If you are reading these reviews don’t be impacted by what they have to say. If you are reading reviews about people being “disappointed” it’s probably because they complain about everything and expect 1000% service. This hotel was not only great, but the staff is what makes this place worth it. They are very accommodating, caring, and will put your needs first. This hotel was very secure and the staff really knows how to make this feel like a true “vacation spot”. I 1000% recommend this spot because of how amazing it is. Some pros: you are close by to so much, food is good, great pools, awesome beach and with great reliable vendors, and very kind people overall. PS… if you’re gonna complain about the construction that is being done , I recommend not coming here. I personally don’t think it’s loud at all and the workers are respectful about space..at the end of the day they are constructing to make this place better.

We have been coming here for years, and we loved the hotel. The pool area and staff are still amazing, and also the best view. We were very excited to hear we had a renovated room. Unfortunately, the renovated room was not done very well. It was getting a bit tired before, but it was still really good quality and had lots of character. We feel it's lost its beautiful quality charm to have been replaced by cheap, not well done renovated rooms. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Came to Puerto Vallarta last minute for some rest and relaxation before the busy holiday season at work. Ended up booking the Westin last minute as well with my points. Very affordable on points too. Easy check in process. Very clean and safe. Staff was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. The only negative is this little step up in the bathroom. You don’t know it’s there at first so in the middle of the night I took a dive onto the floor haha. All good though. Just keep an eye out. Also location is great. Close to airport if you don’t want to be far and right next to the marina. Lots of shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Also they gave me a complimentary Covid test to return to the US. 👍🏼👍🏼

The stated or posted $158 USD is a lie… I was charged approximately $256 USD per night. I was told it was their taxes and fees. I did not care for or trust the front desk staff after our initial check in. They filled the tiny refrigerator with things they want you to drink so they can charge you even more. Or maybe that was part of the scam to charge more money for my room, I doubt I’ll ever find out There was no room for my own drinks. Bathroom only has one plug-in outlet and no fan. Shutters in bathroom open easily and it has gaps so privacy is lost. The beach access is very minimal and the ocean water is milky brown at that location. If you want cleaner looking ocean water check a satellite view prior to selecting a hotel, as a large area is brown. The pool water was almost too warm to feel refreshing. The bed was okay, but pillows awful. I bought my own pillow. To top it off I woke up with a giant cockroach running around my room. I heard other guests mention they were spraying for bugs in an occupied room on another floor. So floors 5 & 7 clearly have a problem. The trip was so disappointing we left early. The best thing about the hotel, aside from the initial aesthetic appeal, was the Bellman. He was very attentive, kind, and polite. I included a picture from the air of the different brown color of the water from where we stayed versus the blue water.

We stayed here for our last trip to Puerto Vallarta, and it was glorious. The staff were all amazing. Seriously, top tier individuals working here. The grounds were beautiful and the facilities were great. This hotel has been around for a while, and you see signs of its age here and there, but it doesn't make it any less of a great experience. Highly recommend.

We traveled to the Westin as a couple to attend a family wedding. We were immediately disappointed upon arrival. The concierge incorrectly booked our reservation so we had no room in the wedding block and the wedding block rate was NOT honored. Being an Elite Marriott member this was extremely disappointing compared to the countless other Marriott’s we have stayed over the years. In addition, the noisy construction and maintenance (power washing the pool during peak hours) made it difficult to enjoy the relaxation and catch up with family and friends. Lastly, the morning after the wedding, the fire alarm went off twice during the 5 AM hour and not one employee could provide an explanation. When we checked out we were informed, the fire alarm system was being “tested” at that time. The hotel is a quick 10 minute ride from the airport. That’s about the only thing that was convenient. All in all, I’d recommend booking elsewhere.

Great beachside resort close to the airport. Air Conditioned rooms. 2 pools, one for the kids and activities and one for everyone. Great staff throughout the hotel especially the staff that took care of drink and food orders by the pool. Excellent food at the steak and seafood restaurant and by the pool. Spa services were more expensive than stateside spas so we did not get any services One of the days we were there the cruise ship passengers were on-site and some guests were disruptive at the pool. Nice to be able to walk on the beach and dip your feet in the ocean and watch the sunset. As to be able to set up room charging so you don't need your wallet or cash while you're on the property. Overall this is a great resort and I would return.

Beautiful place. Drinks and food was notably good. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Had a couple of electrical malfunctions in the room but they were attended to swiftly. Room service was quite expensive and I wasn't notified that it wasn't included in my all inclusive package, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered.

