McKellar Park

Park

👍👍 Great park, usually lots of kids there. Two play structures, swings, large field, baseball diamond, tennis courts, wading pool in summer, hockey rink and other ice surface in winter. There is a small parking lot but is unpaved and rough; I prefer to park on the road. Between two quiet roads. There... People often mention park,

There is a field house with bathrooms though it is only open when something is going on in there.

Quaint and quiet. Tennis courts are a bonus. Good place to kick or toss a ball around. Nice little green space in the middle of a quiet corner of the mid-west of Ottawa.

McKellar Park is gorgeous. A nice playground with seperate structures for littles and bigs. A fieldhouse that, at least pre-covid, used to be open with washrooms. Dovercourt does some programming here. There are tennis courts, basketball nets, a baseball diamond and a wading pool. A large field and the biggest neighbourhood rink I've ever seen in the winter. It's tucked away enough that it gets well used by folks in the neighbourhood, but never gets too busy.

Had a company barbeque held here. Fields were cut, kids play structures were fun and had options between a few and it had sand! I love the sand compared to new parks with wood chips.

Saturday farmers market, lots of vendors, fair amount of shade to sit and eat. No bathrooms open.

👍👍 Best off-leash dog park in the area. Massive open space with some seating plus a huge amount of trails to explore. There is even a rainbow bridge to post your lost pup's tag which always brings tears to our eyes.
