I came to this place on 8/19/22 was visiting from Florida with my Cuban family. We ordered two strawberry daiquiris and asked for water to purchase. We were told by our waiter that they didn’t have any water for sale. Ten minutes later light skinned foreigners walked in and sat at the table next to us and ordered some drinks and water bottles. The same waiter that told us they didn’t have water for sale, ten minutes prior brings them their drinks and water bottles. I was so saddened to see that I was discriminated against by my own culture because of the way I look. For this reason I will never return to this place. I was a paying customer just like the foreign customers and deserve to be treated with respect. I do not recommend this place at all.

A visit to Havana is not complete without a trip to El Floridita, the notorious bar which created the daiquiri! Ernest Hemingway famously was a regular, and he said “My daiquiri in El Floridita”. Naturally it has become quite a tourist destination and was very busy when I visited, though the service was very good. The daiquiri, not surprisingly, was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic. There was a band playing and a very talented singer. As well as being very good, the cocktails were very inexpensive; around US$3 for most.

Supposed to be Hemingway’s hang out place. Live music, drinks are awesome. Downside: there was no beer, drinks were expensive for Cuba, cocktails around $11 USD, only Havana Club rum.

"Must visit" historical bar known as Ernest Hemingway's favourite. His statue is placed inside standing on the bar. Original daiquiri and live Cuban music makes the place a "must visit".

I was skeptical about coming here because it is promoted as Hemingway's favorite bar. I really thought it is a tourist trap. I was wrong! The place is not called the cradle of Daikiri for nothing. The Daikiris are delicious, the staff are nice, the live music was awesome! Also, the prices were unexpectedly low! We highly recommend it. P.S. There is a statue of Hemingway at the bar you can take photos with!

I am doing 5 star not to be confused with full access to resources. Despite the dinner menu being extensive the selections were very limited due to control and access to restaurant supplies. The food we had to order based on availability was well prepared and delicious. It is very difficult for the local establishments to be empowered to accommodate the public. Yes I will revisit again.

A bar full of character, with the old fashioned cash register still in place and clusters of photos with Hemingway dotted around the walls, including a full sized statue of him. The band were sensational, inspiring couples to get up and salsa. This is why I am giving it a 4 star. Unfortunately the strawberry daiquiri was a tasteless, sugary, slush puppy and the plastic straw cheapened the experience.

HUGE SCAM! I would put 0 for this bar if I could. Mainly because of the approach the staff or management has. They have prices given in Peso but they force you to pay by card in other currencies with a way much worse rate. Simply said - they did not accept the peso which is official country currency. Extremely disappointed and sad that Cuban one of supposedly best bars telling such a wrong story.

Always wanted to try a Daiquiri here, supposedly they invented it and old Mr. Hemingway swore by them. His bronze statue is on a stool tucked up in the corner for u to get a pic. Place is always packed. Good Samba music, this place is for tourists only. Service is miserable. Its the last thing on there mind so don’t be in a hurry. €6 for a cocktail is not bad value but the Floridita , I got was not so good, I have had much better, cheaper nearby. Look I did it, would I go back? No.

I heard this bar made some of the best drinks in Havana so, I had to give it a try. The drinks were amazing and it was easy to order since my Spanish is terrible and the older bartender spoke great English (I think he said he spent some time in the US). There was a live and that sounded great.

Also for the bar part. It is a must-go when one all the way come to Havana. It is famous but I think the atmosphere is not as good as La Bodeguita, the other bar also Hemingway’s favorites. Their most famous cocktail daiquiri have alcohol-free version so even the one not drinking could visit.

Ok coctails (not something special) but at the moment it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE compared to all other places in Cuba! They only allow credit card payment using the exchange rate 1 USD = 24 CUP. You cannot pay cash in CUP. They might let you pay cash in euro or USD, where they give you a bit better exchange rate...

If you are looking for a fancy restaurant bar in Havana, then, this is your place. The environment is really great, with live music and a great cuban decoration. The food is good but overpriced, in our opinion. You can eat in other local restaurants with less. You must know Floridita is a government place, therefore, they accept credit card. However, you pay almost the double of what is in the menu price listed due to conversion rates. We were completely surprised about this. That’s why we only give 3 starts. Even though the place is iconic, we felt a lack of transparency when we asked about credit card and overpriced food.

If you want to drink the best daiquiri in cuba, go to floridita! Lively bar with live music and 3$ drinks. On other hand I wouldn’t recommend dining here, we order the lobster and the seafood rice and just couldn’t eat the hole plate, tasted really bad. Go to this bar but not for eat, just to drink and have fun.

What a place ! In my very humble opinion one of the very best bars in the world. Great drinks ( always daiquiri) , great service and fantastic music We spent our 3 nights in Havana here . Probably overrated, the Daiquiris look super industrial but we can't say they ain't good. You will find better ones for a cheaper price in Old Havana authentic places. Nice to see Hemingway's representation, the place itself is beautiful. But loudy.

No pasarán. On Monday 7/4/23, I went to Floridita, excited to check out the place. When we arrived the bar tables were taken. We asked a gentleman with glasses for guidance and he told us that we could sit in the dining area. There, a completely unprepared, arrogant and elitist fellow, said that there were no more seats in the dining part. I said the gentleman with the glasses told us to sit there. He asked me: which sir? I showed him the man. He then changed the version and said that there were only expensive dishes, because the kitchen was out of ingredients. I said there was no problem and that we could stay if we had a table with a view of the band. The same rough fellow then said he couldn't move the round table closer to the door because a family had reserved the view of the stage. All, I'm sure, because we were wearing a cap and shorts and looked young. We left, of course. A rough guy like that should give way to so many people who need work in Havana. Floridita, more attention to the service of your staff, please.

