Wonderful geographic location, accessible from Nairobi City Offers great variety of amenities and good services, both to solo, group or even corporate team building activities. Has ample space for recreational activities. Fabulous security and to some extent, comparatively offers a little bit of serenity Spacious and secure parking lots available with accessible entrance to people with disabilities

Owner is not trustworthy, lied about prices and did not refund money after we figured out that he raised prices for us by 300% comparing to previous visitors. Don’t recommend

Unfortunately, my experience at Lodge Ololo located in Nairobi National Park was far from positive. It was the first lodge we stayed in during our trip to Kenya, and I had high hopes for a memorable stay. However, we gradually discovered one bad experience after another. Firstly, the quality of the food was quite disappointing, especially during dinner. The taste and presentation of the dishes left much to be desired, which affected our overall gastronomic experience. Moreover, we had an unpleasant incident with the driver who took us to the airport. He was insistent and unfriendly in demanding a tip from us. When we told him we didn't have cash, he asked us to leave the airport and find an ATM. This put us in an uncomfortable situation and made us feel pressured. Another significant issue was the constant noise from passing airplanes, as the airport is situated close to the lodge. From 5 in the morning until midnight, loud planes kept coming and going, making it impossible to relax or get a good night's sleep. We had to use noise-canceling headphones during the day and earplugs at night. Furthermore, we witnessed an act of cruelty towards a monkey by the lodge owner. The monkey approached the pool, and instead of handling the situation with compassion, the owner threw a stick at the monkey and then hit it in front of everyone, including the children. It was an extremely disturbing and unprofessional scene. In summary, my experience at Lodge Ololo was quite negative due to the poor quality of the food, the inappropriate behavior of the driver, the constant airplane noise, and the cruel incident with the monkey. These factors affected our stay, and I would not recommend it to other travelers, especially those looking for a relaxing and respectful experience with nature and local wildlife.

We loved it! As a young couple, we've been there to experience the Safari and we've had a 2 days accommodation at the Lodge. we really have to say it was amazing! they've taken very good care of us. the room was so beautiful, the view over the Nairobi National park from the terrace was outstanding! James and Steve, the guys, that took for us while at the Lodge are so nice, warm and reactive. They even prepared us breakfast very early in the morning (5AM) for the safari ride, even if that was not included in their 'to-do list' Sam, the guy that took care of us for the safari, wow, what a guy! so knowledgeable, he managed to fulfill us every single request - including seeing the lions!!! Conclusion: if you want to feel spoiled and to be somewhere remote, to eat well and delicious, to do the safari and see beautiful animals, Ololo is the place! We would definitely return!

With the location being in Nairobi National Park you get unique views of wildlife and a buzzing city in the background with animals that are not too shy about cars which is ideal for a game drive. You are close enough to Nairobi to visit things like the National Museum, Elphant Sanctuary or Giraffe Center but you still feel in the middle of the wild. I also took the chance of visting the Kitengela Hot Glass workshop as it was only a 20 mins walk from the lodge for a demonstration and to make my own glass vase, which you should definitely add to your to-do list if you get the chance! Apart from the great location, what stood out for me is that everyone in Ololo just seemed happy to be there and that they loved what they do. From the guides, to the cooks and the farmers sourcing the food for the kitchen, everyone had a great disposition to make the best out of my stay. Specifically to the lodge, the installations are very comfortable and clean and I also took advantage of extra things the lodge offers such as the farm tour, massage and the safari planning services which i would definitely recommend!

Absolutely terrible experience, on arrival the rooms were not ready and there was a delay of 6 hours. Never returning, and if you want to have a good holiday- keep clear of this establishment.

I loved my time here though it's best to go with 4Γ—4 as the road is a bit rough. The views through the park make it worth it. We had come for lunch which was delicious and the service was great too. It best to call and make reservations as they make food on order which is amazing! My family and I had a good time!

I absolutely loved my stay at Ololo Lodge. I was lucky enough to be there when the owners were staying. They and all the staff embraced me and it felt like home. I was also lucky enough to have some very special lion and rhino sightings with the fantastic guide, George. Everything about this place is beautiful. It has views over the National Park and yet easy access to other places such as Karen nearby. I hope to return.

