We asked for the cheapest crab meal, the waitress mixed up the menu items and seemed to be confused about weight. But we went ahead with her suggestion and ended up being charged about double what we were expecting to pay based off the menu price. The waitress and manager blamed us for not being specific enough with our order and for eating the food anyway despite it being wrong. We don't work there and we didn't know that when we ask for the cheapest option, we wouldn't be given the cheapest option and we also didn't know that when the waitress said it would weigh a little under a pound, she meant a little under two pounds. I don't think customers should be expected to know the menu better than the staff knows it. They gave us only a few dollars off our meal and we still had to pay for about double what we thought we were asking for. We were treated poorly and humiliated in front of others. I have never had a restaurant mix up my order, blame me, and still hand me the bill. This review does not violate Google's policy in any way. I expect this review to be posted and remain up. I have attached a photo of my receipt as proof of my order on 9/3/2021.

Before my experience this evening, I was a fan of Angry Crab. I’ve been to this location several times, and though every visit wasn’t 100% perfect, overall I was pleased enough to be a repeat customer. Tonight, I arrived at about 5:10pm with a friend and we were seated about 5:25pm. We were told that due to the state curfew in place, they would be closing at 7 (also noted on this FB page). Unfortunate circumstances, but understandable. We placed our food order just after 5:30pm. Our dinner food arrived at 6:13pm, which was a bit slow from the kitchen, but not a major concern at this point. The manager, Amber, came to our table at 6:28pm to announce that they would be closing at 6:30pm, and therefore we had 2 minutes to pack up our food and leave. I’m probably the most reasonable level-headed person around, but I found it to be completely shocking that my food had just been given to me 15 minutes prior, and now there’s a manager asking me to pack up and get out. When I brought this timeline to Amber’s attention, her reply was “well, there’s other tables who got their food around the same time, and they’re fine with it and being understanding sooooo.” If you’ve been to Angry Crab, you’re aware that these aren’t the kind of meals you can quickly polish off in 15 minutes. Our server was great, though he admitted that the kitchen got busy with to-go orders, which I guess explains why there was a delay. Having working in the service industry, I’m just really taken aback by the manager’s incredibly unapologetic approach to all of this. My concerns were not met with any sort of service-focused response, just “take your stuff and go, how many containers will you need?” I understand there’s a lot going on in the world in terms of current events, but that doesn’t excuse the behavior my friend and I encountered tonight.

We decided to kick off 2022 with a visit to the Angry Crab Shack home of pick your own spice seafood boils, po'boy sandwiches, lobster rolls, and, of course, crab legs! They have a fun graffiti type of decor with a centralized bar serving craft beers and cocktails. They also have a kid friendly menu, but overall, seafood is pretty expensive. So you order your steamed bags spiced the way you like and dump it on the table, which can get a little messy, thank goodness for the bibs, and gloves! It's a fun place, and the seafood is great. What more could you want besides more paper towels and another beer!

I don’t know where to begin with my experience (1st timer) it was deliciously good. The Bartender/Server Katie M was awesome. I told her this was my first time & she help me with a menu selection. Then there’s Will the Maintenance/ Good conversation guy who also made my experience great. I’ll definitely be back. 5 ⭐️

The smells from outside bring you in and the atmosphere brought me to the coast with the essence of the sea. The service was a little slow this day but it was also busy. The food came out great and the shrimp was not over cooked. All prices are market price and are not listed so be sure to ask what the prices are. Lots of other selections on the menu to try in the future. Definitely a filling and heavy meal.

In the mood for seafood so tried close to home Angry Crab. Fun interior where everyone can mark on the walls, family-friendly, reasonably priced & varied menu. Cute descriptions for seafood sauces, etc. (judge for yourself on pic) from "ridiculously hot" to "Me no likey-spicey". Crowded, so we advise you go early. Loud atmosphere but friendly ambiance. Slow service so plan to allow for time to visit when you go. Seafood choices were okay, not spectacular, but as it was modestly priced & casual, no issue for us. Probably won't return anytime soon.

Consistently delicious, unique offerings, incomparable with the imitators that have popped up. This place has never disappointed and their staff are always awesome. I highly recommend the oyster shooters, calamari and clams, and definitely go Trifecta sauce on the seafood boil. Can’t go wrong with it

I usually love coming here, but my order yesterday seemed like half of my crab legs were old and tough, and the other half was fresh... my stomach has felt funky ever since eating it... maybe it’s best to wait for Sea food till after covid19 is over.

I was excited to try this restaurant because many of the reviews were positive. But I believe the positive reviews are only for the fresh fish. My husband and I chose to have the crab cake sandwich, fish-and-chips and the sampler as the appetizer. It seems to me that the restaurant is using old or very dirty oil as all of the fried items all had the same color, the same taste and was served to us burned. I would never serve food like this to anyone, anywhere, ever! The fries that were served were supposed to be Cajun fries, and they tasted just like dirty oil with salt on it. Nothing cajun about it. The Cole slaw seemed to come from right out of a salad bag with no taste, no flavoring whatsoever. The crab cake was so dark bordering on black and my husband said he didn't taste any crab at all. It's possible there was crab in that crab cake but because it was likely cooked in the same oil as all the other food, it was burned, had no flavor, and the crab was indistinguishable within the sandwich. We came in after the lunch hour and before the dinner hour. There were 3 other customers in the restaurant while we were there. There was no reason, absolutely none whatsoever, why we should have been served food that looked and tasted like this. The server Liz was very attentive, got our items to us, and checked in on us, but she did forget to give us water. The one star was for the good music, but we would not visit again. We spent over $50 for the meal, not including tip. Now we know why it's called the Angry Crab- you most certainly do leave angry!

