Went here for dinner tonight.. This small restaurant is soooooo bomb. Everything we ordered were delicious and the portions were HUGE. The flavors transported me back to my Thailand days.. The momo Tom yum pad thai (not on the photos) was on the saltier side thou, we preferred the taste of the regular pad thai. But nothing à squeeze of lime could fix. The calamari has so much flavor on it that you don't need any sauce. The papaya salad was properly spicy, just like how they serve it in BKK! (but you could ask for less spicy) try ordering it with the crab for a more depth of flavor. The mango sticky rice could use more coconut and sweetening! I'll come back tomorrow to try the other items on the menu. 😜

I didn't realize that the ownership is the same as Mo Thai in Mississauga (a fantastic place to grab delicious, halal takeout). The portions are massive, bring your appetite! They serve halal, vegan, and gluten free options. The owner stopped by to chat with us during our meal and her passion for hospitality is inspiring. It is steps from the subway station and the dining space is clean and spacious. I recommend trying the Tom Yum Pad Thai and the thai iced tea.

Really good Thai restaurant in the east end. Came on a Friday and got seated immediately as we had a reservation for 4 at 6:30PM. It was really busy when we walked in and it looked like they were fully booked for the night. We ordered a pad see ew with pork belly, pad thai, Khao soi and the roti pancake for dessert. All the mains were really good and came out quickly. The pad see ew was my favorite dish of the night and getting the pork belly is a must! I wouldn't recommend the roti pancake as I was expecting it to come out warm/hot, but it was disappointingly cold. Would highly recommend and come back. Be sure to book a reservation online as this place does get busy.

I’ve been to many many Thai restaurants and Sala remains my favourite. The food is so colourful and fresh, the presentation is beautiful!

Based on its unassuming exterior, you really are pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the inside of this restaurant is. The staff here are all very friendly and amenable to catering to a large group, and the food is delicious. They also turned down the lights and helped us sing happy birthday for my girlfriend. Would definitely like to come back to try their Sala pad Thai which is served in an egg crepe!

Came in on a weekend with some friends for some authentic Thai food. And they did not disappoint. We had pork belly pad thai, pork belly laab, khao soi along with some drinks. The thai green tea is my new fav. Service was attentive, she kept coming around to check if we needed anything. Reasonable pricing with good size portions. Place was nicely decorated. Will be returning soon.

Everything I try here is amazing! Deliciously, authentically spicy and flavourful. The curries with coconut rice are my favourite. Be sure to try the mango salad. Still working my way down the menu, I want to try eventually try everything.

Beef is super soft. Food is flavorful. My only concern is the reason why it’s probably too “flavorful” is because of MSG. (Monosodium Glutamate) The moment I had few spoonfuls of each dish we had, I felt bloated right away. Its a different kind of “full”. We couldn’t finish the food so we had ‘em to go. If you’re just looking for a good taste and a quick lunch/dinner this might be the place for you. Ambience has good vibes. I like the design on the walls and the minibar. There were two servers, the one that took our order was attentive and nice. We had to return the glass because there was a tiny fruit-fly floating on the water when we called the second server to change it, she hesitated and said it was because of the lemon squeeze which clearly was not. That’s not professional. These are small things that matter because you’re in the food industry that require safety and hygiene, and Chef Mo should address this for future encounters. Please when a customer requests to have something returned and changed please do it. Food best paired with beers. Parking by the street. Coming back? No.

Tried their pad sew with pork, pad thai and khao soi. They also have an array of hot sauces/oils on the table. Every dish was delicious! Also ordered the roti for desert which was very nice but did wish it was warmed instead of being room temp. Came on a Friday night and was very busy, be sure to make a reso in advance if possible.

The ‘Pad Thai’ is salty missing the sweet and sour taste and also not even a hint of the tamarind flavour at all. The noodles are too soft and clumpy. The ‘Papaya Salad’ has a good balance of sweet, salty and sour with a punch from the chilli. Mixing the Pad Thai with the Papaya Salad made the Pad Thai taste better.

Checked this place out with some co-workers. The atmosphere was great, and the waitress was super helpful. The food presentation was quiet nice, definitely unique. Flavors were bold and delicious. Definitely recommend this place for some good Thai food.

