Such a cozy and fun spot to grab drinks and eats with friends and see a show. It’s not a big venue but that’s what I like about it - it’s intimate and has great acoustics. I was really impressed with the food menu, awesome options for bar snacks. Overall, fab spot to enjoy a night out!

You will absolutely have to hunt to find this place, conveniently located down an alley where you (probably, definitely) won't get murdered. It's a small venue for a show, so you're going to be in tight quarters. As someone fresh out into the world post-covid, this is a slightly scary experience. However, it does make it so you can always have a good view of the band (as long as you're tall). The cocktails are pretty good, I enjoyed the paloma I had. And they have some skeeball in the back of the bar that is always a sign of a fun time.

One of my favorite bars to hit downtown. Such a fun vibe. You can really tell how popular it’s gotten in recent years, which rightfully so. Inwardly I do miss having it not quite as busy, I felt a bit claustrophobic with the amount of people there last night. BUT can’t beat the price of their drinks or amount of fun it is!

The venue is no frills and a great spot for a pure music experience. Get there early if you want to be close to stage, however, from anywhere in the joint you can close your eyes and just let the music tickle your eardrums. Either way, a great experience.

Been wanting to check this spot out for some time. Did not disappoint. Loved this place. Our kind of crowd, chill friendly vibe. Nice, old, cozy building... underground. Interesting interior with different rooms/bars. Bigger than you think it's gonna be. Stopped in mid evening, just to see what's up. Had a few drinks in The Rose Room, listening to a great, chill D.J. They offer some eats.. will try on next visit. Service is excellent! Very friendly & welcoming. Around 10pm, another D.J. in the other room started her set.. had to go check that out. Dance music! Hung out there for a long time! Love this place. May have been our first visit but not our last. Can't wait to go back! Pay parking is available in multiple areas close by.

This past Apr 22' my girlfriend and I were in Phoenix and looking for a enjoyable night on the town. I had found valley bar on a list of hidden speakeasies around the Phoenix area. Finding it wasn't much of a difficulty as we were guided there by one of the very helpful city ambassadors that you might find in their orange shirts roaming the city looking for obvious tourists to help. The vibe of this establishment is a mixture of dive bar with a bit of class. The drinks were strong and well concocted, there is a small room off to the side that is the "bit of class" I was talking about. We happened to be there on the day of a show and decided to go all in and enjoy everything valley bar had to offer that night. All in all we quite enjoyed ourselves, we also met friendly people and the live music was a particularly cool way to enjoy our first night in Phoenix.

Valley bar is amazing. Great prices on drinks. Good tone and vibe to the bar itself. Live performances are fantastic. Has a game room. Two pool tables, 2 dart boards, skeeball, and shuffle board. Definitely a place to check out downtown!

I loved this place! There are 2 sections depending on whether you want to go clubbing or just sit and relax. The drinks are good prices compared to bars around the area and music is always great! This will definitely be my favorite go-to bar now.

I had the pleasure of spending an evening at Valley Bar recently, and it left quite an impression on me. The dimly lit, Underground setting gives it a cozy feel. And the bar menu offers a good variety of cocktails, beers and spirits.

Definitely a cool venue. Only issue is that according to the “owner’s rules” we couldn’t bring a Nikon 35mm camera because it was a “professional camera”. We were very rudely escorted out of the bar just for having it and wanting it returned. Do better you all.

Highly disappointing. Yeah, door is in an alley. You go down some stairs. The entire setup seemed contrived. We were a large group, but the service was a bit slow. We were also excited as it was a friend's birthday. Apparently, this is looked down upon. While waiting for our drinks we were, rather rudely, told that we were being too loud. Firstly, our group numbered more than other customers and staff combined, so it will happen, especially with the music rather loud for polite conversation. Second, when expressing the situation could've been handled much better, the same waitress got confrontational and came and asked how she could've done that. I mentioned the number of people, and she said it was annoying to her. So I don't know if this waitress in particular had some kind of issue with our group, or they have some kind of odd volume level rules, but we were told by 2 other people at other places that they'd had issues and been told to leave Valley Bar before as well. I will say that, once we were told to leave a couple members of our party got a bit prickly as well. A couple of us did attempt to apologize for that, but were just pushed out the door. Considering we spent approximately 20-30 minutes there, and this was the entirety of our experience, I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone I know. Especially after hearing this kind of treatment is not unheard of there from multiple other sources.

