Cool, unique little sandwich shop serving up some seriously tasty deli sandwiches. We loved the Fiery Italian (a little kick, not too spicy) and The Duckling. They had a cute patio area for outdoor seating and a secret-library vibe seating area on the second floor. Would be a great place to meet up with friends for a chill afternoon. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in the area!

Great rustic location for the whole family. Bring your laptop, bring your co-workers or family. Fresh deli style sandwiches (hot or cold) soups and sides. Shopping, coffee/ tea and more. Indoor/outdoor seating and a loft. Don't forget to check out the bar and wine selections. Very comfortable environment. Friendly staff. 🙂

Such a cool spot. Neat little cabin-like building with lots of seating/tables on 2 levels. I love sitting upstairswatching above customers. Great place to study or meet friends. Fun little coffee or tea related gifts and lots of loose leaf tea to purchase.

Great experience! Tons to look at and experience. Beautiful place. The menu is awesome. The food was good. My hot sandwich wasn't even warm. The grated Swiss was even trying to melt. But the meat was good and bread was good! Got some small cheeses samples for cheap! Can't wait to try them. I'll Be back... I'll just make sure I specify I want my Hot sandwich.. You know.. Hot.. And meltyyyy

What an awesome little place with a long history! My buddies at work told me about this place and we finally got the chance to come by for lunch. This place is amazing! They have excellent quality sandwiches and a mini store inside along with a bar. The service was great and we got our sandwiches ordered quick and had just enough time to browse around the shop. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food! They also have other menu items and a good selection of drinks/chips! Cheers!

I have been coming to this place for a very long time. They have a great selection of sandwiches and I have my favorites. I love the variety of teas they make daily, also a great selection of cheese and wine's. They also have beers. This place is always changing up the products they offer for sale in the little market. The weather is so nice right now to picnic on the patio with friends and family, they also have indoor seating upstairs.

Super friendly, family-owned business with delicious food and drink! They carry lots of locally made products, gifts, and treats - so a great place to stop by and support even more local businesses. Relaxed vibe makes for a great gathering spot - especially upstairs, where there’s ample seating. The Duckling and Smokey were delicious, as were the fresh brewed iced tea and crunchy pickles! Five stars - definitely worth coming in and frequenting!

This is a quaint and casual sandwich shop with local goods store and cafe in one. I was craving a sandwich and found this on Yelp. I ordered The Duckling, Full, and The Hot One, Full. From order to takeout, it took about 20 minutes. The Duckling - I enjoyed this fall flavored combo. It was a cold sandwich and wasn’t too filling but it hit the spot. The Hot One - I enjoyed this one because it was simple and tasted really good. The beef was tender but slightly dry. The horseradish was potent enough to clear all sinuses! It wasn’t that big for the price so that was mildly disappointing. Their pickles were so good! You get 2 per bag and honestly the star of this show. There was a ton of seating and the place was home to many local and unique goods.

This place must be run by people with dyslexia. I ordered a salad and got a sandwich instead. I can't believe I was stupid enough to tip them. This place has convinced me that tipping on online orders is actually a bad idea.

One of my absolutely favorite sandwich places. Always get the same thing - Turkey on pita with Mayo, lettuce, tomato, longhorn cheese, cucumber & avocado. The pita is always soft and fresh and they just make this sandwich delicious. Fun to wander while waiting for your sandwich and see the fun things they sell. They also have great ice tea selections - usually around 4 different kinds I believe. They close earlier in the day so you need to plan accordingly. We drive 1/2 hour to get here so can usually only make it on the weekends but worth the wait!

An old standard, I've gone to this location for decades. Sadly in the past year or two, the quality has degraded. A few weeks ago, I ordered breakfast and lunch, and there were two very thin slices of ham on the sandwich I ordered to eat after a hike. During each visit in the same timeframe, the crust on the sourdough bread slices are so dry they have to be removed. Maybe D&D leaves the slices out or maybe their supplier is providing stale or older bread. The quality is very hit or miss now, which is sad to see. Hopefully the managers will make some changes to get back to the glory days.

A lovely old spot! We had a mini albacore tuna + sprouts, mini fiery Italian, and full D.A.M. sandwich. All were delicious, with the D.A.M. (hot) being our favorite - the pulled pork is a bit sweet and melts in your mouth, the jalapeño and coleslaw add great complimentary flavors, and the onion roll adds its own kick to the experience. The fiery Italian was also great and definitely has some spice to it. A great lunch spot for dine-in or takeout!

