My mom and I spent 12 days at the Occidental Royal Level and again the customer service was impeccable! This was my fourth time at the resort but it was my mother’s first time, and she was amazed how much care they had with all our requests and our enjoyment. By the time we left, she knew most of the staff’s name! Starting with our room cleaning service, we can’t thank enough Nelisse for being so good at her job! She was always in a great mood and always asked if there was anything else that we wanted done for the next day! Just incredible! The Royal Level Reception has the best customer service staff i ever encountered in a resort! Maciele and Victoria are one of a kind!! I just love the fact that all the four times i have been a guest there, they were there! They remembered me by name and even remembered some of my requests from previous stays! I loved that kind of dedication! At the dedicated Royal Level Restaurant, we want to thank everyone, specially, Diego, Wendy, Juan, Hipolito, Jeremy and Zuleida for being so attentive and efficient! At the Arena Beach Lounge, we cant praise Francisco Figueroa and Willy Bruno enough! They are great with all the drinks requests and they kept the bar and jacuzzi area always clean of sand and always had a smile in their faces! Out of the Royal Level, we met some incredible staff that we wanted to thank: Erika, that served us at the main buffet on two occasions and also Jessica Pinelo that was always receiving us on the Specialty Restaurants for our nightly dinner! She was fantastic, and i wish i could see her at the Royal Level next time! Her customer service will make the Royal Level even more enjoyable! I cant wait for next year’s vacation!! Renata

This is a wonderful resort! The beach was incredible, and the bartender at the royal club bar was attentive to detail. If you look carefully at night, you can see crabs along the walkways. The royal club restaurant was very nice, and had different unique dishes every day. The weekend as one might imagine is super busy and packed with locals, so plan accordingly! The room was very clean and the cleaning staff did an excellent job keeping things tidy. The power in the room went out at midnight once, but wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Juan in the First Club was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. Overall, I really liked it and can't wait to be back.

This was a decent experience. The views were spectacular and the beach was right next to the hotel, so it’s walking distance. They had a couple different pools to choose from, and one with a bar! Since kids are permitted at this resort I wouldn’t recommend this to couples. The service could’ve been better. I noticed only some of the workers were friendly and hospitable towards guests. I would also recommend this to people who are fluent in Spanish, since there’s a difference in treatment towards those who don’t speak English. The food could have been better, but the fruit, bread, rice and beans are always prepped and cooked to perfection. It’s on the cheaper side price-wise. I would look into other resorts before choosing to come here.

The staff was amazing & so welcoming. Food was amazing & the restaurant variety was great! Love the new renovations & definitely will be coming back with my family. Everyone at the bar was super attentive & never had to worry about asking for a thing. Great staff & beautiful place. I love that they also have so many different pools & the beach.

I give this hotel a 10/10. The room was very very clean and spacious. The outside view is unbeatable. The pool, the bars, and restaurants were amazing. I like how easy it was to access the beach. The staff were always on top of it. We had a small issue when we arrived at the hotel but they did a magnificent job of accommodating to our needs. The only thing I didn’t like is that the club was not open apparently because of the pandemic. I am definitely planning on returning to this hotel.

Nice resort, good beach and overall good for the family. Food can be improved. One of the most disappointing thing was that out of 4 nights of stay, barely managed to get 1 reservation for dinner, even not for the entire group. We had to split into 3 groups at 3 different times so definitely room for improvement with Restaurants offering. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Husband and I will definitely be back to this resort. Every single person we met that worked there was kind, respectful, helpful and always said hello from front desk, servers, housekeepers to groundskeepers. Loved this resort, loved the beach, loved the atmosphere. Other than a few nit picky things (see in below comments), this was a 5 star vacation for us!

