The best breakfast sandwich I have ever had! I ordered the bestest with the vegan egg and vegan patty, along with the salted caramel latte. We shared a cinnamon roll which was pretty good but for $5 it wasn’t special. A lovely meal and didn’t completely break the bank!

Absolutely delicious food whether you have food intolerances or not. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had with GF Focaccia and vegan cheese. The GF bread was light, airy and not at all dense which is a feat for GF baking and was the perfect vehicle for my sandwich. Since it was my first visit, the owner kindly gave me a slice of Double Chocolate Pepita Bread to sample and it was flavorful, moist and a delight. My regular food eating husband loved his generously portioned breakfast bowl and found the cinnamon roll delicious but not too unhealthy tasting. Indoors was cute but the A/C was so cold I found it preferable to sit outside. Highly recommend, can’t wait to try something new on a future visit.

#Chicagofoodtogo. Smack Dab co-owner Christine and crew thank you for the great service with a smile. The presentation of the packaging and quick readiness of the food was fast and fresh. My preference for diet restriction was respected. The pics do not describe the taste. Every bite is decadent. And don't forget a cup of brew. So good we made it back this week. We got the best seller, the hash, a cookie, lemonade, and of course the doughnut.

We really love this place. They have wonderful breakfast sandwiches. The biscuits are to die for and the bacon jam is great. One of the best things are the donuts. They usually have three flavors to choose from, like cold brew, or raspberry, and the classic cinnamon and sugar. The coffee is wonderful as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The place is a little pricey but not prohibitive. One fun special is on Wednesdays called the Holy Trinity which is when you get a breakfast sandwich, a donut or muffin and a coffee for $8. Not bad! I would highly recommend this place!

While yes a little pricey compared to McDonalds the service was fast the staff are friendly and you can sit and enjoy you meal inside or outside on the patio. I plan to return often -Update. 9-923 - i have been living in the neighborhood for a week now, and still love this place. The food is full of flavor, the service is still great, I only wish I could eat hear more often **added photos ***

I was lucky to have stumbled upon Smack Dab when they were just a pop up - first at pub 626 and then at Rogers Park Social on Glenwood. The cheesy biscuits keep me coming back - but their community involvement and dedication to their employees is what makes me shout their praises to anyone who will listen. I love that they make pizzas and other holiday specials like paczki and king cake. And if you haven’t tried the vegan chocolate Pepita bread, you’re missing out!

I've been a loyal customer of Smack Dab since 2017 when I used to live in the area. Even though I've moved since then, I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in the city or whenever I can squeeze in a visit because it's truly worth it! There's one sandwich that I absolutely adore, and it has become my go-to order every single time: the best seller with tomato jam and Chipotle Mayo. It's just perfection! What holds it all together is the wonderfully cheesy herb biscuit, which adds that extra touch of deliciousness. When it comes to drinks, I always go for the maple latte for myself and a cappuccino for my husband. Our toddler is also a big fan of everything they make, but the donuts are definitely the ultimate winner in our household. And oh, do yourself a favor and try their almond croissant too, because it's simply too good to miss out on! What's even more impressive about Smack Dab is their commitment to giving back to the community. It warms my heart to know that they care about making a positive impact. On top of that, the staff members are all genuinely nice human beings, which adds to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Sending so much love and gratitude to Smack Dab, and I truly hope they continue to thrive and bring joy to people for many years to come!

Smack Dab has become our go-to breakfast spot on our way to the beach in rogers park. Here's what great about smack dab: 1. The food is good and theres something for everyone to enjoy, whether a meat-eater, vegetarian, or vegan. As a meat-eater who doesn't eat pork, i was super excited that their biscuits and gravy is made with chicken sausage rather than porch. They also have vegan sausage. The biscuits are great, the croissaint egg sammies are great, (didn't love their bagels... Sorry!), And the CARDAMOM COLD BREW IS TO DIE FOR. Also, good size portions at a reasonable price. 2. They take covid precautions very seriously and this shows a community-mindedness that is very meaningful for me as a i choose who to give my dollars to. 3. In a similar vein re-community minded, it's a very queer friendly spot, with pride flags decorating the outdoor space. 4. Their outdoor seating is cheerful and comfortable. 5. They are quick without compromising quality.