If you're looking for a sandwich with delectable, fresh ingredients, stop by Duck and Decanter. Their turkey sandwich is the best I've ever eaten! The turkey is absolutely delicious, and the wide assortment of bread tastes like it just came out of the oven. If you're not a big eater or on a budget, you can order a half sandwich for around $5. And it comes with a dill pickle! With their delicious, high quality food, I can see why Duck and Decanter has been a staple in the Valley for decades.

Amazing first experience. My wife came here allot growing up but my daughter and I have never been. Wife had a Turkey cheese bacon lettuce Sammy, kiddo has an egg cheese Sammy and I had a scrambled cheese bagel with mayo. (I asked for over easy like they do in NY delis but got scrambled instead, that’s okay some don’t know what that looks like) My kid scared her down, my birds off a wife chowed on hers and it took a little bit to eat all of mine bc it was so filling and also well worth it. The atmosphere was family friendly and the seating options were awesome too!! There’s other things on the floor you can buy too

The duck always has a good selection of very unique and delicious sandwiches made fresh as you order on homemade bread! They're quick, they're organized, you can eat in which is actually out on a very casual patio or take it to go? They are busy but very organized so you rarely ever have to wait very long! The Duck also has a small boutique of unique kitchen and cooking goodies! It's a great place to find gifts! My favorite sandwich is the "Genoa" I've had it too many times to count, it's as good the first time as it is the last! This is the perfect time of year to try the "Duck" because the weather has been beautiful and seating is outdoors!

While I’ve noticed their sign over the 51 countless times over the years, I finally stopped by for the first time. It’s a quaint little Phoenix small business. The sandwiches are creative, quality, and made with love. The place is neat and old-fashioned with a welcoming vibe. I recommend the smoked duck, it’s worth the upcharge. Only things I think they can improve on are speed and prices.

Let me start by saying I love love the tuna and roast beef sandwiches here with the fresh sourdough bread. Except today my roast beef had some sort of black bead in it and it crunched under my premolar. Ow. It’s probably just one a one off but for $12 sandwich alone I would expect better.

Never been there before and WOW!!! Sandwiches are the best and the service was the best and very friendly. It felt like you are family when you walk in the door. Price is high but food and service is the best in Phoenix. I will be going back every time I'm in that area of the city.

What a wonderful place! I’ve driven by and seen the sign my entire life, but today was in the area with nowhere to be. We stopped in for breakfast and were greeted by Karen, the daughter of the original owners. It was immediately clear to me that this family had poured immense amounts of love into this place, I could feel it as I walked around and looked at the memorabilia. I couldn’t help but feel I was having a rare experience, and the thought that it might be gone someday was sobering. I would definitely recommend stopping in when you have a few extra minutes to read through some of the history. Also, the bacon and egg and imported ham and egg breakfast sandwiches on croissants were excellent. We had a mocha and macchiato, which were both tasty and well made. They sell delicious single serving hot sauces at the register, and there was a tiny Italian sweet in each of our bags. The little touches really make it so special.

Best sandwiches in Phoenix, bar none! Such a cool place too. Can relax upstairs and eat and chill or even outdoors in the new patio area. Wish I got here more often.

Before I even try the food, I’m sorry to say that I’ve been disappointed by the service. It’s partially my fault. I got a mini reuben & soup, then impulsively decided to add chips. By the time the order was ready, I’d decided against chips and on a volcano brownie I’d spotted in the refrigerator to the left. This was my first time in the deli. It was super kitschy, utterly delightful, and if the employee hadn’t at the last minute cancelled the transaction to re-ring the sandwich up as a FULL SIZE instead of a mini, I’m sure I’d be singing nothing but praises under a five-star review right now, I’m a big fan of supporting small businesses. I haven’t even had my first bites of the meal yet before commenting, that’s how upset I am by this experience. I really wanted to like this place because of the reviews & the vibe. Why was I overcharged at the last second? Because I ultimately received the mini sandwich ): P.S.: The food’s as tasty as everyone’s promised! I just wish this hadn’t happened & hope it can be rectified by the next time I go back :] P.P.S.: They never rectified it before I moved out of PHX. Make of that what you will.

I can't believe I haven't made my way here until now. Now I need to try one of everything on the menu! The sandwich options are fantastic and the food was delicious and fairly priced. There are lots of indoor/outdoor seating arrangements. See ya next week!

An amazing sandwich shop. My Lebron Baloney with spicy mustard was delicious. They even give you a hard candy in your togo bag. The photo on the upper level and I found it interesting.

Good sandwich- I can’t say it was anything special. It was $16 for a sandwich, chips and a drink which may be average but seemed like a lot.

This is for real the best sandwich place I have ever had. I got the fiery sandwich which was good. It was not too spicy. Very flavorful. I love how many options there are on the menu.
