Definitely worth a visit after spending time at the pools below! Some of the features are beautifully restored! Good facilities for tourists as well with bathrooms and restaurants! Could easily spend a couple of hours walking around here.

Hierapolis is magnificent, the areas which have been restored such as The Ancient Pool where Cleopatra and Anthony Swam and the Theater complex are fantastic. There are electric carts for rent at the entrances and if you are short on time this is a good option to see everything in the site.

To visit this ancient city, it is in the price of the ticket to visit the travertine terraces of Pamukkale and is in the same park. I parked in the upper car park and its only a 20 min walk to the amphitheatre. The amphitheatre is amazing; it's been very well restored and preserved and there is a fantastic view of the mountains in the distance. It a pity but not all the amphitheatre is accessible. Highly recommend.

We visited on a group tour and had two and a half hours only, but I would recommend at least half a day if you have time! The ruins are in a very big area, including the martyrdom place of St. Philip. The thermal pools are also fun to wade through, and don't forget to rub on some of the mud sediment and then wash it off!

This theater was beautiful. It is still very intact and gives a stunning view of the area. When sitting on the seat, make some clapping noise. The acoustics are amazing! You can now see why they would be able to give a spectacular show or dramatic play, with everyone in the theater being able to hear it properly!

Beautiful amphitheatre..its a beautiful walk up from the pools (the pools are included in the same ticket).. there is also a nice food court at the base of it which is a nice break between seeing the travertines and exploring all the historical sites.. wonderfully restored.. awestruck by how far back these date

Hierapolis beautiful archaeological site with ruins, amphitheater and etc. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site. Entrance is free if you have a museum card. If not then ticket costs 200TL.

I couldn't help but admire their architectural prowess at that time. The buildings were bigger and more magnificent than I had imagined. After visiting Pamukkale, remember to take the time to explore this place thoroughly. It will be a completely different experience.

beautiful place. when you plan to stay in Turkey, you must visit them. The journey is quite long, as by bus with an organized tour the journey takes approx. 5 hours, but this place is amazing.

And absolute must to visit while in Pamakkale, so many incredible Ruins to see. Was so hot , we wish it wasn't so hot and we could have enjoyed more hours here. Make it a point to visit.

The only redeeming feature of the high entry price for pammukale terraces is access provided to the Hierapolis ruins. The amphitheatre and northern necropolis are both must sees. As most tourists are just there for the terraces you can often find yourself wandering alone in fields of ruins. Make sure to bring water as the area is large, hot and provides little shade. Cleopatra pool is beautiful, but too crowded and overpriced considering you can only have one swim for each 7 euro payment.

great place to visit, a must if you're visiting turkey. It's better to go early, at 6:30 use the east entrance and go directly to pools. If you want to watch the sunset, check the time and synchronize...visit the whole area takes 4 hours

An open air archaeological site well-trekked by tourists given its stone’s throw away from Pamukkale travertines. An amazing theatre, the highlight. A small museum displaying excavated stone carvings, an antique pool for swimming.

A fabulous archaeological site. If you come here to see the thermal area you should really walk around the site. It has some unique areas like the necropolis area and the amazing partially reconstructed theatre. The museum is ordinarily. There are also ruins of Roman public latrines. It’s a must see !

One of my favourite locations while traveling through Turkey 🇹🇷❤️ This extremely photogenic ancient Greek/Roman city perched high on a hill is going to blow your mind. This place is huge and you could spend about half a day here. There's also a public hot spring pool area to enjoy or you can actually get into the natural pools by the travertines. You can see ancient travertines that flow with hot water from a nearby spring. There's a huge ancient theatre to admire as well. I loved walking around here and trying to imagine what life was like during its peak. An absolute must visit 👍👍

I stopped here as part of a tour and was pleasantly surprised at how great this site was. Most of the site is ground ruins, so you have to use your imagination, but some columns, arches, and facades still rise. The theater is an incredible spot that shows the mountains in the background. I was only here for 3 hours but could have stayed for 5. The site is well equipped, though the washrooms are pretty spread out, and it was not too busy for a Tuesday in January. (2022)

Amazing site! We went at the end of the day and stayed until sunset, it was not busy at all. We stayed for 1h45 but would have have stayed all afternoon if we could have arrived earlier. We walked to the museum, visited each room. We then had some food at the cleopatra pool, we’re we would have had a swim if we had swimsuits. After that we walked to the amphitheater, it’s in great condition and it amazing to experience ancient culture like that. Finally we walked to the water terrasses, sunset was the perfect time to walk in the warm water, deep your fit into the streams. We could have sat in the water there too. It was great and I would recommend it.

The best ancient city I've ever seen. Amazing. An absolutely must. Pay the 70 lira for the audio guide, it's well worth it. Be prepared to spend an entire day here

Must visit this place of you're in Antalya, it is 2-3hrs hours drive from City centre. Roads are good and have plenty of places to have food and break in between. You need almost a day for this, try to start early so you will have enough time to visit all 12 attractions starting from South gate. You can start from the South gate and end at an open theater, during the sunset view from the theater looks great and you can see whole place from there. Turkey museum pass work here and would be my preferred choice if you are visiting the whole of turkey. You can take a taxi or rent a car, I found renting a car convenient and way cheaper option.

Beautiful amphitheater, very well maintained. its about at 10 mins walk from the pools. you get an amazing view of the entire site and the city once you reach this amphitheater.

Very beautiful ancient site. You can walk on the old streets and even between ruins. For ancient history lovers it is a beautiful place. Alao you can enjoy the thermal springs and even swim in an ancient pool. You should take at least half a day to visit this place

Nice place to take tour at. Still significant part of this ancient city is not revealed. During the summer for sure take something to drink - there are also shops next to the Cleopatras pool.
