Great little museum which showcases Mexico's naval history from precolonial to the modern era. The air conditioning makes for a nice escape from the heat and the museum costs 45 pesos per person with discounts for students, children, military personnel. The cafe also has AC and is free for entry and Jamaica or hibiscus fresca is only 20 pesos. Loved that. Definitely check this place out of you have the chance!

Wednesdays 6 pm to 10 pm sunset inexpensive drinks and snacks with Javier Axel trovador. This is my favorite local Museum. I discovered many facts about Mexican history including details about the trade development with the Philippines. The models are very detailed. I enjoyed piloting the ship in the large simulator on the second floor. The staff are very proud of their work. The coffee shop is excellent and quiet. Oddly enough it opens at 9 even though the museum only opens at 11. Free on Wednesday. Otherwise cheap enough at 45 pesos. Sadly there is no view of the boardwalk or the Bay from the second floor.

A must see in Puerto Vallarta. To my pleasant surprise, admission was free (for at least the day I was there). Beautiful models and very clean. Spent about an hour here. Great place to take kids to learn about Mexico's naval history. Interactive w/ English & Spanish translations.

If you think you know Mexican history, think again. This is a great place to visit and be educated about the country you are in. Very informative, interactive and has A/C. A must see and do. Not expensive and worth it.

Military and Retirees get in free, that include the U.S., just presented my ID. Nice Museum. Not huge, but interesting from a Mexican perspective. Shows their pride of their service. Plus it’s climate controlled and has clean restrooms.

Fascinating, but not huge. Most of the signs have English subtitles. Touches on most eras of Mexican history, but some previous background in the subject will definitely help. Well worth the small entrance fee if you are interested in maritime or Mexican history.

Fascinating and informative. I could easily have spent an hour there. As an American Marine Corps retiree, I got free admission. Heroic stand of their naval cadets against U.S. troops at Veracruz was inspiring!

Very interesting and a good place to spend 1-2 hours learning some history.

Larger than I expected. Two floors have enough content for about 40 minutes. Air conditioning is lacking except for one spot on the first floor, it is bearable though. The history could have been told more fluidly from one poster and section to the next. If you have no background of Mexican history it can be hard to follow/ put together. I left with much more knowledge but also more questions about how the historical events displayed happened to come about and transitioned to the next. It is essentially free to visit though so I would recommend. When we visited recently the simulator was not operational.

Great museum. Wonderful displays and artifacts. We also loved the air conditioning and washrooms! Friendly guy working there in uniform told us about some of the pieces and his experience in the Navy!

I like museums, this was good. Free when I went but I would've paid what they wanted. 1 hour min but I took 2 and still could of seen or at least read more. Wife didn't go, hates museums. Rather be shopping, lol.

Nicely redone museum with a lot of information in English. Also interesting to get a different perspective on what we've been told as Americans. The staff are friendly and helpful. Kids and adults can have fun trying their hand at piloting a virtual submarine in the bay.

Beautiful. Not too big or detailed m but it has a life size simulator of a naval patron and it's awesome. You get to take in and out of port a navy vessel under whatever weather conditions you want, day or night. There's also a nice cafe with wifi. Highly recommended.