Lovely place. Small cute lodge overlooking the Nairobi National park. Great for a staycation or if you want a night away from the hustle and bustle of the city but you don't want to travel far. The game drive was awesome food was great. Only small hicupp was the lady that we were communicating with via email forgot to tell the rest of the team that we had booked a game drive for the evening and also it was my birthday and that we had ordered a cake. Am glad they did makeup for that mishap. Overall a great place. I will definitely go back.

Lovely lodge just at the edge of Nairobi Natural Park. You can spot animals directly from the pool/front lawn (the monkeys will come and say hello, if you let them). The food is great and most of the ingredients are sourced directly from the farm on site - it doesn't get fresher than that!

Ololo exceeded our expectations. The location is hard to beat. On journey from the entrance to the park to the lodge, our excellent driver showed us some amazing animals including rhinos and giraffes and even stopped to show us an elderly tortoise basking by the roadside. The Lodge itself is beautiful, tranquil and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and extremely thoughtful and helpful. The food was excellent. Fresh from Ololo’s organic farm and carefully prepared by the kitchen. On top of that, the family that run the lodge were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended. Huge thanks.

The place is lovely, some beautiful views of NNP, it has an amazing location. The rooms are charming and clean. The staff is wonderful (we love Kenyan people) and the food which is sourced by their own farm is delicious. We had a great stay, the safari drives were superb!

We stayed at Ololo Safari Lodge in July 2021, and the best way to describe it is a hidden gem within Nairobi National Park. We had finished a five-night trip in the Maasai Mara and wanted somewhere we could relax, and this was the perfect place to do that. We were picked up at the gates by Sam, our guide, and we loved his introduction. Even though we had already seen so many animals, he took the time to show us around the park and explain what we could see. He is such a great guy. When we arrived at Ololo, we were blown away. It was a beautifully sunny, chilly afternoon and the whole lodge felt like a breath of fresh air. We were greeted by James, who would be looking after us whilst staying. He made sure we were happy throughout our stay and always had a way to make us smile! Peter and Brian took care of our luggage. We already felt at home! I was also happy to meet Francis, who I had been communicating with on email before arrival. Even though we had the option to do game drives, we decided to take a few days to rest and enjoy all the lodge had to offer. We did visit Sheldrick Wildlife trust, and this transfer was included as part of our stay. Our tented cottage was beautiful, and we loved the surroundings on site. It was so great to see all the majority of food is grown or sourced on-site, which made for a few days of excellent feasting. We had a guided tour of the farm by the very knowledgeable Duncan, and this is a must-do whilst staying at Ololo! I also had a great chat with one of the Maasai, Frederick. You must say hi to him. The fact there is the farm, the workshop and lodge all on-site, you will be delighted staying here. The food is seriously so good, so I say, eat every meal at the lodge! We met Joanna, the owner, who was lovely to chat to and find out about the lodge. We also got to met the cheekiest of staff, Fred. Fred is a golden retriever puppy who gave us much entertainment while staying. Our stay also included a return transfer to the airport by Emmanuel. I would highly recommend staying at Ololo Lodge and thank you to the whole team for looking after us. We can't wait to visit again!

I went here for lunch. Very nice ambiance with great view. But workers do their job very slowly and we waited for long for everything. We still could enjoy exploring in the place and watching animals while waiting though. I really loved their bread, it was very delicious but the food wasn't worth for 3500ksh. Don't follow Google maps, you can check the way on their website. And it's pretty rough road, make sure you ride 4WD car.

Beautiful Lodge on the southern edge of Nairobi national park. Amazing views on the park, great service and decor, lovely fresh food prepared with ingredients from the farm. Expect vegetarian options but less so for vegans!

First off all the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent, would visit just for the food. Fresh produce from own garden and generally a very high standard. Nice view of the national park and Nairobi from the pool deck, garden and lounge. Rooms are modern with the historical touch. Stables rooms are cozy and warm. The hostess at the lodge is a delight. You feel welcome at once. Would come back a thousand times.

Had a business lunch after a safari drive. Great place, very well decorated and fine food. Highly recommended for lunch and afternoon leisure. The place somewhat on the airplane trajectories so it can be noisy sometimes.

