My son loves fish and chips, so I wanted to take him for some good English fish and chips. I had never been here before, but heard lots of good thing. So happy that this place did not disappoint. Our server was so nice and friendly and oh yes, those were some excellent fish and chips. Everything washed down nicely with a cold pint of Boddingtons to make for a great Sunday afternoon.

Our server “Sunna” hid the itemized bill from us and neglected to tell us that the tip was already included. She handed us the credit card machine which just asks for a tip percentage so I chose 20%. I asked for an itemized bill later so my friends could Venmo me and then I realized there was already a $48 tip included. So she was getting an extra $60 on top of the $48 included tip for a $233 tab. There’s no mention of this on the menu for larger parties (we had 6) and she didn’t tell us it was included. Just handed me the machine and asked me to select a tip percentage. We had to ask for some money back and she was very rude about it. Trivia is a joke here. Tons of people on their phones the whole time. The person who won trivia was using his phone the entire time. The owner runs the trivia and he gives away answers to tables when he feels like it. If you are serious about pub trivia, go somewhere else.

Love this place! I stayed in midtown for a few days and found this spot when looking for drinks and food, later into the night. They serve food until 1AM! The English Kebab was so good! Nice selection of drinks, although kind of pricey. The server, shorter blonde gal, was covering the whole place - she was very attentive. Also, the random music hits made anyone feel welcome, I think I heard dubstep, jazz, pop, and rock, all within 20 min. I highly recommend!

The blonde bombshell bartender makes this place stand out. She is simply amazing. Never had cold scotch eggs but learned something new today! The shepherds pie was ok and the hot English custard was ok. This place is amazing because their kitchen doesn't close until 1am!

Everything was delicious. Atmosphere is inviting and service was friendly. Fish and chips tasted fresh and perfectly crisp. Bangers and mash (with grilled onions - yum) is categorically heavenly. Chicken curry pastie (as an appetizer) was so good I think I will have it as an main dish next time. Great selection of beers on draft, 2 pool tables, one dart board, multiple tvs, surrounded with British flair. You can easily spend hours here.

recently visited George & Dragon to celebrate St. Patrick’s day and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The customer service quality was extremely low, making it the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a long time. The lady at the bar was completely uninterested in serving me and repeatedly said “I will come back to you” four times, leaving me waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. After realizing that we were not going to receive any service at the bar, we decided to get a table. However, the server spilled the first drink we ordered on the floor and had no problem with it, showing a complete lack of care and attention to our needs. Later on, she completely ignored my sign to order another drink and started dancing with her back turned towards me. I found the customer service at George & Dragon to be appalling, with no problem-solving attitude, empathy, manners or respect. I would highly advise others to avoid this place at all costs. It was a truly terrible experience, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Nice little pub for going out with the lads. A mellow red glow sets the tone for a relaxed environment to tip some back and grub out on some English foods. The real star of the show though, it’s the gravy. Slather some of that precious liquid over whatever your gobbling down for the night to loosen up your salivary glands and lubricate your pastie on its trip towards your bowels. I only went here once but it made me proud to be a quarter English.

Great take on an Engllish style shepherds pie since I'm accustomed to Irish pubs. Also the pint of Guiiness I ordered wasn't in a Guiness tulip shaped glass BUT it was poured correctly so the flavor was still great 👌

Good beer selection on tap as well as full bar. Food is great. 2 pool tables and dart boards...as well as Golden Tee game. It gets more crowded as the night goes on...as well as louder. Has an area for large groups. A good night out place

The food, I mean EVERYTHING on the menu is phenomenal! From fish and chips (THE BEST EVER!) to curry at a true English Pub… The wait staff is attentive and down to earth, yet providing level nine service…the patrons are some of the friendliest, hyper intelligent and interesting people we have ever had the opportunity to engage with…my wife and I have been back here 15 times in 2 months…and typically don’t go out! The place is “Cheers” on steroids!!!! It has truly elevated our lives in many ways and are grateful we have found a place that is like a second family (including Grandma’s homemade gravy!) Thanks David for creating such a beautiful atmosphere and taking pride in what you do…we love you all!!! Chase & Greta

We walked in before heading to a music festival across the street. So it was buzzing, but not overly crowded. Service was kind of slow, there's no order. We walked in and sat ourselves, which is fine but then the servers were just walking around and would pass us. Finally we waived one down, placed our order. We had the club sandwich and the chicken tenders. The tenders were the right amount of crispy. We inhaled those, we asked for buffalo sauce and ranch to go with them. The club came with fries. Those were pretty good, unfortunately we didn't get to eat the sandwich. We took it to go and gave it to a homeless man at the park. We will def be back to try the sandwich though. It looked amazing!

