We first arrived and the staff was amazing and accommodating. Our room wasn’t ready so they took our bags and we went straight to lunch. The lunch buffet was not great. Overall, the food was horrible. We went off resort 3-4 times to get other food options. The only decent meal was the Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the pool and entertainment options. The staff was excellent the whole time. The room was okay, but it was always warm and never really got cool and the shower never got hot. It was disappointing that we booked through apple vacations so we were told we didn’t have access to wifi or room service without an additional fee. Overall it was not a horrible stay, but I would’ve rather paid more to book something nicer.

Amazingly fun for families. Great staff, good rooms, amazing swim up bar! For the price it’s one of the best all inclusive in the area if you’re looking for fun and not stuffy. If you don’t like kids, go somewhere else. Three things they don’t cheap out on. They have good comfortable beds, great AC units in the rooms, and great blackout curtains if you want to sleep in. Only downside is the sometimes arbitrary lineups to get in restaurants.

I definitely would not recommend this place at all. The rooms are absolutely nothing like the pictures. We had to call the front desk twice in 5 days to fix the AC, the absolute coolest it got was 71°. The dresser was broken. The curtains had holes. The bathroom mirror looked like it was from an 1800s movie. The food was ok at best. The staff was so great, especially compared to where they were working. Wish I had read the reviews before we booked.

The rooms are nice and the suite is spacious. They are clean and the staff is extremely helpful and kind. The place is busy although it is big so everything seems quieter than I expected. There is lots to do. The only thing I don't like is that you cannot make dinner reservations everything is first come. This can cause big waits at restaurants. Overall I would still recommend this place. Great value for the money you spend. On a side note, I had a not so pleasant experience with an evening manager. I was looking for assistance in dining in the Italian restaurant although I did not have shoes suitable for dining there. She was rude and dug her heels in. The concierge suggested the food and beverage manager come and speak to me and he immediately found a solution of sitting us in another seaside restaurant and letting us order off the Italian menu. He should be congratulated for his quick solution. He is such an asset to the resort.

I don’t know why this place has so many good reviews. The all inclusive isn’t worth it at all, drinks are extremely watered down and food is terrible compared to any restaurant in town. If you aren’t local you will be treated like garbage by the bartenders and staff, a few staff are great but i can count them on 2 fingers. Front desk will charge you an arm and a leg if you lose a bracelet or any cards. Honestly a terrible experience and I recommend looking elsewhere when you come to Puerto Vallarta.

False advertisement. They show pictures of the nice upscale side but that’s not necessarily what you’re getting. We had problems since the airport, where they didn’t confirm our seats (we booked through the hotel and even called like 3 days in advance for confirmation). We got here and already in one of the rooms the beds had stains on the sheets and pillows. We had to get them changed out, then we realized we booked one king bed room and one double, we were given 2 double bed rooms. It took forever but we finally got it and again the bed covers were nasty. Don’t recommend, if you’re going to spend your money go somewhere else. Staff was nice and it’s not too far from the airport.

This was my first time back at Sunscape since the pandemic. Reading all the reviews I was nervous, not going to lie! We arrived and the check in line was only about 8 people long, we were greeted with a drink (hibiscus juice) and the staff was super pleasant. We upgraded our room without issue. The check in helped with breaking our large bills into tipping denominations whenever needed. Ilsa was a sweetheart! Mariam was gracious and helpful! Elmer in concierge was so wonderful and helpful! Alberto at the lobby bar along with Richy, were fun to order from. Our pool server Alex was super friendly and attentive! My friend loved the noon aqua-aerobics with Alejandro (Armando??). Our room staff did a great job keeping us in water, clean towels and even chocolates each night on our pillows. The shows were cool, and the food was great…Yes, the pool bottom needs some upgrading and there are some storm repair needing to be done on the smaller wing but overall it was as pleasant a time as my visits there pre-pandemic!