I am compelled to share my harrowing experience at this lodge, a place that would have otherwise held promise if not for the appalling behavior of its owner, Stella. To put it bluntly, Stella's conduct during our stay was beyond rude; it was utterly disgraceful. The nightmare began when we discovered that the tented cottage we were assigned bore no resemblance to the idyllic images we had seen online. It was a shocking misrepresentation of reality, and we felt deceived. We kindly approached Stella to address our concerns, expecting a reasonable discussion. Instead, she met us with an astonishing level of hostility and disdain. Stella's response was nothing short of a command: "Pick your stuff and leave." No empathy, no attempt at resolution, just a brutal eviction. The utter lack of professionalism and basic courtesy left us stunned. It was as though she had no comprehension of how to interact with paying customers. Furthermore, the setting of the lodge only compounded our unease. The forest outside was not only eerie but also dense with ancient herbs, making it feel like a scene from a horror film. To top it off, the logistics of reaching the lodge were a nightmare, with endless waits for pick-up from inside the national park. The one silver lining in this dismal experience was the incredible hotel team, who, despite working under Stella's poor leadership, managed to maintain their warmth and professionalism. It's disheartening to think that such a talented and caring team is subjected to her leadership. My stay was marred by the sheer rudeness and unprofessionalism of Stella, who, without hesitation, evicted us from our room when we dared to express our concerns. I strongly advise against staying at this establishment until such time as Stella undergoes a transformation in her approach to customer service.

We had a fabulous stay at Ololo. It was both relaxing and exciting in equal measures. The location was amazing, easy access from the Nairobi Airport with a seamless pick up at Arrivals. The owners and all staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The food was to die for, and the attention to detail in the rooms and the shared spaces was really something. Twice daily game drives were available with the Ololo staff, who were very knowledgeable. There were also numerous other options for sightseeing or shopping for local handmade goodies, if you weren't happy to sit around the pool or on the terrace with a G&T. I'd highly recommend Ololo to anyone

What a wonderful place - the location is superb, the meals are organic and food is grown on the property, the views are unforgettable - giraffes walking by during breakfast, the only way to get to the property is through a safari ride - we arrived at night and saw lions hunting, safari rides are included in the stay. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was kind. One of my best memories of all my trips to Africa!

Amazing lodge, with really beautiful and well decorated rooms including the charming common areas where you can sit with a glass of wine. Over breakfast you look out at the Nairobi National Park while eating delicious food (lunch and dinner fantastic too!). The other good thing is that the lodge has direct access to the Park so you can go on game drives, the helpful Ololo Guides helped me spot cheetahs, lions, giraffes, zebra and much more! Loved it

What a location, that's the reason to stay at Ololo. One of the only two lodges that has access from the park, you are wowed from the movement you start your journey to the Lodge. The drive from the entrance gate at Nairobi National Park to the lodge wouldn't be disappointing. The entrance to the lodge across the river, on the bridge to the walk up to the property. All amazing. The next is the staff, always responsive to your needs and request. The guides are great fun with funny stories and ton of information and knowledge of the park. The food is great, with a set menu with a lot of variety. Only feedback here is that desserts can be upped. Something sweeter. A variety of types of room, very rustic and farm style. The rooms and bathroom especially need a bit of modernizing. My shower cubicle wouldn't drain properly and leak all over. Lack of plug points in convienent locations and weak wifi. Can do with an upgrade. Will be back.

Amazing place to take a break from your game drive and enjoy lunch. Their rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. The stunning views of the park from the room and restaurant are magical. Amazing set menu with a view of the Nairobi national park. We saw 2 giraffes and a buffalo while eating. Extremely peaceful slot as well but the road leading up to it if you are coming from rongai is very poor so make sure you call ahead and get detailed instructions as Google maps won't get you there!

I love organic farming so much peace of mind as far as food goes. The rooms are great. For the location, it is quite a distance from the Turmac road, and the road leading needs improvements to easy access.

Visited with two young children. Had a lovely experience. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was all very well prepared, fresh and flavourful. Food service was however a be a bit slow at times. Rooms were well decorated and spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Facilities and pool were great too. Got a lovely tour of the farm too. Only drawback was the noise from the airplanes pretty much through the night also.

