The interior of the theater is more stunning than the exterior and I love the exterior... Went to our first show the other night, midnight oil, and it was a great experience. Great sound quality and great views. Definitely a place that I want to come back to and experience another show in. I went on YouTube after the show and saw Metallica and Green Day videos playing at the Fox and I certainly wish I was there for those! Great bars (be sure to tip the bartenders!) with a good selection of wine beer and liquor. All of the staff that we met were friendly and helpful. Will be back!

This a truly lovely theater and a wonderful venue for a concert. I sat way back in the balcony, but still had a good view of the stage. My daughter and friend were on the floor in GA, and they were so happy to have found a step to stand on so they could see. The sound quality was excellent, and the inside of the theater was gorgeous. We parked about three blocks away, so it was a short walk. There were several options for food nearby. We had Shake Shack!

A majestic theater with a sense of divinity. You feel as though you are in an opera house. The acoustics are excellent with sound resonating throughout the venue. There is ample seating with great views everywhere especially in the balcony area.

This was my first visit to the Fox Theater and it probably won’t be my last. From the moment we were greeted by the folks guiding us to the entrance to the greeting from the hot dog vendors as we departed, it was a great experience! This place is truly a blast from the past. It is classic and beautiful. Everything was neat and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. There is a large bar at the entrance and several smaller bars located within the theater. The acoustics on the lower floor were excellent. We came to see Jose Gonzales perform and he did not disappoint. We discovered him a couple years ago on the Walter Mitty soundtrack. He is a very talented musician from Guttenberg, Sweden. Check out the Fox and give a listen to Jose if you are up for something different.

This venue is really nice lots of employees there to help. Practically a bar everywhere you turn you won’t go thirsty here, let alone have to wait for a drink. The layout is incredible. Will be back for more shows.

beautiful venue! i saw mitski live and the acoustics were very good. the theater is relatively small but the staff is good at staying organized. there is not a lot of space for lines so the lines to get it wrap around the block.

My first time attending the Fox. Really impressed. Good sound system. Amazing artists. Plenty of dance space. Staff are great. This venue reminds me of the Warfield SF. I look forward to seeing another concert at the Fox.

Wow... one of the nicest venues in the SF Bay Area... great bars, cool vibe to the place... and amazing sound, considering it was a loud metal rock show we attended... just a gorgeous historical theater... can't wait for the next chance I get to go there for a show!

The Fox is such a wonderful venue; they did an interior design upgrade about a decade ago?? It's fantastic inside. Down on the floor in GA, or up in the balcony, either way I always have a blast. Have seen so many big names here; grateful that where I'm from attracts as talented of artists as it does and we don't always have to go to San Francisco for live performances. The Den - the bar attached to the Fox - is also super cute and has an eclectic selection of seating arrangements which pairs nicely with a pre-concert drink.

Terrific medium sized venue with good sound and visibility for people. Friendly staff and crowd is generally chill. The box office is to the side of the venue for will call tickets, and they have metal detectors on the way in, so expect a slight delay if you've got a bag. There's paid parking near the venue, but you can generally find somewhere to park for free nearby, but might have a walk to get there.

Easily the coolest venue I've ever been to! The line to get in was quick, the bartenders were nice, and the venue decor was super interesting. There are two massive Brahmin statues ("Buddhas" as the fox website describes) on either side of the stage, that give the whole theater a unique, temple like aesthetic that enhances the performance experience. There was many tiers of standing areas, so it was possible to get a good view even if you are short (which can be a problem in some venues).

The Fox Theater in Oakland is a must-visit destination for any live music fan. From the moment you step through the doors of this historic venue, you are transported to a world of music and art that is truly magical. The grandeur of the theater's architecture is stunning, with its towering columns, intricate carvings, and ornate decorations that are sure to impress. Arrive early if you expect to park anywhere close. The location is perfect for grabbing dinner close by and walking to your show. The Fox Theater in Oakland is an absolute gem of a venue. It's my favorite indoor concert venue of all time. With its stunning architecture, unbeatable sound quality, and intimate atmosphere, it's the perfect place to lose yourself in the magic of live music ✨

Great venue! It's so beautiful inside. The bars are easy to get to, super friendly staff and lots of booze to buy. Bathrooms were clean as well, which was a nice surprise. They have a coach check where you can get ear plugs if needed. Highly recommend checking out a show here, easy parking, good neighborhood.

Fox Theater, in my book, is THE most beautiful venue to see a live concert in- period. I'll never not be in awe here. Not to mention, the restrooms are large and clean, with first aide stations nearby. There are also convenient great lil theater bars that provide quick and quality service and drinks. The seats are comfortable, clean and come with drink holders. How fortunate the Bay Area is to have such an awesome venue like Fox Theater.

Truly one of the nicer bay area venues if it not the nicest. There are many landmark venues like this but none of them taken care of this well and kept active all the time. Sound system is definitely a highlight too..

great venue! Saw Haim there. The bathrooms were super clean and there wasn’t really ever a wait for drinks. The decor is also really great. Would definitely see another show there if I had the chance.

Saw Tash Saltana. Best....show...ever! The venue was beautiful, I haven't been there in so long but it handled a packed house very well. The crow was unbelievably welcoming but not all of the staff was as friendly as the rest. But I have no complaints. Great venue, still a great location, Oakland for sure. Definitely a must visit location when you have the chance.

Fox Theater is really cool and a nice place to see a band. I saw TV Girl there First, it is in downtown Oakland, but don't be afraid it's actually in a decent area. Also it has plenty of parking everywhere and the best part is that it is cheap! The huge parking garage near Fox has a deal with the theater, and you only pay $5! Other Pros: Good sound. Really could hear great at every angle of the theater. Awesome bathrooms. They are huge, clean and easy to access. Bars everywhere. So no trouble getting a drink. Easy in and out. Lots of doors and so you just walk out no worries. Merch line was long but went super quick. Think it was 10 minutes with a huge line which is great. The only real con and it is more of a "is what it is" the place is a big venue so if you want a more intimate concert this isn't happening. But again not a bad seat in the house.

It has been a long time since I last visited the beautiful Fox theater. I love it every time I get a chance to attend a show here. Oakland has changed so much over the past decade, due to many different reasons, with gentrification, perhaps, being one of the biggest reasons, among other long-standing social-economic issues that have plagued this city. Anyhow, I got to spend the evening in the graceful presence of Ludovico Einaudi and his special solo performance here at Fox Theater during his American tour. His music is so much more wonderful LIVE! The simplicity of this man's presence and his piano was such elegant of a view, a feast for both eyes and ears. Music like this can calm a crying child, regulate your nervous system, and take your mind to a whole different world. It is pure CLASS! If you're a fan of classical music and get a chance to see this man's performance in real life, I'd highly recommend it. It's worth every penny. P. S. I'm thankful for the sincere older gentleman who worked at the nearby parking lot on Telegraph Ave. He was kind enough to accompany me on a walk to the nearby ATM so I could get some cash to pay him for the parking fee. I so appreciate his kindness and our conversation along the way.

I'm always grateful to have Fox as a top venue. The staff is friendly and getting there by Bart is amazing. I particularly like that volumes are kept in check and appropriate. Thank you audio and sound teams!

Great venue. Good drinks, friendly bartenders. The concert staff were really awesome. Plenty of bathrooms, which means there wasn’t a line, not even in the women’s! Which is a miracle. The show had great sound, the venue isn’t huge so great views pretty much anywhere. I look forward to going back.

The fox theatre was a great old school venue that didn't have a bad seat in the house. I would recommend any concert that is being held there. Easy in and out so your not stuck in traffic getting out.