okay, to start, the visuals are beautiful. a perfect view of the city and the ocean. buttttt, unfortunately the place itself wasn't so good in the service and the food. food selection was mid as hell, very little to pick, and the service sucked. no locks on the doors for some reason? paintings above the bed just kinda sit there...one fell on my head, and i found blood on my chair. tiny rooms too if you're expecting something bigger this place is definitely not what i was expecting. would NOT recommend T_T

I was quite disappointed by this hotel. It charges very high rates for what it offers, which is outdated and old. The maintenance and painting of the exteriors cannot hide the wear and tear of this hotel. The food is average and there is very little variety, and it's low budget. Only a few employees are exceptional. I do not recommend this hotel as there are many better options with better prices. I want to clarify that my stay was for work and not by choice.

We booked at this hotel because it had descent reviews. We looked for a place that was going to be kid friendly and all inclusive. It turns out the all inclusive this resort offers is not by any means all inclusive. They make you buy an up graded price for all inclusive and they make sure your stay is not fun at all. I was confused why I had to call every day to even have fresh water in the room but half way through the stay when we called late for water we were told it was our mistake for not calling in the morning. Not to mention you can not order food by room service and they do not let you bring food from anywhere in the resort to your room. They also call themselves a resort and spa but they do not currently have a spa. There are massages available on the beach or in the tiny nail salon but that's not a spa! Furthermore if you want to have a nice "Italian dinner" and you have children you are not allowed in! the age limit is 8 and up!! Some of the staff is nice if they know you are going to tip them and others act like you are not there. I thought it was going to be a fun family vacation but it has its nightmarish moments. I feel like fore the price we paid we should have picked somewhere else to stay. BTW the buffet is awful and I don't recommend. We have left the "all inclusive" hotel every day to eat because of the horrible service in the buffet and the taste of the food. One final thing Wifi is not free and hard to use in the lobby. If it was the only thing that was wrong here I would have been just fine. Buyer be ware it is not so peachy!

Currently staying at this the hotel. Very short staffed. Says it’s a family hotel but they don’t let you do anything. You can only eat at the restaurants or buffet but you can’t go in any swimwear or tank top. Men have to be wearing a T-shirt. They have a burger bar but you have to eat at the tables in front no food at the pool zone or beach area. Very upset with the service here if you come with kids I recommend looking elsewhere.

We like the hotel so far, just for the few things we noticed after walking into our room for the first time. Staff is very friendly, very helpful, very humble. I usually do not have very high expectations at any hotel, does not matter how many stars they have. So I not like too disappointed with this one. The room view is very beautiful, we see the pools and the beach right in front of us. The room is nice, except for the few things I mentioned on the pictures! The food so far has been amazing! The cooks, servers, and everyone have been awesome to be honest. There are a few restaurants on the hotel, they all served very good food. So far our experience has been ok. We don’t really spend much time at the hotel anyways. Just for food and sleep really! Some restaurants do have a dress code, it varies from casual to elegant-casual (Whatever that means lol) We used a company called Amstar, which the company that picked us up at the airport and the one we are doing tours and activities with. The hotel tours and activities are a bit more expensive, for the same adventure!

We have been here several times and it is one of our favorite places to stay in PV. The staff are very friendly, the rooms and the walk in showers are spacious in the Jr. Suites, our room of choice. The only reason we didn't give them a five star is we found the food to be below a five star. It is not terrible but often the hot foods were on the cool side and the meat choices somewhat limited. There is only one buffet open most of the time so when the hotel is busy, the line ups can be a bit long. Having said all that, I do highly recommend this place. The pool and beach setting is perfect. The entertainment crew are amazing. Big shout out to Edith, rooms division Manager. She is quick to address any issues with a great attitude and kindness. We are looking forward to our return.

