    Employee not respecting health directives of the province. No mask. Love the store otherwise, but it's hard to promote a business that doesn't follow health directives during a pandemic. If they don't care about each other, do they care about your pets? Edit: the business has responded that the employee has a medical exemption. As highly unlikely as this is to believe given the employee's speed walking in the store (no apparent breathing issues) and cohesiveness (no apparent mental deficiencies) - it doesn't actually matter if there's an exemption or not. This store is not doing what they need to do to keep their employees and customers safe. The virus doesn't care about a medical note. The virus will spread and this employee has a high percentage of infecting customers AND staff here. The employee can at the bare minimum wear a face shield and/or remain behind plexiglass and/or be reassigned to office/admin work away from the public. This business has not done their due diligence nor have they tried anything further to mitigate the risk. Do better.

    The staff here are amazing and always willing to help. There's lots of parking, so should be easy for anyone to come. The store isn't too busy which is pleasant.

    Update: Laura D. the store manager is awesome. She always has our 12 cases of Iron Will Raw waiting for us when we arrive. Thank you, Laura! Update: I am now dealing with Patricia O., Barrhaven Team Leader. This woman is beyond amazing! She is professional, friendly and really knows how to communicate with the customers. She ensures that our big order is ready when we arrive. Patricia’s skills and demeanour would make her an ideal candidate for a Managerial position or in communications, she is that good — I am surprised she is not the manager of this store. Many thanks for your help, Patricia! My husband and I are very impressed with your service. Love this store! The staff are happy, friendly and helpful, especially the manager Logan. Logan ensures that our eight boxes of Iron Will Raw Complete cat food are ordered every two weeks and in stock when we come to pick it up - she is amazing! Highly recommend this store for its selection and professionalism.

    Individual visits can be a toss up. Some times over the last 4 years I've been visiting, shelves can be bare and flyer sales are not indicated properly leaving me to guess what is or isn't included. Lately though I haven't been impressed with the changing prices and although things are understandably going up, I find the last few things I've bought have not been marked with new tags saying prices have gone up. I brought this to the attention of the associate at the cash and she didn't acknowledge the Ontario scanning code of practice or the fact that all the collars of this style were marked the same way. I even had to remind the associate to input the 50% discount on the small food bag after she tried to reason that it wasn't on discount even though the sticker was right in front of her face. It was really baffling. It really should be a priority to make sure prices, at the very least, are accurate and what the standards are as to when they are discovered not to be accurate, which is more often these days. Not sure this will be my "go to" place going forward.

    We just left this store, we had the most incredibly rude customer service I have seen in decades. And we could go we bought a dog bed, it got dirty, so we washed it and dried it as per instructions. The anti slip bottom melted. The lady at the cash refused it because she believed it was filthy and full of hair. The irony is that she ignored the melted hole at the bottom of the bed, which was the direct result of washing the bed ( as per instructions on the label), so it could not have been filthy. she instructed us to email head office to receive permission to return the item. When she was out of excuses, she yelled at us to “have a good day” and to leave the store. We called another location and they immediately agreed to exchange the bed I believe then (after dealing with Ren’s for years) that the problem was at this particular location with this particular woman. I received the reply below, provided the information requested and received no reply.

    Shelves were pretty empty to be honest. Their sales weren't all that great considering it was boxing day. Not a wide selection of heavy chewer toys which is why we went in the first place. Staff was nice enough although did not tell us we would get a $10 coupon if we signed up to their email list.

    Possibly my favourite pet store to visit. I have a medium/large short haired dog who needs a good long walk every morning. It's very difficult to find boots and coats that will actually fit him in most pet stores. At Ren's, I spent half an hour trying to choose from the numerous options! On top of that, the employees are very friendly and helpful. I went in to check for dried chicken feet and ended up buying well over $100 in clothing and accessories!

