A very modern museum. Did not expect to have so many artifacts. You can see everything from 1.7 billion years old rocks to dinosaur, mammoth and even human skeletons. I recommend to save yourself at least 2 hours for this museum and do not skip it if you come to Oradea. Parking is free on Saturday and Sunday on the street next to the museum. Also to my surprise it s wheelchair accessible and have special gear to help disabled people to visit the exibits.

The museum is very big, most people were nice, except for one lady who was rude to me. I got annoyed and it took me some time to get over it and try to enjoy the museum. She kind of ruined my experience. My mom got tired, and I also got tired, and dizzy from the too many artefacts. The building is impressive, but I wish I had gone to the zoo instead. I didn’t like the aquarium. The poor fish, and other creatures were kept in very small tanks. I felt sorry for them. The entrance for the museum and aquarium was 20 Ron per adult.

Very nice museum. Modern. Has 3D animations and displays. I liked the natural museum part. Also has a real life animals exposition with reptiles and tarantulas. I liked it a lot.

Very nice museum! Scientific and historic exhibitions are full of interesting facts. You can use interactive panels in 3 languages (Romanian, Hungarian and English). The staff is very kind and helpful. Entrance fee for student was 10 lei, which is cheap in my opinion. It is definitely worth visiting!

A huge museum, spawning over 3 floors and an art gallery underground. The museum also has a vivarium, outside, mainly with spiders, fishes and various lizards. It's definitely worth visiting.

One of the most beautiful museums of the country. Spawning 3 floors, an lower ground floor and a vivarium, it is a really informative museum. For a serious and passionate viewer, I personally recommend visiting an exhibit a day, due to the huge volume of pieces and information. Some of the exhibits are art history, history, ethnographic, Oradea art. The vivarium has a huge collection of spiders, reptiles and fish.

One of the best museums I've seen in Romania. Comparable to museums in Bucharest. It hosts, under the same roof, a history exhibition, ethnographies, art, and natural science. Also, Vivarium is a wonderful place where you can see exotic animals.

  • 5/5 Ana L. 10 months ago on Google • 28 reviews
Big, interesting museum. Inside the building you can find captivating exhibits in the natural history museum, the history museum, the art museum and the ethnographic museum. Outside, on the left corner there is a vivarium with live reptiles, fish, insects. In my opinion it is one of Romania's best museums. It is also included in the program "Oradea, with love!", so tourists staying in hotels in Oradea have the opportunity to visit for free, with a QR code received at the reception desk.

Great art from one of Europe's cultural heartlands - well curated and presented. As a plus, a charming exhibition about life in the Bihor region. A real insider's tip for art lovers

It's more like an history museum. The title is not very suggestive. We accidentally found it because there are not many information about. I strongly recommend the museum because it was recently renovated and everything is very modern, a lot of projections and interactive boards.

Very orderly and very clean. Came 2 hours before closure and couldn't see all the expositions so come earlier. The museum has information plaques in Romanian, Hungarian and English. Would recommend if you come to visit Oradea.

Very quiet place, all things in a order. You can buy 3 tickets if you want to visit all places from the museum. They have very nice people employed there, they help you and show you every time you need. Also on each descover of Archimedes have a consistent description and how that thing works.

  • 5/5 Cristi 3 years ago on Google
Luckily, the museum found a new home after the bad story with the roman-Catholic Church who owned previous place. The man that greeted us at the entrance was not very friendly, talking like giving orders instead of being polite and hospitable. The building is still being restored and repaired, but it is central and large, proper for accommodation of such an institution. During our visit the art, a temporary exhibition and the vivarium were available. The Archimedes exhibition was great, with interactive exhibits and a movie to better understand the concepts. The art part had local artists and Picasso illustrations. The vivarium was a total surprise, very modern, species not seen in Romania in other places and very well taken care of. The ticket is cheap go for it!

One of the most underrated places in Oradea. Very enjoyable experience.

  • 3/5 ioanaantal 10 months ago on Google
The museum itself is beautiful, but there are flaws that must be corrected: the staff should be knowledgeable, you shouldn't hire supervisors at every corner but historians, who can answer questions. And let parents go in with a stroller, I don't understand this nonsense with not being allowed. How do you expect parents to enjoy visiting the museum when you have to walk around holding the baby at all times, floor after floor?

  • 2/5 Alexandra V. 1 year ago on Google
I'm a local. The museum and the information it offers are great. My biggest issues with it is it's schedule. It is not local friendly as it is open only 9-17 when people are at work. The only times you get to go is either weekend or public holidays. I rarely encounter museums that have this schedule. It's mostly 10-18 or 10-19 to accommodate during weekdays. It would be great if it was open longer during weekdays as it gives you the chance to visit it during the week as well.

(Translated by Google) I came to the museum with some reservations about expectations, given the delicate situation in which I know the building that houses this museum. Although the restoration is not yet complete, what I found at MȚC exceeded all my expectations. The modern technologies, the 1 to 1 replicas with the original, the pleasant museum staff and the vivarium have made visiting this museum an experience that must be tried by those who visit Oradea Mare. Congratulations and success!

Nice location, with a large yard. It's not entirely finished yet so there are some temporary expositions. Nice, warm people.

Large building, with plenty of room for exhibitions, but only a few rooms where you can actually see something. The rooms are large and well illuminated, offering a very nice setting for exhibitions. Unfortunately, at least for the moment, most probably because the museum only recently moved to this building, there isn't very much to see. A few art collections and a relatively small vivarium, plus a temporary exhibition on toys. Many grammar errors (both in Romanian and English) on the labels or explanation panels, which makes everything look like it was done in a haste, rather superficially. I hope in time more rooms will be opened, because the city needs a large museum with diverse exhibitions. A bit more care for the text on the labels will also make things a bit better.

A really beautiful building with a lot of history behind. Also the museum deserves such a building as is one of the biggest in Romania in terms of artifacts. The museum is not yet 100% operational. They are still moving the expositions from the old location. The temporary ones are interesting and we just hope to have it soon fully opened. At the end will be one new modern museum.