The resort is very well located, With a beautiful beach front. The staff was very friendly but I find that the meal time is very badly organized ( no line ups, people walking the opposite way or not waiting their turn) host of restaurants not well informed. Some food was not fresh and recycled( the breads and fruits for example) . Our room smell like mold after cleaning and having some fresh air in the smell improves. The facilities need more maintenance ( bottom of pool is dirty and cracking) the line ups in the elevators were the worst. You loose your time going up and down to your room as they are only 2 out of 3 elevators functioning. Another observation is that the sun club it is not worth it. You pay for basically nothing; the lounge is not extraordinary . The beach reserved area was full almost all the time during our stay. Also lack off chairs for the beach area, pool and special events. Music was extremely loud. We were on the 17th floor and can still hear the noise I can imagine the people with rooms in the same floors. The kids explorers club is a very interesting alternative for families. They take care of your kids while you van enjoy some adult time. I wouldn’t recommend because for the price they charge you can get better resorts. This resort is not the Hyatt quality I am used to….

We had read so many bad reviews that we were hesitant but I do think overall it was good. It was a great place for my nieces with the water slides. However the last two days it broke down so there were so many kids in the pool. We ate at the buffet most days with had your basic options. One day we had dinner at Tiki Taco and it was good but damn do they need more air units in there😅 The bad experience was that we arrived at 3:30 and our room was not ready yet till 6 pmish !! But we got a room with a big balcony even though it just had 2 lounge chairs. Overall the staff was nice just that one day we asked about the free kayaks and he told us that wasn’t included. They are included you just have to go to the beach around 10-11am. I think it’s cool if you want the kids to have a good time too. We got a good price directly through the hotel.

Everyone who worked there was pleasant and served well. Upon my arrival, I found that my entire reservation had been canceled. It took over 6 hours to resolve. We sat in the humid lobby, waiting around, hungry, tired, and frustrated. However, the resort smelled like it just endured a flood. Lots of wet mildew smell. The buffet seating area is open to view the water or the pool area. The downside is that the Bee's were in heavy rotation. They were hungry too, so we spent a lot of time orotecting our food and trying not to get stung. ( Mostly during breakfast or lunch). We were in an all-inclusive room. It's advertised as having a stocked fridge full of drinks. However, the fridge was empty. The best part about this resort is the price of the massage and the tech ( Norma) who serviced me. 2 hours for $60 Also, the Italian restaurant was the only place of high quality to eat at. I wish the resort offered more.

This resort is perfectly adequate. The food options are just fine, although we struggled a bit as vegetarians. The rooms are clean but ours needed some touch ups: drawers would slowly slide open, kids room door was janky, etc. We aren't typically resort people so this was an experiment we don't plan to repeat. On the plus side, our smallish kids had a blast. The water slides were great for them. The pool has a shallow section that worked well. And the fire show was pretty amazing. All in all, it's not bad and a good value. Just not our style.

For a budget all inclusive, this resort was what one would expect. The web site pictures are 'doctored and not quite what you find. Rooms, bathrooms outdated. Hallways are dark and dingy. Buffet restaurants were good. Food plentiful and tasty. Staff were attentive but a bit understaffed. Pool was good but needs maintenance on the cement decking. Trip hazards. Went out at 6, 630 every morning to throw towels on lounge chairs to reserve them. Not enough chairs for number of guests. Bars were really good. Drinks excellent. Housekeeping was TERRIBLE. Left tips on bed in the morning ...come back to room after breakfast, tip gone and room not made up til late afternoon. Bathroom never cleaned the whole week and had to run after them for clean towels. However, the weather was gorgeous. Sunny with temperatures around 27 to 30 degrees every day. So, if it's sun and warm weather you want then this resort works for the price.

Worst resort , no air conditioning your sweating while eating in all restaurants, rooms are humid and hot , sheets are dirty and old , no bottle water are provided , they don’t restock the mini bar in rooms , Long lines for every restaurant, rude personal staff in reception. Same entertainment at night , water down mixed drinks , hot beer , food is not appetizing, same menu every day . Worst experience ever , not worth your money . Pool is overcrowded! Beach water is filthy with river sewer water .

