This was our first time back in a few years. Last rime we visited I thought the food was good though a bit over priced. This time it was delicious and although still expensive, it was worth it in my opinion. The service was excellent, ambiance and music was nice, and the Sticky Carmel Cake was worth its weight in gold. The drinks were strong, the chicken wings were spicy without being overly so, the Prime Rib sandwich was awesome, and the salmon was done to perfection. I highly recommend a visit if you can afford it. We will most certainly be back soon.

We were in town for the race...saw this place and simply ate here based on the name. Service was good..not exceptional..but hey. Food was great..and when combined with the atmosphere...what a great meal and indeed would highly recommended either outside dining or inside..which looked very classy. Its downtown so the parking thing may be an issue..we jumped the rail..which puts you blocks away. Amazing place for sure and we'll done guys.

Second time at arrogant butcher. My first time was for lunch. The food is solid and the drinks are great. For lunch the French dip is very good. For dinner, I highly recommend the crispy chicken breast (amazing thin cut with the crab meat on top!) or the sea bass that melts in your mouth. This place gets busy and has an outstanding record of solid food and service. Come casual and enjoy!

Went here TWICE while we were in the city for an event, it was that good. Everything we tried was phenomenal. The pretzel bites were a very creative appetizer that tasted great with the included cheese sauce. The short rib was tender, and the side of homemade Mac and cheese is a no-brainer. Desserts were amazing as well. Few other items that we tried as well that were great. Really can’t go wrong with this place. (Service was fast and waiter was friendly as well)

Good flavor, good service, I ranked 4 stars due to the meat proportion you can see in the Smoked Pork Cubano picture. The sandwich was 2 slices of ham and a very small amount of pulled pork that was heavy on the bread. I would of had my server correct this but didn't want to embarrass my company. The burger was good and the appetizer was delicious. I would not recommend this one entree.

Everything was delicious and I would definitely return. The Prime Rib was delicious, as expected. The meatballs were the star of the meal; unexpectedly out of this world. The oysters were a perfect appetizer and shucked perfectly to keep them full of their natural oyster liquor.

Fabulous restaurant! The food is excellent and the service is BETTER! We had a mistake on our order and the waiter not only corrected it, but made it worth our while. So impressed. If you're in downtown Phoenix, give it a try!

One of the best prime ribs I have had. The seasoning is perfect! I also enjoyed their Mac and cheese. We had multiple appetizers and all were delicious! Our waitress was kind and quick to serve us. Highly recommend trying it. Prices are right on for the meal you get!

Greeted and seated right away. Isaac appeared quickly, and handled all my questions. I went the berry margarita, prime rib with Mac and cheese and the cheese cake for dessert. Staff was friendly and I didn't have to ask for anything. The prime rib was almost spoon tender and an inch thick. The Mac and cheese was smooth and creamy, while the strawberries provided just the right amount of sweetness. If your in Phoenix, stop in, they are right by Chase field.

Not a fan of the meatballs, way too much salt. The nachos were better than expected. Will say did appreciate the portion sizes. Overall would give it another shot to try different items. Side note, women's bathroom a nice aesthetic.

Great downtown location. Staff and service was perfect. Had the Butchers Platter and split with the wife. Also, had some of the fresh oysters, a must. Will be back to enjoy some more of the oysters and try another dish.

This place has got to be one of the coolest spots. I got the cocktail on special which was this refreshing bourbon-pineapple and had the pretzel bites as an appetizer. The pretzels came out hot and fresh and the cheese it came with was so perfect and gooey. I then ordered the pasta pictured, and it was the perfect end to my meal. It was spicy, cheesy, basil goodness and I absolutely loved it. The ambiance is spectacular, a comfortable and cozy industrial vibe. Will be coming here again!

This is a great place, and we'll be back for food, atmosphere, and service!! We came for drinks and small bites, but definitely gonna go back for a full meal (seafood and raw bar looked amazing!)! Drinks were great, bartender was very knowledgeable, and the have some great house special drinks. We had the meatballs and they were amazing! Such a cool atmosphere... open windows for a gorgeous Phoenix day. A big shout out to bartender (I want to say name is Patrick) but he was great and above that he had a questionable patron come to the bar (definitely intoxicated or something wrong)... instead of just dismissing he struck conversation, refused alcohol (great decision), but offered up water and food. It was an awkward situation but handled with true professionalism and made it a no impact situation for other patrons... which could have been completely opposite... we were impressed.