    Very nice pet store, heaps of choices available. Santa was in the store to take pictures. He was very enthusiastic and entertaining. The aisles are large enough for carts and big pets. But, I don't remember if someone greeted me when I came into the store. I didn't go with my dog, and I feel like it made me invisible. Because no one offered their help. The other customers were nice and helpful. I was making a list of items I needed for my soon to be puppy. They had a nice variety of toys, treats, and care items for puppies.

    One of my go to pet stores. They regularly have deals for my two cats and have tons of promos. Great place to pick up something or just to browse!

    Me and my girlfriend had called about a cat for adoption and we were told by an employee they would put the cat on hold for us because it was late and they cannot do adoptions an hour before closing time. We were very excited because we were promised that we would be able to take the cat home the next day. We then call the next day and they told us they gave away the cat because they don’t hold cats. Then we told them that the employee who closed for them the night before had put up a sign to have the cat held for us, they replied “sorry no one worked that shift last night”. They seriously told us that no one had closed the night before and essentially we’re just lying? Terrible experience as we were both so excited to meet our new pet and we had that taken away from us.

    Terrible customer service. I saw a Big Country Raw Grab n Go Mini Pure 12 lbs for $46.99. I was debating getting it versus the 18 lbs for $88.99. An employee said it’s mislabelled and that she can guarantee that I’ll get it for $46.99 if I went through with it. I got it. I realized upon checking my receipt at the car that it cost me $62.99. I went in store to ask for a refund, sure there had been a mistake. They offered me a $3 refund instead of a $16 refund. I asked Hunter to check the price. He saw that it was mislabelled and took out the label in front of my eyes. He and another employee were confused about the price, so they went to get another employee to tell me that they couldn’t refund me any money. She spoke to me in an impolite tone, as if I were of low intelligence and read the price wrong. She said they didn’t mislabel, they can’t refund me anything, and when I asked to return the whole box, she said there was a note on my file attached to my phone number that I’m not allowed to return any Big Country Raw or toys. This was likely from an incident back when I was 19 years old, from when I bought too much dog food on Black Friday, was working minimum wage, and had to return some dog food to buy human food. In the end, they allowed me to buy the 18 lbs for a lower $/lbs, a trade and not a return. I spent $42 more than I intended to, and not by my choice. I’m hugely disappointed with this store as I’ve been shopping here for 6 years, giving them >$220 a month for a total of $15 840 before taxes, and they refuse to honour a mislabel for even $18. Short-sighted way of doing business. I will not be returning, and will order directly from Big Country Raw’s website in future.

    I had the absolute worst experience with this pet store today. I called yesterday regarding a kitten up for sale and the women who answered the phone assured me she would put it on hold for me so I could pick it up the next day. She even went over everything I had to bring with me for the adoption. Today I find out they gave my cat away and that all adoptions are on a first come first serve basis. I spend hundreds oh dollars getting all my cat supplies in a short period of time just to be told they already gave the cat away. The person on the phone was not remorseful at all and just claimed he didn’t know the staff I was referring to. Their option for me was to call customer service on a different number. Super disappointed and will never shop here.

    I much prefer Ren's over Pet Smart. They have different products and in my opinion, better quality. Most of the staff are quite knowledgeable and helpful.

    I want to say I come to this location often. I usually have a very pleasant experience with the staff and find them very helpful. In saying that Saturday I was being served by a young girl that I have not seen before. She was very rude and even claimed I was giving her attitude. I did not feel that I was. I would like to praise her superior. She overhead the conversation and apologized to the customer she was serving to come help me. She was very understanding on why I was upset and asked her co worker to go take a breather. I was really appreciative of her kind words. I felt I was in the wrong but she made me feel that it’s never ok to be treated that way and even apologized. She didn’t owe me an apology. She was patient and understanding and I wish there were more out there like her. I will continue to shop at this location because I am not going to let one person spoil all my good experiences.

    I wish to express my most sincere gratitude and appreciation to Patricia O. for her professional service. Her patience and enthusiasm greatly impressed me and my friend. While we were checking out, she introduced some of the promotions to us, which was also helpful. I do not live around but I would like to visit this store regularly just because of her.