Staff are great and friendly, but it's the only thing similar to other Hyatt properties I have stayed with. I would avoid this hotel for vacation in future. Cons Room is small and outdated, and the water temperature is unstable. Crowded everywhere. I can't find a chair on the beach at 10am. There's always a queue at the restaurant. Food quality is similar to a ~$20 buffet in the US, if not worse. Kids pool is not well cleaned and only opens 12-5pm

We found an Airbnb place that just happened to be on this resort. What a cool concept to have the same beach & pool access as the guests staying at Sunscape. You also had the option of purchasing the all inclusive day passes. We were sold. The side we stayed on is called Torre Condo mar. We did research for reviews & as it was quite mixed. We’ve been to Mexico several times before, never had a bad experience ever , especially with staff. The people of Mexico are so welcoming, friendly, & hospitable. Unfortunately, not the same at this place. To be honest, the only good thing about this place is the location. Food, service , staff, needs A LOT of work. Our Airbnb host was great, his place was exactly what was needed for my family of 6 but it’s unfortunate that our host has to have dealings with the resort staff as it is them that will hurt his ratings. We were told by our Uber driver that PVR tourism was 80 % Canadian yet a-lot of the staff could not speak nor understand English. I believe this is the cause of all the miscommunications we had with the staff. We had to wear bracelets for the beach & pool access. We decided on our last full day to purchase the all inclusive day pass & had another coloured bracelet for that. The only thing that that we were told was it was valid from 9 am - 1 am & to not remove or lose your bracelet or you will be charged $150 each . Normal, simple rules as all the other all inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. We had to check out 11 am the next day so we wanted to hit up the beach. On our way back the front desk clerk named MIGUEL told us that our bracelets had expired, we were suppose to get them removed & now he would be charging us 150 USD. Each!! We explained that this was not communicated to us from the beginning. THEN he accused us of using the breakfast buffet & getting coffee then pointed at my sons coffee cup. It was. STARBUCKS coffee that we got from next door to the resort that early morning. Security & supervisor was called as my husband was upset. Miguel was essentially calling us thieves. When it was verified that we did not take advantage of any buffets or coffees. They basically said they wouldn’t charge us. Bracelets were cut off & That’s it. We received no apologies whatsoever . You accused us of stealing & we don’t deserve an apology? Yes you are only trying to do your job, but if you were actually doing your job you would have the actual proof FIRST to back up your claim/accusations 2 staff members apologized for this experience . Thank you to Veronica J.M. Hernandez & another gentleman whose name we had forgotten for helping us with this situation. This definitely would have gotten out of hand without both of their assistance. These 2 are too good for this place.

Hotel is poorly build is falling apart. Not sure when it will collapse. Maybe in another earthquake. The beams and walls are showing sign of cracks. They will probably repair with drywall compound to cover up the damage. People working at the place is not very friendly and very rude with an attitude problem. You will be evict if you express any of you concern so if you like me like to point things out. You will be a problem for them.

The place overall is outdated. The food it's not great. No flavor not well cooked The receptionist not very friendly there's 5 people behind the reception and only one person trying to help. I don't recommend this place don't waste your money on a 5 hr presentation thinking your getting a good deal. The sales person will make you feel obligated to buy. Overall this place shouldn't even be opened for to the public . There was recently an earthquake and the structure got compromised. I took some pictures that I will be posting if allowed. Our room was all filled with cracks due to this natural event. The elevator sounded like it was compromised as well . You can't miss all the cracks in the foundation as you get closer. Don't waste your money .

This place is just one big hustle. Run down property. Below average food. Room service took 2 hours....7pm-9pm. My 11 yr old was half asleep when food finally arrived after repeated calls. Kids activities are geared towards 6yr old and younger not matter what they tell you. I've spoken to 4 different concierge at this point and not one has done anything for us. Same run around every time. Don't waste your money like I did.

