Standing Bear Lake

Lake

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Standing Bear has an amazing walking and biking trail around the lake. They just completed a floating dock so that you can make a complete circle around the lake. There is also a play ground area in two locations and a boat launch. There are always fisherman around but be careful when you park.... People often mention lake, park, trail, nice, walking, walk,

Standing Bear has an amazing walking and biking trail around the lake. They just completed a floating dock so that you can make a complete circle around the lake. There is also a play ground area in two locations and a boat launch. There are always fisherman around but be careful when you park. There have been break ins and my friend had her purse stolen out of her car. We walk there every day in summer and on weekends the rest of the year. It would be a good place to take pictures in summer because the paths are blooming with wildflowers.

The park is not at all convenient. The is only one barbeque grill between three entrances into the park. There is not enough parking spots. There is one pavilion that is way up a hill. Taking your stuff up the hill is a nightmare. I don't recommend this park if you are looking for a quiet place to hangout.

Nice little lake. No wake. Also no trail around the lake and very little shaded areas around the lake.

LOVE LOVE LOVE coming here in the evenings. One of the best places to watch the sunset. Nice walking trail. Perfect lake for kayaking. They have plenty of grassy space for picnics or reading. They also have a playground for the kids to play on.

This is a sad review for me to write, I’ve been walking this trail for awhile usually in the mornings, this morning was tragic as me and a few other cars had our windows smashed in and stolen from. Please be safe if you plan to visit as this happened at 9:30-10am this morning:(

The playground is unique. The cushion is sand. There are pretty spots for picnics. Larger areas for group gatherings. The lake is very visible, quiet, and not huge. It is a good place for the small fisherman. Not many walking areas here though.

the water used to be really nice I caught some big fish there but now there's so much vegetation under the water it's hard to catch anything--but Moss

Nice lake and park with large, shaded picnic area and a fairly big playground. Not much shade in most of the park though, trees are still pretty small. Has no permanent bathroom facilities but there are porta-potties available in the summer at least.

It's a quiet place with lots of blue gills in lake, no public bathroom just porta potties so have to leave to go to a sanitary bathroom cause they stink and are disgusting

Beautiful area to go hiking. My kid loved the part of the trail that turns into a dock. We saw some people kayaking as we crossed the water. It would be nice if they had more picnic tables, but otherwise we have no complaints. I'm sure we will be back again to explore more trails.

Such a beautiful lake park in NW Omaha. We really enjoy the walking trails.

Its a really nice lake/trail system. The main trail is freshly paved (without cracks and bumps) which is nice for wheeled travel. Bikes, scooters, roller blades ect will do just fine. The brush is trimmed and mowed where needed, but being next to a lake, there's lots of bugs. Bring bug spray if you wanna go for a walk or hang out. Theres lots of fishing spots and a few boat ramps, with ample parking aswell. Multiple entrances give you some options for trail traffic, some areas are more busy than others. Overall a really nice outdoor space. Lots to do and explore!

Attention Everyone!! While visiting this lake make sure do not leave anything expensive inside your car coz there are some people break into your windows and steal your stuff I request the PD to install some cameras there for security.

No water to be seen, unfortunate heat island effect for the first half mile from the east parking lot, parts of trails closed off preventing the ability to walk the whole loop

I love how easily we can lower our kayaks in the water and paddle around in such a relaxing environment!

Nice lake, I fish here and have danced a jig after catching a 3 pounder or two...not a huge lake, but well established. If you are driving W. on W. Dodge you will probably drive right by this lake...eyes forward...this is good spot to catch lots of fish. But a boat is essential. Say hi to Jim Flowers if you catch him here. Maybe you will see me dancing in my 2 man pontoon. No pics, keeping that a secret. Locals call this 5 Fountains, just to throw you off.

I went to have a picnic by the lake and imagine my shock to find the lake was completely gone other than a few puddles. The rest of the park looked nice, but if you’re going to relax and look at the lake it’s a real bummer.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I can say just one word to describe this place! "Peaceful" πŸŒ…... Omaha has amazing views. These pictures don't do the sunset justice. If you could see it in person, you'll be impressed in love!!!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ It is a great lake for a get together - it has shaded picnic tables, ample parking. There is a boat ramp and a pontoon. It is a good lake for paddle boarding.
