Clean, comfortable place with incredible views. If you can get a deal, snag a room. Don’t be fooled by the listed amenities. The “gym” is a single elliptical machine, and the “spa” has no specialty staff. Avoid the restaurant at all costs. Many menu items are inedible, and the staff takes every opportunity to rack up the bill (I asked for a cup of coffee and was served a $135 carafe. The front desk refused to correct this error). The place is nice, but the staff do not have good intentions.

It was great until it wasn’t. Last night here someone went into my room and stole all my cash. The kicker is there is a camera right outside my room and they “can’t” or won’t access it. I feel like I was watched to know when to go in.

We really enjoyed staying here! The room was clean and bright. I felt very safe and welcome. Be aware that you will need to take Ubers or taxis into town as the hotel is up in more of a neighborhood area. We preferred to take Ubers as we didn’t have to negotiate price and they were cheaper than the taxis. The neighborhood around the hotel is beautiful though, so definitely plan to take a stroll. As other reviewers have noted, the restaurant is nothing to write home about. Save that money and buy extra tacos in town.

Easily will come back here. Everyone from Eduardo to Jorge to Luis are just amazing people. If you like a tranquil place to stay, it's this. I stayed at the Tamayo room and every detail blew my mind. The place is a piece of art. I enjoyed the intimate feel of this place and really gives a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle. It is a romantic space but also works well for Solo travellers!

Very nice place, in an excellent location in Puerto Vallarta, I could ensure that it is in the best location, the area is very quiet and the neighbors are very pleasant. The hotel is located in a high part of the city so it has an impressive view of the sea, the rooms have very good space and a nice decoration, the most important thing is that the bed is very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is very delicious and all the staff working on site are very friendly.

Great boutique hotel on top of a winding hill, which is a great view of the ocean, but not for walking down cobblestone streets. You will need transportation as this place isn't the best for walking given its location, but it's a $5 Uber ride to the nightlife and restaurants. If you want a place not in the heart of the nightlife, but close enough buy car, this is the place for you. There isn't an elevator and some rooms are located multiple steps down, so this may be an issue if you have heavy luggage. The rooms are as pictured, bed was on the firm side. I would definitively stay here again.

We love this place, the best holidays we ever had. The service is amazing, thanks to Eduardo Perez Sanchez who took care of us like if we were his parents. The views from the rooms and the restaurant/pool are perfect. I highly recommend this beautiful, relaxing, luxurious but still with a personal individual attention. We will be back.

Besides the view, I was not a fan of this place. There was no one upon entering and the staff isn't friendly, besides the bartender. We stayed at 4 different hotels in the surrounding areas and this one particularly lacked the customer service. Notes were left of a birthday and there was no acknowledgement of the occasion. On top of the poor customer service, the AC and fan in the room didn't even work and we were offered a downgrade into another room without a price adjustment. Overall, wouldn't recommend, there's plenty of other hotels with better customer service, and a better view that would offer a better experience.

Great hotel for chill intimate experience. Views are amazing. Decor is beautiful. I had renal car, but did Uber into town since cheap and easy and didn't need to worry about drinking and driving. Stayed in Xcholoate. Had private deck with 2 loungers, coffee pot, espresso machine and mini fridge.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it! Would definitely stay again. The views are amazing from every area of the hotel. We were weary of the food after reading reviews that said it wasn’t great, but we had no issues at all. The prices seemed fine for being in a city and every meal we ordered was satisfying. We also liked that there were enough spaces within the hotel to find privacy: there is the lower level with a small pool, the main level with the bar and pool, and an upper level with a hot tub… all with great views. There are no elevators, so be ready to increase your step count. Our room was wonderful with views for a postcard. The cleaning service was adequate as was the room service. As for the location, as other reviews have stated, it’s high on a hill and a bit isolated from the rest of the city. We loved this aspect, but we had a rental car for easy transportation. Without one, it might have been tricky. There is parking right out front and we found the whole area to be safe and quiet. If you don’t have a rental car, you will probably need to plan to rely on cabs, which appeared to be common among other guests, and we noted there to always be several around the area.