After reading all the reviews on here I was a little sketched out to stay at this resort. I am a very picky person but I was pleasantly surprised especially for the cost! The whole resort inside and out was kept very clean. It’s an outdated building but our room and the common areas were very clean. Great view of ocean and pool from our room. Food isn’t that amazing but definitely was not awful. Seemed like basic resort food. The Italian restaurant had the best food. If you want a fantastic special dinner then go out of resort. Also drinks are not watered down if you explain how you want your drink made and not just get the drink of the day. I had very good drinks! Also the entertainment at the pool and night was awesome! The whole entertainment crew was the best. Our favorites were Mar and Mini Cooper!! Only recommendation would be that the swim up bar only be for adults and that they do a little more cleaning of sides of pool. But overall really enjoyed my stay!

The staff around the resort were friendly and helpful. The place is showing its age and needs some updating. My biggest disappointment is that you are very limited for quick offsite restaurant choices. There is a Starbucks and then about a three quarters of kilometer away and 'food truck' area - which is decent. Otherwise taxi or bus for more options.

Recently stayed at this resort at the end of 2021. Pool and beach were great. Food was horrible! After the 5th day my family didn't even want to try to eat it or find something that was edible. We all got sick from the food over the course of the 12 days. Won't not return for this reason. On the last day flight was at 5pm, check out is 12pm. Resort staff were not accommodating, did not want to provide food or drink after check out time.

After reading the reviews on here I was skeptical, but I found most of them to be not accurate. I am writing this review from my room with only a day left at the lovely resort. Upon entry the bell hop and valet was super nice, check-in was quick and easy and the rooms very welcoming. The buffet was good most nights but I definitely didn’t like the oriental night at all, seaside grill was good and my all time favorite was the taco place. Disappointed that there was no food at the pool and poolside grill never opened our whole stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the entertainment was a ton fun. Each night there is fireworks in the bay from the balcony of the rooms (I believe it was the pirate ship). Room service you can’t just pay for one night you have the pay $35usd for each night and the whole stay and wifi you have to pay for as well. If I were to do a family resort again I would definitely choose this one. This is a super friendly resort and there are lots of kids ( I will probably do adults only from here on out but hassle a 17 yr old with me this visit)

Half the restaurantes, in this "all-inclusive" do not open when they're supposed to. I asked why, and was told something along the lines of occupancy or staffing is less than 50%, so they can't open them all.. This means the only option for all three meals is a self-service buffet. Yet you pay a premium stay here, on the promise of quality food and table service. We also had to ask reception multiple times for the water to be replenished for the room. This is meant to be done daily. The location is great, though, and the staff are great. The kids' club also gets a big thumbs up.

We decided to book a last minute vacation and came across Sunscape. It was a great price and had a few things for kids so we booked. I was nervous about some of the recent reviews but I was willing to give it a try, and we are glad we did. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We requested a crib and they had it all set up for us before we checked in. There is wifi throughout the resort which was nice. If we needed anything we could call down and they were on it (mostly needed more water/towels) We had a deluxe partial ocean view room for our family of 4. Our view was stunning but was looking into the condominium next door which we were a bit disappointed in but it was actually better because we found it a lot quieter on that side. The room was ok. It definitely needed some maintenance work (mirror hanging off wall, shower leaking). We had no problem with hot water and the air conditioner worked well. Beds were clean and comfy. The glass sliding doors were great to have open to let in the ocean breeze. The resort was in a perfect location. Close to stores/restaurants and the beach is beautiful. We spent most of the time by the pool as there wasn’t much seating on the beach. The pool is heated and large. Lots of room to swim, activities going on throughout the day. The resort activity staff were so much fun and kept the kids entertained. The pool needs a few tiles fixed/replaced but it wasn’t anything that bothered us. They have great drink service around the pool and we liked that they didn’t allow food around the pool as it attracted birds. The shows at night were a blast and very well done. We liked all the performances and the special events/dinners they set up on the beach. The one thing I found most of the previous reviews had mentioned was that the food wasn’t great. I would have to agree. We ate at the Seaside Grill 5 nights out of the 7 days we stayed as they only have two other restaurants to choose from. For lunch the snack shack was open but was the same food everyday. No taste to most of the food. Luckily the cafe had a few options. No reservations had to be made which was nice and the lineups weren’t bad. Overall we had a blast and enjoyed our stay! We aren’t the type to stay at a resort more then once but I would still recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 3.5-4 star resort, has kids, loves a smaller resort, great location, great weather and friendly people. We visited this resort on June 3rd of 2023.. I didn’t like the food i was expecting more , Rooms are okay, only issue was that we found a small lizard on our first night.. Rooms do smell and are way too humid. I don’t think we will ever visit again. Workers were actually helpful to us so thats a plus and the shows at night are nice👍🏻 Puerto Vallarta in another hand is the place to go 💯

