It’s a castle themed hotel, mostly used for hosting events like weddings. The inside look like a Harry Potter movie. The staff are friendly and their buffet is so so good. They got a restaurant located inside the hotel that has services 24/7. They also got a small swimming pool on the roof. The rooms are a bit small though.

They say they are the most famous castle in Brazil but then when you get there to visit there is a bday party going on and you can’t get in...what’s the point of getting tourists there with this advertisement if they won’t be able to get to know the castle???

It is a very pleasant place. Modern with antique site combined. Very good restaurant and nice hospitality.

HOTEL REVIEW- TL;DR- A run down castle themed motel six- smoker room. Check in at 15h, we arrived at 16h and were told we still had to wait. First they said more thorough cleaning due to covid, then another member of the staff told us the AC unit was broken and they brought in a mobile unit. We booked the imperial suite, and in the photos you’ll see what our expectation was. We even called to double check that that would be the room. They checked on our arrival that we had an imperial suite. The room we were put in felt like a run down castle themed motel six, smokers room. Dark and stuffy, smelt like cigarettes, wall paint peeling off and just felt dirty in general. Needless to say we asked for our money back. The staff was very kind though, hopefully they stop false advertising for that room.

Please note that the below review does not cover hotel, restaurant nor the party staying in the castle but had been written after visiting the place as a tourist. This place may be an awesome area for a party (as it seems to be created for this) but If you think that visiting the castle could be a nice thing to do while in Itaipava than you are wrong... There is absolutely nothing to see/do for "the visitors" (ok, the view is quite interesting but you can have it anywhere in the area). I have seen other people's comments that it is not worth visiting but I unfortunately I was not smart enough to stay at home. The castle outside is not really representative (I carried my camera for nothing), the shop has nothing interesting to offer (I was really hoping to get some cool souvenires but found just few low-quality glasses and toys) and it has this "plastic card" that you get at the entrance. No idea why this was implemented as it brings no benefits but complicates stuff all right (I was for such a long time in a line to pay for one item that i needed to give it up at some point. I could not just give back the item and walk away - i still needed to be attended by the cashier who would cancel the item record from my card. Who had this brilliant idea???). Also, the official website does not contain the basic information for visitors (or it is really well hidden) such as: prices, hours and details on the visiting. Also, don't go there by Uber - apparently there are some GPS signal problems as no driver could find us. If you are planning to visit the castle for a different reason than a party - rethink your plans. The place has lot of potential - hopefully will be utilized in the future.

The Castelo de Itaipava is very beautiful and hás Very Nice statues of medieval figures, like Knights, horses and Lions. The Restaurant was full and they informed that the lunch would take longer than usual. However, It took longer then promised and It was missing some itens requested. Overall, It is a place that worth the visit.

The restaurant is beautiful. It has a big variety of beers, wines. The lunch is good, There are some executive choices. Confortable and quiet. It is a Nice place to lunch.

I was expecting more from the castle. The room had a Air conditioning water leaking, that basically flooded part of the room, and the shower also leaked water to the bathroom. The inside of the castle doesn't have that air of a medieval castle like it was supposed to.

Great beers and appetizers! There is a good place for kids to play while the parents can enjoy the bar. There is also good live music.

Wonderful , restful overnight stay..

My favourite place to go in Itaipava! A very beautiful and classic castle, good restaurants and a wedding venue suggestion!