The waiter was so nice! They had short black hair and were wearing shorts with fishnets. Just want to shout them out! The guacamole and chips was really good too! Drinks were strong and def hit the spot. Everyone was really nice and they cleared our table when it would get busy. Good music and relaxed vibes! Definitely coming here again!

Great venue for live music. Hard to find a music venue that has great air conditioning and knows how to mix live music. Will return for future events.

Random stop on a Tuesday night that turned out to be a very nice place with great drinks. Had 2 areas within the location which one area had am event going on and the other area was free just to mingle and play pool or darts.

We love this place. We've come here to see a few concerts and also just to hang out with friends. The concert room has a separate bar, but the main bar has such a cool vibe. Drinks are a little pricey but they are totally worth it, and the staff are great. They have games like jenga and few arcade games in the back. We will definitely be back!

Extremely cool and mysterious bar/venue. I attended for Odd Future Friday and I would LOVE to see that event happen again! My only complaint is that it's SO dark and I kept needing to be aware for my surroundings and bag because I didn't feel confident to trust people around me but otherwise the music was great, decor different!, drinks refreshing, and next time I'll be back to play some billiardsl 👀

Enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. A surprising amount of chill people with good vibes. DJ was amazing and friendly. Not to mention the yummy bar food and cozy seating. Did I mention live music? Cause that was awesome too you know! Definitely a place to visit with the friends, family, gamer buddies, gym pals, book club, mommies trying to get relaxation for just a one second...you get the picture :))

Awesome hole in the wall bar! The bartender is very knowledgeable on his drinks and opened me to a whole new world of drinks. They have two pool tables and a shuffle board to keep you entertained. I couldn't stay long this time, but you better believe I'll be back!

Great atmosphere, love the board games option. Wish some Spanish music would be mixed in with the hip hop "day" since reggaeton is a version of it.

We saw the Kaleidescope Kid here with The Hourglass Cats and Prefect. Super chill venue, pool tables, shadow bar and the constant linger of incense. I'll be back.

Bartender was very courteous & helpful. Service was prompt. But food order was messed up by cook. Prices a bit high. Cool speskeasy vibe. But, then bar music (not music act) came on, was extremely loud at bar & in pool table area. Asked for it to be lowered & it was. But, still too loud to chat with friends. So left.

Not gonna lie, when I first tried to find the entrance I thought I was gonna get stabbed. Turns out I was *supposed* to enter into the alleyway on the right side of Cornish. Good pool tables and the atmosphere was cool. They search you and your bags before you enter, so I'd be wary about bringing in concealed weapons. The music gets pretty loud though. I went here to check out their Japanese city pop night once and I was pretty disappointed. They only played 2 Japanese vaporwave-style songs and the rest was just club music.

A rock-solid (literally) underground bar. Really good drinks with a number of cocktails themed after local AZ names and faces. The venue space is pretty limited though so unless the dude you're there for is way small, expect to be friends with the people around you.

This place is really the only place for smaller artists to visit Phoenix. Luckily the Valley Bar is great at keeping everything lively without making anyone feel unsafe, albeit the entrance is in an alley. It is one of my favorite venues comparatively to others I have been to.