This is a great little pub on Central avenue just north of Indian School next to the clever koi. It's a type of place where you instantly feel comfortable. Pool tables, a nice outdoor patio, and friendly service. They have a nice tap selection and also a good selection of beer with mix ins. I had a Guinness with vanilla vodka and it was great. We didn't sample the food but we will next time

A welcoming bar environment with friendly and attentive staff. It was decently busy for a Tues night. Tried their wings which were well cooked and presented the wings seperated by wing/drummette which was cool. Staff recommended the fish and chips so i tried it. While I get that Fish and Chips is fried, some places Fish & Chips are more greasy than others. I felt this version of Fish and Chips was on the greasier side unfortunately. However, the fish was a meaty helping with flaky chunks of cod. So it was good, just a little greasy for my taste. Quality fish. The wife had the veggie patsie which she raved about how flavorful it was. She was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the pocket of "goodness." Pros: Staff really paid attention to customers, it's clear they want the customers to be happy. Really appreciated the staff. Environment was laid back and enjoyable. Cons: Lighting could have been a little better, but it's not a problem.

Great Food! Opted for the Fish and Chips, presentation was superb. Perfectly golden brown crust with flaky white filets. Pleasantly surprised by the Lemons, grilled and charred a bit bringing out extra flavor and killing some of the acidity, who does that on a simple fish dish? Excellent all around

Words cannot describe how awesome these folks are! Not only was the pudding delicious and quizzing fun, but we lost a phone and the ENTIRE staff jumped on it and got it back for us! People don't act like that anymore!

Wow! Its like a bar that would go with the song " I love this bar!". Cool laid back peaceful environment. But I decided to eat and the food was awesome and they have a menu you just won't find anywhere else and the bathrooms were clean! Jody is awesome!

One of the main reasons I like this place is the atmosphere that it provides everyday you come in there. Especially love coming and watching the Euro cup, the world cup, Wimbledon, or any other football event involving Arsenal here. I think you have to give a lot of the credit to David himself. He's a great owner, cool guy and somebody who really wants to get the vibe of a true English pub. This is as close as it gets and my mum and I come here to feel like we are back in England again.

So my mum who, decided to pop up for two weeks loves English pubs. Gives her a little feeling of home. Great atmosphere went here to try there fish and chips and boy oh boy was it good, we had to come back the next day. Good spot to watch the game. Also my mum had her favorite bread pudding 🤤 I never had and now I'm addicted. Definitely a spot I will continue to come to even when my mum leaves 😃

Just Wow! Came here to find out what Yorkshire pudding is. The food was excellent as well as our awesome server. Place is very nice, clean, and plenty of TVs to watch sports. What a great place! Come on Sundays for the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

3️⃣-Point Review ✅ 🍔Food🍟 • I've been to the sports bar twice already, and got "THE Halo-Burger" both times. It's a very rich burger with a slab of caramelized cheese that nearly covers the entire plate. I'm guessing it's some British way to serve a burger? They serve steak fries (chips as they say) which are good. The draft beer was cold as well. Great pub menu with dishes you probably won't see at too many other bars ‍👨‍🍳Service‍👩‍🍳 • Full sit down restaurant with a large bar. Friendly servers who help with the menu 🪑Atmosphere🍽️ • As if you stepped into a British pub, tons of soccer stuff I don't understand lol. Lots of TVs inside. Pool table as you walk in. Large outdoor patio.

First time here. If I could give 10 stars I would. Great English pub. Inside doesn’t disappoint. Service was on point. She was the best. Knew her bar and menu. She brought over her favorite beer for us to sample. Recommendations on the menu was just what we were looking for. The food was so much more than I ever expected. Fish & chips - best I’ve ever had. Also ordered the meatloaf. Excellent. Really, excellent. Definitely coming back. Great atmosphere.

