Was looking for a gym to train in during an upcoming visit to Ottawa, but apparently I may be danger to the immunocompromised and not welcomed at Iron North Studio unless vaccinated. The ignorance and arrogance of the owner is appalling! Without merit taking upon themselves to enforce vaccination status apartheid segregation in order to “virtue” signal their “safety concern”. It is widely known that vaccination does not prevent spread of viruses! I will avoid this establishment. And I am fully vaccinated. You need to check your logic behind your decision and respect peoples choices, not act as the moral police for entirely spurious reasons.

I went here a bit over a year ago before covid. Now, they discriminate and only allow certain individuals into their facilities...segregation used to be morally wrong...Shame on this establishment. It's ironic when they say say they have an "inclusion policy" yet discriminate based on no scientific evidence to back it up. I believe a private business should do what they wish - doesnt mean we should support a business on the wrong side of history. I'm 2x vaccinated and understand that I can still spread covid. I think if we all look back historically, we can all guess who would stand for inclusion and who would stand for segregation whether racial or medical or what have you. Hopefully when this all settles, businesses that participated will look back and reflect on their actions.

An amazing gym and community in Centretown. They're finishing up their renovations which will make an amazing fitness space when finished. What struck me the most when I visited was the amazing sense of community and attentiveness of the staff. This is a truly wonderful and personal gym and fitness environment. Oh, by the way, amazing price point!

Wow! What an amazing gym! While on vacation I decided to get a workout in at Iron North. Despite regularly working out 4-5/wk their Sat morning class kicked my butt, it was so much fun. The instructor was fantastic, she gave superb instructions, played the best music, and was so motivating. Throughout the class she floated around offering encouragement or corrections to ensure everyone was safe. The class was a mix of fitness levels, everyone had such positive attitudes and were so inviting. After class I met some other staff members and they were so welcoming. This gym had such a great atmosphere, wish this gym was back home.

I have joined Iron North Studio in July 2022. I am amazed of how stronger I got over the past 7 months. Most of the time, I join the 7 am class with Mandie ( the instructor) and she is great. She is always positive, provides a great workout and the feedback is super positive! I highly recommend this gym where you feel welcome 100% of the time.

After a couple years away from the gym, I did a series of introduction to personal training sessions with Mandie and am now going to classes. Iron North was just what I needed to get back to the gym- welcoming, open to all skill levels, not intimidating, and great classes.

I've been a member of Iron North for over a month now and I'm pleased to call it my new gym. I was looking for a place to train after Sparks St Fitness (SSF) closed. Fortunately, Iron North was nearby and has similar HIIT type classes. The staff is also amazingly kind and membership policies are more accommodating than what you find with typical gym memberships. If you are from SSF and are still looking for a new gym, I highly recommend giving Iron North a try!

I recently had the pleasure of becoming a member at Iron North in Ottawa, and I can honestly say that it has redefined my expectations for what a gym can offer. From my first visit, it was clear tha they prioritize creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of their fitness level or experience. The gym is well-maintained, clean, and organized, making it a pleasure to work out in. The staff at Iron North are exemplary – knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure members have a great experience. They are proactive in offering advice, support, and motivation, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere within the gym. I was impressed by the variety and quality of the classes offered. Whether you are into high-intensity workouts, prefer a more relaxed yoga session, or want to try something new like spinning, they have something for everyone. The instructors are passionate and skilled, adapting classes to accommodate all fitness levels and ensuring everyone leaves feeling accomplished. Iron North Gym is more than just a place to work out; it's a community. I would highly recommend Iron North to anyone looking for a gym in Ottawa.

This is not just a gym, it’s a community that welcomes you with open arms! A year into lockdown and even though I’ve only seen people through zoom I still feel a part of the family. Pre-Covid I practically lived here during the week. There wasn’t a class I didn’t love, I even started enjoying spin classes, something I never enjoyed at other gyms! Every instructor is highly trained and knowledgeable and makes sure you’re doing the exercises correctly, form and quality over quantity. Since the classes are small, you really feel seen (even on zoom!), and if you have an injury, they will work with you on proper substitutions. The great thing to is that you never get bored of the classes, because they are never the same. Even a structured circuit class will have different cardio options every week. If you’re sick of box gyms or feel like you haven’t found the right place yet, look no further! This truly is a zero judgement, small community filled with support, love, friendship, and the occasional donut!

I've really loved my experience at INS. I first did an intro session at the gym back in 2017 and loved it (especially the spin classes), and returned in 2020 when I moved back to the neighbourhood. I was only able to take one spin class in-studio with INS before lock down happened (it was with Al, who was absolutely wonderful - I was sad to hear of his passing), and have really enjoyed the instagram and zoom classes I've attended since. At first I was nervous zoom classes would be weird, but I've really enjoyed them. The instructors are great and funny, provide awesome workouts, and helpful tips to improve your form/make modifications if needed. The customer service is also really great. I have recommended them to tons of friends, and strongly suggest that anyone struggling with routine or worrying about the upcoming combo of winter and social distancing to give their virtual classes a try - they've made this whole situation bearable and I look forward to their classes every week!

