The hot mocha drink I ordered was absolutely delicious! I would come back to Hattie’s for the mocha coffee, but I would also come back just to spend time in this cool and cute space! This is a good spot to work remote at or get some tasks done on your laptop at. There were a lot of people working on their laptops with plenty of additional room on the table and accessibility to outlets. Along with a full coffee and tea menu, there are also little pastries and food items such as the Double Sausage Sandwich that you can order. Looking for a nice coffee shop date spot? Check out Hattie’s!

Decent location for an espresso focused milk beverage. However, the cortado was more like a double traditional cap so a little more milk than I was wanting at the time. Still the drink was alright, albeit the milk a little too hot. The location is typical of many shops with a few seating options, but not overly spacious. Decent enough to be able to read a book or do some light work while there. Not a bad place, but nothing unique or exceptional about it to warrant additional visits when I’m in KC.

A lovely coffee experience nestled in the heart of Prairie Village, Hattie's has remained a community staple for over a generation while maintaining a menu that reflects the culinary zeitgeist one wants from such an establishment.

We were sitting at the place for roughly 15 min after just getting lunch. We of course had already decided what we’re getting to drink when we’re ready. The barista rudely came up to us and told us to order or to leave. She easily could’ve nicely asked us as that was our intention. I can’t help but feel this behavior was racially motivated as we’re all Muslim women in this white space.

Always like supporting a local coffee place! The ladies working were very friendly. If you like fresh juice, you need to check this place out. Ordered fresh orange juice and it was delicious! Great place to check out if you are close by.

Overall an amazing coffee shop, the decor inside and out looks modern yet so inviting and homey. Looks like a great place to relax, study, and hangout. Can’t wait to be back and with more of my friends. (Previous comment was edited, company had good response time and great communication. All 5 stars well deserved.)

I came into this coffee shop with a few friends and while we were exploring the menu, we got lost in conversation. We were all very excited to try the menu items as they seemed very diverse. Whilst my friends and I were talking, a barista came over to our group and rudely informed us that we’ve been talking for 15 minutes and that we needed to order and stop chit chatting. We were so put off by her demeanor and her language that we left instead of staying and enjoying our coffee. Let’s reiterate that service is equally as important as the quality of the product. Very unfortunate.

Seasonal drinks and pastries. Light, medium, dark and decaf bulk coffee for sale, roasted fresh each week. Fresh pressed juices and whole food smoothies. Super kind and skilled staff. Cozy, upbeat atmosphere. Large outdoor patio in the sunshine. Amazing gluten free pastries, breakfast sandwiches, vegan syrups and alternative milk options.

Excellent coffee and service. I've also purchased several whole bean varieties for home brewing.

Not only is Ali's Elixir super fire, but Ali herself was an absolute vibe! My fiancee and I have been meaning to come here for a while. Did not disappoint. Will be back. Great coffee too 🔥🔥🔥

For a small local business they are very pricey. I understand that times are tough, but to pay $18.50 for a large and a sandwich is a bit much!

Little neighborhood joint tucked at the end of a strip mall. Super friendly service always. A lovely patio for sipping coffee & watching the little birds. Great tasting coffee & plenty of offerings on the menu board and pastry trays!

Very dry pumpkin bread and the coffee wasn't great. Then the cup exploded and the coffee went all over my kitchen... Sooo... I have no words.

First time here, I tried the Poppin Sammie and it was delicious. I also had the brewed Nicaraguan which was just average on flavor, but hot and ready. Friendly staff.

We had a really yummy iced vanilla latte and black coffee. The pumpkin bread was yummy too. I like the vibe of the place even though it’s small inside. I can’t wait to go back.

Hattie's has great coffee and friendly staff. In particular, I would like to say thanks to Marge and Lotus for being excellent representatives. They have gone out of their way to make my three rescue Great Pyr dogs to feel more comfortable as they get accustomed to people and new experiences. Because of them I not only make my own coffee at home but also come by for coffee from Hattie's. Thanks

Drip coffee tasted excellent. I would have bought a bag of beans as well if its packaging had a roast date on it, which it did not.

Cannot say enough nice things about this locally Shop. My daughter has celiac and we have a hard time getting alternatives at any of the major brand super-store coffee shops. This place makes her feel so special to have so many delicious gluten free options!! And my son, who typically hates anything gluten free actually prefers their gluten free treats!!!! 🙌. THANK YOU!!!

I was working in the Prairie Village area videotaping a jobsite that required me to be in this area every day for a month. I hopped coffee place to coffee place to take time to edit mid-day and out of all the places I went this coffee shop was by far the best. Good coffee and a nice environment. The staff was extremely friendly as well. Definitely recommend.

Always love Hattie's! Today we went and my son's latte had foam art and he was super impressed! 5.1 stars, he said!

Was not a very peaceful place to start a day. The barista's basically yelled their conversations at each other.

  • 5/5 Amanda K. 3 years ago on Google
My coffee was great and I had a slice of the homemade coffee cake. It was so good!! Staff were exceptionally friendly and I loved all the homemade options. Great little cafe. Love the vibe and the decor as well. Outdoor, patio seating option available. Highly recommend :)

Been here quite a few times. The atmosphere is cool and the baristas are nice but seem inexperienced. The baked goods are eh. The last time we went here, they gave us a latte that tasted burnt and then remade it and the new one was just as burnt. I also ordered a cold brew with cream and a little sugar, they poured coffee over ice and told me there was cream and sugar packets on the counter. Just kinda lame compared to other coffee shops.

The BEST! We recently discovered this place anew... My family eats a gluten-free diet for health reasons, and the owner of Hattie's makes delicious pastries, sweets, gf quiche, and gf biscuits for all of their sandwiches! How wonderful is that?!! The staff are some of the kindest, warmest people in the business, you can feel at home here. One of my favorites is the Stop Light Breakfast with steamed eggs, sliced avocado and tomatoes! If you're into cold brew you cannot beat their formulation, delicious! This place just has some kind of magic that all coffeehouses attain to...

👍👍 This review is LONG overdue!!! My husband and I got married on May 28th of this year. We had Scratch as our caterer and it was by far one of THE best decisions.
