This has been my experience at old school. Authentic Middle Eastern cuisine And a non-cookie-cutter approach to food. Some of the things that stand out to me about this food establishment are They stand by their product meaning if for any reason you don’t enjoy the meal they will replace it or refund you. Also another thing that I appreciate about this place is how constructive criticism is actually welcomed instead of taking offense they welcome you to critique their product so they can improve. Not many places have this attitude towards their product or customers. If you are interested in trying fresh Middle Eastern authentic cuisine definitely give this place a try.

Amazing food high-quality BBQ! Excellent service

When you walk in there’s no menu and it looks more like a catering place or deli that has only 5 mins to close, but these first looks are extremely deceiving when it come to Old School. The guy behind the counter tells you the options for the day. Just order whatever he recommends. It may just be the best meal you have ever had. We got the lamb neck. When I say it was delicious that doesn’t even describe how good it was.

This place is a hidden gem. The exterior is unassuming and the dining area is tight, but don't let that deter you; the food is FANTASTIC. High quality halal meats bursting with flavor, at very reasonable prices. Do not miss this place! I strongly recommend the chef special barbecue skewers or the lamb neck.

The food was impeccable, always has been and I have never been disappointed! The owner/chef takes pride in the prostration of the food. He incorporates history,geography, flavors and authenticity in all the dishes. Love this place for daily meals and catering!

The food at that place is absolutely incredible. I've tasted their meat shwarma, BBQ mix, and various Arabian dishes, and they all surpassed my expectations. Highly recommended!

Hands down, the best Arab foods restaurant I've had the pleasure of trying in Chicagoland. Large portions of various traditional Arab dishes cooked each simply great tasting and all at reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is clean and well kept but very small for seating.

My experience at Old School was a great one. I come from a Polish/American background and I'm familiar with different meats so diving into eating lamb was nothing new for me. I ordered the lamb neck which was so moist and delicious. If you've never tried it I would recommend giving it a chance, they really do prepare it well. The rest of the meal was an experience for me. I have never had rice the way it was prepared here and i loved it. The hummus, salad and yogurt were so fresh and tasty. The amount of food you get for a meal is unbelievable 😁 expect left overs. Overall I enjoy trying new foods. Shows the amount of diversity between cultures and I couldn't be happier to have tried the food at Old School. We will be back to try more!

Stopped by earlier this afternoon because me and my family had been craving some Middle Eastern style lamb and we were able to get some really great options here. This restaurant has a rotating selection and therefore doesn't have an established menu yet but the young woman at the register was really helpful and was happy to go through everything they offered and answer any questions we had. We ended up getting an order of Lamb Ouzi served on a bed of rice (left) & Lamb Neck that's stuffed with rice (right) Both were really tender and delicious! The servings were generous. They were also really kind & gave us a complimentary shawarma wrap for us to try which was really good! Especially with the white sauce they had which I believe was tzatziki sauce and another red chunky sauce that had tomatoes in it. Definitely planning on going back.

We called ahead to check what they have on the menu for the day, and ordered take out. When we got there, the folks were welcoming and provided great customer service. The lamb mansaf was amazingly delicious! The lamb was the best lamb I’ve had in Chicagoland. Words do not do it justice, you have to try it yourself. We will definitely go back to try other dishes too!

Very high quality food and high quality customer service. I believe their rice is the absolute best that I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. This place is also highly unique as I believe their main business is catering and therefore they only offer a certain amount of menu options that changes every day. I’ve enjoyed their whole fish as well as kebabs, but plan to try some of their more interesting menu options like lamb neck with rice.

This is the best place to eat real home cooked food like the one we make in our homes. Everything I ever ordered from old school has always been better than expected and always hits the spot. Order anything on the menu and you won’t be disappointed. The owners are very generous with their portions. Very friendly faces greet u when u enter.

Absolutely the most delicious lamb necks . I love the food here 💯. They make the freshest food …. the rice is so unique, especially the one that has raisins in it. My son always brings food from this restaurant, and it is always fresh and the meat is always tender and hot so very delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable and the restaurant is very welcoming and clean. I recommend extremely to all who are looking for a nice delicious fresh affordable meal .

Lamb Neck was so tender it fell off the bone, the fat was so rich. Not to mention the yogurt and sour sauce brought the best flavors out of the dish. A heartwarming and hearty meal, one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten.

Great food, great prices, and most importantly, GREAT hospitality. They treated us as if we were dining in their home. The lamb and chicken was very tender. The salad was refreshing. They do mostly catering, but they accommodated us for dine in. Thank you very much!

Honestly this place deserve more than five star it’s the best experience I ever had with any restaurant before . The food is number one and truly a memorable experience and professional service and the most important they are generous. The texture and the flavor of the food was incredible. It was luxury dinner and the sides was huge and soo delicious ,I am always love to try a lot of restaurants but this old school is unique I am highly recommended this restaurant,the restaurant is more than food it’s a great experience. This was my families and I first visit and just WOW! They had excellent food, & great respect. We also had the opportunity of meeting the owner and he was just amazing and respectful and very professional. He made sure our food was a 10/10. The atmosphere of the place was very welcoming as well. I definitely recommend this place to all.