2024- Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. After traveling the world (14 countries so far) I can’t honestly say this was BAD. I almost checked out on day ONE. And I should have… The misery I endured was a nightmare. 1. The buffet is a seat yourself but wait on staff for drinks. The staff takes 20 min to make initial contact. There will be no refills, as they only check on you every 30 min or so. Half the time we took our water bottles and utensils with us. It was the only way to have drinks and silverware often times. 2. There are gaps in food availability through out the day. The buffet has hours it’s closed during the day and the snack bar has limited hours- leaving you with only junk food from the gift shop at times. 3. They played Christmas music constantly even though I arrived after Christmas. January and they’re doing piped in Christmas music 4. Room service was abhorrent. Took an hour and a half most of the time and they even forgot to MAKE the order once and that ended up being a 2 hour wait. We called the front desk for more face tissue and toilet paper. Want to guess how long it took to get it? 3 HOURS. And that’s after we called twice more. 5. The vanity in bathroom is small, the lighting is dim, and there is really no good way to apply makeup for events adequately. 6. Unless you go to the swim up bar, the wait for staff to take your order at the bar is also very long- despite eye contact, smiling, and 3 other ppl at the bar. This was my birthday trip (December 30). And it was the worst one I’ve had. Will NEVER use any property under this ownership. I have had better service, food, and accommodations at Holiday Inn. And I don’t have to worry about people trying to sell me something everywhere I walk. AVOID Oddly enough, others who placed honest reviews such as this one were given a generic posted response from management assuring it is being discussed w staff for improved service in the future…. Guess what? I came weeks after a few of those responses to others promising to address the issues- and had the SAME issues they had. Nothing is being addressed. Unless you’re someone impressed with looks of things only- you’ll hate it here

The hotel is beautiful, the location is fantastic, the staff are lovely and friendly, always have a good chat with cappuccino he is a lovely guy and works very hard, always makes us laugh he is a credit to the animation team. The rooms are very spacious and we are having a great time. Highly recommend.

Amazing service and staff. All staff are very friendly, engaging, polite and quick to help solve any issues you have. I felt very safe and well looked after whilst staying here. The rooms are lovely and spacious with ample storage, but had some issues with the toilet but those were resolved quickly. The food is lovely, a great variety of Dominican dishes, fruit and some universal foods. The location is amazing, and safe. There are lots of activities to do at the resort to make sure you have a wonderful time.

Please be aware that I had a negative experience at a hotel in Punta Cana. The hotel had limited food and drink options and the staff was not helpful. It took 20 minutes to receive a cup of coffee during breakfast and despite notifying the front desk twice, the TV and phone in my room did not work for three days. I talked to other people who had similar experience and It seemed that the hotel was more interested in selling their VIP membership than providing good service. I will not be returning to this hotel.

I stayed here last week and felt like it was a really good hotel to stay in. The vibe: This hotel is great for those who are looking for a laid back/chill hotel to stay in. If you are looking for a super fun crowd/party vibe then this is not it. The food: The food was not bad at all, the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet offered a lot of options and good tasting food. I only went to 3 of the restaurants during my time there and they were all really good (I just feel like they needed more waiters, but honestly the service was good enough). Note that for the restaurants you MUST make reservations, so make sure you do that as soon as you check in. The hotel: The hotel offers 3 huge pools one full of people with a bar for drinks, and the other two are for those who want a quiet vibe. The beach connected to the hotel is really really nice, the hotel provides beach chairs that you can lay on. My room was really nice and was always kept clean by house keeping, I give the house keeping team a 5/5 stars. The hotel in my opinion is located in a good safe location, I booked 3 excursions and they were all able to pick me up from this hotel. Entertainment: During the night time there is a fire show near the main lobby which I did not know about until my last night there. Also, around 9:30pm there is a show that they put on each night. I enjoyed the entertainment host, he was really good at being the host and making everyone have a good time, really enjoyed him and his entertainment team. The hotel has a night club that is located outside of the hotel and I only went there once and it was pretty small with not that many people in it. Overall if you're looking for a laid back/chill/clean hotel with good food and a small amount of entertainment, then this hotel is for you. The hotel does a great job at fulfilling its niche, so for what it is I give it a 4.5/5 stars.

Very clean and well taken care of place. All of the entertainment and entertainers brought a lot of good energy and happiness. The food was amazing and so were the people. the beaches are beautiful and such a good place to relax. My last night on Saturday was by far my favorite. there was a live singer by the bar and everyone was dancing. it was a lot of fun. my only concern was the quality of service during reservations with the restaurants. not the best quality service and some people seemed lazy with their customer service. however i would rate this hotel very good overall. also very family friendly. something for everyone to enjoy no matter the age difference. would totally recommend and visit again.

