just stopped for coffee, tea & cakes here. parking was tough but finally found one about 150m away (only to find out later that chulia court has a huge car park behind it🤦🏻‍♂️).... anyway, charming place, relaxing. the coffee & tea was good and so was the cheese cake & choc muffin. good place to relax for a while after a long day....even if its just for coffee (or tea). the service was good. the waiter (non local i believe....🤔) was hard to understand at first (his dialect) but finally got used to it. the toilet was at the back (that was when i found the car park!) and fairly clean. nice place indeed!

Unfortunately I had an exceptionally bad experience here at this apparent esteemed restaurant. First off, the service by the staff was terrible - they just quietly stare at you, no smiles, no welcomes. We went on a Friday night - it was empty except a couple of people sitting around the bar, so it's not like they had much to do. The second thing was the food. We read the reviews and was expecting some amazing pizza, since it seems like they were famous for it. Unfortunately, soggy bread and tasteless chunks of meat were on it. We also got a giant bowl of salad that were untossed, in a bowl that couldn't fit them. Fine. I decided to feedback to the manager on duty - who immediately told me that as for my first feedback, it was because the staff are new. Personally, don't think it's a good excuse to give. New or not, as a waiter, the job is to make customers feel welcomed. If you mess up the orders or things like that, fine. But friendliness isn't something trained. Secondly, he also tried to excuse the pizza, telling us some story about how it didn't use to be like that. Honestly, wasn't even planning to write a bad review, just wanted to quietly give him some constructive feedback on how to improve. But since the manager's attitude was like this, I guess that's why the staff's attitude is also like this. I really tried to have a good time, and I appreciate that the manager gave us a 10% discount of our bill, but at the end of the day, it was a really unsatisfying experience and I would recommend you to find someplace else to have a good night out.

They force you to buy a bottle at the door (minimum 420 myr). The service is terrible, and the music is below average. Design of the place makes it super crowded and hard to enjoy yourself. By the time we finished our bottle it had closed. Not even tryna be a Karen the place sorta sucked…

Very good place to go after a long day of work or even just to chill and relax. Drink you a beer, shot, glass of wine or all of the above like me😂 but they do also have some pretty good food here as well. The chef is Italian. There was a nice Chinese girl that helped him that we liked but did not see her this last time we went. She always made us laugh. But anyhow, Chulia court is a good vibe. Met the manager named Mr. Harry and he is a nice guy. Very humble and willing to welcome us with open arms and treat us very well, when we go to a place first thing is the atmosphere and the staff vibe. And we came back here a few times because they are always nice and helpful. A bunch of bars around so you can literally have a drink and people watch all the people walking to and from. Ordered three Pizzas with 3 guys. They were eatable but not at all tasty. Each pizza arrived approximately 15min after the other, even though the pub was empty. Drinks were cheap though. On a plus side, my colleague forgot his sunglasses on the table. One of the staff went after us on the street and gave them back to him. That was really nice.

We went there 2 days ago. We ordered drinks and service was very good.also ordered Northern Indian food. Garlic naan, egg masala, Dhall tadka, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and chana masala. Food was excellent. Highly recommended.

The yummiest northern Indian cuisine! Where the dishes from most Indian restaurants taste the same, each dish here has its own characteristics, subtly spiced and as authentic as the ones I had in India. Special shout out to missi roti, lacha paratha, dhal makhni (personal favourite).. and the masala tea!

Excellent location, with a huge car park at the back. Its a super plus for this area. The ambience at Chulia Court is charming and welcoming, really left the best impression. Staff members are really helpful and friendly. All the dishes we ordered were delicious! I cant even start to list which menu item is great, as they were all really good! A must try if you have not.

Chulia Court has always been one of my favorite place in Penang. The renovated rooms are very clean and cheap for bag packers especially. Service is excellent and staff are always very friendly and helpful. The Punjab food is the best in town. I never miss this whenever I am back in Penang. I wish we have this Punjabi food in Zurich. Am already looking to be in Chulia Court again in October 2024. I will definitely miss it very much. Thank you for the excellent food and service. ❤️❤️

During pandemic, it only served food and drinks. Used to be crowded pub with nice music by DJ, full on weekend. Nice cocktails, ambience and heritage antique decors. Friendly and helpful staffs. Love the OTTO pizza and calzones also new menu. Cozy place to dine in. Very recommended!

