I didn't had the chance to get there on time to be able to visit also the inside of the Fortress. And from what I've seen in the windows, there are a lot of things to visit, and read. But the outside is very nice, it was so relaxing, and it's a pleasure to stay there and think about what it was in the past. I highly recommend it, totally worth it.

Wonderful restoration of the place, there is a lot to do here so if you are interested in exploring everything it might take about five or six hours, I've spent about three only in the museum part. The museum has an excellent collection of Orthodox icons that by themselves are worth the price of admission. You get a lot of info on the citadel history, come prepared to read a lot. There is a good restaurant on the premises though somewhat overpriced and Oradea doesn't lack significantly better options.

A place with multicultural history situated in the center of Oradea. Best time to visit it is during the medieval festival. Although more things can be added in such a vast garden surrounding it. Inside the walls there are restaurants or other shops to relax or get a memory with this place. If you visit Oradea, the fortress is a must see.

We liked it here. We've spent around two hours visiting the fortress and the museum on a Sunday afternoon. The museum is quite big and interesting. The entrance fee is 20 lei, quite worth the visit. There are different expositions, some interactive. I liked the most the interactive part with old games, the memory game was my favourite. I also liked the modern textile expo. We also visited the leather workshop and had a nice chat with the gentleman working there. Everybody was friendly and nice

(Translated by Google) It was the first time I got to this location. Impressive effort of the authorities to restore this goal and its integration into cultural life. It is a reference point in many attractions to visit in Oradea. (Original) A fost prima dată când am ajuns în această locație. Although the place is pretty dull at first sight, the museum inside is worth to pay a visit and 20RON (~4EUR). It shows the evolution of the Romanian culture since the Middle Ages till present day. Also, if still opened, the Da Vinci interactive exhibit is quite amazing and something that you rarely see in Romania.

More than i expected! History, art, archeology, but also a restaurant and vending machines in case you're thirsty or hungry. There are various temporary exhibition, always something fresh.

The old part of the town, which includes ruins of a large fortress. Some of it is still being restored/renovated but there are several places to visit in the area. Restaurants, gallery, park, ruins and a couple of craft shops but the most notable attraction is the large museum. There is something for all ages, including kids. It's easy to spend hours in the area. A bit hard to find with car (thank you, GPS!) but once there, we could easily find free parking.

Good place to visit and find out about history and art. The place is very well organized. You can tell that the stuff has been working hard to put together and maintain such a place. The personnel was very friendly and happy to explain different parts of the museum or different art exhibitions available for visiting. We particularly loved the representation of Romania during the 1st World War. Amazingly creative and detailed decor. Congratulations. Really worth making a stop here if you visit Oradea, otherwise a great city by itself.

Very nicely restored place, the Museum of Oradea which is located inside is currently one of the biggest museums in Oradea. Sometimes there are events and concerts going on so definitely a good place to stop and visit.

  • 4/5 Laurentiu B. 3 years ago on Google
Various areas to be seen, from medieval sector through renaissance world war I and reuniting with Romania. Good place for selfies, it worth the 20 lei, including temporary exhibitions. It took us about two hours visiting the entire fortress. The basement is also nice to visit and it is has interactive stuff.

Great historical place. The fortress was brought back to life and into the 21st century. It I'd all restored and it houses art galleries, pubs and even some classes for young children.plus many others. There is still a lot to discover in the surroundings of the fortress that is still covered by earth, so expect for another page to be turned in the book of Oradea.

  • 4/5 Sorin V. 4 years ago on Google
Nice fortress, the walls are undergoing renovation, a catapult is available on the playground but still not very dynamic atmosphere. For a city fortress is worth walking to it as it is near to the old city center.

A beautiful newly refurbished citadel. I loved the nature and the flowers. You can see lavender, lilies... It is a really nice place to walk and relax, very quiet. There is a small pond with fish and frogs. The place could be a bit more lively. The toilets cannot be used as they are extremely dirty. If they are put there to be used...

I really think there would be more room for art and cultural related or history related events to creat this fort more attractive. The park has not much shade ,unfortunately day time is burning hot no place to hide around. I wish there would be more creative shopping like art gallery's or boutique coffee shops around. Other than this is ok to go there for a quick walk. Btw the latest dinosaur park ,made of melting rubber isn't only silly but quiet dangerous for under age kids climbing up on those metal stairs to seat in a rubber metal whatever and step across between the stairs and the seat a big gap where they could fall in between. They are lucky no accidents has happened ....

  • 5/5 Cristina N. 4 months ago on Google
Authentic & beautiful. A trip into the history that is a must. Friendly smiling people, wearing either genuine traditional costumes or overly modern & funky. Concerts and plenty of cultural displays. Old workshops around the main building. I loved it all , for authenticity most.