My room wasn’t ready at 3pm and I had to wait. I understand things happen, but I would expect a bottle of water to be offered while waiting. When I was able to check in, the Front Desk Agent said my room number aloud. When I went to my room, the key didn’t work and I had to return to the desk. Also, as a recommendation, you should post that the hotel is under construction as well as show photos of what the improvements will look like when finished. I was glad to see they were investing as the hotel is dated. The Spa and service in the spa is excellent.

Trip with no kids, have all adult children. Stepped up on hotel stars due to single room vs 2. So many choices of hotels and I hit the bulls eye for what we were looking for. The FOOD was great all around, buffet and the 2 sit down restaurants. Breakfast was included and it was a full buffet not continental muffins. Service was great, they start knowing you by name. (Liliana making bomb omelets, Jorge, and the rest of the staff) Pool is a nice size with only being 5’ deep. Beach is a little muddy but that holds true for most of the bay. Lots of services around the Marina, good yachts to see, food and Bliss Massage. Rooms are a little outdated but they were built with quality. Will come again.

We visited in a day pass. What a lovely property. The architecture from afar seems ominous but once you’re on property is very warm and welcoming. There are several employees that should be commended. Ms Adriana who tended to the cabanas - what a hustler a true go getter. Emma is the spa have the worlds best massage as did Pearl I heard. Great place. Well run. We will be back.

Everything about the hotel is okay, the view is great, looking down at the pool. There are only 2 chairs on the balcony, but space for four people. They did include a very thick blanket, and put it back up each time. I wouldn't say it's an issue, but it's 70 degrees outside at night (it's very hot). The fan in our room doesn't work, and there the shower stall is open, no doors. The beach isn't the best, just a very small beach, around 400 feet in area. On the good side, the beds are comfortable, the hotel itself is very close to downtown Puerto Vallarta, around 15 minutes away. The pools are decent, two pools, a smaller and more shallow pool, a bigger and deeper pool. There are two restaurants and a lot of lounge chairs at the pools and beach. Overall, a good experience, a very nice stay!

What a great resort! Not only is the hotel laid out well, the staff are absolutely fantastic! Whether you need restaurant recommendations, activities to do or just want to hang out at the hotel, the service is top notch. Special thank you to Manuel in activities, Carlos and the rest of the staff at the pool, the wonderful staff at the spa and of course Adan, Pedro, Ricardo and the boys at the concierge desk. Thank you all! You are all so friendly and welcoming and it made our stay that much better! I highly recommend everyone check this place out!

I wanted to write a review to thank EVERYONE at the Westin (Adan & the bellmen, Pedro & Eduardo by the pool, Alejandro & Adriana at the Pergolas, the front desk staff, the wonderful spa massage therapists & staff) for the absolutely wonderful vacation. Especially during a pandemic when it seems difficult or unnecessary to travel, everyone at the Westin was able to help us feel safe and cared for. I appreciated the open layout of the hotel and the ease of access from the airport. The pool and beach area are GORGEOUS and wonderful for safe relaxation. Testing for departure back to the states is easy (if you are smart and plan ahead). This was a much needed vacation. I keep telling all my coworkers and friends up here in grey Seattle that they need to get down to the Westin in Vallarta ASAP. My partner and I loved it so much, we plan to be back as soon as we can.

I absolutely loved this place. The food in the resort restaurant was amazing. The drinks were also great. I would definitely go back just to have a nice quiet vacation. If you're looking to party hard at the resort with loud music, this might not be the place for you. It was clean and quiet, and the resort landscape was what sold me. I drank my coffee watching the ocean waves. The pools are well kept, and you might get random visits from the local Iggys that live on the property. Did I mention there was a Starbucks on my floor. So I would just wake up and walk out my room down the hall to Starbucks. Great service and friendly staff. There is a great Italian restaurant across the street. I was hesitant to try Italian food in Mexico, but it did not disappoint.

We have returned here because it's wonderful. The combination of features make this place magical. Everyone makes you feel welcome every minute of your stay, the food is excellent, and the spa massage is out of this world. The pools are delightful and make you look forward to returning from your adventure and getting back poolside. Do yourself a favor and visit.

This is a Huge Hotel! Even the pool area can be confusing with rock facades and islands covering a giant pool! It was very beautiful. The beach was amazing, so lovely to watch the sunset. Service was excellent, they accommodated everything we needed. I liked the rooms, and the amenities they had to offer. Great place to stay for a vacation!

Everything was perfect!! Was able to get upgraded to a suite as a Platinum member. Food was delicious with exceptional service, several pools to chose from so there was not a feeling of overcrowding. Breakfast buffet is not to be missed. Poolside and beach service was great. Will definitely return again!