We had a great time here with the family. So many activities for me and my husband and the kids as well. We took advantage of the childcare and the kids had a lot of fun playing with other kids from all around the world! We hung out by the pool and they got a break from the sun. Great food, fun and atmosphere. This is our second visit and we will definitely be back again!

Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly and courteous. Staff are very motivated to get you to participate in excursions and events around the resort. The buffet left a lot to be desired but there was something for everyone. Communication is sometimes hard as not all Staff speak English. Spanish and French seem to be the easiest. Finding a chair at the beach is a battle as most are reserved early. The wifi is also spotty at times. The after hours food and drink are fantastic. The lobby is a wonderful sitting area to play cards or interact. The landscaping was immaculate very well kept. Will definitely come back

Overall, great experience! I absolutely loved it. Staff was very friendly. My room was clean and big, and with a good view. Food was very good, they had all kinds of food. Pools are big enough, and they even have snack bars. What I really loved was the shows they had each night, very entertaining and great for all ages. I was impressed with them. Beach was cleaned and there was always a guard. Would definitely come back!

Really good experience at this resort! The animation is great, the team are funny and nice! It was nice to meet Cappuccino!! I put 4 stars for the service just because it was hard to have some in the buffet but it’s really just because there is a lot of people. The club is nice too! Thank for the week :)

Definitely go for it! I love the royal at Occidental Punta Cana. The suites are gorgeous. It is a hotel within the hotel. It has a private pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant, and beach area. The service is great. Thanks to Ramon, Bonilla, Misael, Masiol, Juana, y Victoria. The Royal is a little more expensive but it is worth every single penny. My favorite parts were to have breakfast outside and to get out of the jacuzzi and walk for lunch only ten steps. Love it!

For the money, this place is hard to beat. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly. Sometimes drinks are hard to get at the bar. The beach bar closes too early. The food is good, just not as much variety as one would like to see. The grounds are kept nice, the beach is great. The front desk is helpful and does their best to address your needs.

It’s a very beautiful place with the sea, spaces to play (football, volleyball, tennis). Several restaurants but the quality of the food is not always top. There are also large swimming pools for proper fun… the rooms are comfortable and clean

I’d give this resort 10/10. The staff at this resort are very kind and will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are clean and there is room service every morning. Lots of good Restaurants to choose from and the pool is very well maintained. Night entertainment is nice. And some Restaurants and bars are open late night until 3 am.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever! The best service came from the my cart guys Julian and Fausto A+ service from them. Food and drinks terrible. Did a VIP tour worst VIP tour Ever the Guy made us walk the whole property once it came time to sale we were so not disgusted with the presentation it was a clear no!when came time for gift for our time the did not hold up to what they promise we got nothing. Spa horrible! A guy sold us a massage package but when I paid I was over charged. When it came time to enjoy the jacuzzi they said it does not get hot because it was near time to close. Bottle prices changed and went up by the day. Food lines were supper Long in the day time and reservation stayed booked up. The best food we had was offsite. They ran out face towels one day and cut up a towel and brought it to me. No one could pay me to revisit this hotel!

This resort had a very nice pool. It was legit walking distance to the beach, but BE AWARE, they do have sand fleas after it rains, which is everyday, so bring your insect repellent. The staff in the main lobby bar and the servers at the buffet were very nice and attentive. They were super chill and fun people. Juan is the man to see for all your excursions and needs. The housekeeping staff did an exceptional job daily during our stay. Please make sure you TIP them. The ONE & ONLY disappointment was the food. We arrived on Sunday and could not make any reservations to any of their restaurants until that Friday. We had to eat in the buffet pretty much everyday, which was repetitive & we got sick of it. I excepted way better food for an all inclusive resort. They do have a pizza place that makes oven brick pizza & that hands down was the best food I ate at this resort. Be aware that you WILL be harassed at the beach by locals trying to make money, whether it's selling you jewelry , hair braiding & even drugs. Just a heads up! It's humid EVERYDAY so don't plan on straightening your hair to all my curly hair ladies! I give the staff FIVE stars , but the food a ONE!

