It's been about 10 years since the last time I have visited an Islands Restaurant and like the last it was very enjoyable. Islands is one of those special restaurants that transport you someone far away. You walk in the Hawaiian themes surrounds you giving you a feel of a relaxing get away, away from home. From the decor on the walls to the bamboo decorations to the parrots hanging from the ceiling. It truly is a very tropical and puts your mind at ease. Our waitress, Melissa was so awesome! Bubbly, spunky and very attentive. Just what you want in a waitress. All smiles, the whole time we were there. Making you truly feel like your special. Great job, keep up the awesome service. If only one day more people would be just like you. Now on to the reason you truly read the review for-The Food. Fabulous, in short. I had the crispy fried chicken sandwich with bacon and I even added the fried red onions (spectacular, who doesn't like a little extra crunch). I also asked for the truffle fries instead of regular. The chicken was crispy, perfectly cooked. The bun was excellent with just enough golden tones to it. The truffle fries were covered in truffle oil and parsley parmesan flakes with a truffle aioli duping sauce. I do have to say it was quick favorable and rich, but I was only able to eat a few because it was so rich. My sons had the pineapple crispy chicken and my husband had the fish tacos. Both sons loved it and my husband said it was quite good, but he wished it would have had a salsa to go with it it would have been perfect. Normally, I don't go for desert, but my kids talked my husband into getting the Oreo milkshakes and then I saw the lava cake. I had to try. The lava cake was basically just a chocolate brownie with fudge and vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and cherries. My husband and I both split it and it was very good. At the end of the meal, our waitress cleared our plates and made sure we had everything we wanted, including boxes. In all, it was a great time with great people and great food. First and foremost our server was great. The young lady was named Chayla and she did an excellent job of taking care of us. She was kind, courteous, and very attentive. Hope her manager sees this and recognizes that they have awesome employee, and by recognizes I mean give her a bonus or raise, not just verbal praise. +Food was tasty and filling. +Service was excellent, bar far some of the best I have seen of recent memory. +Pricing was reasonable. +Location was clean. +Ample parking. - Nothing to gripe about, enjoyed my meal here and would be happy to eat here again.

We'll usually it's pretty good but I took my grandmother and wifey to eat dinner. Grandma ordered cup of hot tea and it came with lip stick on it as if it was moved from one table to another. We we're cool about it with the server and she corrected it and apologized as we'll. Guess what bugs me is that it was still on the bill when we paid . But even after that the service really lacked any attentiveness.

Do not order pickup from this location. They are incapable of getting the order right, especially if there is any customization. On multiple occasions I have gotten home to find that the order is incorrect. Most recently I ordered sliders with no customization whatsoever, hoping that might alleviate the issue. What I got was small dried out patties on buns far too large for them and NOTHING ELSE. That was the last straw for me which is too bad because in restaurant experiences have been fine.

Called in a pick up order. Ordered 2 burgers and an order of cheese fries. Ordered a bleunami well done on white. Got a rare burger with the top bun wheat and the bottom bun white. Burger was so undercooked it was cold. It seems the staff doesn't care about their work. Horrible. WASTE OF MONEY.

The burgers were ok but my onion rings arrived cold. They did redo them and they were just ok. My kids both had burgers too, and they barely touched theirs. I made the mistake of ordering a whole wheat bun after the waitress ensured they were fresh, and they were just as bad as you remembered them. My son loved his chocolate milk and the coloring pages were nice. We saw two other sports' families with little kids from our team, so it was a fun touch. It made me realize how spoiled our kids are as this just doesn't happen anywhere we take them! The bathrooms weren't very clean, but I suppose this was to be expected for a Friday. I wanted to give this place a 3 for the sake of the kids, but I can't see ever wanting to return here. In N out is so much better and cheaper! I don't remember when I last dined at Islands, but I don't remember it ever being this mediocre and I hope that I don't have to return any time soon with so many better burger places to try in OC.

First time back to Islands after more than 20 years and it was such a great time. The wait wasn't bad for a Friday night, 10 minutes or so. Chayla was our server and she was FANTASTIC!! Her food suggestions were great and her service was second to none!! Everybody that approached our table was very pleasant and willing to assist. The booth we sat in was comfortable and spacious. They have TVs so we watched some basketball with dinner. For dinner, I had the Carnitas Tacos and they were pretty good, lacking meat for my liking. The chicken burger was covered in a very well-seasoned breading. The fries were phenomenal. My kiddos had a quesadilla with fresh pineapple and believe me, it was FRESH! And a Hawaiian burger which looked very good as well. My beer was ice cold and tasty, my wife ordered a margarita which was poured perfectly! I'm glad that we came to try Islands again. I used to eat here all the time when I lived in CA. I moved to AZ four years ago and missed Islands so much! I came out for a wedding yesterday and went for dinner there. The Northshore Tacos are my fav! They were still delicious!

