Awesome Awesome Awesome What can I say or start with! Handmade homemade scones (largest and freshest ever that I have seen ever) with steam coming out and enough for a large appetite like myself. Cheese Scone is something that I never had and that was an astonishingly savoury surprise. I will definitely recommend cheese scone to try something totally different with a ravishingly delicious taste. Courtesy: the staff’s courtesy was not artificial at all rather they made us feel comfortable and at home. Very warm welcoming team at YayLo. This is a place to definitely go. Seating: pls do not be put off by seeing tables taken in the coffee comfort. Rather they have a seating space downstairs too. What could be done to improve: please can you guys put up a sign outside the door that you have plenty of seating downstairs. We would have not entered due to seeing seats full but then we are glad we came in. Thank you YayLo team for a very very good experience you left us with. Well deserved five stars!

When in Reading town centre, this is undoubtedly my favourite coffee and cake spot. YayLo never disappoints with its lovely atmosphere, cleanliness, friendliness and, of course, gluten-free yumminess. There's always a beautiful selection and something new to try, which keeps me returning for more. Thank you YayLo!

Wonderful little find on my day trip! All the food is by nature, gluten free. While not gluten intolerant I found this useful for current medical needs. The staff were very busy but organised, polite and extremely attentive. They had everything together like a well oiled machine- especially given the fact there was a private event in their cosy downstairs area for 27! They host parties and networking events in this downstairs area (enquire with the lovely Richard!) which features comfortable arm chairs and a very calming relaxed atmosphere. When not hosting events, it’s an extension of their welcoming and comfortable upstairs area to all who are lucky enough to find a seat! Well done Richard and team. Doing independent eateries proud ❤️

They have the best scones and tea! The girls in the shop are friendly and helpful. Went back every morning during my stay in Reading.

Stopped to get a coffee and a snack, had 2 excellent coffees, and 2 truly gorgeous toasties....made to order, fresh ingredients, we had bacon brie cranberry rocket, and a cheese gherkin wild mustard. Not huge in size but exactly as you'd make at home with the same ingredients, good quality granary bread, fresh, absolutely lovely. Honestly best toasties we've had in a coffee shop. We sat outside and even when our granddaughter pushed the table over (hulk strength of a 21 month old lol) and sent my coffee flying smashing it into hundreds of pieces, the staff were just super understanding and chilled. Lovely staff, delighted they have joined us in Reading. Highly recommended.

Lovely cafe just opposite side entrance to Marks and Spencer and makes a change from the too numerous coffee chains in the centre of town. Whilst the other independent coffee shops were closing at about 1630, YayLo was still going strong selling a variety of foods including coffees, cake and lunches. It was quite busy and our coffee was very nice. Place was keen and there was seating outside. Well worth a visit.

I visited the coffee shop when i had a bit of free time, went in and was greeted by the 2 workers at the front, they were very friendly and nice. Got my drink in a takeaway cup, but i sat down for a few mins. The workers were very kind and polite, had a friendly chat with them and went on my way, the drink was perfect as well. Would definitely go back👍🏼

One of my favourite cafes in reading. Lovely atmosphere and great in summer with seating outside! A coeliacs dream too, so many tasty safe options to eat. I always end up buying multiple cakes!

My recent visit to the coffee place left me a bit underwhelmed. The cake I ordered arrived melted, which was disappointing. When I inquired about the type of coffee beans they use, the staff couldn't provide a clear answer. As for the coffee itself, it was rather average and didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, it wasn't the coffee experience I was hoping for.

I came here for an ice coffee and didn't get to try their gluten-free cakes. I'm not a fan of this type of cakes, from what I see, it's not a big selection. They do serve quiche on their menu.

A really lovely cafe for hot drinks and cakes. One of the best in Reading and out of the way of the Main Street. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cosy, friendly place to relax out of the way of the bustle of the high street.

It was so lovely to go into a cafe and actually have a choice of what to eat as someone who is gluten intolerant! I had the cheese and ham toastie and Nutella brownie, both were delicious! It was busy (always a good sign!) but the staff were really friendly and helpful despite being rushed off their feet! The downstairs seating area had a lovely calm atmosphere, I will definitely be back again!

Finally, Yaylo is now making vegan quiche! Tried this last April and I really enjoyed it! Hopefully they continue to make it so that it'll be available anytime I'll visit for lunch!

Toasties were average but because their cakes were so delicious, I'm giving it a 5 star rating. There is great selection, catering for some dietary requirements such as sugar-free, vegan, gluten-free options. I had the vegan chocolate cake in which they used coconut sugar, so good! I also noticed that the vegan quiche seems quite popular. The lady next to me commented on how good it was. Coffees are decent too. The place is clean and the staff is super lovely and helpful. Definitely recommend if you are in Reading!

What an amazing cafe! 2 of our party of 4 are coeliac, but all of us had an amazing lunch. Toasties were wonderful and the sweet treats were as good as anything we’ve tasted, gluten free or otherwise

Visited for the first time in a freezing late afternoon. I had my coffee walnut cake and lemon ginger tea, both were lovely, especially in such a cold weather. Must visit again in the future.

I love their coffee, paired with a sweet, caramel brownie. I recommend it :) the location is nice too.

The most incredible gluten free cakes I've ever had in my entire life! Honestly such a treat to go into a cafe and have my pick from the entire display as everything is gluten free! Even my non-gluten free friends were impressed with the cakes and said you wouldn't be able to tell anything was gluten free!

My new favourite coffee stop in Reading. The coffee is wonderful. Staff are so nice. I haven’t tried the cakes or food yet but they look delicious. Great stop for me and highly recommended.

This was a great place to spend an afternoon with a friend - fantastic cappuccinos and delicious teas. Huge range of 'free from' cakes and food items and the staff were lovely. Also really liked the Halloween decorations!

  • 5/5 Miguel R. 1 year ago on Google
Total yes ! Absolutely everything is gluten-free and delicious. Even the customers were calm and smiling. And I was treated like family on my first visit. I'm coming back, so many more things to try. This time, I had a cheese toast with mustard and gherkins, but it's a wide choice. And I will definitely have to try the different muffins and cakes, all baked there. Well done guys, it's not easy to be good at food, service and atmosphere at the same time, but you made it, thank you.
