Revelstoke Railway Museum is a perfect spot to visit if you're interested in trains! Full sized steam train and Canadian Pacific passenger car inside the museum, as well as a half SD40 cab simulator that costs $2. The museum is full of smaller exhibits with neat railway related items (clothing, hats, old pocket watches, time tables, etc), and has a decent gift shop with various items like puzzles, shirts/hats, posters, pins, etc. Would recommend visiting!

Wonderfully constructed. Very educational. Nice self-guided tour will take most folks just about one hour. Celebrates a vital part of Revelstoke history. Indeed much to learn. Kids will also enjoy miniature train displays and some hands-on exhibits.

Spent 2 hours there, but I easily could've spent more time, I'll have to arrive earlier next time. Informative displays, presented nicely. I especially liked the yard outside.

Great museum that helped me understand the history and importance of the railroad to Revelstoke. The exhibits are well done and there is a lot of information to provide context. Loved the model railroad and the thrill of seeing real life trains going by on the mainline right outside the windows.

Pretty good place to stop and enjoy some of the history. Decent for kids that love trains as well as adults. Don't orget the outside train yard has more but gets missed. Parking is great and even has chargers for electric vehicles.

Very enlightening. This museum tells us about the onerous, yet thorough history behind the railroads built across British Columbia. The museum shows us through miniature and life-size models of trains, descriptive portraits and relics. This makes for a good field trip about Canadian history.

A lovely little railway museum with friendly staff and reasonable admission fees. The exhibits and trains were interesting. The train driving simulator was a bit disappointing because it wasn’t operating properly (you basically couldn’t do anything except take the brakes off and honk the horn) but that is just a small part of it. We’d recommend a trip!

A well worthwhile visit to the museum. Our two guests from the Netherlands were impressed. The four of us got a lot of fun doing the engineer simulator

Great Great history. Absolutely love the upstairs asthetic and exhibit. They have very nice railway artifacts and well curated. Good photo opportunities and the staff really knew their stuff. Had the opportunity to meet a couple board of directors who work on site. One restoring the interactive mini train display and the other who seemed to be an expert in absolutely everything. 100000% recommend. Good for adults and children.

Went on a rainy day in Revelstoke. Great place for little boys (or girls!) Took our time and enjoyed their story telling plaques throughout. On the second level was a miniature train display, manned by “Max”, a train enthusiast. We started asking Max some questions, and he actually brought us behind to the ‘working side’. He patiently explained ANYTHING we asked about, even showing us how to make the miniature trees, and how the ‘sand’ (rocks) were done. The display was started in 2001 (before Max was even born!) and they were still adding to it! By the way, Max is 18 years old from New Brunswick, and will be CPR’s newest Train Conductor this summer! Congratulations, Max!!!

Lots of info about trains and revelstoke history. It is a scientifically proven fact that the more you know the smarter you are and this museum makes you smarter in all things TRAINS!!!!!! Trains trains trains I love trains because they go Choo choo and make me lose my mind how cool they are!!! This museum is awesome and I recommend it because if you come here it will literally change your life it is so cool and you’ll be thinking about it even when your pregnant wife is giving birth and you’ll be thinking about it when the Great War of Armageddon dawns and people are being vaporized in little Smokey flavored ashes!

This small but feature packed railway museum has both indoor and outdoor carriages to view (the indoor carriage can be walked through). There are multiple exhibits covering the history of the railway in the region but our kids enjoyed watching the model railway the best. Worth a visit if you or your kids enjoy trains.

Awesome experience, so thankful we stumbled upon this place. Great reading and seeing the history and work that went into the railway system in Canada. Also amazing seeing the sheer magnitude of the steam train inside.

This place is amazing! They actually restored an entire steam engine with its fuel tank, and many other machinaries. It's very informative and interesting. We end up spending 3 hours in it.

This is a great place for young and old. So much to see in the Ghost town and Roundhouse. We heard other visitors saying how well they were looked after in the on site hotel. Views to die for and ideal for train spotters as the goods trains and Rocky Mountaineer pass by. Great views of the mountains and nice cafes in town.

Great museum! Good mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits. Found some great souvenirs and books in the gift shop. My 5 year old really enjoyed the scavenger hunt and my teen enjoyed the train simulator.

Interesting railway museum. My kids liked seeing the trains up close - Staff were very kind. Not too many interactive displays for the kids and you have to pay extra an $2 to try the train simulator. They really enjoyed getting to board one of the indoor trains and exploring the outdoor train yard. Consider it a look and learn museum versus a touch and play one :) Very nice newly renovated accessible washrooms. There is a little gift shop with souvenirs and historical memorabilia but note there is no food to purchase on site. Expect to stay an hour or so.

😠 ATTENTION! Especially if you are visiting for the first time. No doubt the ride is fun but the wait time and policies sucks. I visited this pipe coaster from the lower mainland ( about 7 hours of drive). During my first visit they said all the tickets were sold out by 11 am, which I understand. Then...