We stumbled across this place by accident and now cannot stay away! We came back for our mini moon and it was a great choice! The views are amazing, the staff is incredible, and the peace and quiet of this hotel is tough to beat. Eduardo and Carlos made our trip even more relaxing with their prompt customer service. Be sure to as Eduardo to make you a Paloma - they’re the best in town!

TERRIBLE- Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Our experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful. Despite having a confirmed room reservation, we arrived only to find out that the hotel was overbooked. The management's response to this situation was nothing short of a disaster. I strongly advise considering a more reliable and slightly pricier option for your accommodation needs.

We stayed here recently for a longer weekend trip. Our stay was excellent. The room was clean and cozy and all the facilities were well maintained. We had one minor accident, unrelated to the hotel, where we needed some first aid supplies and the gentleman on staff that evening was friendly, super helpful and brought us more than enough to take care of everything. Would definitely recommend this spot!

I found this place online by accident. I read the reviews and saw the prices and I went for it. The views are stunning, and rooms are large (see the pictures). This is a very romantic hotel for couples and everything was perfect and well maintained. I must have helped that the hotel was not full and the area was very quiet, our stay was very tranquil. The staff was helpful and unintrusive. They even helped us from being ripped off by the taxi driver. The downsides to this place are obvious. The hotel is a serious walk-up hill from the water, and there are no other points of interest walking distance nearby ( other restaurants, stores, clubs, etc). Or that could be a huge plus.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Patio Azul Luxury Hotel Boutique in Puerto Vallarta, and I have to say, it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning views - they were some of the best I've ever seen in this part of Mexico. The hotel is perched on a hillside, overlooking the city and the ocean, and it's truly breathtaking. But the views were just the beginning. The rooms at Patio Azul are so tastefully decorated, each one unique and designed according to a theme. I loved how each room had its own personality, and it really made my stay feel special. I found myself looking forward to spending time in my room, whether it was on my balcony or just lounging on the bed. Of course, there's plenty to do outside of the rooms, too. The hotel has several patios and pools to choose from, and there's always a delicious drink or snack available from the hotel's bar and restaurant. What I loved most, though, was the feeling that I could escape the crowds and not be in the center of tourism. It was a tranquil retreat that allowed me to truly unwind and relax. One evening, my AC stopped working, which was a bit of a setback. But the staff was incredibly accommodating and worked quickly to fix the issue. By the next day, everything was back up and running smoothly. It was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect stay. Overall, I absolutely loved my time at the Patio Azul Luxury Hotel Boutique. The stunning views, tasteful decor, and tranquil atmosphere made it a vacation to remember. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway in Puerto Vallarta.

The front desk gentleman that works the evening shift was so very sweet and very accommodating to my specific needs. He's so interested in the needs of his guests and I give him a 100% for his outstanding amount of empathy and compassion!!! Thx Luis!! You're the best!!

My wife and I stayed in the Jaguar room - so cool that the rooms all have themes ! The view was breathtaking, the service was excellent and informal - with charm. The environment made it easy to socialize and enjoy some special moments in The pool or hot tubs - overlooking a gorgeous coastline to the south of Puerto Vallarta. This place is a gem and a bargain. Highly recommend !

My wife and I stayed five nights at Patio Azul. We had a wonderful experience. The rooms were huge and very clean. The staff were super friendly. It is in a great location within walking distance to down town Puerto Vallartas restaurants, areas to shop, and the beautiful beaches. The pool area and the restaurant had a spectacular view of the entire bay. Cannot wait to go back!

Unbelievable spot! First, on one of the highest points in the area overlooking the ocean, the views are dependent. Whoever was in charge of the interior decoration did a phenomenal job, right yet settle with a beautiful nod to Mexican styles and textures. The pools are wonderful and the food is also amazing.

I’m so happy I found this place. It’s very quiet and peaceful, up a windy hill and next to other getaways. The whole place was very clean and charming. The bartender made better drinks than on the boardwalk. Thank you to the superb staff who made my stay extra special.