Wow! Me and my Girlfriend have been to Penang many times, especially George Town! We lived in Malaysia (KL) for the past whole year as expats and have been to Penang many times as tourists. We have never been to this RestoBar before, despite this place being on Chulia lane for a long time! We saw that place as backpackers for the first time couple of years ago and thought it's expensive - lads as of Sept 2020 it feels like one of the cheapest and more importantly - best value for money places on Chulia! The Pizza is outstanding - and (compared to KL) cheap as well!

We often pop in for chilled reasonably priced lager’s on a barmy afternoon. Cosy & intimate nooks & cranies. Not tried the food yet, but the lady from Patiala informed us that soon they will offer authentic 👳🏽‍♂️ Punjabi food.

If I could give it 0 star I would, went in there after 12pm for some dancing and drinking but it stank of smoke so much (and people were smoking everywhere around us despite signs saying you couldn't smoke inside) that we couldn't stay longer than 5mins... what a shame! Remove your signs or actually prevent people from smoking in your establishment because the vibe isn't working for us at the moment. We would've stayed if there wasn't smoking because it was unbearable the vibe was good other than that.

Massive cafe in the heart of George Town that transforms into a club once the sun goes down. The croissants there are superb! And definitely sizable; say what you want - sometimes size matters. Coffee is mighty fine, and the staff even went to get soy milk for me. They're open early so great place for breakfast and a cuppa. Lots of place to sit and chill in a classic rustic environment. Highly recommend!

Came here with a friend, ordered the Nachos. Bad taste ever. Not only they only sprinkled some onions and peppers in it and also some cheese cream and cheese, but that was all. It tasted really bad. But good side is that they replaced the nachos with chicken nuggets to compensate us. On the other hand I also want to mention that they have a really good band called as Bunga Raya.

Been coming to this Chulia Court for a few years now. Come around evening and its very lay back environment is very relaxing to chill and have a drink and if you want to have fun and let loose wait till its night time.The staff there are almost like your brothers, very friendly and they are always serving you with a smile. The food there also is nice. The drinks are reasonably priced and have all kinds of choices. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a drink or just chill with a cup of coffee.

Went here based on reviews and rating. Their nachos and turkey ham + mushroom pizza was soo good! We tried their spaghetti as well ..aglio olio was good too. We tried quite a few cocktails .. satisfying as well. Prices were relatively reasonable. Only opens till 12am so good to go early if you wanna spend some quality time chit chatting.

It is still MCO so gotta follow the SOP...but the place is awesome...look out for Ali the Bartender! He'll fix u up with a cocktail that'll suit your mood :) Fun friendly guy with the coolest hair! If you're hungry grab a bite as they do serve food... mostly foods that you normally get in a bar.... If you're a Shisha lover let them know...and they'll set one up for you to enjoy!

I ordered the ham & mushroom pizza, which was quite nice. I must say that service was pretty slow though (even though the place was pretty empty when I arrived). Took well over 45 minutes to get the pizza.

The staff tried to charge me RM46 for a bottle of water. Disgusting service, won't be back.

It's ain't a hell great of a place to party compared to KL, so pls don't be so rude & proud just because you don't have competition. Quite liked the lighting, music by the dj and rustic decor. Price was on the expensive side however. "Clubbing time" is after 10pm and u would be required to buy drinks before entering. If u have an issue with cigarette smoke then this wouldn't be the place for u since people smoke regardless of the sign prohibiting smoking

Chulia Court is a fabulous location with easy parking. Options for day time drinking ☺️, amazing Punjabi food either lunch/dinner and clubbing at night with different DJ’s. Their menu has a variety of proteins and vegetarian options. Partly why I have been going a few times to try most of the dishes which have all been delicious. The parathas are the best I have had. Paired very well with their dhall or one of their curries. I have ordered on Grab Food which is so great for entertaining at home. The food arrived well packed and still warm. 👏👏