The hotel is just excellent! Firstly, great and helpful staff at the reception (and all other workers also, of course). Our room was exactly the same as in the photos with the great ocean view. The territory is very green and flourishing; everything is so neat, every tree and bush! Starting from the morning, they clean territory from fallen leaves like little bees. There is a problem with seaweed, but that's not the hotel's fault; they do their best to clean the beach. Delicious everyday choice of dishes. Wi-fi was available in all hotel territory. It would be great if visitors could take forks/spoons/coffee/tea by themselves.

SO this review is long overdue! First of all, I would like to say that Esperanza from the kids club was absolutely wonderful! She is such a kind and beautiful soul, and truly an asset to this resort! I hope they realize how absolutely amazing she is!! Overall, the resort was beautiful, it was well taken care of and clean. The staff always did a great job of cleaning the rooms. The food was pretty good, my kids really enjoyed everything that we ate. Overall, I would give it an eight out of 10. Sometimes they would serve fried chicken at lunchtime which we found was a really yummy snack. The homemade pizza and taco bar was amazingggggggg! My only two complaints is maybe a little more entertainment- although they had stuff going on every night maybe a couple extras during the day and kind of get people out and dancing would be great. The second complaint I have is that you need to constantly tip, and I mean constantly! We brought $300 US for tipping and God for bid we didn’t tip one time because we went to the swim up bar and didn’t have a dollar bill on us we would have to wait to be served. I really didn’t like that part since we brought so much money for tipping not to mention all of the gifts that I bought for the locals. Overall, we did have a fantastic trip, if you’re travelling with a family this is a Great resort.

The hotel is beautiful and clean however the housekeeping service not so much. I had to call about 7 times throughout my 4 day stay for towels. We were a room of 3 and they would only give us one towel. When I called for more they would bring it the next day. The food I would give it a 6/10 but the omelette guy a 100/10 he was awesome I wish I remembered his name but he is usually as the first omelette station! I would recommend this place to friends and family but would definitely ask that they up the service for housekeeping a little bit.

The hotel is very beautiful, located on the first beach line. Overall excellent for the price you paid. The beach is the best in the area! Animation team is great: in the morning and evening beach volleyball, dancing, etc. The food is almost the hole day and super tasty and varied. The drinks are better than average (that is unusual for the hotels like that). The swimming pools are the best with the snack bar in the middle. From the minuses: I would enjoy more music in the evening and on the beach.

The beach was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are nice. The rooms are cleaned daily, and they are good about refilling your mini bar with soda. The food is okay. The beach bar has issues with their beer tap pouring very slowly. The bartenders are all friendly. The paella cooked on the beach is wonderful. There are not enough options for shade on the beach or around the pools. They have no issue with you setting up an umbrella of your own.

I stayed at the Occidental with my family for 7 days. The grounds were remarkably clean, the staff is constantly cleaning the premise. The beach is beautiful, very soft sand. The food had lots of variety and the drinks were very strong. The entertainment staff by the beach were exceptional. The rooms are extremely clean. There was live music in the lobby which was very entertaining. I would definitely come back and visit again!

Everyone is so friendly. The food is delicious the drinks (for adults) are on point. This is an overall amazing experience. We had a delayed flight that eventually was canceled until 3 days later and they made the experience 100x better my family and I will be coming back forever ❤️ We made great friends

This was a good place to stay. The beach was clean and the rooms had everything we needed. The maid service was good. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a good deal on an all-inclusive resort. The two things I did not like about this resort was the a al carte restaurants. They have a very poor selection of choices for those who choose vegetarian or vegan. The buffet was the best option for plant options. Secondly, labeling the food on display for the buffet was either vague or not in English. Would still recommend this place for there was good service in many other areas of the hotel.

If you are young and want to be active, this is not the greatest place. The activities are not organized but the people are great. In other places, they have organized activities, but here it's more do_it_yourself. They don't have a set schedule, it's chaotic.