If you wanna get your sweat on and get your strength up this is your spot. Iron North is an amazing gym - the first gym I’ve been to in a long time where I felt safe lifting and technique based movement is the priority. I’m vibing on it’s inclusive environment as well. Great coaches, dope spot and dialled into the community.

My experience at Iron North Studio has been nothing short of fantastic! I have yet to take the time to write a review (because you know, life), but since we're in the middle of a global pandemic and gyms have been deeply impacted, I felt it was time to show some love for the team that's kept me from downing during the pandemic. Through INS, I've participated in private run training, multiple boot camps while pregnant, had massages, and am now a a full-time member during the pandemic. I love the team for several reasons: 1.) Their knowledge. This team, including the owner, is packed with functional knowledge, certifications, special training, and I feel completely supportive in everything I do. After being a member of many different gyms, this knowledge and skill is what I perceive sets them apart. 2.) The love for their community. It's very clear that their community and members are deeply important to them and they drive every decision they make. For example, when the owner was debating a move from Hintonburg to another location, she set up a Zoom meeting with all full-time members to solicit their feedback and give them advance notice. This is just one small example, but it ripples throughout every decision they make. For example, while being locked down, they lend out their equipment free of charge to members to support them. 3.) Their morals. This business is something I'm proud to be associated with. Their core values, drive to help the community, love for their members, and the continuous improvements on social issues is incredible. I 100% trust the team and always feel included. They're truly one of the good guys. 4.) Their workouts of f*cking hard in the best possible way! And even though I often choose the scaled back option, I come out of the workouts feeling excited, happy, and powerful. If you haven't been able to tell yet, love this team and I'm so grateful for them. It's an amazing community, supported by wonderful leaders, and I would scream their name off the rooftop anytime!!

Love the supportive attitude and fantastic community spirit at Iron North. Have been a member for years and intend to continue. It is a vital part of my wellness, far beyond the great fitness training delivered.

I REALLY like this gym because of its proximity (it's close to my place); the people (staff and members) are really nice; and most importantly, the price is affordable. Not everyone can afford to pay $189 or $199/month plus tax as priced by other gyms. The trainers/coaches are super supportive, they don't push you beyond your abilities - no stress! You do the best that you can, no one is judging you. You'll get better at it, just takes practice. And when you're new, this is comforting. The instructions are clear and the trainers go around to assist members as needed. Don't be shy, ask questions if you don't understand how to perform a movement. As they say, there are no dumb questions (except the ones that weren't asked). And if you come often enough (like twice a week) the staff greets you by name! Makes you feel kinda special;-) On another note, I've read a couple of negative reviews related to their vaccination policy and something about protesters. Those reviews DO NOT accurately reflect what this gym is about; so, if you're interested in working out in a positive and welcoming environment, this is the place for you.

Iron North Studio is a gym like no other I have joined. The team is focused on creating community and supporting its members physical and emotional well being. The classes are geared for all levels and the open gym times allow for individual training in a clean and well equipped environment. You're always greeted by name, with a smile and a genuine interest in how you're feeling that day. Joining Iron North Studio was the best decision I have made in my health and wellness journey.

My husband and I recently did metabolic and VO2 max testing with Ben. The testing process was so well organized. The time Ben spent with us after the tests, reviewing the results and providing us recommendations for our diet and excercise routines was amazing! Having this personalized information has been incredibly helpful to keep us on track to stay healthy. I highly recommend this testing to those with the same goals. Thank you Ben and Iron North Studios!

I did a VO2Max test with Ben Leber. Expected just to do the test but got way more bang for my buck. Ben is extremely knowledgeable. Explained the test and its implications very clearly. Performed the test in a very comfortable atmosphere. Ben even drew up a training program based on the results. I would highly recommend this (and Ben) for anyone at any level seeking to improve their fitness. Five stars!

A couple of weeks ago, I completed the RMR and VO2 Max testing with Ben Leber at Iron North. Highly recommend! It was a really positive experience. Ben was kind, knowledgeable, and able to provide me with a lot of valuable information to help me on my health and fitness journey.

I was someone with chronic pain, who struggled with consistency in my fitness journey, and who had recently moved to Ottawa and was seeking community. Iron North helped me resolve all of these and more. I cannot recommend this gym enough. The owner Jenna leads with authenticity and the whole team centers their practice around inclusivity. The workouts are modifiable to your fitness level and genuinely fun. Even though challenging, the variety in classes gives an excellent range of basics to more advanced dynamic movements — so every workout has moments where you get to be surprised and rewarded with what you’re capable of. That was key as a person looking for any positive reinforcement to keep showing up. Long story short, iron North removed the barriers I was experiencing in following through on my goals. I’ll keep recommending this place every chance I get!!
