Most Unfortunately, this entire mall is closed, forever NO moreπŸ˜ͺ😒 Extremely, unfortunate that this magnificent mall has almost no customers. And it's unbelievable, that most all malls across America are closing, due to the online age. Malls have always been an extraordinary American legacy, although most likely the Italians developed them first in ancient times with places "like" the famous Galleries. However, Americans have innovated these places, into almost becoming an historical cultural phenomenon. Specifically, in my generation, we all grew up with them as the ultimate meeting/socializing/shopping experience. I would highly recommend, at the very least a visit. Most especially, the food court, where the Chinese Shop "Jade", serves up an incredible feast at a very reasonable price. Enjoy. πŸ€™πŸ˜Ž

June 30, 2020. Sorry to say this was the last night for Metrocenter Mall. It is now closed for good. I got to make the last purchase at the Custom License Plate Store, as the rest of the mall was already closed down. The mall is for sale and we're hoping it can be brought back to life.

Metrocenter does NOT maintain their trees! They are full of loose, broken large branches. A 12 foot limb fell on top of my mint car on a calm sunny day in 2018. Property Manager Joe B. did not even report the claim to Liberty Mutual for a month! Took almost 2 years for Metro to finally pay for their gross negligence. Did Metrocenter go around their property and clean up the trees after my car was smashed? NO! SAME broken branches high up in the trees as of June 23 2020. No regard for public safety. The mall is owned by the Carlyle Development Group based in New York City. (FYI Dillards and Sears pay a monthly fee to Metrocenter for outside maintenance) SHAME METROCENTER and Carlyle Development Group!

This is the the mall they used to stand in for San Dimas Mall in the 80s classic Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Many great memories here growing up & I even used to work at the Sears here, back in the 90s. Very sad to see such an important piece of film history go.

It's kinda sad. Metrocenter used to be the coolest mall in Phoenix back in the 90s. Now, I'm not sure why they're still open. It's pathetic. Most of the stores are closed, there are hardly any shoppers, the escalators are all broken... I don't know why they keep this place open. I doubt I'll ever come back here. It's just depressing.

Sadly, Metro center is closing July 1 2020. Today, hundreds of people came out to cruise the circle one last time. It was great to feel the sense of freedom and adventure we had as teenagers while cruising. Goodbye metro center.?

Great place to shop! Featuring empty lots, more empty lots, and more empty lots. All sarcasm aside, there is still a hot topic in here along with a Spencer's that was survived. Others include industrial ridership, vans, and Aeropostale. Looking forward to Walmart lighting this place up again.

This mall is not entirely dead. The stores that are still open are not chains, just mom and pop shops that got breaks on the rent. This mall use to be the center of commerce of Phoenix. They have done many renovations here. Including getting rid of the skating ring and arcade. Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure was filmed here. I don’t think this mall will continue on as it is now. Hopefully someone can find a use for it and still maintain its architectural glory.

It was closing at 6pm during the week. That's early and it's the summer. What's good about it is, it has an anime store and the other 2 malls we'd been to, did not.

Metro center is not what it used to be. Most of the mall is shut down and that was well before covid-19. In fact it's the only mall that's major store is a storage facility. Lol, it seems like they have plenty of space. There is a Walmart there but this location seems to also come with that Walmart quality that we are all to familiar with. For both the employees and the merchandise. There's not really anything of interest here that you can't get of a better quality some place else. I recommend skipping the mall and going around back to take a look at the shopping centers. There are a lot of stores that are around the mall but not inside it that are worth stopping at.

Even though Metrocenter closed down last week, this mall holds a lot of nostalgia for me! My mom used to take me here a lot during my childhood. I remember going to the Harkins there quite a few times, and I also had my first date with my first serious boyfriend (in high school) in the food court and we got Subway for dinner. The last time I was here, I came with my mom 9 days before they closed and got some really good deals on shirts from Hot Topic! I will miss going to this mall and hope one day it gets renovated into something cool!

It's sad to see this mall empty, there's hardly any shops open all thanks to Waltmart. We usually go to hot topic and Charleys Philly steaks.

When this location (Metro Center Mall) opened about a year ago, it was reported that it was going to be the largest Walmart in Az & it would employ more full and part time employees than any other Walmart in Az. Idk if that's true or not, but it is a big store. One of my problems with this location is that the shelves are never stocked. They never have been. When it first opened I was told the reason was because it was a new store, so they didn't have a lot of stuff left over from previous seasons. Didn't really make sense, but okay. Well it's been open for a year now, and the shelves still aren't stocked. Also, when the store first opened it seemed like a majority of the employees cared. They actually tried to help a customer, but not anymore. IF you can find an employee to ask for help they either send you on a wild-goose chase, they don't speak English, or they say they're new and they don't know. I don't care if they are new, that wasn't my question. At this Walmart, like most Walmarts, the employees do not seem motivated to provide good or courteous customer service, and that matters to me.

Bad day for WM made a super bad day for my 1st and only grocery order online. After email from walmart said order was ready waited in car for 2 hours in parking lot after store closed. No one would answer phone. Customer Service left me on hold 30 min. Hung up, stood at door and after 45 min found the order was NOT ready. Next morning, on hold for mgr for v 40 min to cancel order. Management (corporate) failure all around. No wonder the employees up and quit. Never using that option ever with Walmart. Sams Club yes, Walmart never again.

Walmart always has the things that I'm looking for. even if they're a little more in the expensive side it's more of a convenience than anything. There are times when I will go to other stores for better prices for the same thing. But overall they do really well

  • 1/5 Jenny K. 3 years ago on Google
I was visiting Phoenix last year on Thanksgiving. My cell phone and internet had erroneously listed Metro Center as open. It wasn't so bad that I found my way to the shopping center by bus and found the stores closed, but when I tried to go see a movie there, I was told by the manager that that particular movie was only for a private audience. I was pretty disappointed.

Once an anchor for North Phoenix shopping, it has been in steady decline for the last 20 years. One in every ten stores is open and the food court is all but shut down. All the major dept stores are gone, the jewelery stores are all gone. Just the occasional mom and pop business.
