Right off, upon entering- I knew I would like this restaurant. I ordered the 3 meatball entree and an orange blossom. The atmosphere was nice and the music playing was like alternative/rock. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and hot. My husband ordered the green chile pork. The meat was moist and soft. He said it was also flavorful.

Tried to leave a $60 on $164 bill, but the server was extremely rude and inconvenienced that we came in at 8 pm, they handed us off to another server which was perfectly fine, then the other server had attitude when we ordered food, was at the bar drinking a beer when we wanted another drink at 10 pm. Says it closes at 11 pm? Never told us it was last call once, the bartender asked them about making us more drinks and she nudged while drinking her own beer at the bar top and said “I already closed them out”. I have almost never been to a bar where I was instantly greeted with that much tension. I am also a server and bartender, as well as two others at our table, it’s rule of hand to say it’s last call especially if you close before the time on your website. Food was honestly good, but I could literally watch the server have a friendlier attitude with other tables, get rid of the attitude.

Great place to go for a fun time. Staff is awesome...they are Uber responsive to TV requests and very attentive. Bartenders are great, as well. Definitely a go-to for a night out, with live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Food is really good too.

First time visit - an early dinner. Lively atmosphere and variety of ‘offerings’ on the TV screens overhead. Two of us ordered hamburgers and they were great. Beer was cold and staff were friendly and attentive. My second beer arrived just as the food showed up, thanks to the attentive waitress taking care of us (this can be a real challenge in poorly managed establishments, based on my experience). Interior has real personality, and the ‘crowd’ seemed like regulars who were really enjoying themselves. “We’ll be back!”

Came in with a group of 8 for lunch this past weekend . Place is pretty small so it gets “busy” quick it seems . I would say the service was okay. A bit slow, nothing above and beyond. The server (blonde girl ) wasn’t very helpful . We asked for a drink menu and she said to look on their menu online which only has wines and champagnes ,when I finally got her attention again and told her that she told me to just look over at the bar and that they have “everything”. I am sitting down at a table there is no reason for me to have to get up to go look at the bar to see what beer options they have. As a server you think she would know what beers they have on tap but apparently not... Mostly everybody enjoyed the food. The Boursin burger was a little bit burnt . I love some good wings, but they were also burnt. Also , I wouldn’t order the pretzel bites again it’s more like thin slices of bread, not actual bites. But the French dip was pretty good, along with the fries .

This place is just the best! They have a tall highchair for my 2 year old so he can sit at the high tops and they always make room for my Dad who is in a wheelchair when we come in. Carter is the best and anything to the contrary is completely wrong. He adjusts the fans, has a mastery of the remote controls, cuts a perfect orange slice and always brings us extra roll ups when our son drops his silverware on the floor. If you don't take life too seriously, like to laugh and have a good time this is the place! 5 stars!

I waited overnight to write this review. I wanted to make sure it was warranted and a response to bad service (not a reaction). My workmate and I used to enjoy coming here for a drink and a snack after work. No more. The day female bartender now working the shift is our "why." We have been disrespected by the female bartender 1 time too many. It happened the only other time she was working and we went. We thought we'd give it a try with her a 2nd time as anyone can have had a bad day. We asked for a menu, received the menu but were never asked if we wanted to order. Sat with our drinks empty while the men in the establishment were overtly flirted with and received exceptional service. We asked for our bill to be resubmitted to us seperated (tax purposes). It was snatched up and resubmitted to us with attitude and a snide remark. Because I am from the midwest, where we live and die by our manners, I am described by people as "very kind." Thus, it wasn't me or anything I'd said or done. Because I helped offset my University cost as a single mother working in a bar, I have experienced that it can be very hard work. As such, I am an over-tipper. So, it couldn't be a nonexistent reputation as a bad tipper. If you are female without a man, or a group of ladies, and walk in and the day female bartender is working... go elsewhere.

The fish fry was delicious. I probably won’t order the pretzel bites again. They are more like chips. They were hard and not that great. It is bar food and the atmosphere was loud.

I don't know why, but I had the best cob salad I have ever had here. I had a party of 12, and the server (Chantal) did an amazing job keeping the drinks going and checking in regularly. Everyone enjoyed their food, and it was a perfect night to sit outside. Definitely a great place to grab a good meal.

It gets bit crowded on the weekend but that’s a good sign. Cool atmosphere, live music. Over 40 age range I think, medium sized, mostly country style music. I recommend

We are Chiefs Fans & wanted somewhere to watch the game with other fans. If that is all your expecting this place is a WIN, but if you want excellent food or drinks I would go elsewhere. I had a TCB, it was OK. We had apps, they were mediocre. Just nothing great.

This is what a tavern should be. Great drink selection, quick and friendly service, and good eats. It feels like I’m stepping into a medieval castle, even. Bunch of barbarians, the whole lot of us, laughing and enjoying the brews at the bar. Really enjoyed my experience here.

The Rooster has a feel of a pub for the locals. A very charming rustic feel. Ideal spot for chatting it up with a small group of friends over a beer. Went there at dinner time and the crowd was older - like me. Very typical pub grub menu. We ordered their wings and the Boursin Burger. The wings were grilled, or at least finished on a grill (they don'tfry them), and the wing pieces were nice and big with a crispy crunch. Very good! The burger was perfectly cooked with a charred finish, but still juicy. The cheese was perfect in that it complemented the beef, not over power it. There was a side of a spicy creamy sauce, which was great. I opted for the onion rings and they too were just perfect. Very good service. Friendly vibe. The only thing I would call out was the price. A bit pricy for pub grub items at a place that's pretty casual.