Horrible service the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. If you are a man, you will be discriminated against. You cannot go to any restaurant if you wear a shirt with sleeves, or if you are a woman, it is not necessary to wear sleeves. In our case, we are members of the vacation club, among which benefits are upgrades to rooms that were not offered. We decided We decided to visit the beach and we entered the VIP area for Members. Mr. Ulises, an employee of the front desk, gave the instruction to remove us from the area because, according to him, it is for a specific site, he will not hear from us. In short, the vacation club is a scam, the service is horrible and the experience has been the worst of my life.

  • 3/5 Natalie G. 9 months ago on Google
The service in the buffet was okay- they seemed short-staffed at times, so there were many times when wait staff didn't come to the table until our meal was half over, or forgot to bring our drinks after we ordered them. Most of the staff was quite friendly and eager to be helpful though. If you have children, be sure to take advantage of the Explorers Club. A place where children can go if children need other children to play with, if parents need a break, or if they want to eat at the Italian restaurant. The counselors at the Explorers Club were great and great with the children. Our child loved it there.

Awesome pool and entertainment staff!!! The food isn’t all that though, I highly recommend going to local restaurants for top notch authentic Mexican meals!! Best decision we made after our first day of eating at the resort!

Food was decent but not great. Options were very limited and desserts were quite sad- no ice cream which we found odd since every other resort we've been to had ice cream. The resort could use some renovations and upkeep. Location was absolutely beautiful and you could see whales and dolphins in the bay which was breathtaking. Don't go here if you want a relaxing vacation though. There's only 1 pool so it's constant chaos and it's literally impossible to relax at the beach with the amount of people that approach you to sell things. The resort seems to encourage these people and we had on average about 20 people per hour approach us when we were at the beach. They even come up to the edge where the buffet tables and pool chairs are and harass those people. They also don't give out water bottles which wasn't good as about 1/3 of our large group got sick (we think from the tap water but it's hard to know). Beds were made with only a bottom sheet half the time which was also odd, only some of us got a top and bottom sheet. The entertainment staff and kids explorer club staff were awesome though! They were always going above and beyond.

A very beautiful resort with many amenities to keep you having fun the whole time you're here. The staff is top notch, they are friendly, professional, and hardworking. You really couldn't ask for more. The views from the rooms are amazing and the beach area is perfect. Great swimming pool with a swim up bar. The food here it's some of the best resort food I'd ever had. This place is perfect for families to visit.

The Hotel strives to provide the highest level of service if you appear to be American and light skin. I traveled around the world and staid in several resorts all over Mexico. This is the first time the resort made it clear we are not welcomed and if service is requested Mexicans are their lowest priority. My family and I were discriminated from the moment we walked in. When we requested for service, the response is the music and all of its services are tailored to serve Americans. The sad thing is that my skin is dark and I am American but this hotel does not value that and screens people based on their skin color and nationality. The worst experience and hotel. Don’t go they will not see your value if you!

