it is the mosque built in1558. handmade and finely finished stone walls and dome is it special character. except front doors there are no windows. waterbody ( pond) in the east, the front brings a charming beauty by its vastness and calmness. the mosque is functional till the days. people come here, enjoy the place with honor. a coffee shop in the East is good for time pass. week end makes the place busy. the stone crafting on front wall say something

The Kusumba Mosque is a magnificent mosque in Bangladesh, located in the village of Kusumba, in the Naogaon District. It was built in 1558–59 by a high-ranking official named Sulaiman under the last Suri ruler, Ghiyasuddin Bahadur Shah. It is one of Bangladesh’s national heritages sites and is often nicknamed "The Black Gem of Bangladesh". The mosque is constructed primarily using bricks and combines both Hindu and Islamic influences, showcasing the fusion of cultures and heritage prevalent in Bengal at the time. The elaborate terracotta ornamentation on the mosque’s outer walls further highlights the cultural amalgamation. The Kusumba Mosque not only served as a place of worship but also played a vital role in facilitating social and cultural activities within the local community. Today, the Kusumba Mosque stands as a symbol of Bangladesh’s rich history and cultural identity. It serves as a reminder of the country’s glorious past and the contributions of its predecessors

One of the oldest mosques in the country. The mosque is famous for its beautiful structure. Amazing thick walls. Not much space inside for saying prayers. There is a vast tank in front of the mosque. The stairs of the pond is wide enough. There are some snack shops beside the mosque area. People come here to visit this historical mosque from around the country. I found no restaurant nearby to have lunch. So visitors are recommended to bring food for lunch.

It is an ancient mosque located in the village of Kusumba, about 10 km away from the town of Manda in the Naogaon district of Bangladesh. The mosque is believed to have been built in the early 15th century during the rule of the Sultan of Bengal, Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah. The mosque is an example of early Islamic architecture in Bengal, with a unique blend of Hindu and Islamic motifs. The mosque has a rectangular prayer hall with three domes and two minarets. The walls of the mosque are decorated with terracotta plaques depicting geometric and floral designs, as well as scenes from the Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad. Kusumba Mosque is considered an important historical and cultural landmark in Bangladesh, and it has been declared a protected monument by the Department of Archaeology of Bangladesh.

During my recent visit to Kusumba Mosque, I was entranced by its blend of Bengali and Mughal architecture. The intricate terracotta carvings on the façade depicted stories of old, while the prayer hall's graceful arches and delicate motifs created a serene ambiance. Adjacent to the mosque, the presence of a sprawling ancient pond added an enchanting touch, reflecting the mosque's beauty. The minarets stood tall against the sky, and the courtyard held an aura of historical charm. Kusumba Mosque, with its captivating pond and remarkable architecture, is a testament to the region's cultural heritage and artisans' craftsmanship.

It is situated in Manda Upazilla of Naogaon District of Bangladesh. It was built in 1558-59. The mosque was built under one of the last Siri rules, named Ghiyasuddin Bahadur Shah.