I saw a video for this sandwich on Chicago’s best and I had live so close to this place and never tried it. I decided to give it a shot. The sandwich had a unique herbaceous flavor, I didn’t like how dry everything was but that can be fixed with MORE BACON SPEAD! Overall it’s a unique must try!

Really really good food. Great coffee. Super friendly staff. Online/ kiosk ordering. Outdoor seating, parking. Top notch customer service. We actually had another customer take our food by mistake from the pickup area. This is a little frustrating because there is a bit of a wait at this place, for good reason! The manager took care of it right away, had our order refired, gave us free donuts! We were eating within 7 minutes. No one wants to have this type of experience but it's nice to know if you do it will be corrected.

Best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! The bestest breakfast sandwich was my order and it was delicious. It is definitely a savory/sweet combo, so order if you enjoy food with those combined profiles. The standout was the ‘bread’ or biscuit which was a different texture, but it seemed to just melt in your mouth. I really recommend eating here if you’re in the area.

What a great out of the way spot! A hidden gem in a non-descript strip mall, this breakfast sandwich on a cheesy biscuit is overflowing with egg and cheese and pork sausage. Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches in all of Chicago, and includes a side of home fried potatoes. Cafe du Mond coffee is served here. Definitely worth the visit!

Breakfast sandwich fell apart before I could take a bite. Not recommended. The cinnamon roll is a worthy contender. Do I need to scream to get a joe refill?

I wanted to check out this place before I left Chicago and it did NOT disappoint! So YUMMY. The biscuit, egg sandwich was so filling, it satisfied me all day. The coffee was delicious and you could taste the love. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly by the owner and the worker behind the counter. You are told to choose a table and the numbers had tarot cards. All in all a hearty, enjoyable experience I highly recommend.

Hyper-local. So delicious. So deliciously queer. I don’t even know where to begin raving about this local gem. I first experienced the joy of Smack Dab when they were a tiny pop up donut vendor in a bar on Sunday mornings. When they set up a permanent location two blocks from home, I knew my wallet would never be the same. When I moved from Rogers Park to the ‘burbs, I found lots of good alternatives but nothing quite compares and I still make the 20 minute drive regularly not only for the donuts but also the joyful, queer, welcoming atmosphere. Smack Dab feels like home, in all the best ways. The donuts are special in a way I can’t actually describe so just go get some. (And they’re vegan?!) The Life-Changing Breakfast Sandwich isn’t on the menu anymore but it truly changed my life (Onion. Jam. Chive. Bar. Mayo.). All the food is super tasty, and there are lots of vegan AND gf options. Sitting on the patio in the sunshine surrounded by pride flags year-round is an amazing way to spend a morning. They support local nonprofits with a percentage of sales. If you visit once, you’ll be delighted. If you visit regularly, you’ll be recognized and feel loved. If you follow them on instagram, sometimes there’s a cute baby. So go get your coffee and a donut and support an amazing local business. You will not regret it for a second (unless you’re dieting but that’s bad for your health anyway, so go to Smack Dab and save yourself)!

This place is great! I like that their menu is so flexible. The vegan burrito was awesome and my carnivore husband liked the biscuit sandwich. They looked popular and busy on a Saturday morning (with take out orders). Only one party is allowed inside at a time which seems good because it’s a small space.

The breakfast sandwich was unbelievable. I ate it with a fork because it was so big. The eggs, cheese, and chicken sausage together were so savory. I would definitely come back. I ate outside, and they even brought me my food. Great little spot!!

Went for the first time and loved the vibes. I especially love all the artwork and commitment to inclusion and justice evident in the space. Tried their seasonal sweater weather latte, it felt like putting on a wool sweater that was in the kitchen while holiday dinner was being made (toasty and herbal) as well as the latke sandwich special. Savory, messy, and a delight to eat! The pimento grits were also creamy and comforting. I will promptly be hibernating after this meal. It's quite a trip up from the southside, but was well worth it and will definitely visit again!