Casual place with incredible apps and entrees. The server was super helpful and knowledgeable on each dish. The nachos were ginormous and super light which was unexpected but it was great. The meatloaf was incredibly soft and flavorful and complimented extremely well with the mash. The mash flavor is delicious with the buttered string beans. Would definitely recommend any of these dishes! 2nd time coming Had to come back before I left Phoenix, the artichoke chip and dip was a nice blend of crispy yet light, a great start to my dinner. I ordered the crispy chicken and the combination of crab and chicken with each bite, dipped in the sauce was delicious. I love the atmosphere of the servers, my food took a little long but she came out and offered me free dessert for the inconvience which shows they really pay attention. I also had the prime rib dip was also very good. Lastly the dessert was sticky caramel cake and was super soft and moist, and it wasn't too sweet. Perfect ratio on this dessert.

Excellent spot downtown Phoenix. Open, inviting atmosphere. Excellent service! Loved the menu. There's definitely more I want to try. We went with the House Pretzels & Provolone Fondue.. so good. Entrees: The Butcher's Meatloaf..loved it, really good. The Prime Rib French Dip.. excellent. Too full for dessert this time, but definitely look at what they offer - they all sound so good. We parked in the paid outdoor lot across Jefferson, South of the restaurant, our server mentioned they'll validate parking for a couple parking garages close by.. something to think about.

My hubby and I had a date night here last year and it popped up in my memories. I realized I forgot to have an amazing review. They have THE BEST OYSTER 🦪 BAR in Phoenix. The appetizers and meals were delicious. It's located right in the heart of Phoenix on Jefferson close to Chase Field. (Note that for game days there can be traffic and hard to find parking).

We stopped in for lunch and were not impressed. Half of our order was good (not great) and the other half was subpar. We ordered a chicken dish and a pasta dish. The chicken dish was flavorful, but the pasta was just spicy, and all one could taste was the heat of the peppers and nothing else. We had 2 drinks and one was mostly ice and very little of the drink's other ingredients. The dessert was flavorless and just sweet. The service was friendly, helpful, and attentive, so no issue there. The place looks outdated, and if you park in the building's garage (underneath the restaurant), you can get validation, so parking is free. We will not return.

This was the best place to stumble into for a late lunch. The atmosphere felt great, the service was amazing and friendly, and the food was delicious. Some highlights: the Oysters from from California and they had an incredible oily and fatty flavoring. They’re served with a special green sauce that you have to try. The NY Strip and Truffle Fries really hit the spot. Nothing felt overwhelming, it was just a good eat. Finally, do not skip dessert! Especially if you’re on the hunt for carrot cakes. The Vegan Carrot Cake was so good. It’s moist, zesty, carrot-y, and delicious.

This spot is located right near the hotel i was staying at in Phoenix during a business trip. I tried to get in on Saturday when I arrived into town but the place was packed and the wait time was long. I told some of my co-workers about this place and we decided to go after work during the week so I planned ahead and made reservations via Open Table. The hype is real and well deserved. Great atmosphere, great service and most importantly, great tasting food. The drinks were also very well made, so I am unable to remember whT each dish is in the pics I posted, but I will update the pics with names when I can. If you're in downtown Phoenix, plan ahead and try this place out. You won't regret it.

We decided to eat here after an event downtown -- and we are so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious. It was flavorful, fresh, and fabulous. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the portions just weren't quite enough. It was enough to satisfy you but not make you feel full - even after dessert. Speaking of dessert, make sure you try their peanut butter pie. You won't be sorry!!

You definetly want to make a reservation here. A walk up is like a 45 minute wait. I wasn't aware of this fact. The food is absolutely fantastic. Maybe the best salad I've ever had. The food was great as well. Took a little long to get our drinks from the bar, but when it finally showed up it was worth it. Our waitress Ashley was very cool. They give you a voucher for parking so it don't cost you anything. Great place. I'm very pleased with the all around experience.

Delicious food in a fantastic location. Would prefer a few more non-pork options (and service was a little slow, but it was a busy night). Very nice server, nice dinner overall. Also, on a side note, I really enjoyed the text-back service they had for checking into the restaurant. Nice touch while in downtown Phoenix

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. I've had just about everything on their menu and I've never been disappointed. Their pastrami sandwich is my favorite. Their drinks are delicious as well. They staff is always friendly, although service can be a little slow when they are busy.

Great service, but no uniform look for servers or hostesses. I get the casual atmosphere, but it was a bit strange. However, very attentive and knowledgeable. The pretzel and provolone fondue was amazing. Prime rib sandwich and meatloaf were both really good. Fries with the sandwich were a bit soggy, but the sandwich was great. Meatloaf and smashed potatoes were a very good pair.

