/wraps are great. Remember to add an order of fries and some fried zucchini! You'll love it!

Went there for the first time. Wasn't really satisfied how the beef is shaved and really thin thiin prices . I called the store manager and he explained how they prepare their beef. He told me he's going to honor me 3 meal deals to satisfy our concerns. we really appreciated by his thoughtfulness on gaing our customer concerns. Thank you Angel

Great beef. Ordered catering trays for a tailgate. Beef turned out amazing. The side of macaroni salad was not well received by my guests. Wanted potato salad but they were out on this day. All time favorite with the beef.

Phoned in an order for seven people and was told it would be 15-20 mins. Got there and paid 25 mins later. After waiting for 15 mins, I asked if my order was almost ready and was told they were waiting on fries. It ended up taking about 45 mins from when I called the order in. It would have been nice if someone at least said sorry it was taking so long instead of looking at me like I crazy for asking. Better off just going in to order instead of calling ahead. I wouldn’t have minded as much if the food was good, but it was disappointing. The double BBQ rib sandwich was not good - didn’t even finish half of it and couldn’t figure out what was supposed to be doubled bc there was just one flat piece of meat. The jalapeño poppers were hallow - no cheese inside - only a couple thin shreds of peppers. The corn nuggets were corn dogs - or they gave us the wrong item. The beef and cheddar had very little cheese. This is a usual spot we order from, but after today I don’t think we’ll be back any time soon.

So good!! Only thing is I wish they gave you more than just two slices of peppers, albeit they were big slices. The beef was real, the rolls were soft and the meal was delicious.

Very first visit. Much to my delight the salad did not disappoint. It was filled with chicken and cheese,turkey. Very filling. My son had a double hotdog.. the cashier was very accommodating to his ketchup request eventhough we are in Chicago. Staff over all was very pleasant. I will definitely return!

Been here my whole life and the beef sandwich is always amazing! The fries are so good too! I love that they have a kids size beef sandwich if you’re not that hungry. I’ve heard the sausage sandwich is really good!

They really messed up on my food and the lady up front was being super disrespectful and took the order of 2 people in front of me then said she isn't taking my order to wait for the other person when it was clearly my turn. Discrimination to the fullest singled me out yoo bogus
