The villa and immediate pool access was so convenient and enjoyable for my family and I. The outdoor property grounds is well maintained and kept. The rooms are outdated however loved the two story space that comfortably fit 5 adults. Housekeeping and grounds staff were very friendly. My only concern was at initial check in. My kids and I arrived late (11pm) two weeks, a bit tired from our flight however excited to be on-site and start our vacation only to be greeted (lack there of) by two front desk staff members rudely as though we were intruding for checking in so late. It didn’t leave my family and I with the greatest of impressions for the front desk staff, however the rest of the service/amenities helped balance our overall experience.

The rooms themselves were nice enough, but the distance between rooms when they’re with a large party was a bit of a problem as we tried to visit with each other. The main pool was nice, and the bartenders were cool, but there was definitely not enough shade, given the bright sun. We had a couple of events with passed appetizers and food, and they were a solid seven out of 10 in taste, and the wait staff was friendly. I did have the best bacon I’ve ever had in my life at Brunch on Sunday. Perfectly thick cut and not floppy but not crispy. Loved it.

My husband and I went for a midweek getaway. We like pools, so we were excited to hear they had many options, five to be exact, however all of the pools are not available to just any guest. For example, the Villa pool was only for those who paid more for their accommodations. The two main pools were very nice, especially loved the large hot tub. I thought there were too many chairs around the main pool for the amount of guests, resulting in a 'boxed in' feeling. The food was very limited, either in the 'restaurant ' or poolside. The restaurant was a very depressing space with huge TVs all around. Very unappealing. The chicken nachos I ordered were terrible, not put together well. Super disappointing, salty and soggy. We ordered grub hub one day, from the pool, and when I went to front desk to pick it up, the two women were super rude and condescending. Instead of politely explaining why it was an issue for the hotel to accept it at the front desk, both my husband and my self were chastised rudely. Which doesn't even make sense, because as a frequent business traveler I travel all over the country, and use quite a bit of delivery apps at hotels and I have never encountered that before. The rooms are nothing special at all, no tub even. So overpriced, felt robbed. Two stars were given, one for the gorgeous grounds, old growth trees and cacti, one for the large hot tub. Oh and spa services were fine, but overpriced as well.

I travel a lot for work and pleasure, and I have to say this is the best experience at at a hotel that I have had in years. From Rachel checking us in and answering our questions to Dave carting us to and from our suite to Allison and Noelle pampering me in the spa, the staff has been beyond awesome. The bar/restaurant has friendly waitstaff as well as good food and drinks. The breakfast was so perfect that I could have ate it three times a day when we were here. The suite was pretty clean and very spacious. We really enjoyed utilizing the courtyard pool while we were here. We will definitely return and be recommending this resort to others when visiting Scottsdale!!

Good location, not in a resort like area more like shopping center haven, but close enough to old town Scottsdale and many parts of Phoenix. But terrible, terrible service. I was in room 2010 and 2009 had dogs that barked like crazy when their human partners left them unattended in the room. Had to move. Any apology? Nope. Accommodation? Nope. Help moving? Nope. Awful. Saved them money by only having them service the room 1x in 5 days. Asked only for coffee and paper cups. Front desk lady April was the MOST HORRIFIC, RUDEST, MOST ARROGANT front desk person ever. Maybe she doesn't like Asian people. Seemed liked it to me. So rude and condescending. They also make it clear they REALLY don't want to service your room. And flighty coffee makers. Omg. DJ in the swimming area on weekends was awesome. Everything else was awful.

Quite honestly disappointed. Rude front desk clerks with no empathy or service. We were treated extremely poorly. Old resort that needs a complete makeover! Bathroom shower drain was clogged, we complained 3 times and was never resolved. Over priced. The "Market" store sells 24 oz Beers for $12 each! (Easily just $3 at the local 7 eleven). The pool area is loud until 12 pm-1 am in the morning. Always had to call and request clean up of my room and towels (this should be a given without asking). None of the housekeeping staff speaks English. Quite loud at night from local traffic on Scottsdale road. Super expensive room service. In other words....bad.