Its a hotel for older people and families. A more relaxed and cheaper option. There is not much music during the day. The options of drinks is limited in the restaurants. The pool bar opens late in the morning and closes soon in the afternoon. The drinks are served in plastic cups almost everywhere and then the washed them. The night shows are good though, entertained, funny.

This was a great find! I was a little worried after reading reviews, but our experience was amazing and I hope to come back again! Employees were super friendly and helpful. Overall it’s a great value. We all loved this resort!

Amazing experience! The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel safe and comfortable, not only do they make you feel safe and comfortable but they also encourage you to participate in activities throughout the resort and make sure you have a great time while doing so. I highly recommend this resort, they deserve the 5 star review.

Great place for college spring break! There were lots of spring breakers at this resort so if that’s what you are looking for then that’s great! The food was very average if that. The drinks but the entertainment was super fun every night. The rooms were very spacious! Great location to the beach with ample chairs.

Had a great night with constant activities from lobby bar to, pool side then to the main stage. Food was good and 24/7. Great variety for breakfast lunch and dinner. Drinks are plentiful although bottom shelf waiters are happy to help (bring your own tumbler if you want to fill up). Animation crew is amazing brining all ages into the party. Definitely recommend the hotel especially for this price. Only wish is that a better kids pool was available maybe with a splash pad, and maybe 1 or 2 beers in the room at arrival would be nice.

Wonderful place to stay. Resort is clean and staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Lots of activities for everyone. Food is good especially the pizzeria. There are plenty of chairs to sit by the pools so no need to save seats. .

The hotel was very good, with very much animation. The food could be a little bit better, and there is a lack of areas with shadow near the pools and and at the beach. Other than that, the experience was very good.

The food and drinks are amazing, the beach is very clean and has a nice ambience. The rooms are also very clean and comfortable. However, the services and activities either don’t open at all or close earlier than advertised, they should update their schedules on their page.

We had a great vacation. The rooms,buffet,resort is Neat, and the staff is very nice. ( a + for Nika at the towels) Sometimes at the buffet the service was not great, and other days it was fast. As for the animation we were a bit disappointed, it is calm, not a lot of music during the day, and shows finish early. Other than that, everything was great!

Things have changed around here. We have a week ahead of us, I'll report back.

Excellent animation. Rooms, the resort, restaurant are in good condition. Very clean. You eat very well. Would recommend anyone to come. The only recommendation would be during to have the entertainment later than 11 oclock.

This hotel has beautiful wide beach with soft white sand and palms. We were staying there during Christmas and it was really good the animation team organised Santa Claus arriving to the beach and then made parade with dancing and singing. We really enjoyed the whole stay

This was our first visit to Punta Cana and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Occidental. Very welcoming as you pull in to the resort and very pretty. Loved the open air lobby area. Staff was always very nice and friendly. Plenty of food choices and though different than what we were used to, still very delicious. Great pool areas and plenty of places to spread out around the pool and beachfront as well. Lots of activities going on throughout the day all week long. Great entertainment in the lobby area at night before the main performances at the stage area. Bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable. Maid service was great! I would definitely recommend this all inclusive resort!

Super place and fine hotel. Only problem with cleaning room service. Not every day clean and not change the towels. Staff is very friendly and not a problem with English. We started to feel Christmas.

All the workers were so sweet especially the girls. They kept the entire place so lively and tried to get you to join all their activities which was so fun. The beach was beautiful and clean. Would definitely recommend

Was an amazing place for a Family reunion!. Food and drinks were amazing, especially Pizzas at midnight bar, steak house and Asian a la cart restaurants the best. The variety of food at Christmas night dinner was amazing and delicious. Beach is super clean and big, activities for kids were very good. Only 1* to the check-in service took 4 hours to do the check-in for 2 rooms, SUPER SLOW! and LAZY! we tried to explain a lot of stuff (in Spanish) and never understood. And Christmas day the hotel disappeared the towels for the beach and pool :(

I stayed at a family junior suite and it was perfect for a party of 4. The hotel is not big, so you can walk everywhere without getting tired. The food is tasty, they have taco and pizza restaurants open all day long. The beach is so beautiful: white sand, the water is aqua an the waves are a bit strong. I'd go back anytime, it's great quality for the price you pay.