Solid choice for an English pub with great generous portions of fish & chips chicken curry pasty was delicious but next time ask for no beef gravy on the mashed potatoes. Curry sauce was really tasty. Great place to watch sports especially soccer. We'll be back maybe on Sunday for the new Zealand lamb dinner. Reasonable prices good service, fun atmosphere they even have pool tables! Oh get the wings medium were awesome.

The outside off the place is kind of offputting...very shabby and neglected looking... Went there because of groupon deal they had... inside is more appealing though still a bit "dusty". Kind of dark, but with a lot of English pub flair. Interesting eclectic decor with massive fireplace. Pretty big place...I would estimate 150 guests fit easily. Friendly wait staff. Food was okay...nothing to boast about.

I've been wanting to visit this establishment for nearly two decades. What stopped us? Who knows but probably time to get here from various parts of the valley. I really enjoyed being here. It's as close to a pub as you'll probably get in PHX. Go see Ryan, she took care of us from the jump. Again, plenty of beer and other libations if you fancy something else.

First time here. Got the fish and chips and a side of fried zucchini. Both were really good. One of my pieces of fish seemed to have bristle.. or weird texture. That sucked. The breading was so good thought. The zucchini was good. Our server was fast with everything and our beverages. We sat out on the patio too. She was awesome! The Cole slaw seemed heavy on the garlic. I will definitely be back again though. Sit inside, items very cool atmosphere and decor.

Came here for brunch on Sunday. Not many people inside. There’s a lot of high tops but there were lower tables as well. There’s 2 pool tables inside. I got the classic American breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage and toast. Nothing special about it. Pretty basic. My brother got the eggs benedict it was good. My sister got the turkey club and it was good. The service was really slow. Maybe there wasn’t enough people working. I only saw one waitress.

As a soccer fan (only reason I went) the bar was cool, the atmosphere was almost nonexistent and the soccer game was played on nbc sports gold (on top of not being an advocate of that) the game lagged alot and had many moments where it had to load and it jumped around. The bar itself and the bartender were the only saving graces

They can make a Black and Tan and a Black Velvet. It's an Irish bar with lots of space inside. They do have some seating outside bit not as much. The parking round the back gets full on busy days. Overall I like this place. It's a nice place to grab a drink.

This was my first time at this English pub and I walked away disappointed. The atmosphere and vibes seemed to be there, but the service and attention to detail was not. Just like a lot of covid related issues this business seems to be struggling by lack of staff or incompetence at some level. I was able to get some beers (i feel like this is mostly meant to be a bar) but when it came to getting food that was a different story. i ordered my appetizer potato wedges and they never showed up. Eventually the bartender came by and apologized and basically said in so many words they never even started the order. I had also ordered my main dinner the shepherds pie a little after the potato wedges. Those hadn't been started either. it took them an egregiously long amount of time to get me my food. if your going for drinks i think your fine. if your going to eat id say thats a hard pass. Cheers

Thanks boys for a great fish meal.

George and Dragon is a great English pub in the heart of Phoenix.. The decor, the vibe and the music made it authentic. They have an outdoor area in the front on Central. They have a couple of pool tables too. Have an authentic English pint here.

A great take on a British pub - doesn’t look much from the outside and in a odd location but once inside, it’s just like an English pub including having the dartboard for a game of darts. Sadly the food experience for us was lackluster .. we got scotch egg and sausage rolls for us all. Firstly the sausage meat was lovely and the waitress told us they use a British butcher who makes the sausages/meat. The sausage roll was tasty although not as good as Gregg’s, it did the job! Now sadly the scotch egg was horrid - it was cold, the egg was over cooked and the outer coating was like thin cardboard - we left it after one bite. The fish and chips came and the chips were cold! The waitress got some others but by the time they arrived we’d eaten the fish as hate cold food! The fish was North Pacific Cod and the batter was ok … it wasn’t busy but maybe we came on an off day do we may go back and try it again to see if it was but overall, we expected better food especially as the owner is British

Met my dad here for lunch and the food was good, a bit off for seasoning but still good. I was impressed by how well they brought a British pub to the states. Had the Black Velvet from their very interesting drink list, good flavour and balance of heavy and light.

Ever since I visited England for the first time this past May I have been coming to George and Dragon often. Love this place! The English breakfast & the bangers and mash are outstanding. I hosted a mixer there September 30 and the staff was EXCEPTIONAL! Megan took amazing care of my party and everyone was really happy. I came back two days later on October 2 and as always Leah was awesome. You must go to this place!