I have stayed in better Motel 6's. Overpriced for the dated rooms. Room service was nonexistent. No clean towels and the bed was never made up. We attended a family members wedding, which was very nice and the reception was executed with precision. the one exception was the ants that covered the cupcakes and cake. That was the only bright point of our stay. Food service, in the restaurants, was slow and the only way to get a servers attention was to physically go and find them. The real kick in the backside was that we had to leave 2 days early for a family emergency and we were charged an early departure fee, equal to one nights stay plus taxes. How completely inconsiderate of you. I will never stay at this "resort" again.

Wasn't all that impressed with this resort. Went and tried to enjoy some time out by the pool, but apparently there is no restrictions on pool toys, there was a family group who brought atleast 5 large blow up rafts leaving not that much space for other patrons to enjoy the pool. So we went to the outside cabana for a nice refreshing cocktail....15$ per drink....and they were tiny plastic cups and weak pours. So only ordered the 2 drinks there. When it was time for bed, we couldn't even get comfortable because the springs were poking at our bodies. With as much as you're charging for those cocktails, a resort fee, and a "delivery" fee for room service, you should be able to afford better mattresses.

A fantastic resort. The room was comfortable, everything we could need was readily available on property, and every angle of the property provided a beautiful view. We enjoyed a slow morning following our stay to sunbathe, swim, and have lunch pool side. The drinks and meals were well prepared and the serving sizes had us unable to enjoy the entire plate. Truly a stress free, enjoyable resort.

The reason for my 2 star rating is because they tout themselves a 4 star resort (w/4 star prices) with a 1 star restaurant and a sub 1 star for identifying who is staff and who is a guest. A 4 star "resort" should not have primarily bar food that includes soggy tempura, mediocre pizza, meatballs I can buy at the frozen section of the grocery store, and delivery 20 minutes late to my room. The "5 pools" offer nothing unique from each other. They are pools located near the five building clusters that make up the entire complex. The staff is friendly and eager to help, and our room was well maintained and definitely above average.

My company has had us stay here the past two years for nearby training. My kids loved it last year, especially all the pools. I was solo this year. The villas are very nice, clean, spacious. The staff are very friendly, the grounds well kept. Everything is close by. I look forward to next year.

Great place for a weekend getaway. Staff was great all around. The Villa is the way to go. Super private and the main pool was great. Food was also amazing. We will definitely come back.

Travelling with family to a work conference held here. Wonderful food. Clean and comfortable rooms. We requested a room near a pool and it was perfect. Great staff. All workers who took care of us at the meeting did a great job! Pools all very nice, family friendly. Fitness center well appointed. Convenient location to restaurants and shopping. The only small issue was communication with the front desk. On arrival, I got a text inviting me to message if we needed anything. That service was unreliable. Suggest calling or in person at front desk. Hats off to the landscaping crew. Beautiful flowers, interesting cacti.

The staff was all very friendly and helpful! Cal was very pleasant every day! We truly appreciated the golf cart rides from our room whenever we needed one. Thank you, Peter, Jerry, Derek, Michael and all the Bell Hop staff.

Excellent service from day staff, beautiful landscaping, nice room, lovely pools - but there were a couple of major dealbreakers. We tried to go to bed around 9pm, but there was a wedding celebration in the courtyard pumping loud and horrible dj music - the wedding itself was fine, but there has got to be a way to point the speakers within the party area or maybe just have it at half the volume. Awful and unacceptable. The breakfast is pricy, which would have been fine except the food is extremely average. The aesthetic overall is one of fake opulence. We enjoyed our stay generally, but you should be able to be in your room without being overwhelmed by loud club music. They did offer to move us to another room, but we were absolutely exhausted and it felt like a huge hassle to pack everything up and move.

We've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The spa is an awesome bonus, as they have really good massage therapists on board, and also a full salon. The rooms are always clean, and the eateries on site are excellent. The price is always right, and they give Arizona residents discounts at the spa. Highly recommend

This is a great hotel about 10 min from Old Town Scottsdale and Fashion Square Mall. My friend and have have stayed here twice and each time the people are friendly, the rooms are nice, the pool is refreshing, and the stay goes well. Special shout out to Efren for making our stay extra amazing. He was so kind from the minute we stepped foot on the property, grabbing our bags and driving us to our room. Made us feel at home and put a smile on our faces.