Amazing location and views, good prices for food and drink considering that it’s pretty isolated in terms of location. There is a bus that goes to town from the bottom of the mini mountain. But the staff at the hotel are amazing, so helpful in recommendations for places and beaches to visit. Will definitely be coming back sometime soon!

Really loved my stay at Hotelito Patio Azul - super chill vibe, comfy rooms, and the sea view from the terrace is just awesome. Totally coming back here next time!

Service was excellent. The views are awesome. Rooms have technical issues that need fixing. The hotel was pretty quiet but next to the kitchen. This made mornings really noisy. Make sure you don’t get this room and you’ll be fine.

Such a lovely boutique hotel with a wonderful view! I've now stayed there twice. The rooms are finished nicely and have great views of the bay. It's also a small hotel, and I appreciate that there aren't many guests. It makes for a much more relaxing, private experience away from the hustle and bustle of PV.

This place met expectations! Tony the manager was kind, friendly and so accommodating. The staff were all super friendly. Views are spectacular and the Hotel offered peace and relaxation on every level with its quaint deep blue offset by white railings and a touch of grass rooftops. Location was good as you could walk into Town or take an Uber. Highly recommend.

We love everything about this hotel. Quiet and very clean room. We had the best dining service from Tony. The only regret is we didn't stay here long enough!

The view is amazing up here. Location is perfect, 1km from the Zona Romántica (old town city centre) 40-50 pesos if you take Uber. Room was not super clean but definitely worths what I've paid. Amazing pool and jacuzzi, will come back again next time for sure!

This hotel is beautiful and cozy, you will not regret booking here. It has an amazing view to the ocean, it is small I think you can get to know mostly everyone during your stay. Staff service was amazing, the restaurant waiter Eduardo went above and beyond. This is a place you will never want to leave, we had an amazing experience.

From the earthquake I was displaced from my home. I booked this hotel online. Upon my arrival the front desk girl was nowhere to be found. When she finally showed up, she was on speaker phone with her boss having a melt down over the cartel (i can understand spanish). Then she couldn't find my booking and had another melt down. Then asked me to pay through wire transfer to her bank account because of the cartel. I was exhausted and needed a trauma break from life, she was the worst customer service representative at a hotel I have ever experienced. She needs to find a new career path. Something that she does not require to be of service to the public. Other than the front desk girl, the stay has been fine. Room is clean, food is good, views are nice.

Super clean! Great staff! Amazing views from any room. We enjoyed our week there. Nice walk to town, Ubers are cheap to take from the hotel even during surge pricing it’s not bad. Drinks and guacamole are great but the other food is meh. This hotel with its views and staff are well worth it. Every room is different can’t wait to go back and see what I get this time.

We really loved our experience. The hotel is located in the most beautiful area of the city and it’s also near 3 beaches. We took Uber to go everywhere as they are really inexpensive (5CAD downtown), but otherwise it’s just a 30 min walk. The room was very clean and charming. We had the most beautiful view of our window. Cleaning was done everyday. The pool was nice and clean too. The staff was helpful and so nice! I also enjoyed that it was so calm and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a terrific week in PV staying at Patio Azul. It’s set back about 5-7 minutes from the south side of town and it’s really quiet and relaxing. I have to give a huge shout out to Eduardo and Jorge who ran the restaurant and bar near the pool. They both went above and beyond in service and made the experience 5 star. Jorge brought his personal Bose speaker to the pool each day and allowed my party to use it. Eduardo is such a hard worker and remembered every detail of what we ordered each day. We loved the rooms we all stayed in, had a great view of the ocean and mountains. Room service was very friendly. I loved that his hotel has WhatsApp Business as it made it so easy to pre-arrange taxis or ask simple questions without having to go to the front desk. Highly recommend this hotel for your relaxing experience in PV!

Amazing hotel! Definitely worth staying there. The staff is really helpful and attentive. The food and drinks in the restaurant are really good. Plus is also the aspect that there are no kids, so grown-ups can enjoy their vacation fully.