  • 5/5 Mason B. 2 years ago on Google
This place was super cool! Their cocktails are pretty darn stiff 🤣 not that that's necessarily a bad thing. The atmosphere by the bar was very cool. They have all of these hanging decorations with a light projector behind it to cast all of these moving shapes on the walls. It was fairly packed but there's also a couch section with some pool tables, and a shuffleboard table. They also have a separate area for dancing with 2 separate DJs (usually) and 2 separate bars in each area. Don't be turned off by the entrance to this place, it is extremely upscale once you get downstairs into the actual club.

Fantastic bar. Great cocktail menu. Comfy seating. Spooky shadow mobiles. Had to remove a star because they didn't have blue curacao and I was not able to order a Blue Wave shot for my colleague. May as well have a sign on the door that says "No patrons whose oldest kid is finally old enough to watch their siblings."

  • 5/5 susan k. 1 year ago on Google
Performance was excellent the only thing is that you're sitting on folding chairs. And they have a separate bar from the big bar in the other room. Parking on Adams was perfect. Such an intimate setting you're right next to The entertainment.

  • 5/5 Michael I. 1 year ago on Google
Went here for a concert, so not the usual "bar experience". However, it was super fun and unique, and reminded me of an underground speakeasy with lots of industrial styling and interesting items. Very dark and cool, a respite for the long, hot Arizona summer days. It's a little difficult to find, as the main entrance is a service door in an alley behind a bakery, but I think that's kind of the idea. Overall, good drinks, service, and music if you're there for a concert!

  • 4/5 Joseph C. 11 months ago on Google

Hadn’t been here in forever but went last night. We had a great time! Had drinks and met some cool people. It didn’t even matter that we were older than everyone else. Lol! They were playing mostly 90’s music anyways so the vibe was just right!

  • 5/5 Thumpdizzle 4 months ago on Google
Super cool lil venue with a speakeasy type vibe, since you're entering through a back alley and going down stairs. The live room sounds surprisingly good for essentially being a basement.

I love Valley Bar, and I recommend it to people all the time. I do think there’s some room for improvement with service - I’ve never really had great service here. Just moody people mainly lol. Their dance floor is fun, but sometimes they can play too weird of music

  • 5/5 K 4 years ago on Google
This place is a cute speakeasy to get a drink at. They almost always have a live band, the vibe is very relaxed, and it’s not too loud. They’ve got a few different bar games to play, as well as complimentary board games. Nice hideout and good drinks!

  • 4/5 Qween S. 4 years ago on Google
First time... and I enjoyed myself. It IS in the cut...off the alley and downstairs. The food was good...carne asada burrito and chips and guacamole. My drink was STRONG. The music was different for me but enjoyable...DJ played. No trance or techno... I will go back with my friend again.

The happy hour here is hands down one the best in AZ, I enjoy going here alone due to the books. It reminds me of being in New York, I am bi coastal and this gives me a vibe of being home. I come here often for the Pink Peppercorn Ice Cream.

The story behind the bar is so cool, check the menu and graphics above the bar for the details!! Shuffleboard, darts, board games, pool, ski ball, and concerts in the room next door are what all make this place special. It's a great place to chill on weekdays or go out on weekends although it can definitely get busy!! Be prepared for a line outside in the alley on busy weekends or during concerts.

It’s the second time a coming here in the last 3 year and I absolutely love this place !!! Every time it’s a great experience!! They have great menu and great price and every night different show , the waitress was super nice and friendly and every couple minutes she make sure we have all we need , we ordered the chips and guacamole and cheese quesadillas and they both was delicious!!! It’s was so good we reorder them twice !! Definitely going to come back here and recommend to all my friends!!! The only small problem with this place is that there is no parking space around so you should come with Uber but it’s kind of understandable after all it’s downtown , HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Had a horrible experience here Saturday 2/22 night. Staff was incredibly rude and short tempered. Unbelievable! One server was walking behind me and I tried moving out of their way—I heard him say snarkily ‘great now you’re in my way’. Really?!? And one server scolded us for trying to split the bill at her station. She could have kindly said she would do it for us somewhere else. Just rude. Never going back. There are much nicer places in that area that I’ll give my business to.
