Crazy how rude the staff can be at this place. They are not even just plain cold with customers but they make faces and talk behind your back, thinking we don't understand? Or it might be directed so we just sit still and suck it up. Not worth the stress for a meal. Funny that they claim to be a wellcomming place. Joke on us that we even tried.

Trying to get a seat on the terrace we told with great emphasis that if we haven't booked we can't. No alternatives offered, had to ask again if we can sit inside. While were allowed in, the waitress was frowning in passing making faces and commenting behind our backs. Had no chance to taste the food because we were not welcome at all. Left and picked a different place. Unfriendly may be normal here, but definitely not worth putting up with. The funny part is the sign at the entrance about the some Potsdam "welcomingness" prize they claimed to have.

What a gem of a restaurant! The food here was so delicious and the waitress was incredibly kind! We were just in the area to visit but I sincerely wish I lived closer, as this place is the kind of spot I know I’d love to visit over and over. Really really good!

We recently moved from Great Britain to Potsdam Babelsberg and we love Hiemke! Great selection of German and Czech beers and really good German food. Prost!

I visited this place with my family in August 6, 2018 at 12:30 pm. Inside restaurant was empty, because weather was very hot. Tables inside are small for 1-2 persons. There were 2 free tables big enough for 4-5 persons outside, but reserved. My nephew speaks German and he asked, "Can we eat quick (according to reservation, people will be here in 1 hour) and we will leave?" The staff in restaurant were very unfriendly, they told us that they do not have enough people to clean after us... Unbelievable!!!

super cute traditional restaurant, the service was extremly friendly ! Hard to find that around germany…no english menus, but they speak english in case you dont understand…overall i think the traditional dishes were the best, like the meatball and the dessert…i didnt like the risotto that much the pumpkin was a bit raw and bit spicy/ too seasoned…

Very nice restaurant with traditional German food. Weather was beautiful so we sat on the front terrace, for lunch. Schnitzel and entrecôte both very tasty, as was the Potsdam beer. Recommended.

Unfortunately the good times are fading away at this restaurant. With the beginning of 2020 they "modernized" the menu card. The food food, that I have posted before you will most like not get anymore. Obviously the restaurant is not willing to offer traditional German food in the future. The crew is incredible friendly and passionate.

Awesome food, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. Very generous portions and good prices.

If you are hungry, do not order “Bulette” because there is only one meatball and it is not enough.

Delicious food and great atmosphere! Our waitress was very kind and the service was quite fast even though there were a lot of other guests. Unfortunately we couldn’t tip by card but we will be back for sure!