Some good parts about it are a good amount of amenities and the service was good. The beach equipment closes at noon, so be sure to get those rentals in the morning. Some down sides were that it is an older resort with a good amount of maintenance issues. The website has a shuttle listed, but we were informed no shuttle exists and we would have to pay the $20 cab from the airport. Come to find out, as we pulled in we saw a Westin branded shuttle bus parked in the side of the parking lot. Would be nice to have this info updated online.

This is a nice resort! Located near the tail end of the marina block of hotels. I think immediately heading in, you can tell that this is an older building, and it is showing its age. The staff were all very polite. What I didn't like about the resort fee is that some of the benefits are 'per stay' even though you pay the resort fee 'per night'. Kind of cheap if you ask me. The room itself had a nice view, but there is a definite musty smell, especially when the ac kicked on. The fridge in our room was also not working. The balcony area is clearly not cleaned property and you could still see remnants of food or other junk stuck to the furniture. And there's a step onto the balcony, so watch out, especially little kids. Bathroom setup is also a bit weird, the window is one of those folded wooden windows, and it doesn't close fully, so light and sound escape easily. This is a great hotel for bringing little kids though, because of the beach area and the activities. Our son made a friend and they had fun all over the resort for the entire time we were there basically. The beach is also enclosed by some rocks, so the waves are not as big. You could see some people snorkeling there. They also have daily activities for families and kids, including a pinata party, which is the highlight of any kids day. Sadly the food they serve was average at best. The pizza was basically raw, and same with the nachos. Just not very good at all. The burger was okay.

The resort is ok. + wonderful view, clean, friendly staff, not crowded. - there is only one restaurant to have a breakfast or dinner. And the restaurant is overpriced with a very ordinary menu. - Spa is very expensive. I had a massage in this hotel and then found out the next hotel with just a few steps always from the beach area has even better massage for third of the price with the same cleanliness and hospitality. - And I would recommend to take a pick of all your receipts. I’m the final invoice I noticed they charged twice more tips a couple of times. I spent about 20 min on the reception to find out they made a mistake and fix it. Very unpleasant experience in the end of the stay.

Outstanding resort with a perfect location. The grounds are well maintained with many staff always there to help should you have an issue. Breakfast food is excellent with lot of choices. Check in process was really smooth. Though the place was going thru renovation, we did not get bothered at all. Noise was minimal and only during the day. Interestingly we had hurricane Lidia happening our first full day here. Some services were shut down naturally but staff really helped to make us feel safe. Fortunately no major damage was done with only few tree branches falling into the garden. In normal circumstances this would be an awesome place to have a vacation.

Amazing staff made this the perfect stay. The amenities, location, food, accommodations were all above expectations. Very close to the marina for a nice walk, which has great food and shops. We took our 4 year old for her birthday, talked with Mario at the concierge desk, he made sure her experience wqs the best. He made sure to set up balloons, decorations, and a Disney themed cake for our arrival. You can tell he loves his job and was happy to help. He offered the suite upgrade at a reasonable price, we were happy to go for the upgrade. Beautiful views everywhere and easy access to the beach. We will be coming back to this beautiful resort.

Truly loved our honeymoon here! Super friendly staff, reasonable prices and well kept resort. It was very nice to be able to choose between the pool and the ocean each day. There was mainly adults there when we went mid December but looked like families were coming later on.

The location is great for relaxation away from any daily cares, but it's about 30 minutes by cab to the Malecon and Zona Romantica. The staff was great, the food was generally very good, and the rooms and overall property were r all I could have wanted. I'll go here again. Good GF options in the daily breakfast buffet.

Gorgeous grounds and great service! I love visiting this resort! The Aqua Fitness instructor goes above and beyond to make the experience fantastic! The gym and spa are also extremely updated and beautiful. I've been returning for 3 years and will continue to recommend!

The hotel is under renovation and the website fails to mention that. The rooms are old and dated not a vacation feel good feeling. It is pretty disappointing for a Westin hotel to have such awful looking rooms. However the property itself is beautiful and quite. It is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful pools. Very conveniently located across from the marine with lots of restaurants and shopping options. There is a convenient store 0XXO located across the hotel as well.