Here is my honest opinion about this resort. My family and I spent 6 days here and while we did enjoy the pool and some of the kid activities this resort lacks a lot of. For example long lines for breakfast and dinner. Also at the bar there is always a line and the only bar open after 7pm is inside the lobby. Let’s talk about the food there is no variety in the buffet always the same options and the food is not good at all. Only place we liked was tiki taco their tacos and burritos were pretty good. Also there is no options for kids for dinner like basic things like pizza hamburgers or fries stuff kids like. Some of the waiters and staff can be rude one pool waiter wouldn’t even look at us to take our order unless u wave dollars then they would treat you like royalty which it should not be like that. Shout out to Alex and Miguel by the pool they are excellent at customer service and very friendly. Also security at the front gate name Ulises was very polite and a great person he truly is a great worker. Honestly I don’t see myself coming back here there are way better options in Vallarta our experience was just OK the resort needs major upgrades and also more staff and more food options. But we still made it fun and ate out pretty much everyday if you don’t believe me you will see for yourself if you stay here.

We can in early May. The room we got was fantastic. It’s a difficult place if it’s crowded but eventually throughout the week, it became less busy and therefore easier to be here. We enjoyed the kids but if you don’t like kids this place is not for you. The buffet was good enough, but wasn’t open for supper. Lunch and supper at the Seaside Café was not good, in fact it was disappointing. The food flavour was 2/5 but the presentation was 4/5. I liked the 24 hour coffee snack bar. The coffee was good and I appreciated the light snacks. The drinks at the bars were well made, professional, and quick. Staff are helpful and accommodating.

We had 59 people for a wedding. For the price, it was great. We never had an issue getting chairs by the pool and we had a large group. The pool and much of the resort need repairs. Our room was ok. The balcony was huge but it didn't have the furniture seen in the photos online. We needed more seating and an umbrella. We were able to get in to get food fairly quickly. The beach is lovely! The wedding communication prior to coming wasn't as clear and quick as I would have liked, but the wedding turned out amazing! I sent them photos of what we wanted and they exceed our expectations! All in all- our whole party had a great time!

From the moment we arrived till our departure, our holiday was excellent. When we booked our room we advised them that we we're celebrating a retirement and a 60th birthday. The room we got was exceptional. A suite with banners, cold beer, etc. The staff were exceptional. The food was good. You must go to the Italian restaurant. The pool was awesome, just the right temperature. Our only complaint was there could have been more serving staff at times. We'll be back again. Special thanks to Roger, Jesus, Omer, and many more 5hat went out of their way to make our vacation perfect.

The 1st time I stayed, I was under a resort owner. My room was great. However, this time, I just booked, and it wasn't clean. I had to call to have the bedding changed on both beds. The bathroom was fair. The staff was great, though!

The staff at this hotel is absolutely amazing. We had a large group of people, 39 in total, that had come to have a fun family vacation. We could not of had a better experience than we had at this hotel, and it was because of the staff. The hotel is nice, well kept and clean. It's not a 5 star hotel, its older, and smaller than newer resorts, but the views of downtown Puerto Vallarta are amazing. Back to the staff, Jose Luis and his staff around the pool and beach are absolutely amazing. I specifically mention Jose because he went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our group felt taken care of. If you are looking for a great time, at great price, I highly recommend visiting Jose and his staff at Sunscape Puerto Vallarta. Thank you for a great experience!

Bartenders, wait staff and maids were great. It is close to the airport and was easy to book a car service. The entire place is so hot and humid (even in most places to eat). We had to go to our rooms to be able to cool down. It was difficult to be able to get a room next to family even with requesting multiple times the past 6 months. We paid for a dining experience (extra add on) and were given pork when we were told we would be given ribeyes. It was incredibly awkward and annoying to deal with. The chefs were rude and it made us regret doing any add on with the hotel. They did make up for it with a beautiful dinner the following night but it felt so sketchy that it even happened in the first place. There were several kind workers there, but we would not come back to this resort unfortunately.

It was amazing there! Alexander at the front desk was awesome. He was very helpful and informative in assisting my group I was with. I would solely go back for him! Armando and Erick both were an amazing contribution to the entertainment staff. Leo was also very welcoming whenever we first arrived! The resort had lots of different activities. There was water basketball, volleyball, karaoke, live bands, and different types of shows for different nights. The beach access was perfect. (And you didn’t have to pay for the umbrellas or seats). I was also able to get a massage. My room was cleaned daily and they always did a good job. Majority of the food was really good. The only thing I will say is if you don’t like kids, I wouldn’t pick this as there were a bunch of kids. I was also able to book an excursion in the hotel and it was very easy and organized. Definitely well worth the money.