Myself, my husband and newborn stayed here for 3 days. The rooms were nice and big, very clean and if anything was missing, the staff was sure to bring it to you quickly. The location was great as it is only 10 minutes to old Scottsdale but also had many restaurants and other services just across the street. The pool was also lovely and not crowded. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall, the resort was fine. What I found a little off-putting was a clump of long dark hair stuck on the shower wall that was obviously not ours. It didn't look like the bathroom was very well cleaned. Location wise, the resort is near a big playground and many restaurants, which was perfect for us.

Overall excellent experience. We checked in Thursday and I let the front office gal know we were celebrating our anniversary. She upgraded our room and had wine brought to us. Today we checked out and the gentleman was very nice about a late check out. Our room was beautiful and so is the complex. I will definitely be coming back here!

When we arrived there were 2 large full garbage bags near the door of our room. I think we were placed in an older section of the hotel. The pools were nice, but overall the hotel felt outdated. There was pasta with marinara sauce left on the floor near the side of the couch, we weren’t that hungry but maybe the next guests will be…… the outside patio area had splash and spill marks and a gross feel. The cactus garden in one area looked very neglected. The rooms are not soundproof and I woke up this morning by hearing the most heinous laugh I have ever heard in my life. The same lady kept laughing for the next 20 ish minutes. Very weird. Oh also the room was infested with spiders, luckily spiders don’t bother me much. The pillowcases were also pretty gross. The only thing making up for this all were the large pools, otherwise I’m not sure why there are so many amazing reviews of this hotel.

Our second visit (first was April 2023) and the resort met all of our expectations. Check in was quick and easy. Our request for a first floor room was met. and we found our room cool, comfortable, and super clean. We reserved a poolside cabana for the following day and changed into our swimsuits before heading to the pool. Our previous visit had allowed us to know the pool was worth the quick change over. Being a Friday evening, the pool was only being used by a few couples and we enjoyed a relaxing soak. Perfect, peaceful, everyone was respectful, and the pool and pool deck were clean and tidy. Saturday came with a record heat day of 118 degrees and the staff was incredible. The cabana was ready and waiting for our arrival, we were frequently visited to provide drinks, carafes of ice water, take our meal requests. Despite the heat, they were just the best. The pool bar closes at 6, but we chose to remain at the pool into the evening. This is when the only disappointing part of our stay occurred. Following the departure of the pool staff, the pool climate changed to a much rowdier crowd. Bluetooth speakers were busted out, the smell of pot arrived, and the pool began to look like we had been transported to a Best Western pool. Disappointing, but we had a good time to that point so we returned to the room for the evening. We'll return again as The Plaza is a place we truly enjoy and we have appreciated how courteous the staff is.

This is a nice hotel on a main road in Scottsdale, close to restaurants and 0.8 miles from a pharmacy and grocery store. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to/from local shops and restaurants for free. We used it quite a bit. The rooms are extremely clean, have a fridge and microwave but are a bit dated for this price point. The bed was comfortable and the shower was huge. The rooms are spread over several acres so if you don't have a car you might have to walk a bit in the hot Arizona sun to get to your room. The amenities include 2 restaurants (both provide room service), multiple pools, pool bar, the largest hot tub I've ever seen, meeting rooms, a business center and spa. The pool even had a DJ on Saturday. Overall, this is a nice hotel and I will def consider staying here again if I'm in Scottsdale.

My stay here was great! I loved that when it came time to check out I could text it rather than having to go to the lobby it was really convenient. The rooms feel a bit outdated and the deluxe king room didn’t have curtains (not sure about the other rooms). They just had the sliding blinds and I didn’t like that.