Seafood in the desert from a chain restaurant? At first we were skeptical but it was amazing! We got the boil and got soooo much shrimp, lobster, and crab. My kids loved it and the little one even helped crack shells. They give you gloves, bibs, tools - everything you need to feast without getting covered in sauce. Plus at the end they brought out a lobster for us to touch, what a fun extra. Do yourself a favor and come check this place out and ask for Katie!

Loved the food except the coleslaw. Really appreciated the spacing that they used to seat the customers. 6 ft distance still maintained. Price was reasonable, will most definitely come back again with my family. It was good to get out and enjoy family time, thank you angry crab shack! U rock

I placed a to-go order. Even though I was late to pick it up, the food was still hot and fresh! I got the King Crab legs and some corn. The corn was cooked to perfection, crab was amazzzziiing. I was so so happy! This pregnant lady gives it a HUGE thumbs up! The lady who greeted me at the door was sweet, and the girl who took my payment was very quick and friendly. I am a HAPPY CAMPER!

We hadn't been here for awhile and arrived for a late dinner. 8:45pm. The hostess was pleasant and we were seated right away. The server seemed to be having an off night. She seemed annoyed we had questions about the menu. For the food I'm would avoid ordering clams. Mostly we received clam shells, with no clam meat. Naked shrimp with their garlic sauce was great. Dinner was about 45 per person , including 1 beer each. Might try a different location and see if it is any better.

The food here is really good & the staff is amazing! Got 2 pounds of shrimp w corn, potatoes, sausage, & etc w the trifecta seasoning, & it was more than enough. It seemed like a good atmosphere & people/staff were all having a good time. The bartender was very nice & was joking around with us classic! She knew her drinks on the menu & they were pretty good.

While in Phoenix for some odd reason I really thought that I was going to enjoy some fresh seafood right off of the ocean and I certainly had to make myself remember that I was in the desert LOL. My sister recommended the Angry Crab and that was fine with me, we ordered char-broiled oysters, I also had a seafood boil that had boiled eggs, corn, potatoes, snow crabs and green mussels. I have to be honest, I think I would have enjoyed it better without their sauce, it was not the star of the show, the char-broiled oysters were along with the snow crabs that were cooked to perfection. My sister enjoyed a salad and gumbo she loved that it was more brothy instead of filled with seafood (not I said the spy, I want my money's worth). Overall we enjoyed the visit here. We had a very pleasant waitress and I can appreciate that the bathroom was clean. Oh did I say the oysters were the star? Mmm mmm good!

First time in Arizona, and was recommended by a family member to try this place out. It did not disappoint. Flavor is definitely there, spice level as well, although I suggest starting off at medium/hot. We had the baked oyster app, shack mixed bag as well as a couple of beers and special cocktail. Costed around $150. Worth every penny.

This is an updated review. Missing item once again. Used to order from here a lot but haven’t ordering much since they messed up my order so many times in the past. I was craving some clams so I ordered clams, mussels and of course. Most of add on items are missing again. No way to opt for re- delivery of missing item. Reached out to the store and the response and customer service staff didn’t really care for the mistake. Clams are also poor quality, half of the clams were closed shut. They were attached to the shell, very difficult and some were impossible to detach from the shells. Waste of $45 should have known better. Don’t recommend this place at all.

I ordered 1lb snow crab and added 1/2 of shrimp with my order. My friend ordered 1lb of crawfish with 1lb of clam. The server got our order wrong several of times. She forgot my coleslaw. The shrimp didn’t come and when it did, it was the wrong sauce. The server gave us two potatoes, which we didn’t ordered. However, we were charged for it. The snow crab and the shrimp were good. The crawfish didn’t really have flavors. The clams were not good either. It tastes like they didn’t prep it well. Overall, food was decent. Service was horrible!

Still waiting on our food. It's been almost two hours since we arrived and about an hour since we ordered. Kids orders came out fairly quickly, now they're done and bored, but the seafood is still nowhere to be seen. If understand if they were busy but the place is almost empty. Even if this was an off day totally unacceptable

First time here! Ben was our server, he went above and beyond! 10/10 for him alone! HE MADE THE EXPERIENCE. The food on the other hand was super flavorful, and cooked to perfection! I ALWAYS seem to have issues with seafood boils being over cooked but was not let down in the slightest! Overall would definitely return when in town.

Such a great atmosphere. Plenty of room, music is not too loud, no major echoing, they have lights over the table so you can see good. There is patio dinning if you prefer. The service was excellent. The server knew the menu and had great suggestions. Food was cook perfectly. The seasonings made the difference! Over all a great place to eat!

Visited yesterday with my family (wife, brother in law, sister and their 2 little girls1yr and 6yr) when we walked in the was 2 hostess girls that never said hello or welcome!! They looked kinda mad and confused, they told as we had to wait 1:15min to be seated because they had problems with their system and I asked them if we could wait there inside but they said no, we literally had to wait outside for more then one hour in a 115f° whether. I want to mention that I called 4 hours prior to make a reservation but they told me they don't do reservations, what a joke! We went straight to The Cheesecake Factory at Biltmore plaza and what a huge difference, the hostesses treat you literally like the royal family, they accommodate us inmediatly and the food was amazing!!

We had the seafood boil with 1 lb. of crayfish the trifecta seasoning and the 1/2 lb of naked shrimp 1 lb of seasonal vegetables. The seasoning we chose was the number 2 on the heat scale and it was actually a little spicy for being a mild.

First and last time eating here. ( Indian School location ) We came in for Father's Day since my Brother liked it. All of our food came out separately, my Wife's first, 15 min later mine, 10 min later, and 20 min later for the last. Each time we needed refills, we had to ask. We were swatting flys and gnats the whole time that were flying around. The food was ok, that was the only decent part about the experience.
