Perfect cafe for delicious coffee and snacks/pastries. Newly expanded large seating area both indoor and outdoors. Great variety of coffees for pour over as well as an awesome selection of beans to take home. I always make time to stop by this spot when in town. Can get busy early morning and on weekends but worth the wait!

The best coffee shop in Portland, with the friendliest staff and great taste in music. I'm a huge fan of any place with baristas who are willing to engage in thoughtful conversation instead of just being aloof and condescending. Don't sleep on the chocolate chip cookie either!

Best biscuits in Portland!! Good cold brew, too. The staff was so so fun to chat with during our visit. Feels like a bunch of friends hanging out and the vibe that ensues is immaculate!

Five out of five for this place! Wonderful service and little place. The maple latte was absolutely delicious!

The best coffee in Portland and one of the top roaster in the North East IMHO. Great little caffe next to their main roasting facility with friendly skilled baristas, amazing coffee and a limited but good pastry selection.

I order bags of roasted coffee from Tandem almost monthly now - they're one of my absolute favorite roasters, and I'm so glad I found them. Every bag I get from them is clean, sweet, juicy, and really easy to nail the flavor notes on. Huge fan. If you haven't tried their La Piramide, it's an awesome daily driver. Sipping it now!

Just wanted to write a review about Tandems coffee. It is just the best. I have never actually been to their cafe in Portland, I have been buying their coffee online in 2lb bags every three months or so since 2020. I heard about them when I worked at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and bought the beans online. They roast their own beans and since my husband and I are coffee aficionados, I can honestly say it's our favorite. We have had Blue bottle, Philz, Coffee Collective from Copenhagen, you name it. These beans are some of the best! You really can't beat the Ethiopian beans for pour over from Tandem, and for the price, it's such a great deal. I never write reviews, but had to write this because we now live in San Diego and have beans shipped to us all the time. Besides espresso, this is all we drink! Thank you Tandem!

We pulled in, weren't entirely sure where to park or where the entrance was, but signs helped us out. we purchased two whole bean coffees, Costa Rica and Guatemala. SO Amazing. The jalapeno scones were to die for. I took a double espresso to go. we will be back on a more regular basis from now on. would like to also check out their other location with the bakery.

Tandem is a great roaster. I had an El Salvador single origin pour over. Well priced. Well brewed. Exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. Super busy but you can see why. Took home a bag of the beans. Family had a skim latte that got great reviews. Baked goods were solid. Scone excellent. Son reports cookie a touch too chocolatey. But you are there for the coffee and that is perfect.

The best coffee shop on the east coast! The staff are always exceptionally wonderful people, and the coffee and baked goods are exceptional! Could not recommend them more!

I got super excited when I found out I'd be staying close to Tandem for a couple days. The online clout did not disappoint. This was easily the best specialty coffee shop I experienced in Maine. Over two visits, I ordered 4 single origin pourovers and all were highly distinct and nuanced. The pastries were fantastic, the ambience was bright yet cozy, and the staff was sooo kind and open to conversation. Please visit and support these folks if you're in the area, or order a bag of the Astrid Medina (?). That one has a lovely yet unexpected pineapple note you don't usually get in a washed coffee!

We love Tandem! Portland is a favorite spot overall and the city can do no wrong by me. Great space, low key ambience and a true passion for great coffee. We had “cortados” and went back for a second round. We love the location and nice outdoor picnic tables. We had a super sunny day for our visit and would suggest a stop when you are in town.

Great coffee and lattes. Hospitality is A+ went above and beyond to look for a shirt i wanted even with a slightly busy morning service.

Wow! What a great find! We are out of town from New Orleans and stumbled in here on the last day of our trip, and really wish we had found it sooner because it was so special. Everything from the friendly barista to the cold brew coffee, baked goods, music, and clean bright ambience was amazing. This is definitely a spot we will return to if we ever find ourselves back in Portland, it is totally worth a visit for some fuel for the body and the spirit.

Got a few bags of beans, a mocha and an iced oat milk latte. Mocha is one of the best I've had. Actually tastes like chocolate and isn't gritty. The oat milk latte was espresso forward and evenly mixed. Usually can't taste the coffee in these very much so was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to try the beans when back home!

Very tasty quiche! Light and fluffy and delicate. The latte is superb as well. Great pick me up for a rainy Maine day.