Service was prompt, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was casual yet elevated. We preferred the spring rolls and mango salad to start both were delicious, especially the mango salad. Loved experimenting with all the different house made condiments! I preferred the sala pad Thai which was SO delicious and big portion size. Great spot, definitely will come back!

As a world traveller and a foodie I love trying different cuisines but Thai is always my fave. My fave Thai food worldwide was always Twin Fish in Mississauga but Sala has now taken first place for the best Thai cuisine. Awesome flavour profiles in each dish, salty, spicy and sweet but each dish has a prominent flavour over the other. Will surely be back. Wanted to meet chef Mo but she’s in Thailand.

I visited the first time this past Saturday, October 15th. Staff were really nice, easy to talk to and approachable. I called 5 days before to make reservations and when I got there on the Sat., the seats they reserved were next to the front door. It was a cold day. I asked if I could sit elsewhere. They accommodated me which was very nice of them 😀 I ordered the calamari appetizer. A bit pricey but very tasty. I enjoyed trying the different sauces on the side. I shared a main course with my friend. There was the Giant Prawn special. We had it with Pad Thai. It was very good. Almost tasted like lobster!! Very tender. For dessert I ordered the homemade coconut 🌴 ice cream. Simply divine!!! I highly recommend this place. Would visit agaim!

Amazing place. We ordered the Pad kee mao with pork belly, pad grao pow with chicken, panang curry, spring rolls and the Thai calamari. Honestly, all the dishes were so so so good. This is a gem and this will become our go to place for Thai food. Highly recommend!

Small restaurant with authentic Thai food. Service and food were good. It is a smaller restaurant so I’d recommend making a reservation in advance. They do accommodate groups of 6 or 8, but I’d assume it’d be a long wait for walk ins. Their entrance has a cover to block out the wind and there’s another cover when you enter the restaurant. These are heavy and do a good job of blocking out wind. There was friendly service and we received paper menus. You can also scan their QR code. Ordering was easy and the food didn’t take long to arrive. The food had really good flavours. Highly recommend their desserts! Once we finished our food, one of the servers was quick to provide the bill and clear our table. They do take your water/drinks away as well so I’d assume they don’t expect you to stay once you’ve finished eating. That’s fair especially in a smaller restaurant where people are waiting for a table. Paid street parking is available and it was easy to find parking.

This place is a love! Nice, cozy and clean restaurant offers authentic thai cuisines. We had Pad thai, fish cake, tomyam soup and coconut Mango rice. All the items were amazing. The presentation of the dishes cools the mind. A bit expensive, but you get what you paid for.

Very popular restaurant so I would suggest you call in to check if tables are available. Food was all fresh, great flavour and seasoning, and good portions. Very authentic Thai dishes. Friendly staff were quick to serve our group of 6 and took the time to explain their dishes and flavour enhancer options. Thank you Sala team!

Delicious place to have Thai food. The manager and the people working there are so friendly and helpful. We got a free delicious appetizer with mango and friend eggs prepared by the chef. The food is really delicious and fresh. Paid Street parking is available in front of the restaurent. Better if you call them and reserve. This place is so busy. The chicken and the beef meals are delicious. Better to pay by cash, it saves you some extra money.

Such an amazing find! I was looking for Thai in the east and of the city and Sala was rated highly. It did not disappoint! I was a lone diner and they were busy for a Sunday night. I was seated right away by a friendly server who gave me great menu recommendations. I had the Tom Yum soup and the Sala Pad Thai. Both were excellent! They give you a nice condiment selection in shot glasses so you can really customize your dish the exact way you like it. I tired each of the condiments, such a cool concept! A very nice touch that I haven’t seen in other Thai places around the city. I tried the dairy free mango ice cream for dessert and it was divine. Absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, service was amazing, the place had a very laid back vibe with a great playlist creating the backdrop for a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this gem!

We started with their Mango Salad, because, obviously. We then went for their eggplant stir-fry, the Pad Ma Khou. It tasted pretty strong on its spices (not a complaint), but they seemed to fill the plate up with a lot of tofu as opposed to eggplant. The tofu however was unlike any other. It actually tasted of the dish throughout while in other places, the taste of tofu is quite obvious. We would surely go here again and experiment with the menu. The staff is friendly and the portions are generous. We also did takeout of their Mango Sticky Rice. The Mango held its own even the next day, which was a great sign.