The resort was okay, however, the pictures, activities, and bars listed are not accurate. All in all, we enjoyed our vacation, but the facility did not live up to the advertisement at all. The pool bar was good and the service was good, so it was not the workers fault. They can only do what they can do. They were all mostly good in their kindness and service. The overall facility was not in great shape had no wow factor at all. The veranda mentioned in photos has maybe 10 cheap and uncomfortable chairs on the whole thing. The barefoot grill was nonexistent and the Tiki taco was not open when it was stated to be and when we did finally get to eat there, we were not at all impressed. The Italian restaurant was good, however, good luck getting in there. They front desk person was not at all friendly as well. There was absolutely no adult activities the entire time and the family activities scheduled did not always happen. There was a magic show supposed to happen which never did, I guess the show was the disappearing act was all that we could surmise. Our room smelled strongly of mildew the entire time and the air conditioner did not always work. Other guests complained that there refrigerators did not work. The rooms in the pictures do not at all look like the rooms that we had, even though we supposedly had the deluxe partial ocean view king size. They were very dingy, not well lit, and the balcony was not at all open and inviting. Our refrigerator was never restocked, even when we asked for it. We always left tips in our room for the cleanup which did not happen daily. The tips were gone, but the room not cleaned or the floor swept. If you check out at 12, then forget getting anything to eat or drink after as they cut you off right then irregardless of what time you leave the facility for your flight. The most aggravating part was the reserved lounge chairs from 7 am or earlier. People would reserve a chair for the entire family even a 2 year old with an adult lounge chair and by 8 or 9 am you could not get a seat at the pool, the only pool they had. This was posted that could not be done, yet it always happened and the rule was not enforced. While we were there the elevator broke down with people trapped inside and when they finally got out they shut they had to shut the elevators down of course. There was constant construction going on and the facility was run down. The Wifi was horrible and mostly did not work. We will not be referring this place or ever go back. There are too many other places that are much better.

Honestly…if you want convenience with a family this is NOT it. They were super stingy on bottled water and we had to go to a specific counter to get it and they would only give us the number of bottles per people in our party. They have a huge break with almost no food options from 12-1:30 and you can’t take food out of the restaurant when they are open to eat in your room but room service takes at least 45 minutes. The rooms were out dated and ours smelled musty and mildewy. The view is gorgeous and our child had fun but frankly it wasn’t relaxing for us as parents. Unfortunate!!!

Uhhh that is so old😬 and exactly not looking like on the pictures.. I am sooo mad...not well maintained, and not clean, the walls are peeled.. the food is delicious, but when we saw how they wash wine glasses .... it's a nightmare. I do not know if I can still drink something in this hotel and I do not advise you. the waiter just soaked dirty glasses once in an ice bucket, into which soapy water with a lot of foam was poured, and he began to rub this dirty glass in soap with a towel🤢 so after 15 minutes he had a tray with shiny glasses .. I looked on my glass of mimosa .. and I began to feel sick at the thought of soapy water in a bucket .. We paid $4000 and so disappointed, not recommended for sure.

Had an encounter with the staff because I had slipped my non-inclusive bracelet off in the pool and forgot to put it back on before I went to the bar to get a glass of ice to drink the beers we had brought from our room when two of the workers claimed I was trying to get the free drinks that come with the all-inclusive package when I was just getting a cup of ice. We ended up having to go to the front desk and they insisted I pay $150 for removing the bracelet when their contract says you pay the fee if bracelets are cut off or lost. The two workers had phones of my family and I by the pool on their PERSONAL cellphones and claimed it was part of “security and safety” we now feel very VERY creeped out and uncomfortable that they have photos of us on their personal phones. Since then we have not gone back to the pool and have rarely stayed at the resort during the day. Staff is very rude and are even worse if they know you speak Spanish