Pretty solid Islands - seemed to be pretty busy for a Wednesday at 12:45, but we were seated right away. Drinks came and then our wrap and burger. The hit were the fries! Best fries I've had in a while! It is expensive, but what isn't these days. Server was great and attentive.

We came in as a party of 8 and half of us had burned food but we were hungry so tried to eat it. Some of the chicken pieces on the salad were so crispy, bread from burger and grilled cheese was black. We told our waitress when she asked us how everything was but she didn’t seem to care. One of our appetizers did not come out until after we all got our meals. We told the waitress to forget about it but she brought it out anyways and of course got charged for it. The fries were also hard and gross. Not coming back here again

Came here to Island’s tonight. The wait to be seated was a reasonable 10 minutes or so. However, once seated, no server came to the table, though many walked by (including a manager). I left after 15 minutes. They gotta get it together.

Chicken tortilla soup is fantastic with fresh avocado. Cant beat the endless bowls of soup. Wife's favorite burger now is the French onion chip burger, she is addicted to that now 😊. My girls get the endless soup and one of them loves their kids cheese quesadilla. Enjoy!

Very disappointed, frys were so hard felt like crackers, beyond greasy patty and the smell was like old frying oil. I don't like to put out bad reviews but is clearly they're doing something wrong .

What a great place to get a burger!!! For my first time being here this place really made me feel like I was at home and the customer service was excellent here!!! The desert was even more filling and took me over the edge lol (I was gone after that) Definitely a must go if you're looking for a great tasty burger!!! Way to go Island's YOU ROCK!!!!

A great experience at Islands after over 2 years. Wait time was short, our server Chayla was fantastic and made great food suggestions. Comfortable and spacious booth with TVs to watch basketball. Carnitas Tacos were good but lacked meat, chicken burger had a well-seasoned breading and the fries were phenomenal. Kids enjoyed fresh pineapple quesadilla and Hawaiian burger. Ice-cold beer and perfectly poured margarita. Glad to return and thankful to Chayla for her excellent service.

Food was good however for 5 adults and 2 babies our bill was almost 170.00 for hamburger meals. A bit pricey......... Not to mention my daughter and I shared sliders and cheese fries and it was still 170 so in actuality it was 4 adults and 2 babies

Quirky Hawaiian style restaurant in Orange County. The food exceeded expectations and was reasonably priced! I had the Huli Huli Chicken Sandwich which was sweet but had enough savory to balance the flavors. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for good food but not overly expensive.

Amazing food! Where so many chain restaurants have reduced quality to make more profit this location still tastes as good as I remember when I was a child. Best fries and burger around!

We've been too two of their restaurants and head never been too one. Friends took us there. We enjoyed the food and the service in both occasions.

An excellent restaurant I have been going to since I was a kid here in Orange. The service and food have always been great, but the prices are a tad higher than I remember. Sign of the times I guess... There are many options, don't forget to save room for dessert.

Burger: the basic big wave, hold the pickles, talk about juicy and delicious. Fries need to be bigger, felt like there were just half pieces in there. Great flavor though. The waiters and staff were over the top here. Helpful and never had to ask for anything, they were on top of everything for us. Clean, clean....clean here. Well done. Music was also at the right volume, thank you for that, never had to compete with it while ordering. I wish we would have taken photos.

I was extremely disappointed with the food. It used to be amazing now the food is horrible. Not sure if it was the cooks but all the food was really gross. We went for father's day and left there hungry because none of us ate any of the food we ordered. We didn't complain because we just accepted that it wasn't going to be better.

It's been years since I've been here. We were looking for a fun place for coffee and a dessert. I'm glad we came, and will be back for a yummy burger..

The food quality and taste is consistent. Their promotional entrees and drinks never disappoint. Their hosts, servers, etc have the friendly gene. It's always pleasant.

I enjoy coming here after work for a burger and few beers. The bar tending chicks that work here are cute. So it’s a good reason to stop by. They are cute. They serve cold beer. Delicious burgers. And delicious fries.