Amazing Thai Restaurant! I went with a group of friends after a Muay Thai class and had an amazing lunch! Chef Mo expressed to us her passion for Thai culture and how she loves to make traditional, healthy, and delicious Thai food (with NO KETCHUP)! The portions were so much larger than they looked and so delicious, and dessert was to die for! I definitely recommend the classic chicken pad Thai and banana ice cream for dessert. You won’t be disappointed!

We went to Sala Modern Thai for dinner. The food was delicious. We had the khao soi w/ tofu, tom yum pad thai with chicken and the vegetarian spring rolls. The khao soi broth was delicious, with a depth in flavour. The noodles were bouncy and tender. The pad thai however lacked the depth in flavour I have experienced with at other pad thai. My favourite bite was the crispy spring rolls - tightly rolled and jam packed w/ vegetables and noodles. My favourite addition to the meal were their table side home made sauces. The service however was lacking. We were told to move tables after we had sat down and served water and our appetizer. Our plates were removed even before we finished. Furthermore, despite asking for water twice it was not served. In the future, I would most likely do take out as the flavours are definitely worth another visit.

What an amazing Thai staple this is on the Danforth! Staff are 10/10 great people and have an amazing energy to their community that you can feel once you enter! Not only does Sala offer traditional Thai dishes but also high end foods such as rib steak & king crab as well. Which are VERY well done thanks to Chef Mo and team!

Pad See Ew and Tiger Shrimp Phad Thai, the shrimp were HUGE! I thought it was lobster at first haha, generous portions and amazing flavour! We were stuffed, don’t forget to try the Thai Iced Tea so good and tasty.

I LOVE Thai food! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sala Modern Thai Kitchen with a couple of friends and the food was outstanding! I even met the owner, Chef Mo, who is so warm and inviting. She even invited me into the kitchen to shoot a few pics. Spectacular! Our evening started with Golden Baskets and Thai Calamari for appetizers. What a great start! Both were delicious! Our main courses included Chicken Khao Soi, Pad Kee Mao, and Lobster Pad Thai. Each dish was cooked to perfection! The khao soi was beautifully presented, with the chicken and sauce poured over the noodles at our table. The pad kee mao was a more rustic looking dish, while the lobster presentation was a work of art! I was so tempted to defy my shellfish allergy and dig in! The desserts were the perfect finish to this excellent meal. We had Banana Ice Cream, MangCo (Mango Sticky Rice with Mango Ice Cream), and BuddyMe (Roti Pancake with Coconut Ice Cream). The ice creams were all made in-house and were exceptional! What a great meal this was! I highly recommend Sala Modern Thai Kitchen!

A friend recommended this place when I was down at Danforth. I love how cozy the restaurant is. Their food was delicious and there’s many exotic food to try. The customer service was also very friendly. Their washroom was clean, which is important. It’s a place that I’d definitively love to try again.

Amazing restaurant that I visited over 5 years ago and their homemade coconut ice cream was so memorable that I craved it often. They've also got amazing pad Thai and drunken noodles made with FRESH rice noodles! Owner/Chef MO was the first to introduce Tom yum pad Thai in Toronto! Her passion for her food is seen in her food, she uses high quality and fresh ingredients! I went recently and they have fresh live lobster deal, you can add a fresh lobster to any dish for $35 during the weekday and $39 on the weekend until the end of May I believe? It's such a great deal and I love how she has a variety of condiments for your food! You can add any or all of the 5 condiments (homemade chili oil, chili fish sauce, chili vinegar, dried chili, ground chili and sugar), so every dish can appease anyone's taste buds since we all like things a certain way. The sugar is great to help tone down spice, sourness and saltiness while someone else may want something more sour and add the chili vinegar sauce. Their Massaman curry is also the most flavourful one I've tried so far! Do yourself a favour and try this place out! Don't forget their Thai coffee if you're a coffee fein or their Thai Iced tea and you gotta try their homemade ice cream made with coconut milk and real fruit!