We absolutely loved LOVED our stay in Ololo. The food was fantastic, the lodge amazing, the views out of this world - but it was the people, notably Steve and Kip who made our stay so special. Beautiful retreat, lovely setting and tasty food. But light sleepers beware. The resort is under the flight path of large airplanes landing at JKIA and, depending on schedules, it can mean a noisey night and not much sleep.

Nice place and had a great time, especially bringing wine on the game drives - however, minus stars for the execution of the covid tests arranged. While I am grateful for their help, we left 45 minutes early so that we can drop others off at the elephant orphanage. We then had to wait in the parking lot for our testing person to arrive. Once the 5 minute tests were done, we had to wait for the people to be done with the elephant orphanage. They were also likely overpriced as Ololo is probably charging more than the tests actually cost (even in the touristy part of Mexico covid tests don't cost $80). We originally thought we arranged for the covid test to be a stop at the end of a morning game drive. Ultimately, it wasted hours of our day, rushed us through breakfast and made us feel like we as guests and our time were less valued than those going to the elephant orphanage. You'd think with how much money you spend on a night at Ololo that they would be able to get a covid test to come to you.

Very nice spot , incredible location right on the far side of Nairobi National Park to the city. Staff were very friendly, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Had a few very nice game drives with Sam who is very knowledgeable of the area. A huge bonus of this location is your access to the wildlife before the big rush in the mornings and as the sunset is happening. The food was excellent, with a nice mix of international and local flavors and cuisines. Beers/drinks could have been colder, after hours in the afternoon sun it's so nice to have an ice cold drink waiting. One thing that was quite disappointing was the lack of hot water in the tents. Apparently there is a fire to heat this but we never got more than cool water. The morning game drives are pretty chilly so this would have been really nice. Overall, the only drawback was value, felt a little overpriced.

Could not ask for a more idyllic and convenient location only 40 mins outside of Nairobi but surrounded by the expanse and wilderness of the Nairobi National Park. On the drives in and out you pass wild giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos, etc etc. The decor and room types at Ololo are exquisite catering to couples or larger groups with ease. Every meal was delicious prepared largely with produce from the Ololo Farm. We were entirely spoilt by the warmth and expertise of the Ololo staff during our two week stay. Absolutely recommend as your base for travel within Kenya. One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at.

The contant stream of airplanes coming over is a killer for a bush lodge. Very disappointing experience. Also, the lodge refused to refund me properly. It cost me R12,000 for a one night stay with airplanes passing every 2-3 minutes. Please use caution and take earplugs when going to Ololo Lodge.

Tucked away from the busy town of Ongata Rongai... This one is a reclusive hide out for those who want some quiet and me time. Friendly staff... They have a farm adjacent to the lodge where the food supplies come from... Mostly organic... You can venture into a walk in the park... But you pretty much be walking in the real Nairobi National Park... So follow instructions and enjoy your time.

What a great place. It is pricey but worth it. Note, there is a significant resident discount. Our food was delicious. The staff is absolutely helpful, friendly and at the ready. If you're looking for a place to retreat for a weekend of even a few hours, then Ololo is your place. I went as a solo traveller and enjoyed my time there very much. It was so relaxing and comfortable. Though it's a small place, if you want your alone time, you can definitely get it. The food was excellent, and they use quality ingredients that they organically grow. The service was very good (shoutout to James). The rooms were neat, clean, and well decorated with much of the furniture made in their own workshop. The environment is ever so natural, being in the middle of the National Park that you forget you're still in the city. Expect, monkeys, hyraxes, and birds. However, don't expect a bounty of activities, especially if you're coming with family. This is more of a relaxed place to enjoy the nature around you and to slow down a little bit. If you're considering staying a night, Ololo is well worth the price point.

Nice escape from the city for brunch or lunch. Recommend driving through the park for the game drive to the lodge.

Not enough stars on Google for this place - accommodation is beautiful and the food is scrumptious. Would describe it as a posh boutique hotel rather than a safari get away..

I love the bridge that connects the wild and the lodge. A home away from home. Amazing parkview.

😠 Mbuzi choma was so delicious Has a bird sanctuary but they are charging Ksh 5,000 just to take photos of birds. best you take a walk outside the premises you will find more birds and the locals are very friendly too. they will show you around the nesting trees. Baboons are seen outside the premise...