We have stayed at this resort for a week. The resort is good in general in terms of its beach views, and the swimming pools are clean. The rooms are big, and they clean them daily. They add water and soft drinks to the fridge every day, in addition to changing the towels. They dealt very smoothly with us when we asked to change the room due to the frequent power cuts, and they also fixed the bathroom in the second room quickly. Good staff but the only problem was the food was not good except for the last day there were several varieties for dinner. I hope they pay more attention to the quality of the food.

Beautiful resort! The staff is amazing and helpful. The animation shows at night are very fun and interactive. It was my first time here and I recommend to everybody! It was a pleasant stay and I would definitely come back.

*Hotel was very pretty, clean and well kept. * Everything was close by-lobby, rooms,pool, restaurants, beach. *Entertainment was on-point. We were surprised with a circus show midday by the pool. * Food in restaurants was pleasantly surprising. I had one of the best risottos I have ever had at the Italian restaurant. We also ate at the seafood restaurant and the food was tasty. *Food was acceptable in the buffet. We went during a holiday, and this usually results in limited variety/ quality, so we kind of expected this.

This is a great place to stay and spend time to relaxing and enjoying the beach. The animations team is incredible. I loved having here just for the team, because they treated the place with respect. They were awesome and I hope I get to host them again. What the hotel have to focused, cleaning and rooms. There not in the best conditions. So, you’re guys have to change and fix it. Also have to improve their food menu.

I had a very nice view, good customer service. Food is nice and the rooms are clean. The only thing is that the rooms were not ready when we arrived but besides that a very nice experience.

It was OK. 1. The rooms were excellent. Very clean and spacious. Friendly maids. There was some black mold and calcium build up in the showers but it is what it is. 2. The food was phenomenal! I was never left hungry. The the dinners were 5/5, the pizzeria was excellent and buffet was fresh and had lots of selections. 3. The drinks were very poor. Many times, they would not have the spirit I'd like at any given time. The kegs would run out. I did not find this service to meet any expectation because there seems to be no sense of urgency. If you're running low, there needs to be someone reaching out to get it stock up again. The staff was not supported. Usually only 1-2 bartenders when the line up would consist of 10 - 20 people at a time. They also made drinks for each person instead of making a bulk and blending it to make the drink taste more refreshing. This would have helped simmer the line ups. 4. The service was not great. We would eat at the restaurants or seat for breakfast and no one would come by to offer coffee or provide cutlery. I'd usually have to find cutlery at other tables and seat myself. The only service that was above and beyond was the bartenders by the pizzeria! They were superb. Other places (lobby, pool bar, beach bar) - you will not get a drink for 10 - 25min which I found unacceptable. Overall - I likely will not return. There were pros and cons. Glad the food was great which gave me a reason to provide a decent rating here!

No not great. Beautiful beach and the resort is very nice. Service is slow and sometimes downright bad. Food is okay, the menu could be more varied, but not bad. Didn’t like that the pool bar was closed. Very nice pools though. Not many Americans here like myself, mostly Russians, and tons of locals on the weekends. Good place for the money.

The idea of letting locals in on the weekends is nice but they should be separated from the paying guest. We pay thousands of dollars to have a calm, relaxing, close to ocean stay and not to be disturbed during the night by the screaming and shouting of local people. They are simply lack of behaviour, slammimg doors whole fighting with each other around 1-2am. Service and catering. Bad, bad, bad. Catering is not even okay level. Restaurants are heavily understaffed, and that few staff is rude as hell. After getting tips, they know how to smile however. But I wont give any tips if not deserved. Sorry. Cleaning. It is okay, we received small gifts from our cleaning lady every second day. Bed is really comfortable, pillows are hard enough to have a great sleep. Food is delicious in the a la carte restaurants, buffet is ok, not european gastronomy but fruit is unbeatable here of course! Due to covid the staff is sercing you and giving you much more food then asked for. I find it wasting simply. Cakes are delicious too. Alcohol tastes the same, never drank so bad cocktail. Overall, the hotel is friendly, familiar, super green, very close to the beach, we liked our stay despite the above mentioned facts. The beach is clean, they take care of that. Recommended, but the services should be fixed and again, no locals in the tourists blocks. Summary: the services should be running however on 150% now. The hotel is almost empty during weekdays, it would be the best time to serve the guests at their bests. We however would recommend the hotel for our friends and family! We had a pleasant stay on the whole.