I went here with a friend and it was good, but sadly, not great. They only had one server, and I felt really bad for them having to cover both the indoor and outdoor seating. There seemed to be a lot of BOH staff for such a small place. I ordered a maple latte that was pretty disappointing. It was lukewarm and lacked flavor. My breakfast sandwich, the best seller, was yummy but not worth the price point in my opinion. My friend loved her dish, the Indian sandwich with a side salad. One perk is they are in a strip mall, so there’s easy parking. I’m not in a rush to return, but overall it wasn’t a bad experience, there’s just room for improvement.

This is my hands down favorite spot for breakfast!! Their homemade herbed biscuits and delicious egg combos are hard to beat. And the owners are the nicest people you have ever met who really care about their community. They are incredibly generous, hardworking and have been rewarded with hyper loyal customers like myself. Despite the struggles of running a hospitality business during a pandemic, they continue to host free community dinners and give a percentage of their revenues to important causes. Plus, did I say that their food is incredible to boot?? Always tasty, freshly prepared with some inventive specials thrown in.

Smack dab is one of my favorite restaurants and a truly valued part of Rogers Park! From the fantastic food and welcoming atmosphere to the work that they do to get back to the community, it’s been one of the first places that I truly felt at home in a new city ❤️ You can’t beat their vegan donuts or cold brew- trust me!!

I absolutely loved it! The queer energy and positive aura of the place is so welcoming and the seating is comfortable. The food was made quick and despite it being made so fast, it was the best breakfast food I've ever had! I will definitely be dining here again.

The outdoor tables were lovely, the water jug inside was great to be able to get cold water. You can order at the kiosk or at the window. You get a little text message when the food us ready to grab. My friend and I had been wanting to try Smack Dab for a while and I am so glad we came! Love the color and concept. The little donuts were different but good. The breakfast sandwich looked amazing and my friend said it was good (I just had a bagel and cream cheese). Will be back really soon to try a sandwich and hoping to try some quiche.

Ordered online over two hours ago. Still waiting outside in the parking lot more than 20 minutes after they said it would be ready. Just informed me they are running 45 minutes behind. They already took our money online. We will never come here again.

The bagel lox a cream cheese was delicious. Was it a New York BLC? No, but it’s not supposed to be. The ratios are perfect, not too much of anything. Whatever they do to the smoked salmon is amazing. The flavor of the biscuit was great, but the texture wasn’t quite‘biscuity’. Looking forward to going back to Smack Dab soon.

I didn't have high expectations for this place, but it was completely different to what I thought. The place is cozy, and definitely fun to eat in. I got a burrito and it was below average, wouldn't eat it again. However, my wife got "the best" and it was really really good, it had some avocado and a sauce that made it incredible. Also, everything in the menu is mainly for breakfast...

Fabulous! Pizzas are fantastic thin-crust. The way options for vegan/veggie/dairy free make life simple. And the cookies are good too!

Breakfast sandwiches are the bomb dot com. Pizza blows my socks clean off. The people who run it are quite simply the best. If I had to eat only one restaurant’s food for the rest of my life I would eat Smack Dab and have a great time doing so.

I absolutely love Smack Dab! They have great seating options, both indoor and outdoor. It's very comfy cozy. They have a diverse menu for different dietary needs. As a vegan, I am always thrilled to see clearly labeled and expansive options on a menu. My go to are the cinnamon sugar donuts and the vegan breakfast sandwich (pictured). I literally dream about the jam on this sandwich.

I love this place! First, their pizza is amazing, EVERY TIME. Next, they are so kind and pay attention to every little detail. I’m a chef and super picky about Chicago places, but they are great always. Not to mention, they have a community dinner once a week and it’s super helpful to peeps in need and always vegan. I’m not vegan, but enjoyed it. Thanks guys!

This place was delicious! I'm normally not a biscuit person, but the herb biscuit was soft and not super dry, and most importantly, tasty! Had the best seller and added chicken sausage; I would DEFINITELY order that again. Grab a strawberry guava donut for gluttony and didn't regret it 😋. To drink had the CBD infused smokey vanilla latte with oat milk and it was basically breakfast dessert, quite wonderful. 10/10. Cool ambiance too, staff is helpful. Seating outdoors only is a available, but limited.
