All about that Lomo Saltado with a side of the crema de rocoto sauce (have to request this). Unbelievable. With the special flavor on the roasted tomato and onions, an unavoidable mouthgasm. On my second visit, I ordered the ceviche. The "stomach test" for me, tells me pretty much right away, the freshness and quality of raw foods. This ceviche (I ordered Mixto) passes with flying colors.

Food was decent. They served a good portion but not a lot of chicken in the Pollo Saltado. The price is up there ($16-18/plate). If it was cheaper, I would go back but they are a bit expensive for what they serve and the ambiance. I've paid more in Miami and I'm OK paying $30/plate (La Mar) if the ambiance and food justify it...but not this place. I wouldn't recommend unless you are extremely craving Peruvian food

We ate at 2 Peruvian restaurants while in Phoenix. El Chullo was the more authentic of the two. It may be the best Peruvian food we have had outside our own kitchen. Tamales were wrapped in banana leaves in true Peruvian fashion. The Huancaina sauce was spot-on. Good service. Good food. If you go, check out the Peruvian market next door where they sell authentic Peruvian ingredients. I will be back!

Hunger crept up on us after visiting two museums today. After we finished the Heard Museum I searched for nearby restaurants and immediately spotted this genuine Peruvian cuisine. The artwork on the walls was also very interesting. Our entrées were great, and they used some very interesting spices that made our food taste very exotic. Of course we finished our dinner with desert. I don’t know their exact names, but my wife had a flan and I chose ice cream made with a Peruvian fruit. This place was a fantastic change after having nothing but Mexican cuisine (which we really love). Stop by and tell them that Bob & Natalie sent you. Enjoy!

It was our first time trying Peruvian food, the waitress was so patient explaining the different dishes to us. I loved the chicha drink! The portions are very generous, we took our leftovers and ate a whole other meal later at home.

I’ve never had Peruvian food before dining at El Chullo. The experience was amazing. The food here is amazing! Potatoes, seasoned rice, seafood, beef, and a wide array of appetizers are on the menu. Bring your appetite because the portions are as kind as the staff.

I was visiting my best friend from Las Vegas, we wanted some pisco sour to celebrate, we've found a hidden gem. The food is delicious, well prepared, beautiful presentation, superb taste. World class customer service, thank José Daniel and Candy. I recommend it 100% 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌😘👌👌

Small peruvian restaurant. Service was excellent. I like that they had vegetarian options. The veggie causa could use more aji sauce and the Quinoa seemed more of a rissotto than a "aji de gallina". The Crema Volteada was very dense but delicious. I would go back again if I am in town.

Absolutely delicious authentic meal! Everything we tried was exceptional. This includes fish soup, fish ceviche, beef hearts, beef stir fry, and tostones. The restaurant is small, clean, offers friendly and quick service.

Watched the Cops America Finals at this fabulous Peruvian restaurant. My Peruvian family will attest this is authentic cuisine. Generous portions, great drinks and the most amazing Pisco Sour. All of the dishes were excellent and we felt at home, sharing everything family style.

If anyone of you want true Peruvian this is where you need to go. They put so much quality and care in their food. It is amazing! You can taste in every bite how much flavor there is and see it in their presentation. My fiancé and I shared a lot of the plates together and the lomo can definitely feed at least two people. They give you a lot in one plate and that’s great. I’ve had many Peruvian dishes and this restaurant really did not disappoint. The drinks were also great as well. 10/10 recommend!

Excellent little gem for authentic Peruvian food and drink. We sat at the bar, but there were tables with families, and couples. It's a small place but wasn't busy on an early Sunday evening. The drinks were unique and delicious. I loved the mint chilcanos The food was incredible. We had ceviche and the shrimp appetizer I can't recall the name of, but I included a photo of it. :) Don't forget the homemade ice cream! Nice date spot.

The place is small, but it makes sure that customers have more interaction with the waitresses. The food is fresh, good-sized portions, plated beautifully, and flavorful!! I will be back to try different foods. I tried the roasted corn kernels (not sure of the correct name), but it was like eating popcorn. We also also had potatoes that were covered in like a yellow cream sauce, and that was pretty good as well. The spaghetti noodles with the chicken & beef LORD HAVE MERCY, that was sooooo good. I don't know what the sauce was over the noodles, beef, chicken & and veggies, but it was good!! I always suggest trying new food & this place is worth a try. I don't remember the name of the food, but pictures are worth a thousand words.

It is way overpriced for what they are offering.. I would be embarrassed to serve the bread they are serving and charge 25 dollars for a bowl of soup that has less than 10 small size shrimps .. I tried the soup and the heart as an appetizer.. I wasn’t impressed.. it was bad and I won’t come back to pay such prices at a place like that ..

Hey - another little gem here! If you want to sample Peru this is your place, deliciousness awaits. Drink was Chicha Morada, Appetizer was Chicharron de Calamar followed by Ceviche and to top it all off scrumptious Picarones - Parking around. Pleasant staff - limited seating but it’s worth the wait.