Stayed here for a work trip and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and well-maintained. The pool at the front of the resort is a lot prettier than the ones by the villas. The food was great and we had excellent service. I would happily stay here again. I think this resort is a little older but its still nice. I didn't realize house keeping would come by every day.I left a few things out on the bed that were of value on my first day, I came back and nothing had been disturbed. Very pleased with the earnest of the staff!

Great value. Just stopped in for a night after doing an Airbnb the rest of the weekend with friends. Food is good, lovely pools, good service and friendly staff throughout. Nicely maintained grounds. Nice spot for remote work for an afternoon. Would come back.

This was our first visit ever to Scottsdale. Our room was very nice, and there were tons of pools that weren’t too busy. The running trails around the resort were excellent, they will give you a map at the front desk. I would suggest the trail up Hummingbird to Mummy Mountain. But I was most impressed by the service. Every individual was thoughtful, and very kind. Especially impressive were Bob and Scott. Both provided fantastic service, were incredibly accommodating and very knowledgeable about Scottsdale, which was very useful for our first time. I have to say we would return just for them. We had such a relaxing and fun time, what a lovely resort!

  • 2/5 Denise S. 5 months ago on Google
The outside of the resort looks very nice, but the rooms inside not so much. We were highly disappointed in our room. Both Queen beds had stains on the sheets. One bed had someone's hair in it. The compressor on the refrigerator in the room sounded just like a dog barking throughout the night. In fact, we thought it was a dog for the longest time. The bar was supposed to be open until midnight, but they closed a little after 10pm "because it was slow". We arrived after a 14 hour drive so made do and left early the next morning. I would not recommend this "resort" to anyone. The room was over $200 which is ridiculous for the motel like room we stayed in. And here's the response I expect to get: I apologize that you had such a poor experience with the quality of your guestroom while staying at our resort. Your feedback is important to us and I will be sharing your comments with our staff so that they can be addressed.

The room was amazing. It was so roomy and clean. Love the walk in shower. I would stay here again and again. The staff are so friendly and helpful! The staff went above and beyond to get us in a great room last minute coming from a different hotel that was dirty and gross.

  • 3/5 Trevor M. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly, for the price and location I really expected more. The rooms were clean, but extremely basic. We ate at the restaurant on site, and again the food and service were what I'd expect at any chain sit-down restaurant (just very expensive). We also did a couples massage and again it was nothing special. In addition, at the spa they added a 20% gratuity without asking permission which, in this case, caused their message therapists to receive less of a tip than I planned to leave. For a thousand dollar one night get away I'll take my business elsewhere next time.

We enjoyed our stay in one of the villas. Really made it feel like we were staying in our little home. The villa pool needs some updating but the the main pool was nice.

We stayed at the Plaza in May and liked it so much we returned. If you are looking for a reasonably priced Scottsdale resort that is both relaxing and fun, this is the place. The Plaza grounds are massive and immaculately maintained. The pool complex is open 24/7 and has food and beverage service. The vibe is upbeat but not too party crazy. Our check in clerk Alicia was friendly and super helpful. Other staff members who went above and beyond were Anna C., Barb, Kaleigh and Britni as well as valet Michael. Staff was exceptionally responsive to requests for housekeeping items. We had a massive storm one night that caused some damage to resort trees and blew away a cabana. The resort staff cleaned everything up so fast most didn’t even notice the damage.

From checking to check out the staff was bending over backwards to help us with anything we needed. The room was clean and had everything we needed. My husband and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

I was so impressed with how clean the grounds at this resort where. The rooms were clean and very spacious. My family of 6 stayed in the Bi-level queen suite and never felt on top of each other. It was great to have a second bathroom downstairs too. Every employee were interacted with was very polite and helpful! The fitness center was well kept and clean. The main pool had plenty of room for guests and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was great from the Cabana Cafe and JD Lounge and prices were reasonable. Our family had a great staycation and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a great down to earth resort in Scottsdale, AZ.

Clean & spacious. Very family friendly. The interior was a wee bit dated but the exterior made up for it. Absolutely gorgeous grounds. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Plenty of seating around the pool and clean towels were readily available. Highly recommended!