Wait staff for our large party was great (a dinner for conference attendees). Food was good. It's a busy place & I think the size of our group was too much for them to handle. I've done event/banquet serving and we should have never had to wait as long as we waited for our food (all 3 courses; salad, entreè, dessert). The food was good and I would visit here again but not in a large group.

Our waitress was phenomenal. She was attentive, accommodating, and pleasant. The best part of the meal. The food was pretty good, but $18 for done meatloaf is a little pricey for me. That being said it was tasty.

We enjoyed the meatloaf with the mashed potatoes, the slow cooked prime rib was a bit salty but had a good taste. We went on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was lively and a bit loud. We could barely hear ourselves talk. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends who like great food and great waiter service. Reservation is recommended and they also have a few TVs to watch the game.

Love this place! Incredible Food! The absolute best Prime Rib and the service is absolutely outstanding! Always enjoy coming here. The ambiance is very nice. All of the staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. They take pride in the food they serve and it shows! Never disappoints!

  • 4/5 Shana D. 4 years ago on Google
The food was excellent and the atmosphere matched the expectations based on price, but the service was a little pretentious and extremely slow. They obviously think of themselves as fine dining and make a big show of presenting corks and swirling wine. Aside from that, I was pleased with the food, the appetizers were generous, the drinks weren't skimpy, and nobody rushed us out on a Saturday night. Table of 6 with drinks and appetizers plus entrees and tip ran around $315, so not bad. New York strip with the tarragon bearnaise was lovely. Recommended if you have extra time.

The first time I came here when they opened they were incredibly rude. Now they are amazing. The bar is great and food is perfect. Bartenders did a great job and made our night great!

  • 5/5 Augustine W. 4 years ago on Google
The presentation of food is solid, as is the ambiance. It's a classic Fox concept in that way. Prices are high, so when there, we typically split appetizers and desserts. Their nachos get rave reviews. Among the entrees, I've enjoyed their meatloaf - the best part of which is their buttery, rich mashed potatoes. Their desserts are decadent and shareable.

This place was superb with great ambiance and superb seating arrangement that is suitable for all age groups and type of groups like family and friends. At one instance the attendant was unfriendly and also forgot my order but served when explained one more time. Make a reservation and enjoy a great meal with solid service and a fun atmosphere at The Arrogant Butcher. It was packed on a Friday evening, thankfully we reserved in advance. Great burger, soups, and chicken. Solid cocktails and efficient and friendly service. Fun spot in the heart of rapidly expanding downtown phoenix. This busy, open plan and open kitchen restaurant was great for a work dinner. In the booth we could converse well without a major risk of being overheard because of the ambient noise level. Service was prompt and efficient. My jambalaya was more than ok. Colleagues had crispy chicken, meatloaf and steak. All professed satisfaction. And the bill was, all things considered, honestly good value. Yes I would go again

We went here on a Sunday around 6:30. We waited 25 mins which is fine because we didn't have reservation. The food was underwhelming especially for the price. Filet mignon was bland and a bit cold when it was served to us. Likely died on the counter as it waited for my jambalaya. We even added salt and pepper on it but there is no saving that one, sadly. The jambalaya is also disappointing, lacks seasoning/spices and chicken is dry for some reason. Service was okay ish as we really didn't need much follow up.Total was $73 plus tip (also includes a beer and a lemonade). Please improve your seasoning!

I ate dinner here on a really busy night. I got their signature beef short rib stew, which was awesome and came with a really good cornbread muffin. I went by myself and because the wait was so long, I took the only seat at the bar. The number of cooks working was impressive and needed to accommodate the crowds. I was impressed with how much fun they were having and how efficient they were. The menu is not extensive, which allows them to accommodate the large crowds in a timely manner and serve tasty food.

Fair. Portions for Fish & Chips were more like an $8.00 version than $18.00. Three small potions of fish and about 12 french fries. Wife's meat loaf was a decent portion and she said it was good and was worth the $14.00. Not worth a 2nd trip though.

Staff is excellent, so friendly and personable. Bartender picked a great wine, server and team were quick and helpful and really great. We were looking forward to a good steak but it seemed to be not a great cut or something was just off about it. I was expecting the steak to just be better overall, especially at about 40 bucks for a NY strip. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great probably just wouldn't go there for dinner again. But would definitely go for drinks and appetizers or maybe just order a sandwich next time since it isn't really a "steak house" like we were expecting it to be, by the name at least. Cool atmosphere and even has a nice patio. Really liked the bar area. The crispy shrimp was good and not too heavily breaded either. The brussel sprouts were delicious.