Our First visit was at the bar. Great atmosphere, lively music, reasonably fast and good service (given the place was super busy). Cocktails were nice, so was the food offered at the bar. However, we returned couple days later for dinner, and that was a totally different experience. The dining room service was very unprofessional and ignorant. About 60% of the listed items on the menu weren’t available (that left us with very, very limited choices as the menu is small originally). On top of that, the credit card machine was down. Wasn’t a lucky return! Regardless, the bar itself is a must try!

What an incredible experience visiting Floridita was. Floridita originally opened in 1817 with the name La Piña de Plata. Walking up to it I could immediately feel the old-school, classy vibes the exterior of the high-class restaurant and bar were giving off. The pink paint and rustic signage outside were just the beginning. As you walk in, the first thing that catches your attention is the electric atmosphere. Live music, everyone’s mingling, it’s classy. Real classy. Over to the left you see a life-sized statue of Ernest Hemingway at the bar that was sculpted by Cuban artist José Villa Soberón back in 2003. We finally squeezed our way through the crowds and found a table with enough chairs. We definitely got lucky, the place was packed and people flooded in non-stop the entire time we were there. I had the chance to try the Papa Hemingway and Strawberry daiquiris. Both were delicious but the Strawberry daiquiri was by far my favorite. It was also the favorite within our group. The Papa Hemingway is your typical daiquiri with maraschino liqueur. It was definitely interesting but still tasty. Visiting Floridita was definitely my favorite part of Old Havana, by far. I will definitely be back to Floridita next time I head to Cuba!

beyond the "historical" interest of the place (which is worth *1* visit) Floridita is crowded, loud, generally unpleasant, and the daiquiri is one of the most unmemorable in Cuba. The bartenders are so blasé about the countless tourists flooding the place, they're at best not smiling. The various bands playing are very aggressive when they pass between tables asking for money... BUT the place has kept an atmosphere, the bartenders wear fancy uniforms, there's a life-size bronze of Hemingway leaning against the bar with which you can be photographed, if you can get to it since there's a long queue...

One of the nostalgic bars frequented by Ernest Hemingway. They claim to be the inventor of the Daiquiri loved by Hemingway. It has a nice ambiance with friendly waiters and a good happy hour with a live band. It is very popular with the tourists so chairs are hard to come by and if you get one do not just stand or someone is likely to grab it. Take a picture with the bust of Hemingway and enjoy this “Tourist Trap”. As can be seen in my pictures, the bar looks so much better at night.

Mrs G and I wandered through the streets to get to the iconic bar, and it was packed! Had the daiquiri, which was frozen but still tasty. I would have given it a 3 star rating because of crowds, but the drink was great.

Without a doubt one of the best cocktail bars in Havana. It is difficult to get a good table but you can do it by booking. 6 CUC daiquiris. Basically the only drink to have there, and made fresh constantly. You have the blenders going non stop, waiters rushing back trays of empty martini glasses, live Cuban music and an international crowd. Really fun vibe for the bar. Haven't tried the food- the restaurant was empty both times we went but the bar is always full. The prices are very high for food from 10 to 30 CUC per plate which is extravagant for Cuba but probably your best bet for a steak of that's how you roll.

Fun experience for a tourist spot. Lots of people are there all the time but worth the effort. A great opportunity to meet people from everywhere. When asked a couple from Italy, allowed us to share a table. We then shared it with a couple from the US and then a family from Poland. The staff worked so hard. A well dressed gentleman cleared off the table and checked in on us in the middle of the crowds, live music and groups of tourist coming and going. He was awesome in his suit.

The daiquiris lived up to all that was expected. We also ordered some tapas. I can't say much about the food As we had so much better food in Havana. The restaurant is in a different area than the bar, but far less crowded. The restrooms were clean and attended. The wait staff was only average. The decor was very nice ..for the nostalgia of the place it is worth a visit. We went on a Friday night around 8 and had no trouble getting in. Later on we rode by and saw a huge line around the block. There are far too many places to have a great drink, listen to music and have less crowds.

(Translated by Google) «My mojito in La Bodeguita, my daiquiri in El Floridita» Ernest Hemingway. Local historian of Havana, where obviously we could only try the famous daiquiri, and we tried several, where Hemingway used to take it. A place with a "historical" atmosphere. The only flaw that has now become a bit too touristy. (Original) «My mojito in La Bodeguita, my daiquiri in El Floridita» Ernest Hemingway.

(Translated by Google) Too many people inside, it makes it difficult to enjoy your daiquiri. They can hit you with a selfie stick or a cell phone more than once ... A shame because it is set in aesthetics and music to move you to another era. I found the bar service to be very attentive and fast (something essential with the people who were in the bar). Quite expensive prices, the truth, although delicious. But hey, not even that dissuades the tourist ...

Be careful that they climb at the same speed as babies. 😠 Considering Cuba are struggling and rely heavily on tourism you would think some staff would learn the basics of another language. I attempted to order two pizzas from this place which took 15 minutes as a walk in. As I waited I decided some salad would be good. None of the 9 people running around n...

👍👍 Great modern restaurant. Western food. fast service. We ate pizzas that were excellent and pasta that was a little less. Most of the diners are local, with almost no tourists. Nice music, excellent service, cheap prices.

👍👍 Amazing! My family and I went to dinner twice there and it was always delicious. The lobster is excellent and I recommend trying the famous Daquiri! There is also live Cuban music so perfect to get in the mood before going out.