It's our second time staying at this resort, it was a joyful 4th of July weekend here. The food and service was amazing! The resort is always very clean and organized, they can run low on the pool towels, so I would recommend you grab one asap otherwise they don't get restocked. We ran into that problem. Otherwise everything is amazing! Food is delicious! Will definitely be back again.

We can not recommend The Scottsdale Plaza Resort enough! They were everything we could have wanted for our wedding weekend! The staff, the event spaces we used, the food, the hotel rooms and accommodations for our guests and everything in between was above and beyond our expectations. They made the wedding planning process enjoyable and easy. We got so many compliments on every aspect of the weekend from our guests. Our point of contact/coordinator, Kristin, was so organized and helpful through everything and she truly made our day run as smoothly as possible! She was attentive, listened to our wants and needs and went above and beyond for us

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The staff was the nicest and most accommodating that I’ve ever experienced at a resort. The accommodations are so clean and well kept. The food at the restaurants was delicious. They had a shuttle that would take you where you needed to go so there is no need to rent a car. The shuttle drivers were so knowledgeable about where to go when you are new to the area. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We loved this hotel! Stayed 4 nights - the staff were all friendly and helpful and the facilities were great. A selection of pools and restaurants- ok , none of the restaurants were low priced but not too bad. We stayed into Memorial Day weekend so it was busy and lots of parties by the pool but we loved that. Will definitely stay again!

Nice Place! Great location, very clean, lot's of friendly staff to assist. Pricey during the high season, but that's Scottsdale for you! Room size is ample. Food was decent. Pool and hot tub and area were very clean. My only knock is that pool side bar pricing is a bit on the high side...$15 for a cocktail is a bit rich. I know it's high season in Scottsdale, but still... Overall a nice place and I'd recommend it for a conference, for a family during a conference, etc.

  • 5/5 David Z. 1 year ago on Google
Thoroughly enjoyable weekend getaway - for adults or couples especially! Pools were super clean and not overcrowded, food and drinks were pricey poolside, but very good. All the amenities you can ask for without having to walk too far to get them thanks to a beautiful central courtyard. Very good service and friendly staff. My wife noticed that the hotel responded to every post she read online. That's impressive. One of the posts was about the pillows being too thin; yep. Pillows, believe it or not, are worth posting about. Regardless... we'll gladly spend another anniversary weekend or two at this place!

Great resort. So much to do. Beautifully maintained and impeccable landscape. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean from top to bottom. Big rooms sub comfortable amenities. Pools are available and there's enough of them that it isn't overly crowded. Fire pits and relaxing outdoor lounge areas just to relax. Did I mention the beautiful landscaping? On site restaurants with excellent food and plenty of bar areas for cocktails. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay here, it’s a beautiful resort! We had an issue with our room and the assistant manager and staff took great care of us. Beds are very comfy and rooms are very big. Nice bathrooms too! I didn’t agree with the other reviews that said the hotel was outdated. We will be back.

My daughter and I stayed here for a few nights in October. The room was clean, and quiet. We had coffee from the cafe in the lobby and it was pretty good. We used the pool and hot tub in the evening and almost had it to ourselves. Overall, if I was going to Scottsdale again, I’d probably stay here.

Came here for a staycation for my boyfriends birthday. Staying at this resort really made the weekend the best it could be. Beautiful view of the mountain and a comfortable room with king bed. We enjoyed the hotel bar. The shuttle service is what really made this amazing, easy to go right to old town with no worries. All the staff were so kind and positive. We will definitely be coming back.

Very nice, clean property overall. The room was great and the breakout of several styles of rooms with multiple pools is a huge benefit. It's a little odd that there are no elevators for some of the buildings, but that's a fairly minor point. Would certainly stay again.

  • 5/5 Samantha C. 1 year ago on Google
Large, sprawling resort on 40 acres with beautiful landscaping and a variety on on-site amenities. I visited for a work conference and was pleased by the stay. The hotel rooms were large, and well appointed with a large bathroom with a great shower head! The walk to the main building was just right, it was nice to be able to take in the scenery on the way. Staff were friendly, and the food served to us was very delicious.
