This is a beautiful corner of Québec City that is highly reminiscent of its European origins.

This is the oldest part of the old Quebec City buildings. The buildings are currently either occupied for business or people are living there. There is a small square for gathering and some trees for shade.

Traces of our Spaces, 2022 by Sarah Thibault and the high school students of Quebec City’s Vanier neighborhood (Quebec City, Quebec) This collective mural is the fruit of artist Sarah Thibault’s cultural mediation workshop with high school students in Quebec City’s Vanier neighborhood. A monumental plinth has been adorned with domestic moldings and ornamental bas-reliefs that participating students made from impressions taken in their own homes. Arranged in symmetrical patterns and gilded, students’ highly personal fragments become elegant, precious motifs. Heritage note: The architectural moldings, bas-relief ornaments, and gilding in the collective work echo the neoclassical decorative elements of the local church, Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. Eighteenth-century art production in New France focused on creating sculptural ornamentation, and later on gilding, for places of worship.

Beautiful cobblestone streets and adorable shops. The people are friendly and you'll feel like you're in Europe.

At least in February, it was a flag on a wall and a large snow pile in front! But I was still happy to see this as seeing UNESCO sites are a big deal.
