Let’s start with the good parts: The hotel is fairly cheap compared to other hotels in the area, you would have to choose general public rates if you are not a member of SESC. that is still cheaper than any other hotel in the area. activities are fairly cheap as well you have spa on site some complementary activities and trips throughout the pantanal river. you leave directly from the hotel to all the activities or short walk to the river so it’s nice you don’t have to drive to get there and you don’t need a car. They have a ride from Cuiaba which is fairly cheap as well. Beverages and snacks are very cheap over there as well as the rate is Full board with breakfast lunch and dinner provided. Good for families and kids/ couples. Don’t forget to try the dinner at the spa, it’s a 4 course meal and it’s very good and it’s complimentary but you have to book it in advance. The not so nice parts: If you do not speak Portuguese there is literally no one that speaks English and they do zero effort to try to help you in understanding. Feels like they literally despite foreigner travelers maybe this hotel is aimed towards the Brazilians and I made a mistake booking it as a foreigner. Don’t plan any trip unless you are coming with a group of six people or more, As they often do not have enough people to accommodate the trip. Do not plan to use the spa as well as they do not have enough people to accommodate requests two days ahead. Final thoughts I would book it but not expecting To do specific activities and understand that no one would speak English in the hotel. As soon as I get there I would go to the tourist area book all the activities that I want to have my schedule I would recommend to bring a pen and paper and write down the days with activities so it will be more clear for you which days which activity goals and then go directly to the spa and book whatever treatment that you want to do.

Very nice place to stay in. Preserved nature. Wild birds and life all long the Cuiabá river.

A very simple and highly structured way to experience the wilds of the Pantanal, especially if you have kids. I recommend a boat tour and the trans-Pantanal "Safari". At the hotel, there are lots of activities for kids and grown-ups, well done. The food is all buffet style, and much better quality than one would expect. Vegetarians, beware: lots of dishes have meat hidden in them (eg, "omelete de queijo", literally "cheese omelette", also has ham). You can apparently talk with the kitchen staff and they'll accommodate your requests somehow. I didn't do that, there were usually plenty of options, I just wish they labeled things better. Anyway, my personal preference is for camping or other less structured vacationing, but I still had a very good time, and my 4-year old liked it so much he said he wanted to live there.

I have stayed in other lodges very well reviewed in Pantanal, but this is the best considering what they do to preserve Pantanal. I am the biggest fan of the work they do. This lodge is located near Pocone and in the beginning of Pantanal, a treasure of mankind, if you have never heard or never been there you should rush until it is too late. The more the world population grows the more production of beef grows and consequently the more Pantanal is deforested to give place for cattle. SESC Pantanal does an excellent job by teaching the guest the importance of preservation. I do recommend SESC Pantanal thousands of times for the social work and awareness of preservation and I believe other lodges should do the same. It is amazing what “Seu João” does in the butterfly house, that guy is blessed and passionate for Pantanal and will do all he can to preserve it. This butterfly house helps 25 families by giving a salary every month just to help the butterflies to strive knowing that butterflies are essential in the food chain for the bird to feed with which will later be a prey for other animals. GO TO SESC PANTANAL AND SUPPORT THE PRESERVATION!!!