First time. Husband and I were really excited to try but were very disappointed and unimpressed. Staff was very rude, the front desk male seemed very bothered and annoyed. I was seated with Zues outdoors . I ordered the Goddess salad , artichoke dip and I ordered a salmon for Zues. The Goddess salad was very fresh, green , crispy , earthy had a spicy kick with every bite! The Artichoke dip was very very good !! 🤤🤤🤤. Highly recommend. If you want details to ingredients, please check out there menu. Customer service was awesome! My waiter checked on us often . I asked for a heater , and they provided Zues with water. I told my waiter to surprise me with a salad off the menu and he recommended the Goddess salad. Normally I take pictures of the architecture inside, and decore of every place of business I pay a visit to but i didn't go inside because I had Zues with me. I WILL BE COMING BACK REAL SOON ! because of their excellent food and service I gave The Arrogant Butcher 5 stars. If you haven't been here before please check them out , located in the heart of downtown Phoenix!. Let's support our community businesses, restaurants during this troubled time ! Keep up the great work !! And God Bless

First off, this is not my typical style of restaurant, but my wife wanted to try it. I went along and ordered the butchers board special, or something that sounds similar. IT WAS AMAZING!! It had some bread a few cheeses and meats with jellies, olives, nuts, fried macaroons, bacon wrapped something! (I don't even remember what was inside the bacon, but it was so good.) I would come back, just for that. My wife got a salad, which was also good, but salads aren't my thing. Will definitely be coming back! Amazing!

Great food and great service. The charcuterie was a bit salty for my taste. The truffle cheese was so fragrant. The devil eggs were ok. Meatloaf was really good. Yum

Lovely atmosphere with even better food. My wife and I both had the prime rib with smashed potatoes and both were perfectly cooked. Would recommend and will definitely come again.

The Arrogant Butcher is a nice clean restaurant, with a friendly staff and delicious food! That’s a great combination! The first time we tried to eat there we were attending an event at The Footprint Center and we found out the hard way it’s better to get a reservation. It can get extremely busy there and the wait can be hours, which is too long when you have other places to be. So the second time we made a reservation and I’m so glad we did, it was extremely busy again. When we got there it didn’t take very long for them to take us to our table and our waiter was very nice and professional. Our meals were so good, I got the Atlantic Salmon and it was very delicious! My husband really enjoyed his meal as well, I can’t remember what he got but I remember him saying how good it was. We hardly ever get dessert but we decided to share a piece of the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Pie, it was so delectable we enjoyed it very much. We will definitely return to eat here so I do recommend for anyone looking to at least try it out for yourselves.

In Phoenix on a business trip, decided to try this place out. We are so glad we did. Had a wonderful dinner here! Great service & atmosphere. We started out with the spinach artichoke dip, it was delicious. My husband got the prime rib. The slice on it was cut a little thin for his liking, but he said it was cooked perfectly & tasted great. I had a filet. Perfectly cooked, and tasted fantastic! He had an old fashion & I had a Paloma. Both were made very well. Our servers were super attentive & made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend going here!

This place is a great choice for a bite. Went here for lunch and enjoyed everything ! For a starter I chose the meat and cheese and had my own selection. For the main I had the rib-eye, cooked medium. It was delicious, flavorful and cooked just right. The drinks were also great. The atmosphere is welcoming, not too loud music and good lighting.

I had the half chicken and a Pilsner. The food is really good, especially the chicken. The bar is nice to sit at but there is also a number of tables to select from if you have a group to seat. There are a number of items on the menu, so it is easy to appease anyone regardless of what they may normally eat when they go out. I definitely recommend this place if you come to this part of Phoenix, AZ.

Came in on a Monday afternoon. First time trying out this restaurant. It's located across frys marketplace downtown. Didn't have to wait long to get seated when you book a reservation. Didn't get the prime rib but got the steak instead. The steak was cooked perfectly for a medium and it was tasty especially with the sauce that comes with it. The baked potato was also good for an appetizer which goes well with the steak. I might come back to try the prime rib.

I was in town for a conference and found this place while searching Google Maps for a restaurant. As soon as I saw the name, I knew I had to try it. They did not disappoint. A+ across the board! If you park in the Cityscape parking garage, they will give you a sticker to attach to your ticket that will vaidate your parking for two hours! If you find yourself in Phoenix, you should give them a try.

I went on a Saturday with my two boys, and we arrived around 12:00 pm. There was no waiting to be seated. The hostess and waitress were very friendly. The food came quickly, but for some reason, this time was different from the other two times I've been there. It seemed like the plates were not prepared as carefully, though it might have just been my impression.
