The place is sufficiently clean to eat. Asam pedas dish is delicious, side dishes were also nice to eat. Freshly cooked as per order, so will have to wait a while. Can savor the smell as you wait. Staff is patient and friendly. Place is outdoors, best to eat while weather is cool and not hot.

We had great food here. We sampled 4 dish combinations (can't remember now Malaysiam names): chicken with turmeric, beef with soja sauce, okra with garlic and aubergines with eggs. They were all very tasty, specially the last two. We asked for not too spicy and it was perfect.

Among the quite popular asam pedas restaurants in Langkawi is Okay Bos Asam Pedas. Perhaps because of its position, it is very easy to attract the attention of visitors from outside. The spicy asam pedas covers various types of fish such as parang fish, rays, jenahak and so on. With a thick and red gravy, it tastes very good eaten with hot rice and accompanied by fresh side dishes. In addition to the asam pedas, there is also crab curry, cooked lobster chili fat, smoked meat fat, mango kerabu, spicy fried chicken and grilled fish. Some even say that these menus are tastier than the spicy asam pedas itself, especially the grilled fish dipping sauce.

Food in Langkawi is honestly better than KL! And this stall is exceptionally well! A local friend introduced us to this place and apparently before MCO this used to a popular hangout spot for the local people during midnight (they opened until 4am). Amongst all the other slightly pricey restaurant in this island, this place is so freaking affordable and awesome. Super authentic and flavourful cooking, I wish I can come back more but they only open for the evening. They deserve more recognition in this touristy island. We were recommended to this restaurant by the manager of Arch Studio Cenang, Mr Samir. We were not disappointed with the food, service and price. When we got to the restaurant, we were about an hour early as they only open at 8 pm daily but the owner, Bakar was so accommodating and said that he would open early for us. He then proceeded to show us the menu but was not pushy on the dishes. In fact, he tried to deter us from over-ordering. Tini, his wife did a great job getting the dishes ready in very good time, considering that everything was done from scratch. Bakar was a great host and had such a friendly personality. The meal was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family and I would highly recommend this restaurant for it's quality, service and price. Great job Bakar and Tini. We will be back for sure.

We were recommended to go here by the host of the cottage(hostel) and had the best food! It was so amazing. We went there twice to try as much as possible and ate the fish, chicken, eggplant, waterspinach and spicy eggplant, but I don't think there is anything coming out of that kitchen that isn't delicious!! To top it all they are the sweetest people who took great care of us! A must eat when you're visiting langkawi!

On a cold weather, eating assam pedas fish, kankung belacan, ayam goreng kunyit and telur dadar is a combination of comfort and delight. Comforting to the soul and delightful to the taste bud. Enjoyed the late dinner with hubby here. The makcik was very friendly and funny.