My experience at Occidental Punta Cana was wonderful, the beach is beautiful. I really wanted to give a 5 star rating but the food at the buffet is acceptable but not wonderful but I hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Occidental Punta Cana

We came for 14 days and requested a quiet room with easy access. They provided us with a spacious room with a great king size bed on a ground flour. The maid service was excellent and we appreciated the fully stocked fridge that was replenished each day with water, beer and soft drinks. The food in the specialized restaurants were very good and the atmosphere was great. The evening entertainment was varied, my favorite was the Circus and the Karaoke evening. But what makes this resort special are the people, Tessie in security, Emily at the front desk, the helpful ladies of the guest services desk, our faithful maid Flor, the team of chefs and servers. I stayed at Occidental Punta Cana a couple years ago and it was great. The location was great not too far from the Punta Cana Airport. The beach was beautiful and so was the swimming pools. The entertainment was great with live shows or music. The rooms where beautiful and cozy. The food was amazing, the chefs and cooks did a great job. The bars were also great. Staff and service was great as well.

Staff was very nice and attentive. Truly excellent service!

Overall I am very happy with my staying at Occidental Punta Cana. There are a few snags that needs to be worked out and it’s worth mentioning Staff are very friendly, food needs to be improved( people don’t come to the Caribbean for the food, I meant in the resort). The resort is very clean and well - maintained on a daily basis. The surroundings is really beautiful and the beach is outstanding, idyllic typical Caribbean beach.

Really nice resort. Good food in the buffet with a decent selection of options. Nice pools and the rooms were comfortable. The beach was quite nice and well kept. Only four stars because there is not a adult pool or a way to swim at night.

The hotel was a nice lowkey spot to go too if you’re looking for a relaxing time at the beach. The beach is beautiful with wonderful entertainment, friendly staff, and very comfortable. The food could be better. It was often cold but everything else was great.

The resort has absolute fantastic staff. Wish they had better food options. Liquor choices feel like they should be at least second shelf. The live shows that are performed are great they involve the crowd and everyone absolutely loves it. Wish they also had more restaurant choices due to the size of the resort.

The place was great .very relaxing & peaceful with good amenities and a buffet with good variety they also have 5 a la cart restaurants but you can only book 4 nights and only 3 of the 5 were available for the entire week there. The Chinese restaurant was exceptional, the Mexican was meh. One of the issues was that by 5 pm when you got back to the room after a day at the beach you were unable to have a shower as it still had not been cleaned Fun activities on the beach as well as by the pool daily

Occidental is great resort. Nice beech. Dinning rooms is very nice. Buffet is small but still lot of food options. Lots of pools for kids and adults. Lot of activities. Keep you busy all day. Had some issues at the service bar for drinks. Spoke to a gentleman name Victor whom I noticed was very attentive of everything. Sure enough, he made sure I was satisfied. Visited Punta Cana Several times and stayed at 5 stars but I would choose this resort over some of the 5 stars. Definitely recommend it.

Just a fantastic place to visit

I came to the resort 3 days ago and so far no complaints. Everyone has been super friendly. The food has quite a few different options. The beach has been very clean every day. The pools are not overly packed and the resort is kid friendly. They have entertainment throughout the day and evening hours as well. This hotel does not have a casino, but does have a nightclub open at 11pm.

A few problems going to this resort this time. Love occidental resorts but this one I don't know. We stayed at the royal club

Nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff and good service but Punta Cana is not what it use to be. If you want an exotic destination to spend your vacation time pick some other place. I use to snorkel back in the days but they ripped off the reef and no one seams to care.