They NEVER answer their phone which is frustrating as we were trying to pick up a to go order. I don’t understand how a business can run like this when they just missed an our order or 2 Orders or 10 orders simply by picking up the phone!!!!! It’s revenue $$$ Seems like an easy fix. Please have someone answer the phone because we’ve heard nothing but GREAT things about your food and we were trying to order a large pick up order. Thank you.

With all honesty, the food here is the best food I have eaten in Arizona thus far! We got the Reuben, the red chili beef and the fish tacos and they were all amazing! The service and atmosphere is some of the best as well. We will definitely be back! (:

Fun atmosphere! Loved the live music! Was very loud and pretty busy. Our waitress was so sweet, she went above and beyond! The pretzel bites were amazing and the drink were great! However, do NOT get the French dip (probably the worst I’ve ever had!) the waitress saw that I didn’t like it (and I didn’t say anything) and took it off the bill! What a sweetheart! Also more of a middle aged bar. Overall had a good time, great environment, good food!

Good atmosphere. Really good service. Good food. Location on Maps was wrong, but we found it anyway. Great game day hangout. (All-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs on Sunday is a great and tasty deal.)

Rooster is always a great time! There is normally live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The food is top shelf for the price and every time I bring someone in, they have a great time. It’s unpretentious for the Scottsdale area, yet always has a wonderful array of customers.

  • 3/5 John M. 2 years ago on Google
It’s bar food. So don’t go there for the food. But good selection of beer. I recommend the orange blossom, but they have many IPAs. We sat outside and it was nice, service is good and they do have live music.

My roomie saw this place and we decided to check it out. We were able to get a table when we arrived and ordered two appetizers, chicken wings 2 ways and the Poutine (short ribs over French fries for two) with Boursin cheese melted on top. I had the Boursin burger with fries and my guest had the cheesesteak and fries. Our server was stellar, pleasant, capable and kind, she was just great. Our food was served quickly considering how busy the restaurant was. So, the wings are supposed to be baked and then grilled presumably for some crisp. They weren't grilled at all and were soft to bite into. The dry rub and sauced ones tasted good but had no crisp to it at all. I would've guess they were boiled and sauced and sent out...They didn't have any skin on them either. The Poutine was short on the short rib in our order, but what was there was tasty. My burger was very well done (not what I wanted) and the bun wasn't toasted, at all, it was soggy. Bacon was barely cooked, lacked crisp as well. The burger tasted ok but the bun fell apart. My friends cheesesteak was smallish but tasty. His bun was toasted. We each had a beer. We'll probably give it another try to see if they can cook the burger correctly and hopefully the food will have some crisp to it ... The restaurant was very dark inside (I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone to read the menu) and it was quite loud as well. I wanted to love this place and left just liking it. The server was the best part of the experience.

This place is always a blast. Live music and good drinks for a fair price in the middle of Scottsdale is always a win. More of a middle-age crowd, but they get after it. Highly recommend Rooster.

They've live music Saturday night, which was great. Singer did awesome. Food was good. Definitely could have spent less time looking over our shoulders for our server. Swear to gosh, evey time I turned, she was hugging a patron. Sweet potato fries were tasty and hot! Intimate inside, mood lighting definitely, parking is plentiful.

Perfect place to come to watch a game with great food. We had the Rooster chopped salad and seafood ceviche was killer! For dessert we had warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.just delicious. We were many at our table and everyone enjoyed what they ordered a lot from chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, macaroni and cheese, chicken and waffles, to the churros and more for dessert. A good time for sure we will be coming back.

The place was too dark ... hard to see the menu. There wasn't enough lighting, and it felt like a dungeon/cave. The food was really good. The service was great.

Went on a whim while visiting my in-laws and am so glad we stopped in. The wings are a 10/10 and the frozen espresso martini was fantastic. Great atmosphere/service and will definitely be a go to spot every time I am in town.

We arrived in Phoenix late and needed to get some food. They were open so we headed in. Seat your self but with our large party, our waiter did move us to a more comfortable set up. He was patient and friendly and i don’t know if this is a Phoenix thing but he willingly split the check.. 6 ways. I ordered the cauliflower bites, a side of fries, and an angry orchard. I think our waiters name was Joe. He brought as all the sauces we asked for and was attentive even in a dark bar setting on a Thursday night. The food was good enough. Nothing really to complain about. Late night looking for some food, I’d stop in here.

I'm a Chiefs fan so I was so excited to check out a local bar that supported my team. 1. The reataurant/bar is extremely loud. 2. Food is mediocre. Bland, Greasy, and boring. We had fried pickles, a panini, and a protein bowl, and mozzarella sticks. 3. The staff is fairly clueless or just does not care. Asking for something to be left off an entree was super challenging. I asked for salsa and was brought Tabasco. 4. Fun to watch a game with other Chiefs fans, but other than that.....

First time there the chef came and introduced himself, the food was amazing. I had the boursin burger and my wife had the fish sandwich both were very good. We'll definitely be back to try more. I also enjoyed the decor, that was really different from your average bar. It lived up to the self proclaimed luxury dive bar title.

Man. This place fills up fast at 5pm during the week. With a full bar, decent list of beers on draft, and a nice selection of pub food, it’s no wonder. I swear the waiter would have given me the shirt off his back if I asked for it. I got the Boursin Burger and my wife got the grilled chicken salad. The idea of grilled chicken didn’t sound appealing. They switched it out for the fried chicken that goes on the fried chicken sandwich, no problem. We also got the ceviche. I wish it had a bit more heat, but it was good nonetheless. Plenty of tv’s showing games and other related shows. The decor is awesome. We sat next to an old motorcycle. They also have a nice sized patio (which filled up fast as well). Sitting tucked in a popular shopping center with other great destinations makes this a great hangout. I look forward to trying other menu items.

Great, friendly service. Biker/pub motif. Food was really good and cooked perfect. We were contacted by who I assume was the owner to thank us for coming in as we were in a group.