Unfortunately there was construction going on during our visit. The constant hammering was crazy especially on a holiday weekend. It sounded next door to my room. I had to call to the front desk at 8pm to ask what time the hammering stops. They said they got a late start so they are working late but would stop now but it did not. It continued until 9pm then back again in the morning it started up waking everyone. I told the front desk manager. She felt bad and offered meals at the restaurant. Unfortunately the vouchers had already been used so they were not accepted by the restaurant, so i paid. I returned to the registration to let her know and she took the coupons back and gave me another voucher that was for something way less, a poke bowl. I gave the coupons back to her and explained that it was not nice for her to try to make good on the construction noise by giving something and then taking it back. They want me to contact expedia where I paid for the hotel. So im on hold while expedia calls the hotel and the hotel lied and said at registration everyone is told the hotel is under construction and you can get a full refund and go to another hotel if you like. They never told me that. And the hotel says expedia should have notified me it was under renovation construction. Then expedia says its the hotels responsibility to update their ad. It's unprofessional.

I love this hotel, my favorite in P Vallarta so far. The food is excellent, the service in every single spot (restaurant, bars, reception, room service, house keeping, etc) is SPECTACULAR. At the restaurant, for example, the waiters adapt to your orders and find a way to fulfill them. The rooms are nicely and well equipped, bed is so comfy, sheets are clean and well done. Not sure if every room but we had a fridge. The pool and beach are clean and they have a tent for you to get towels and the people attending here are really nice. The spa is really nice, you have to book previously your appointment for massage or treatment. We always book here, I strongly recommend this resort. Puerto Vallarta is waiting for you and Westing Resort is ready to make you feel welcome.

  • 5/5 Ricky J. 2 years ago on Google
All the food is reasonably priced, nice spa, gorgeous grounds, excellent service. It’s quieter than the Marriott. The only negative was I think the rooms could use an upgrade to feel up to modern standards. But overall it’s a very nice place to stay for a few days.

Staff was amazing friendly, outgoing, very pleasant to interact with, nice pool, nice beachfront view, location is quiet and calm, cute iguanas everywhere. Activities during the day were great. Volleyball in pool was fun! Why 4 star: Rooms need updating, we were at a junior suite with a whirlpool, it was large and AC was nice but doesn’t feel very modern. Renovations was a bit loud in our rooms every morning around 8am. Open concept means it’s pretty hot once you exit your rooms, apart from the pool, other areas was really warm in October. Overall aesthetic was old.

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin. The room was comfortable and clean. My son thoroughly enjoyed the pool he didn’t want to get out it. They have multiple pools that are warm and large. You might occasionally see an iguana hanging out by the pool. There is beach access from the hotel but the water was a little rough so we decided not to get in but you can rent jet skis there. The breakfast buffet was delicious. They had a lot of different options from oatmeal to beef broth soup or fresh omelettes and waffles. It’s walking distance to the Marina and about a 15 minute drive from a the Malecon. All of the staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay

10/10 for the entire staff. I cannot say enough kind things about how friendly and attentive they all were. Unfortunately, minus a star for the hotel rooms. We encountered a cockroach in our bathrobes, and this is after we had already switched rooms due to finding mold in the other. Not a fault of the hotel, but we also had to check our balcony jacuzzi daily for bats and guano. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take advantage of the jacuzzi because of this. The hotel is also half the size you expect it to be as it was split into another hotel; they put up a makeshift divider to separate the resorts which cuts into the pool. However, the pool was still nice and the shrimp tacos are a must try. I think we had it almost every day because it was so delicious.

Enjoyed the stay and the relative calmness of the place. Excited to see what the remodel looks like, they started today when I was there. But older but still good Westin property, theyve broken away from the time share next door, so that was nice to not have to deal with that. Very friendly, tranquilo place and you cant beat the Marina for a low key but good time.

Our stay at the Westin Resort & Spa was very memorable. It was walking distance to the Marina which has many restaurants and stores to explore. Check in process was super easy and we got a great room on 9th floor which had a spectacular ocean view. Resort is a little dated but very well maintained and clean. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Concierge Pedro gave us good advice on local taxi fares which helped us save some money as most of the drivers give tourists inflated prices. He also provided a resort umbrella in the chance of rain, when we were away from the resort. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food. We were impressed by Teresa who always remembered our preferences and greeted us every morning with a smile. Daily housekeeping services were clean and organized and we never feared for any loss of our personal items. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Westin and we recommend the resort to family and friends. Thank you Westin and hope to see you again!

We stayed here in Westin for 3 nights, and overall it was an amazing experience. Employees here are incredibly sweet and they’re really thoughtful. Chef Martinez came and asked us if our stay was okay, and talked with us as well. Food was amazing, we all enjoyed the food. Although it may be a little on the pricey side, food was worth the price. Rooms were amazing, I really enjoyed this stay. Only little recommendation I have is to update the rooms to more up to date styles. Overall I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay next to the beach here in Vallarta!