A+ place. Food is out of this world. The service can be a bit slow, but it won't impact your experience much. Take a trip to Peru 🇵🇪 in downtown Phoenix and visit. You won't be disappointed.

The food was DELICIOUS 😋. The portion size was great for the price. Best Food I have ever had. For dessert had the Peruvian ice cream. Must stop if you like Peruvian food.

We really enjoyed out dinner here. First time here and first time having Peruvian. We really enjoyed our meals, the flavors were great. The fried yucca appetizer was out of this world. We will definitely return!

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this Peruvian restaurant! The fish soup (chupe) was a delightful burst of flavors, and the spaghetti with cream sauce and seafood was a culinary masterpiece. The only minor critique was the chocolate decor on the alfajor, which slightly altered the taste, but it was still quite enjoyable. The frozen lemonade was refreshingly authentic, prepared the Peruvian way, and the mango juice was just the right level of sweetness for my palate. Overall, a 5-star dining adventure!

Visiting Phoenix for the first time. We found this place online and so glad we did! We wanted to order everything on the menu! Delicious food and very friendly staff! Loved the aguadito, lomo, lúcuma ice cream!

I love visiting a place where the menu offers foods I haven't had before. This place hit home for that. This was my first time trying Peruvian cuisine and the taste and quality here was amazing. I'm so happy I got introduced here. I got the Causa de Cameron (too good!) and the Pescado a lo macho (very flavorful!). Didn't skip the desert or beverage! I now look forward to try Peruvian food whenever I can.

OMG! Peruvian food...What a fantastic place. Located in a small strip of stores, this family-owned gem of a spot is as authentic as you can get. Very casual, the menu has a lot to offer. We had the cerviche pescado with a delicious Leche de Tigre sauce (lime sauce). Tons of fish, onions, potatoes and taste! Line ip of people atc7:00 on a Sunday night. Priced right - don't miss it.

After having driven passed this place so many times the past two years I finally popped in the other night and Oh My Gosh I’m mad I didn’t stop by sooner. This place is absolutely amazing. Everything I had was incredible. I started with the papa rellena which was perfectly fried and seasoned. For the main I had the shrimp ceviche. The shrimp was very fresh; it was just the right amount of spice and sour. To top it off the marcuya (passionfruit) piso they had might be my new favorite cocktail. I highly recommend this authentic, and incredibly delicious restaurant.

This place has been on my radar for a couple years, finally tried it today. I went with the signature dish, the ceviche mixto. Wash it down with a 7 Vidas cerveza. ¡Delicioso! Anxious to go back again and try some other things. Very friendly staff, food was up quick.

This place was delicious! Went to Miami sometime ago & had Peruvian food there for the first time which was recommended to me by a friend who’s from Peru. I’d been trying to find a good spot & Phoenix & El Chullo didn’t disappoint. We were seated fast & the server brought Choclo as soon as we sat. The food was amazing, service was great & fast. The place is small, like a local business but everything was delicious. We had the Anticuchos (beef heart), Fried Yuca, Leche de Tigre, Mixed Cevicho & Nieve de Lucuma. Highly recommended!

Food and service were amazing, just a little pricier than I would have expected, although will definitely stop by again next time I visit Phoenix.

A small hidden place with great flavorful peruvian food, presentation was the best. The service was ok and polite, I think if we would sat at the bar, we would have had a friendier service The atmosphere was ok. Yes, I will be coming back for that authentic taste of Peru.

Probably the most authentic ceviche I had in the United States. Very honest food rooted in what Peruvian cuisine is on its day by day, nothing made for just the hype or “fusion” which sometimes is all you need. The Pisco was also very tasty and the papas were to die for. Overall I was pretty impressed and happy with the flavors. Will definitely be back and bring guests over.

Fresh made-to-order food. El Chullo was recommended to me by a Peruvian. I have never had Peruvian food before. I now want to move to Peru! 🇵🇪 We had a party of five and ordered a ton of food and everything was amazing! I had Papa rellena (split), anticuchos (split) and arroz chaufa seafood. Desert was great. Get the ice cream!

This place is great for the most part. I have tried their food many times over the years. Food has always been consistent except for seafood paella ( ARROZ CON MARISCOS) 🥘 over the past year tasted different and found out they changed seafood supplier. I haven’t tried again in a few months.. otherwise all other dishes are always consistent and tasty. I mostly order takeouts as dine in can take a long time with wait as their seating is quite limited :) ceviche de pescado is so yummy.. it’s citrusy and fresh. For appetizer, recommend ANTICUCHOS (grilled heart). ARROZ CON POLLO is my go to which is amazing. I prefer mine with dark meat! The flavor is great and meat is suuuuper tender

This place is absolutely delicious! The yucca fries is perfect, soft inside and dry and crisp outside. The sautéed sea food, from haven… five stars food, service and place…not fancy, not stylish, real delicious food

A casual Peruvian food restaurant that does not compromise on the important things. Great food and great service! As far as I could tell, everything that comes out of the kitchen is amazing. I had a seafood stew and couldn’t get enough of it! There were many other items I wanted to try, and I have every intention of coming back.
